Chelsea Cooper thinks her best friend’s fiancé is the world’s biggest jerk.
She’s never really been one to make waves, but when it comes to that guy, Chelsea’s willing to make an exception. There’s just no way she can let her best friend make the biggest mistake of her life by marrying him. She’ll do anything to stop the wedding, even if it means teaming up with the one person who’s an even … even bigger jerk—the groom-to-be’s best friend.
Drew Russo thinks his best friend’s fiancée’s best friend is the prickliest woman alive.
Everything about Chelsea aggravates him. She’s too structured, too uptight, and too opinionated—especially when it comes to her thoughts on his best friend. When he’s tasked with keeping her away from their best friends’ secret wedding, Drew knows he’s in for one hell of a challenge. Never mind the days he’ll have to spend trapped in a car with the world’s most annoying woman.
The plan is simple enough—keep Chelsea from interfering with the wedding. But between distractions, delays and detours, they discover they aren’t the enemies they thought they were. And sometimes a wrong turn can lead you in the right direction.
Warning—This sweet, sexy, and laugh out loud funny romance is filled with all the most ridiculous road trip stories you can imagine and will make you realize sometimes being wrong can be a lot more fun than being right.

When his best friend decides to elope Drew has reservations but never lets his feeling know. When the bride decides she does not want to tell her best friend Chelsea about the quick nuptials, it is left in Drew’s hands to keep her occupied and away from the wedding. What turns out as a trip to waste time becomes so much more when not only do they both decide this wedding should not be happening but also end up going from enemies to lovers while on the road trip. Who knew that taking a wrong turn can be exactly what your heart was looking for. Highly entertaining and another fabulous read from Samantha Chase. I don’t think I have laughed out loud as much as I did while reading this book.
Okay I totally adored this super fun story in this quirky new series. It’s sweet and funny with some serious thrown in there to give it just the right balance. I love Drew and Chelsea, both are such wonderful characters! I was cheering them on from the get-go even as they were arguing about everything lol. Enemies to lovers is always an interesting time since they are both passion driven and of course there is that fine line. I love when the couple eventually realizes they have something special and crosses over that line.
Drew and Chelsea’s road trip enables them to finally get to know each other after a year of being in the same friend group and basically driven by other people’s feelings. They bond as they ride together and finally get to know each other and soon realize the quest they are on is a likeminded one after all. Then chemistry takes over and they discover they not only like but are very attracted to each other and ultimately some deep feelings grow. There are so many things I love about this book but one of my favorite things is the book Chelsea reads to Drew in the car. Very cool Samantha Chase!! That brought such a smile to my face.
I really enjoyed their road trip complete with wrong turns that eventually lead them to a very satisfying HEA. I look forward to the next book!
This is a funny audiobook which made me laugh aloud many times. I like C.J. Bloom’s expressive voice. The writing is modern and cute. Chelsea and Drew rub each other the wrong way, but that’s really because they don’t really know each other. They’ve been negatively influenced by their best friends Bianca and Jimmy, who are rushing to get married, and who don’t want to be stopped by Chelsea. Towards the end, Chelsea was being stubborn, I believe, which bothered me a bit, as apparently I am more of a romantic than this heroine.
Have you ever thought your best friend was making a huge mistake? What lengths would you go to stop them from making that mistake? I think we all can relate. In Wrong Turn Samantha Chase gives us an emotional journey. We see that some friendships aren’t what they appear to be. Samantha Chase shows us you shouldn’t judge something by it’s outward appearance.
In Wrong Turn we get an amazing and heartfelt story about friendships and love. Drew and Chelsea have so much chemistry. I love the two of them together. I really loved their journey of self discovery they were on during their road trip. I loved watching enemies become friends and then more than friends. I loved their fun, flirty adventures. I laughed when Drew made them miss their flight intentionally and that led to a road trip that would forever change the way they looked at things and how they feel. My heart went out to Chelsea and Drew. I loved how Samantha Chase showed us that some relationships are very toxic and can tear a person down. I really found myself relating to this. I have had my share of toxic relationships. I believe we all have. The struggles were so realistic and relatable.
Samantha Chase has written another five star book. She made me laugh and have heartswooning moments. I was captivated by Wrong Turn from page one. I read it in one night. Just could not put it down. When I finished I thought “wow Samantha Chase wrote the perfect roadtrip book.” Samantha Chase really delivered an amazing book. Wrong Turn is more than just a romance story. Samantha Chase pulled out all the feels for this book and it was phenomenal.
