~Wyatt~Something happened last year that changes how I approach my life. I told no one about it. It’s affected all of my relationships and ended the one with the girl I thought I’d be with forever. I’m a hero at college and one of the top quarterbacks at the university level, and I have the popularity to show for it. Still, none of it feels deserved after what I failed to do last year. I’m … riddled by guilt and confusion over what happened, but worse is my reaction to it.
Jacey Walker has her own tales of horror that come to light after she finds refuge with my parents in Silver Springs. She’s caught my eye and interest. She has an awakening curiosity about a new and brighter future than she’s ever imagined, which has me reevaluating and appreciating my own until I realize who has caught her attention. Now I have to face my own history or risk Jacey paying the consequences.
But then Jacey’s past brings forces upon us all that might change everything forever.

Wyatt is Book 2 in the Sons Series, and I highly recommend you read Book 1 before reading this one. We first met Wyatt in The Other SIster, and he was a cute little boy. He was also in Wesley, but he wasn ‘t so cute and nice, and I really wondered about his attitude change, and in this book we find what happened to him, and why he acted the way he did. Dani and his mom knew something was wrong, but he wouldn’t share. Jacey has lived a very rough life, and when her boyfriend that she lives with tries to strangle her, she knows she has to get out, and she does. She goes to where her friend Wesley is staying, and the Kincaid’s welcome her to their home. Wyatt is intrigued by Jacey and a little in awe of her strength. When he goes back to college, he invites Jacey to come stay with him so he can show her around campus. She soaks it all in, and makes Wyatt see things differently as she is so excited about it all. Wyatt encourages Jacey to apply to college and they begin reading books together so they can discuss them. Wyatt helps Jacey so much and eventually she is the one that he is able to tell what happened to him. The growth of both of them is amazing, and I loved reading about them and their interactions and how they both made each other better people. Leanne’s books always have wonderfully developed characters and always have a lesson that you learn about important things happening or things most people do not want to talk about or address. I am so glad that I read this because I see Wyatt in a totally different light than I did in Wesley. Was so happy to get to read more about Wesley and Dani in this one too. Loved the foursome and how they all were there for each other when they needed each other. Their friendship is inspiring as they don’t hesitate to drop everything when one of them is in need.
Why did I wait so long to read Wyatt’s story? I kick myself for it. Anyways, the mystery of Wyatt is finally solved, the questions and answered and his struggles overcome. Then there’s Jacey. Her story had me in tears. Well, both of their stories did. Two broken people trying to find themselves with the help of each other. I love Wyatt when all is said and done and the way we are pulled into this series has me ready for the next one. Grab this series now!
Another great topic. Every book from Leanne touches your heart. Wyatt and Jacey’s story does not disappoint. The trials they both went through and came out from.
In this book we get to know and understand Wyatt much better. We can start to understand why he was originally so against his family taking in Wesley. We learn his secrets and that helps us to understand the changes that Dani just couldn’t put her finger on. But we also see him open up and want to do anything he can to help Jacey on her new journey for a better life. His character grows leaps and bounds, we see the kind caring man that he is and watch him succeed.
Jacey was used and abused by the one person that she should have been able to count on. Even when she knows it was wrong there is a part of her that continued to fall into the pattern hoping her mom had changed. Needing to rely on people she didn’t always make the right choices but she did make the best of friends with Wesley. She is reluctant to take the help of the Kincaid’s at first. As step by step she takes in the direction of a new life, one that she is in control of.
Can these two find a friendship or maybe even more? Wyatt has taken Jacey under his wing and is trying to show her the way. Help her find her footing in her new world. Will Jacey get a change to repay Wyatt for all he has done for her.
The characters in this series are pulling me in a little more with each book. They have has so much to overcome.
The unexpected event in Wyatt Kincaid’s life makes him deal with the the unexpected. Jacey Walker is a tornado within her own self, coming from abusive relationships and foster homes. Being a lost soul, she finds that she is welcomed into the Kincaid home and makes a connection with Wyatt. The friendship grows and they open up to one another. Without spoiling the book, I love the writer and her books. Emotions and reality are best described in her books.
