He’s lost her twice…he’s not going to lose her again… NHL Hockey Goalie Wyatt Marshall has everything–fame, money and a thriving career. But he’s hiding the two things that matter most…a career-ending injury, and his broken heart. He’s been in love with Coco Stanley since she walked into his life at age fourteen, a foster child for the Marshall family. She stole his heart years later, when, … stole his heart years later, when, after a secret tryst, she returned to her home country of Russia. But she won’t let him back into her life—and he can’t figure out why.
She’s harboring a secret that could cost lives…
Coco Stanley is tired of living her life undercover. Or at least, with an assumed name, always pretending to be someone she’s not. And that’s not the only secret she’s harboring. If Wyatt discovers the real reason she left him, it might just destroy him. She’s resigned herself to loving him from afar…
But when he discovers she’s in danger…
Wyatt is horrified when he learns Coco has been shot and left in Russia, her fate unknown. There is nothing—nothing—that will stop him from finding her. So what if he’s not one of his super-heroic brothers, not a Ranger, not a SEAL…Wyatt is a hockey goalie, a special kind of crazy brave. Except, is he brave enough to face the secret Coco is keeping, or will it destroy everything he’s hoped for?
What will it cost them to save her?
What Wyatt and Coco don’t know is that revenge is stalking her and bringing her home just might cost them their long-awaited happy ending.
Continue the breath-taking Montana Marshalls series!

‘Wyatt Marshall hadn’t come all the way to Russia to fail.’
Sometimes you read a book and you just can’t pick up another for a while because this one just blew your completely away. Wyatt is that book.
‘You will not be free of the striving until you hear the voice of your true Father telling you that you are loved. You are delighted in. You are enough, Wyatt.’
Wyatt Marshall. Strong. Determined. Forceful. Romantic. Brave. With each Marshall, I think they are the best, but then along comes another and I change my mind. Wyatt will make your heart soar. Orrin and Gerri Marshall raised some mighty fine children. Mighty fine indeed.
Susan May Warren continues her highly explosive Montana Marshalls series with Wyatt, the superstar goalie for the Minnesota Blue Ox hockey team. And boy, is Wyatt ever a hero! As in the previous books, this one intertwines with the rest. Wyatt has gone to Russia to find his one true love and bring her home with him. But Coco has a huge set of problems facing her, including the fact that she doesn’t believe Wyatt wants her. And she has a big secret.
I have always been a Susan May Warren fan since I read my first book by her. I shall always be a fan. And not just because she is a great author and tells a tremendous story, which she does. But she brings the spiritual message and brings it incredibly well. She takes God out of the box and shines the light of Jesus all over the place! How I love this. Warren truly shines here. The story is on fire, the danger, the predicaments, the intrigue, the emotions, everything was absolutely perfect! She always manages to dig so deep into her characters’ hearts and make them feel like real, live, breathing people to her readers. My emotions were all over the place in this book. Let me warn you: you will need tissues. I just hated for it to end. I love these folks! Another one for the keeper shelf. I highly recommend this book.
*My thanks to the publisher and author for a preview copy of this book. I received no compensation and the opinions stated here are entirely my own.
Wyatt Marshall is a professional hockey goalie, not a spy. Not even a military man. But he feels he must go to Russia to help his childhood friend, Coco, even though it doesn’t seem as though she even wants to still be friends, let alone have him save her. But Wyatt is a Marshall, after all…
The latest installment of Susan May Warren‘s Montana Marshalls series had me reading way past my bedtime… again. I could understand Wyatt being so convinced he had to save Coco that he would do any crazy thing to accomplish that goal. I could relate to wanting to be good enough. Wyatt had to learn that he was already enough to his heavenly Father. He didn’t need to prove anything to be accepted and loved. We are enough, and God loves us as we are, without our doing anything to deserve or earn it.
Coco also has her own issues to work through. She’s been hiding from nearly everyone. She needs to realize that God will fight for her despite anything that she’s done. That she’s God’s treasure, and He is strong when she is weak. And maybe it’s time for her to stop running and trying to do everything on her own.
I definitely enjoyed Wyatt and Coco’s story. It’s full of suspense and romance, with a positive inspirational thread throughout. I won’t give away any spoilers—you’ll have to read Wyatt for yourselves. I think it’s best to read the stories in the Montana Marshalls series in order because the stories do refer to people and incidents in previous books, and they continue the same bigger storyline. I will say that I am definitely looking forward to reading Ruby Jane’s story very soon! I can’t wait to see how Susan May Warren ties all of the pieces together. If you enjoy epic romantic adventures, you’re sure to enjoy Wyatt. Just be prepared to possibly read past your bedtime!