This enemies to lovers romance is the fairy tale that you hope it to be. From the cutting dialogue to the intimate moments you will be glued to Drew and Chelsea’s story
The next one in the Road Trip series just shows there is nothing stopping Samantha Chase in her Road Trip series. This one was full of comedy and lies in a way that was laughable all the way. Chelsea is known to being well the boring one of the group and because of this doesn’t have that many friends. Then we have Drew who is so into her but everytime they are together she doesn’t see him as a man but just annoying. All in all these two, once they take the time to get past their differences are actually perfect. Cannot wait to see what else is in store with this series.
“I received an eBook copy from the publisher for the purpose of an honest review. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own.”
I love romances that start with the characters not really liking each other. I think it is truly more relatable. I don’t off the bat like a lot of people so I relate to that fiercely lol.
This is an enemies to lovers road trip book that you dive into right off the bat. Chelsea and Drew are hilarious and are those people that highly dislike each other but seem to constantly be together for some reason or another.
This was a quick read that was funny and sexy. NOT a whole lot of chaos or angst, but it was one of those books that you just lost an afternoon reading and legitimately laughing out loud.
LOVE this series when I need a good change fo pace and a good steamy scene with some laughs.
This book has so many things I loved about it that I don’t know where to start. Ever have your best friend date somebody you don’t like and then you are also stuck hanging around with their friends you don’t like? Ever have somebody tell you things about somebody so you don’t care for them because of what other people say? Ever conquered a fear? This book is for you. I wanted to jump through the pages and smack Bianca. The road trip Chelsea and Drew went on was great. Once they could actually talk with nobody else around they found out they had the past year all wrong.
Samantha Chase also throws in a little bit from the first book in the series and it fits so perfect.
I could go on and on about this book as it became my new favorite from Ms. Chase but I don’t want to spoil the book for others. By the time you are done reading this I bet you realize you know a few Biancas in real life and may have formed an opinion of somebody based on another person only to find out they were wrong.
I was really looking forward to this book, I thought it would be so cute by the cover and the description. While it was cute, I found myself annoyed with both of the characters. Drew and Chelsea both had issues with their “best friends” getting married and Drew’s best friend tasked him with keeping Chelsea away from their elopement because he thought she would ruin the wedding.
Well, the premise was a little far fetched for me. I understand not wanting your best friend to make a mistake, but to take it to the lengths she did was comical, especially when this “friend” turned out to be pretty terrible. By the end of the book I was rooting for Drew and couldn’t understand Chelsea at all, honestly. This was a light quick read, with some feels because Drew is such a sweet guy, but the premise didn’t work for me. If you want a light beach read with some laughs, this book is probably for you.
Samantha Chase’e newest Road Tripping Book, Wrong Turn, follows the road trip between Chelsea and Drew on route to stop their best friends’ wedding. Or more specifically, Chelsea trying to stop the wedding and Drew trying to stop Chelsea! These two really do not like each other and a road trip would appear to be torture but as they travel together they realize that they have big misconceptions of each other as a result of listening to other people. The adventure that follows is very entertaining. A stand alone but if you read the first Road Tripping book there is an adorable and creative reference to it in this book. As always, a fantastic book from Samantha!
What a pair! Talk about enemies to lovers! I was ready to slap both Chelsea and Drew with their asinine bickering. When they finally figure out that their best friends were not so nice and their relationship took a romantic turn I was on board. I love this road trip series and the interesting developments that happened along the way. I like Drew from the beginning and even though he owned a tech company and seemed to have it together, sometimes he was clueless. Chelsea grew on me and I like her job as a book narrator. She was a smart cookie that had a bad rap thanks to her “best” friend. She took Drew to the mat during their fights. Chels and Drew turned out to be a terrific couple when they got to know each other and the romance took off. Sweet and sexy as the two raced across several states to stop a wedding. Their friends, Jimmy and Bianca were definitely a crazy couple. A few ups and downs but nothing too dramatic with our couple. Just some insane friends drama. Interesting characters that were not the norm. Not quite as good as the first book in the series but worth the read. I’m looking forward to the next installment after the teaser at the end. Fake boyfriend anyone? Bring on Levi and Willow! I voluntarily reviewed an ARC.
“Wrong Turn” by Samantha Chase, book #2 in the Road Tripping series, is a complete standalone featuring all new characters who are completely unrelated to the cast of book #1, but continues with the same theme of main characters falling in love while taking a road trip together.