After the first book in the series, Wesley, I didn’t want to like Wyatt. I went back and forth about whether or not I want to read it. I’m glad I did! In the second book in the Son series, Wyatt is now back at college after spending a good part of his summer at home. But now his life is different.
Wyatt has a secret he hasn’t told anyone, not even his best friend who is also his ex-girlfriend. His personality had changed and people were noticing. It’s affected every part of his life and eating at him. But telling anyone makes him feel uncomfortable. Then Jacey enters his life.
Jacey Walker has survived the system. Tossed from foster home to foster home, her one and only friend is Wesley (Son #1). After escaping an abusive relationship, Jacey has been welcomed into the Kincaid’s home. A lost soul herself, she makes a connection with Wyatt. Both have a past they have not told anyone. But as their friendship grows, both start to trust the other to let go of their demons that are holding them back. Trust us hard for both, but they find their way back.
Leanne Davis has written another incredible story that starts right on the first page. She brings life to her characters in a way you can connect with them. I’m truly glad to give Wyatt a chance. It’s a story that will not disappoint.
This book explains so much into Wyatt’s actions in Wesley’s book. The things he endured and kept buried inside. It was sad how he was treated by racist jackholes! I loved seeing him bring out confidence in Jacey and see their relationship develop.
I enjoyed reading how Wyatt and Jacey found love and healing together, first as friends then lovers.
A well written perfectly paced story pulling you in from the start. This one about Wyatt and what he has gone through and how he deals with his college status. Also how Jacey comes into the picture of having to deal with a very ruff life. As book two it carries on what Wesley is doing and how he is moving on and I cannot wait to read the next book written by Ms. Davis.
I enjoyed peeling the many layers of Wyatt in this book. Wyatt did not come across as a very lovable character when I read Wesley’s story, partly because he was aloof and not so connected with Dani (for childhood sweethearts, they did not take too long to dump each other) and also because he acted like an overall jerk. But with his story came his redemption. All the puzzle pieces started to fall in place and explained his odd behavior. I’m so appreciative of the author that she weaves in difficult and existent issues with her stories and makes it riveting and entertaining at the same time. They are not just stories for the sake of stories. I like the way she molds her characters and shows their transformation over time; how they come into themselves and see things for what they are. On a sub-conscious level, I think her stories affect the way I think and treat people and be more understanding of their hidden struggles. We need more authors like Leanne.
This book is amazing! Both Wyatt and Jacey have deep seeded issues that have caused scars for them. It was an emotional and inspirational read. I really liked the almost child like excitement that Jacey had for almost everything she experienced. It was a reminder to be thankful for everything you have and not to squander your opportunities. It was nice to read the journey that they took together!
Thank you for the privilege of reading this book! Well done
To me everyone of Leanne Davis’ books are amazing and I have loved every word she has written. She has the most amazing talent in that she creates so much depth and feeling into her characters making them connect with you instantly. Wyatt is no exception. He is a classic example of a kind, thoughtful and perfect man who has overcome a tragic event in his life to make him what he is today. Jacey Walker also knows the trials and tribulations of life and has met many challenges in her life. Their backgrounds are poles apart but that does not stop their relationship developing.
As always Leanne has written with great skill to make this an absorbing, delightful and extremely enjoyable story and one I highly recommend.
Leanne Davis tells a compelling story. Wyatt has loving, supportive, parents always there for him when he needs them and even when he doesn’t. Jacey comes from just the opposite kind of family. She shows up one day to see her best friend, Westley ( from previous book Westley also by Leanne Davis ). Westley was taken in by Wyatt’s family when he was in trouble for stealing. They gave Westley a second chance at a good life. This story tells how Wyatt adjusts to Westley and now Jacey. Loved seeing how they developed real feelings of love, trust, caring, and how each one’s life changed for the better. I highly recommend Wyatt by Leanne Davis.
A very emotional amazing story. This connected but separate story will keep you turning the pages until the very end. The trauma these two characters withstand seems impossible but is unfortunately real.
I didn’t start to like Wyatt Kincaid until near the end of book one of Wesley’s story.
He fares much better with me in book two.
Learning the trauma he’s lives with since his sophomore year of college explains his uncharacteristic behavior.