I received a review copy from the author, but was not required to write a positive review, and the opinions expressed here are entirely my own.
In this fourth installment of the Montana Marshalls series, we are officially introduced to Wyatt, the second youngest Marshall brother. He is a star hockey player, loved by the world but wanting to prove he’s as tough as his brothers. Coco, one time Marshall foster sister and Wyatt’s longtime crush, is hiding some big secrets of her own – ones that will change the Marshall family forever.
This book picks up where Ford left off, with Wyatt in Russia trying to find Coco, bring her home, and clear his sister Ruby’s name. While the story has plenty of action, like the others in the series, there’s a little more time for reflection as we learn more about Wyatt and Coco’s history. In the midst of nail-biting suspense is a beautiful story about second (or third) chances at love. Missed connections are brought to light, secrets are revealed, and the stakes become even higher as Wyatt and Coco travel across Russia and try to make it home. I really enjoyed getting to know Gerri Marshall better in this book – she’s just the grounding, encouraging matriarch this crazy family needs!
Each one of the Marshall siblings is so unique, and Susie May has done a great job of writing their stories in ways that fit them, but that still bring them together in one overarching plot. She has a unique way of getting into the characters heads and bringing us along for the ride. If you’re a fan of romantic suspense, you won’t want to miss Wyatt, or Ruby Jane, which is sure to be an explosive finale to the series, when it comes out next month!
I received a complimentary e-copy of this book from the author. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
Wyatt is book four of the highly anticipated Montana Marshalls Series by Susan May Warren. Wyatt is highly suspenseful and a romantic book. Susan focuses on God and family in all of her books. It shows how much the Marshall family relationships are important to each other! When reading Susan’s books I feel that I am front and center, just another character in the book and I do not want to put it down! In book four, you will finally be able to read the whole story of Coco and Wyatt! What happened between them so many years ago? Why did Coco have to leave? Does Wyatt get the love of his life back? All of these questions are finally answered!
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
Susan May Warren
I think I’m developing an anxiety disorder from reading this series! It’s hitting my threshold for suspense and angst (which really isn’t hard to do). It was a relief to learn more of Coco’s backstory and secrets, although one surprise made everything more complicated but also awesome. It was hard for me to understand the choices she made- I could see at least three more preferable options, but the author did a good job of showing how Coco’s circumstances and life experience made it hard for her to see things from another perspective. Wyatt is a bit of a headcase, but I liked how it was easy to see how different he is from his brothers. His verbal spewing when he is overwhelmed is hilarious! His emotional loyalty and devotion to Coco is endearing and their sensitive moments together were special. They both learned some important spiritual lessons (the supporting characters sharing the insights got a bit preachy) but the emotion of the moments really came through. I loved seeing more of Ruby and York and can’t wait to see their story play out in the next book where I hope all the intrigue will finally be resolved!
(I received a complimentary copy of the book; all opinions in this review are my own)
This was one of the best story of the series. I felt this one tugged at my heartstrings more than Know, Ford and Tate’s story. Coco and Wyatt’s journey to love was filled with drama, pain and espionage. You have a admire a man who admits that He is not like his former ranger brother or a Navy SEAL but he is knows how to play rough as a goalie. Wyatt’s vulnerability will make every female want to heal him. Coco is one of the toughest heroines. I love her passion and loyalty Her fierce love for those she loves and the sacrifice she is willing to make to keep them safe. Coco and Wyatt are exactly who they need to be for their relationship to work.
I cannot wait to read Ruby Jane’s story next. This book was given to me by the publisher and the opinions expressed are entirely my own.
I love a good second chance romance and this one was great! It started out slower paced than the previous books, but that doesn’t mean it was any less compelling. I was hooked and read it as fast as I could.
I have a bit of a weakness for hockey players, so I was excited to get to know Wyatt better. He’s been somewhat of a mystery. Though we did finally get to spend a little bit of time with him in the previous book, it wasn’t nearly enough. After this book, I’ve gotta say, I adored him. (Almost as much as Ford.) He’s such a sweet guy. So different from his brothers, but no less of a hero. When the woman he loves is in danger and injured in Russia, Wyatt stops at nothing to find Coco. So what if they haven’t seen each other in years? No big deal. There’s no other woman for him. But there’s a very big secret she’s been keeping from him that just might tear them apart for good.