I’m a big fan of road trip romances, and “Wrong Turn” was a fun one that featured likeable, relatable main characters and witty banter. I really empathized with the female lead, Chelsea, who deserved much better than the way her supposed best friend, Bianca, treated her. Without a doubt, Chelsea was more serious than Bianca and the others in their social group, but to me, that translated to maturity, not being uptight or boring. She was far more loyal to her friends than they deserved, and I loved seeing her finally gain enough confidence to stand up to them. A lot of that confidence had to do with her burgeoning relationship with the male lead, Drew.
Drew was a pretty likeable guy despite coming across as somewhat immature and shallow at first. Over the course of their road trip to Bianca’s wedding, he came to realize that he had misjudged Chelsea – thanks in large part to Bianca’s catty comments about her – and set about convincing her to give their relationship a chance. There were a number of obstacles in their path, but they were obviously happier together than apart, and I found it very easy to cheer them on to their HEA.
Overall, “Wrong Turn” was a short, sweet, and fun story, and I recommend it for fans of contemporary romantic comedies. I look forward to the next book in this series!

I am really liking this new series Samantha Chase is writing. I like the theme, it’s not one that is overly used, and I also like the characters and their journeys so far. We’re only two books in, but I have a feeling …
This book I found particularly good because she developed not only our leads really well, but also the secondary characters. Yes, you might want to *cough* bitch slap *cough* them a time or two, but that’s the whole point. So while yes, I got twitchy at time, I understood the endgame. Everything you expect from a Samantha story you are going to find in Wrong Turn. It’s somewhat emotional, very happy with great characters an really great world.
I do have a tiny thing that I’m only mentioning because it caused the book to lose a little bit of shine because of it. When it comes to romance stories, you’re either going to have their sexual experience on the page or you aren’t. Either way is totally cool. It’s your book, your choice. Here’s what I don’t like. I don’t like building a scene of any kind and then … nothing. To me, that’s like leaving a plot point blowing in the wind and it just makes me go, WHY?! But let me be clear, I’m not talking about fade to black, this was pages of build-up and then *blank* So yeah, when it happened, it completely shut me out of the story/experience for enough time that I didn’t like it. But again… that’s just a me thing.
Road Tripping is a fun new series based on the premise of two people who may not be compatible being stuck in the car together. With witty banter, sparks flying, and enticing chemistry, it’s the setup for a terrific romcom.
Chelsea and Drew have friends in common, but make no mistake. Chelsea and Drew are not friends. They don’t like each other. Hate may not be a strong enough term for the way they feel about each other, and now they’re stuck together driving from New Jersey to South Carolina. Chelsea intends to stop her BFF’s elopement with Drew’s best friend, a guy Chelsea feels is not the right guy for her long-time friend. And Drew is along for the ride to try and stop Chelsea from ruining the wedding.
While I’m a huge fan of this author, this book is not my favorite. The characters came off as hot-headed, superficial and selfish. They communicate mostly through affronts, indignation and exclamations, which kept me from connecting with them or liking them very much. And by the end of the story, there was very little to redeem their personalities and convince me that any growth had occurred.
Chase is one of my favorite authors. I love the book worlds she creates, and her characters capture my heart and stay with me long after their story has ended. Reading her books is an all-consuming experience, with my heart and funny bone both getting a workout. Although this particular book wasn’t for me, I’m eagerly anticipating the next book in this series. And if you’re a fan of reality TV type characters, you’ll certainly enjoy Chelsea and Drew’s story.
3.5 stars
When Chelsea and her decidedly not a friend, Drew, end up on a road trip together, the sparks are flying, not the least because they dislike each other. Or do they…?
This is a cute little rom-com. I ended up liking Chelsea and Drew, and they save this from a lower rating. I like how they eventually got to know each other and see the other for the real person inside, rather than the misinformed opinions they used to have. I admit I’m not fond of the no sex scenes, but it’s not a deal breaker, although I think it would have added more interest to the story. What I don’t like, and the reason for the half a star taken off, is the two best friends, they ruined a bit of my enjoyment. They were pretty over the top and soap opera-ish and I could have done without them. Aside from them, though, I liked Wrong Turn and wouldn’t mind reading more in this series.