Despite his birth mother being murdered when he was a toddler, Wyatt still grew up with a loving father and stepmother, extended family and friends in a comfortable, privileged life.
Jacey Walker has lived the true hard-knocks life complete with foster care and a drug-addicted, alcoholic mother who sees her as a tool to feed her addictions instead of a daughter to be loved and cared for.
Booted from foster care after becoming an adult, Jacey moves in with the only person to offer her shelter. When the situation becomes abusive, she searches out the only friend she has, Wesley Abbott, who’s already walked away from the chaotic and destructive foster care lifestyle.
Wesley’s staying with the Kincaids and this is when Jacey and Wyatt meet.
After successfully dealing with Wesley’s issues, for the time being, Wyatt and Jacey develop a friendship. He encourages her to want more and never settle; similar words to what she heard in counseling.
A relationship grows between the two as Wyatt continues to encourage Jacey to stretch her wings, read good books, and enroll in college.
While they both must conquer past fears before they can move on, for me, it’s Jacey who helps herself and Wyatt. She may not have the academics, but she has more common sense and wisdom than a roomful of people. Once she realizes her own power, there’s no stopping her.
Wyatt is another strong offering from this author as book 2 in the Son Series, with well-developed characters willing to put the happiness of others first even if it means risking their hearts.
Enjoy!
So I’m honestly extremely happy that Jacob got his book and his chance for redemption. He’s had it rough but to be honest, he did it to himself. He was a lost kid who got into the wrong thing that nearly destroyed him and his family. It took a lot for me to like Jacob in the other books but in this one, you see how much he’s grown physically and mentally. He’s like a whole new person now. He knows what he did was and why he did it was unacceptable. He has learned from his mistakes and has a second chance at life. I felt myself loving him.
So this book starts off with a bang, I mean literally a bang. It was madness and craziness all into one. Jacob coming home was emotional but that was only the tip of the iceberg in this book. Him and Luna are brought together in a horrific way. They survived a horrible tragedy and suffer the aftermath. They are deemed heroes but they don’t at all feel like it. Luna especially is feeling remorse at its worse. She is suffering from PTSD. Jacob does his best to help her as himself during this book. She doesn’t feel like she deserved to live. This book will break your heart over and over again. I cried so much over this book and had to take so many breaks during reading it. This book will gut you to the core. This isn’t your typical boy meets girl, they fall madly in love and live happily ever after. A town is rocked. Two characters are overcoming their past along with the present and trying to make adult decisions. I absolutely loved Jacob and Luna. This book was beautiful and heartbreaking but it does have a happy ending.
This is the final book in this series. It was a quick and easy read. This story starts with a tragedy that brings two lost souls together. Jacob and Luna’s was beautifully written and made this romance even more special. I loved that we had tidbits from the characters in the previous stories as well!!
i love this book …these character are so great together and i love how you can feel their emotion..thru all the book ..i love how both get through all their difficult time ..this it a must read book you wont regret getting this book
I enjoyed reading another series by this author that takes place in Silver Springs. It was easy an read and hard to put down. I loved that characters from her other books have small parts in this story. This is Wyatt Kincaid and Jacey Walker’s story. Both characters experienced serious trauma and used it as a way to come out on top. It was wonderful that they both got the HEA, they deserved.
I missed the previous book in this series, but am looking forward to reading Devon’s book next. I hope to see Wyatt and Jacey pop back up, again in this series.
Chapter 17; Wyatt: Leanne Davis (location 3628)
“You are an adult. You have the capacity to make decent, good decisions. It’s your responsibility now. Whatever you choose to do, it’s on you. You can’t blame your mother or your childhood any longer.”
Jacob and Luna were two unlikely people to be together but under the unfortunate circumstances that brought them together, they will become allies amidst the rubble of the tragedy that redefined their lives. As their town becomes the focus of a media circus, their celebrity status brings on the fear that their turbulent pasts could threaten everything they have built. The two must decide whose sins are a bigger deal breaker. Both are fighting separate demons. In the end they will have to decide whether this thing between them is real and strong enough to heal and conquer their demons. The story wasn’t just Jacob and Luna’s love story, but also a story about Jacob’s struggle to rebuild his life of recovery from his addiction to heroin. It was both moving and an emotional read for me.
