Kennedy Mortensen has been drifting for years, travelling and food blogging. It’s a good life, but something’s missing. When she gets to a little hamlet in the mountains of Colorado that isn’t even on the maps, she wonders if she’s found that something—and she’s sure it includes the forceful, but gentle, and oh-so-gorgeous man who runs off a couple of creeps who are bothering her. She can’t get … get him out of her mind even though he doesn’t seem interested in her. It’s like pulling eye teeth even to get him to give her his name.
Wyatt Drake has just broken up with his long-time girlfriend, a woman he’d expected to marry, and a relationship is the last thing he wants. But his dragon is sniffing around a tourist in his hometown—a tourist who discovers more about him in days than his girlfriend did in years—and who seems to like him despite all that, or maybe even because of it. Still, Wyatt isn’t sure he’s ready for another relationship. He doesn’t want a one-night-stand or a short-term rebound girl. He’s looking for commitment. And what kind of stability can he get from a travelling food-blogger he just met?

Seeing what home really means
The author kept us on the edge of our seats with this one. She took her characters on a journey to understand love, discover what they really wanted out of life, and what the strength of family means. I love how this town sticks behind their dragons and how the dragons look out for the town. This family might not be perfect, but they are working on it. I enjoyed this book and the sweetness of the ending. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series.
I voluntarily reviewed an arc of this book.
This is the second book in the Aurum Court Dragons, it can be read as a standalone and has no cliffhangers…
Wyatt is not looking for love as he has been burnt by his ex, but meeting Kennedy brings his protectiveness out but soon an unexpected visitor comes back and stirs drama.
Another wonderful well-written story, filled with drama and intrigue, I love the family interaction between the dragons and that Kennedy feels at home with them.
arc review I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.Kennedy is a blogger and finds grove a town in the Colorado mountains . While there she find out the secret of the town. wyatt is just getting over a break up and is not sure what to think of Kennedy. Awesome story
Wyatt and Kennedy
I am seriously enjoying this book. I have now finished it.
Kennedy is a character of contradictions maybe that is not the best word to describe her but she does keep the reader engaged.
Wyatt is a product of neglect. He has a habit of forcing emotions into a neat little box even though they don’t fit. He holds on for dear life until the person walks away leaving him emotionally drained.
This book is not soon in gloomy but had me laughing out loud from the imagery of the writing.

I loved reading this book so much. Wyatt by Emilia Hartley is a tantalizing well written love story that drew me in immediately. This evocative love story between a human and a dragon is sweet, earnest, and littered with enchanting surprises. The characters are likeable and encourage a reader to keep turning the page to find out what happens next. This is a stand alone book in a series that is an excellent read for anyone who enjoys a love story with a happy ever after ending. I am definitely waiting excitedly to read the next book in this series.
I liked these two characters and the humor between them. Kennedy is a loving soul and doesn’t understand why she doesn’t want to leave the Grove. Wyatt is looking for love, but realizes he’s been looking in all the wrong places. This story is full of humor and pain, yet the characters are very strong. I realize the story is building on the first book, but it really doesn’t go any farther explaining things than the first one.
The Drake dragons have feelings and insecurities that are somewhat out of character for a dragon. I love how sensitive these guys are. Wyatt has had his heart broken and is so afraid the feelings he’s having for Kennedy is just rebound. Kennedy is feeling an unexpected draw to Wyatt and wants to explore it. I love how determined she is to make a connection with him, no matter how short he is with her. I was also excited about how well she took his dragon in stride when she found out. I was also amazed that all of the lesser dragons were so barbaric and demanding when it came to Kennedy. Those guys have no manners or common sense. How they think they can just walk up and claim a woman without her approval is beyond me. I love how Wyatt handled that. Jasper, the king, is still a handful, but it seems like each addition to the family helps just a bit. I think if he could find his mate he would stand better chance of controlling his dragon. I requested an advanced reader copy from Booksprout and am under no obligation to leave this review.
Wyatt tried to fulfill his fantasy of a happy relationship instead of looking for a mate bond. Not for the first time, this did not end well. Nicole seems a particularly nasty piece of work.
Kennedy is a food blogger, who seems strangely drawn to Grove – and a certain hunk, who protects her from unwanted advances.
But there are problems. Lesser dragons are treating single women as more of a meat market with coarse and even somewhat violent advances. And Jasper being drawn to the forest – something else is in there that burns, besides the dragon fire.
Poor Kennedy does not earn of serious injuries that Jasper inflicts on her Wyatt – he failed to mention the injuries to his other knights until Wyatt was missing a few days.
Kennedy see the foolish dork with his greedy ex and fears she has been thrown over without notice.
What is the underlying idiot programming in makes that makes them polite to exes when trying to express to you how valuable you allegedly are? Excuse yourself from the ex and go after your woman post haste you dorks!
Makenna and her efforts to intervene are not enough to convince a confused Kennedy.
Love, and consistency are the only things that win the heart of fair Mate in the long run.
An action packed suspenseful romance!

Wyatt is back on Drake mountain, reeling from being dumped by his girlfriend, so the last thing he’s looking for is a replacement, but his dragon has other ideas. His dragon has a cute out of towner in its sights…..
Kennedy only wants to move from place to place, she doesn’t need roots, she’s living her life and loving her job, but meeting Wyatt and his crazy family have her in a spin. Maybe she just hasn’t found that one place to settle, could Grove and Drake mountain be the place she’s always been looking for or is it Wyatt she wants to call home?
Book 2 sees us catching up with Wyatt. He’s cousin to both Ashton and Jasper the king. He didn’t really want to come home, but being summoned back to court by both Ashton and Griffin (another cousin) he doesn’t have much of a choice, he’s also nursing a broken heart, being dumped by the woman he had hoped to marry as him sworn off women, so why does he feel the need to protect a woman in the diner? Sure she’s cute, but he’s not suppose to be interested, but his dragon half has other ideas……
Kennedy is a food blogger, travelling from town to town, relaying her trip and pictures to her online followers.
The moment she sets foot in Grove, she feels a connection, she’s honestly thinking about finding a place, at first it’s just a feeling, but as time goes by, she sees herself settling down…..
Being watched in the diner isn’t unusual for Kennedy, she takes pictures of sights and plates of awesome food. But the man watching her gives her the creeps, it’s not until another man steps in and rescues her.
Wyatt and Kennedy have an almost instant attraction to one another, but neither will admit it.
Wyatt has a secret, it’s not a family secret, the whole town knows, but outsiders are privy to it.
And when a face from the past resurfaces, what will it mean for Wyatt and Kennedy.
Excellent and entertaining romance between Wyatt Drake, a dragon back in the Grove to help with Jasper. Then we meet Kennedy a online food blogger that is immediately attracted to Wyatt who just came out of a tough relationship. The characters are well developed and there is a lot of angst. This book is part of the Aurum Court Dragon’s that I complementary received from Booksprout and I chose to write a review.
Allow a day for this adult tale of what happens when drifter and food blogger Kennedy Mortenson comes to Grove, Colorado. I received an ARC from BookSprout and this voluntary review is my own opinion.