There were some actions and choices that a few characters made that irked me. I understand why they did it, but it was still frustrating. I want to explain better, but I don’t want to spoil anything. And while I did want to shake some sense into these characters at times, I really did enjoy this book.
Wyatt was an emotional, action packed, and suspenseful romance that I had a hard time putting down. I can’t wait to read Ruby Jane, the conclusion to this exciting series.
“You should have forgotten about me, like I said.”
WYATT is my favorite in the Montana Marshalls series! I’ve loved all the characters but his tugged on my heart the most. Deep-seated insecurities and comparison thinking drive Wyatt, leading to numerous misunderstandings and eventual heartache. Lost love, Coco, has resurfaced and he is intent on rescuing her from whatever circumstance is causing her so much pain. He has no idea what’s really going on but things are about to heat up in the frozen tundra of Russia.
Warren is the cream-of-the-crop in contemporary romantic suspense. Her ability to accurately portray family dynamics is amazing, all the while digging into the faith of each member and making them stronger apart and together. It blows my mind how similar so many of the root causes of the trials Wyatt goes through mirror my own. And I’m not a man or a hockey player. 🙂 It’s a matter of the heart.
If you’re a Warren fan, you’ll love this book. If you’ve never read her books, I would advise you not to read these out of order. Each one definitively builds on the next. I’m on pins and needles waiting for Ruby Jane, thrilling conclusion to The Montana Marshalls, to come out next month.
I was provided a digital copy by the author. No obligation to review. No compensation received.
Wyatt is a great addition to the series. The plot is well written and fast paced and the characters are well developed. I couldn’t put this book down. Fans of romantic suspense will not be disappointed. I received a complimentary arc. This is my unbiased review
Let me say that just when I think I have read the best of Susan May Warren she gets even better.
Wyatt Marshall is living his dream. Playing hockey for the Minnesota Blue Ox NHL team has been his goal for years. He can’t imagine doing anything else and hopes to do it for years to come. The only thing that would make his life complete would be if the career ending injury that he sustained were to suddenly go away and if the love of his life, Coco Stanton would come home where she belongs to the Marshall Ranch in Montana.
CoCo first came to the ranch when she was a teenager, she and her mother needed to leave Russia after there was a kidnap attempt on Coco’s life. Her Mom and Mrs. Marshall (Wyatt’s Mom) had been friends for years so it made sense to come to the US. When Coco’s Mom died she stayed on with the Marshalls for a few more years before going back to Russia.
Wyatt was different than the other brothers, he is the one that helped her the most, through learning to adapt in her new home country as well as when her Mom died. The Marshalls embraced her as the family that she had become. Through that time Wyatt and Coco also fell in love.
When Coco went back to Russia Wyatt was heartbroken so threw himself into his games. But nothing filled the ache of not having Coco in his life. He saw her 2 other times, once when he was in Russia and the one time he Coco happened to be back at the ranch at the same time.
While in Russia for an exhibition game with the Russian team he makes up his mind that this time, he is not leaving Russia with out her. But what happens when Wyatt discovers the secret that she has been keeping all these years? Will they get out of Russia safely?
Thank you Ms. Warren for allowing me to be apart of this team. I cannot wait for Ruby Jane!
Wow, what a ride!
Bravo SMW for writing another addition to this fantastic family series!
Each one of these stories are as unique as the siblings that it features. I LOVED Ford, I mean he was pretty perfect.
Wyatt’s story is very different, because Wyatt is a totally different brother. He is someone who acts on more emotion. He has a history with Coco that was illuded to in the previous book. And now we finally find out why things happened the way they did.
This is another fast paced story and I finished it in a day. Very hard to put down. I loved the humorous parts of the book!
Wyatt’s mind was often jumping to conclusions and then running away with imagination, and I cracked up with his and York’s interactions.
Seriously, I love York so much!
There are several twists in the story that I can’t reveal without giving too much away. Some I guessed ahead of time, others caught me off guard.
There are some adult themes mentioned, but not too detailed.
I loved the part Jace ( It Had To Be You) had, yet I have always loved him!
I am totally addicted to the series!
Can’t wait for the final book to come!