Wrong turn turns right. There is no love loss between Chelsea and Drew. They keep getting thrown together because their best friends are engaged. Chelsea finds out that their friends eloped she’s determined to stop them from making the biggest mistake. Drew was supposed to keep Chelsea from finding out, but since she’s hell-bent on stopping the wedding. Chelsea enlists Drew to help. Between heading to the wrong airport and missing all the flights they decide to drive the 14 hours themselves.
A crazy road trip to hell. Laugh out loud funny and a lot of silly. A really fun book to read. I really enjoyed this story.
Chelsea Cooper and Drew Russo meet every Friday night with a group of friends for drinks. Chelsea’s best friend, Bianca is engaged to Drew’s best friend Jimmy—so they see each other frequently. And they don’t get along; not even a little bit. He thinks she’s boring because all she does is talk about her job as a book narrator. Chelsea thinks Drew is obnoxious. Things heat up when Chelsea finds out that Bianca and Jimmy plan to elope and Drew is tasked with keeping Chelsea from ruining the wedding.
Drew and Chelsea decide to fly to the destination wedding venue. Loved that Drew made so many wrong turns to the local airports that the couple was forced to drive to South Carolina. I enjoyed the couples banter—they really couldn’t stand each other. And, they were going to be stuck in Drew’s car for two days! This plot choice made for a fun read. Loved the road trip snack stops and conversations. Loved the scene when Chelsea decides to conquer her fear of bridges by driving over a 17 mile bridge! Samantha Chase does a fabulous job with this scene as Drew talks a truly petrified Chelsea through the drive. That’s when I realized Drew was one of the good guys and that he and Chelsea had chemistry.
Both Chelsea and Drew realized that they let their friends influence their opinions of one and other. Their relationship changes as they drive toward their destination. I liked that Drew was on a mission to get to know Chelsea on his own terms
Samantha Chase’s Road Tripping series is different from her other contemporary book series—it focusses completely on the couple and their road trip destination. The down to earth banter between the couple kept me reading -it was so spot on and relatable. I loved that the author dealt with Chelsea’s friendship with Bianca. It’s hard to admit and accept that a longtime friend—isn’t really your friend. Wrong Turn is a sexy romance between two people who weren’t looking for love. An unexpected road trip provides Chelsea and Drew with the opportunity to get to know each other on their own terms.
Samantha Chase’s Wrong Turn is a fun, flirty, sexy opposites attract romance. It’s the perfect read during the #StayAtHome lockdown! You will fall in love with Drew and Chelsea as they navigate through several roadblocks during their journey. And watch for the grand gesture-it’s pure Samantha Chase.
Light, sweet, and cute, Wrong Tun is a fun road trip romance. This is the second instalment in Samantha Chase’s Road Tripping series. It’s packed with witty banter and laugh out loud moments.
Whilst I enjoyed the overall story feel as connected with Chelsea and Drew the way I do with other characters she writes. They have an enemies to lovers story and have an instant antagonistic relationship but end up hitting the road to ‘stop the elopement’ of their two friends. The actual romantic relationship lacked some depth and I would have loved a bit more buildup and a more romance feel to this story. Still a solid, fun read however.
They can’t stand each other until they actually get to know each other. This fun romance involves Drew and Chelsea who think they know about the other and don’t like what they know until they are forced to spend some time together. Quickly realizing they were mislead in their opinions we have a road trip of fun and romance.
The dialogue is entertaining and the emotional buildup is sweet. Real issues are covered in this book such as fights with friends, putting others down, and standing up for yourself. Their two friends who are getting married are beyond the pale and I think my mouth was perpetually dropped in shock over their ego and blind actions. It certainly made me cheer for Chels when she stuck her ground at the resort and spoke her mind later.
This book refers to the first in the series, but as the book not as knowing the characters which was so creative! I loved the jobs they had and how it helped create a perfect rom com moment near the end. A great read with entertaining and personable characters!
Wrong Turn by Samantha Chase was such a fun and delightful read. Chelsea Cooper and Drew Russo share a group of friends that meets regularly, but do not always see eye to eye. They tend to push each other’s button every chance they get. When Chelsea’s best friend sets off to get married, she is determined to stop the wedding as she is not a fan of the groom to be. Drew, the groom’s best friend, is determined to stop her.
This is how they end up on a road trip together. But neither expected to discover so much more about the other with every wrong turn. I loved watching them get to know each other. Somehow on the way to their destination, they went from taking shots at each other to laughs, witty banter and eventually more. Wrong Turn by Samantha Chase was a witty, light and charming read.