I received a copy of this book from the author, my review and opinion is my own.
This family should come with a warning label, York said.
After reading the first four books in this series the above quote is putting it mildly.
I literally just closed the book and my heart is still pounding! My emotions have been all over the place reading this book. From holding my breath to attempting to hold back tears.
In a big family you often can get lost in the shuffle, and as a son if you don’t feel like you relate to your dad you can feel like you don’t belong. Well, Wyatt is feeling that in spades and his insecurities aren’t helping the situation he finds himself in.
Ms. Warren’s ability to evoke emotion through character’s and story is something I look forward to with each story I read of hers. And her family saga stories are my must reads. She creates family’s that are not only big, they’re flawed and we can relate to them. Even with the flaws and struggles she points the character and story back to Christ and His love and saving grace.
Just when I think I have a favorite book in the series I read the next one. While Ford is still holding his spot Wyatt is currently my favorite.
This book is perfect for reader’s who like action packed, swoon-worthy contemporary stories. I do recommend you read them in order to understand the entire story-line.
Disclaimer: I received a copy of this book via the publisher in association with Susan May Warren’s street team. A review was not required. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
I have enjoyed the Marshall family and have looked forward to reading every new installment that Susan May Warren crafts. With Wyatt, I feel a special connection because of my love for hockey. I have loved hockey since I was fourteen years old. Still today, I ‘m rooting for my Colorado Avalanche. So I have enjoyed the couple of books that Warren has written about hockey players. In Ford, there was a lot of running for their lives. In Wyatt, there are moments of high tension, but for the most part, it was Wyatt learning about his past and the consequences from them. Coco has some secrets that she has kept from Wyatt and everyone too. This story is all about forgiveness and learning to move forward with life no matter what it hands you. The romance has been long in coming. Wyatt and Coco have the predictable ending. Not that I see it being really any easy road. They had to fight to achieve what appears to be a happily-ever-after. There are rough patches ahead for this couple. The romance is definitely there with plenty of sparks and moments of doubt. Warren’s writing is top-notch. She is a fabulous writer. Sometimes I pause and just reread her writing slowly. As a budding writer, I admire her skill. I can’t do what she does. Warren really knows how to dive into her character’s emotions and lay them all out on the table for the reader to empathize with. Another favorite part is the organic spiritual threads inside and outside the characters. Not pushy. Just realistic, humbled people who love God and are not afraid to share it with others with the need arises. Overall, Wyatt by Susan May Warren is definitely another keeper for the shelf. I enjoy this family as much as the Christiansen family. I anxiously await Ruby Jane’s story.
I received a complimentary copy of Wyatt by Susan May Warren from SDG Publishing, but the opinions stated are all my own.
The latest installment of the Montana Marshalls series does not disappoint! Hockey players, spies, assassins, Russia – what more could you ask for in a romantic suspense story?! Wyatt Marshall is a NHL star goalie but all he can think of is finding the love of his life – who is hiding somewhere in Russia. The story of his search for Coco is a rollercoaster ride of intrigue and trying to determine who he can trust. This can be a “stand alone” story but once you meet the Marshall family, you will want to read all of their stories! This is a must read for suspense lovers! I received an advanced copy but this review is my honest opinion.
Wow! Just when you don’t think Ms. Warren could write any better, she proves you wrong with her latest book in the Marshall series. This book focuses on Wyatt and is the fourth book in this series. Wyatt is a professional hockey player who has always loved CoCo, the girl from his youth. When Wyatt hears she is in trouble, he will stop at nothing to find her (even if she is in Russia) and try to help her in her time of need. As you read, you will get to catch up on characters in the previous books and get a glimpse of some of the characters in the last book. This book will keep you up all night to reach the conclusion. The romantic suspense story will leave you guessing the entire time (and even after you finish there are still a few questions). If you are looking for an engaging, intriguing storyline, you definitely want to read all of the books in this series. This book can be read as a stand-alone, but I recommend you read all of the books (Knox, Tate, Ford, and then Wyatt). I have anxiously been awaiting Ruby Jane’s book and am looking forward to reading the concluding book in this series. I highly recommend this book and series! You will not be disappointed!
You better set aside enough time to read this book at one sitting, as you will not be able to set it down. This is another winner by Ms. Warren. It grabs you from the beginning and doesn’t let loose until the end. It is filled with action, mystery, suspense and romance. The writing is superb as usual, with well developed characters and plot with some twists and turns. This is a must read along with the other books in this series.
Wow Wyatt!
“I always knew you were the real hero of the family.”
Which is pretty much is why I loved Wyatt. He is not a government agent, an undercover spy, a bull rider, a smokejumper or a military trained superman. Yet he pushes through his doubts, inadequacies and feelings of never being enough to reach inside himself and courageously pull himself and those he loves out of peril.
Wyatt brings his everything to protect those he loves. And it is enough. Even though he has brothers that are overachievers, Wyatt solely reacts and does what he feels he must do to save his family.
This is a must read series. If you haven’t started, do it now! Each book builds on the one before. So it is best to read them in order. (And reread them once you finish.) I love them all. Susan May Warren always teaches spiritual lessons along with the suspense which she is so excellent at writing. But I love that her books are nearly all family centered and many of the characters overlap into other books. They are familiar and I feel like I know them personally.
I recommend this book and this series highly!
I received an ARC from the author for an honest review, the opinions are entirely my own.
Another winner in The Montana Marshalls series! This book is full of action, adventure, suspense and romance. If you only read one series this year, get this series! Like York said in the book “This family needs to come with a warning label.” I can’t say enough good things about this book! If you are looking for a book that will keep you on the edge of your seat, grab this book!
Wyatt by Susan May Warren checks all the boxes in the romantic suspense category. It’s suspenseful and definitely romantic. Family centered, with relationships between the Marshall brothers running throughout the series, each story building upon the previous one with even more intensity. Wyatt can be read as a standalone, but I recommend reading the series in order for the best understanding and connection with characters.
I love covers that feature male leads and this one’s a winner, both cover and storyline. NHL goalie and poster boy, Wyatt Marshall, just might be my favorite of the Marshalls. Having always felt less than capable in comparison to his brothers, he manages, through sheer determination and creativity, to find a way to enter Russia in search of the love of his life. Secrets lie between them. The history between Wyatt and Coco is long and has never ended well, but her recent injury propels Wyatt to the rescue.
The action is fast paced, the danger real, and the chemistry between these two can easily be felt. I love that the characters are flawed, but keep picking themselves up and going on. Wyatt and Coco have a lot of baggage to overcome and it’s great to watch them slowly rebuild their relationship. RJ and York’s story also continues and is key to the action.
Wyatt proves himself to be a true hero in life, not just on the ice. Readers will love the conclusion and be eager for RJ’s story that concludes the series.
Recommended.
I received a copy of this book through JustRead Tours. The opinions expressed in this review are entirely my own.
Reading Wyatt was liking looking into a mirror.
Wyatt was the Golden boy of the Marshalls. Everyone knew it but him. And for words that weren’t spoken he went on living life like he had something to prove to everyone. Reading this book my heart went out for Wyatt. He wasn’t the strong SEAL or cop like his brothers but he was the heart of the Marshalls and through a series of life threatening and heart stopping scenes he got to know he had nothing to prove to anyone. He had to learn when trying to save Coco the love of his life and himself from Russia and their enemies while trying to clear his sister’s name RJ too that there is nothing we can do to be deserving of God’s love and we have nothing to prove to Him.
I loved reading about the lenghts he went to ensure Coco never left him again. He put his heart in everything he did and that was so endearing.
Coco had a secret she was keeping from Wyatt. All her life she had been hiding and running and never feeling she belonged anywhere except the time she spent on the Marshall’s farm. Back in Russia she had to live under the radar taking care of herself and trying to stay alive until Wyatt stepped back into her life. Through a series of escaping death, bullets and assassins in Russia Coco had to learn to allow Jesus take care of her. She had to learn to stop taking her life in her hands. Even though they had both made mistakes together through their obstacles they learnt to allow Jesus take the lead.
I loved reading about how they found their way back to each other after disappearing twice from each other’s life. How they learnt to communicate about their insecurities instead of pushing it down.
I love meeting RJ and York again in this book. Those two have become my favorite fictional couple. She escaped from Russia but she had to deal with feara. I can’t wait for the 5th book to read the conclusion of their story.
Susan swept me off my feet again with this book. It was action packed from the beginning till the end. Breathtaking and engaging. I was racing through the book with the characters because I just wanted to know what happened and how it happened.
I received a complimentary copy of this book for my honest opinion. All opinions expressed here are mine.
