Mistaken identity, drunk texts, and hysterical mishaps… just another day in my life.Girls all over the world spill the tea to me about their most intimate questions. They thank me for talking about sex with them. For fixing their love lives.I wonder if I’d still be a relationship influencer if they knew what a train wreck my own love life is?If I was writing anyone else advice, it would say things … writing anyone else advice, it would say things like:
Never drunk-text your ex-boyfriend.
No, seriously, that’s a terrible idea.
But if you insist, maybe double-check the number first.
Oops.
But I guess I give good…text, because the stranger I messaged wrote back.
And I responded.
He doesn’t have to put up with my colorful personality—as my hot next-door neighbor describes me. Or my messy schedule.
This relationship is as seemingly perfect as my online persona.
Until we agree to meet up.
When he meets the real me, will he hate me forever?
Or will we be one day telling our grandkids about that wrong text, right love?

Persy has created quite the reputation for herself for giving others advice on love, life and everything in between. She is spontaneous, open and she believes that her Prince Charming is out there even if the men she has met have turned into frogs.
Experience has shown Ford that love is fallacy that only brings pain and heartbreak in the long term but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t appreciate woman. He thrives on the order and routine of his live so when the walking disaster named Persy becomes his neighbor he wants to keep his distance, but she keeps drawing him back like a moth to a flame.
The interactions between them were more of an advance and retreat scenario which is only complicated by the humorous texts that Persy is sharing with a stranger. This is a sweet and sexy story about finding love with a person and at a time you never expected.
I enjoyed this book. I like how His identity was kept a secret at the beginning. These two push each others buttons in the best way and through their animosity they learn more about themselves and each other. They end up letting their guards down and finding love. I like when dual connections happen and even more so when they work out. She and He do well with their conversations though I do have to say that if they actually paid attention to the fine details they would have figured it out sooner. They were set up to not like each other even before they met, but luckily they both end up thinking for themselves and learning that they were wrong.
I love that this wasn’t heavy in the angst and that everything worked out in the end. This is a great story that I’m sure you will enjoy.
Two people who meet by accident because of a wrong number. This book was so funny.
The constant interruptions during Persy’s podcasts, the general grumpiness of the “Neighbor from Hell”, and the texts and emails were probably my favorite parts of this book.
This book is a slooooow burn. Those aren’t usually my favorite but for these two, it felt right. Persy definitely felt like my life coach throughout this book. Her podcasts definitely made me get a little introspective.
Persy’s family is awesome!! I definitely want to see them again!!
What a great story! I really liked Persy. Her lifestyle and occupation is very present day in a way that really adds to the story. At first I have to admit to thinking Ford was kind of a jerk but he quickly changed my mind. He’s particular. They are opposites in so many ways. I loved the texting in the book. I ADORED the epilogue!
Loved his and hers amazing intense emotional broken heartstopping love story
Grabbed my heart
all the feels
ready for more
If you enjoyed “You’ve Got Mail” you’re going to Love this book! Claudia Burgoa gives us something perfect to add some lightness to our days while we are “Sheltered in Place” and I for one LOVED IT!
Persephone (Persy) is a social media influencer, she has a weekly podcast, and she is a therapist, but for some reason men find her less serious then she really is, I personally think it’s because of their own shortcomings because you have to be a serious person to pull off all three of those am I right!
Ford is the the hot guy next door only for Persy he is the ultimate grumpy guy from next door from day one, he likes his peace and quite and Persy is anything but. Which makes for some interesting times. There is so much back and forth between Ford and Persy it had me laughing out loud so many times I lost count.
I have always enjoyed Claudia’s Rom-Com’s but this has to be the best one that she has written to date. I think this was going to be a standalone originally but I am THRILLED to see that we will be getting more, up next is Ford’s twin brother Nate and I’m not telling you who the lucky girl is you’ll have to read this book to figure it out.
I highly recommend this book to anyone that enjoys Romantic Comedies.
Happy Reading!!!
I could not stop laughing I think. The hilarious texts and banter between Persy and Ford just about did me in from the first interaction. They couldn’t be more opposite but that’s what makes them work.
It’s not just them that make the story but also all the other characters; their families, friends, etc.
This is fun, flirty, sweet, funny, and sexy!
I just listened to the audio and the cast of narrators just brought this to a whole new level. I practically could not stop listening!
4.5 stars – thoroughly enjoyed this slow-burn, mistaken identity romcom that explored friendship, love and the pitfalls of fame. As is common with this author, there was also the strong theme of family – the good and the bad.
“Why would I bother to fit in your box? I accept you the way you are, grunts and all.”
Persephone AKA Persy is a social media influencer and relationship & sex advice podcaster. She’s helped plenty of people but struggles to help herself, due to her presence in the limelight and misconceptions about her. She’s beautiful, colourful and really upbeat. Even her hot new grumpy neighbour can’t bring her down.
A drunken text to a wrong number develops into a warm, funny, text-friendship. It feels real and so good to just be herself. At the same time, her relationship with her grumpy neighbour seems to be developing into a strong friendship, too, with a some added sexual frisson!
“I’m glad the doors between our penthouses are shut, because my self-control is weakening every single day.”
This was such a great read. I loved the interactions between Persy and her neighbour. He was brash, direct and pretty rude, but she wasn’t particularly phased by him. Their verbal sparring was funny and often filled with some sexy tension. And then Persy had this whole other thing going on with her mysterious texter – that was also funny and filled with some serious sextual tension, too! LOL. The whole story flowed pretty well and was a great study on love, trust and relationships, and for being accepted and loved for who you really are. #HappyisU
Received in exchange for a honest review.
What I love the most about this book is that there is no angst or drama. We have two completely opposite people that start as neighbors who tolerate one another to being their forever person. It doesn’t happen overnight and we get to see it unfold and watch the attraction grow and sizzle.
This was a fun feel good book. We have Ford who was reclusive due to how people were in the past towards him. Ford was gruff but a sweet and loving guy. He was very loyal to his twin brother and was wary of his step brother and his wife with good reason. So when Persy, his sister-inlaws bestie, takes over his brother’s penthouse he is wary. He doesn’t know what to think of her. she is loud and vivacious. Kind and funny and a hard worker. Persy is wary of Ford due to what she was told about him by her bestie. As she gets to know him she sees a different person. She doesn’t see the selfish one that was described to her but a kind caring person.
The book is fun and light hearted. I love the texting and how Ford and Persy get to know one another in so many ways. How they grow on one another and learn to trust and support each other. Ford finds someone he feels safe with and can trust. He finds someone who complements him and has him begin to come out of his shell more. I love the moments when he gives his opinion on her show. I love how Persy begins to see that people aren’t as they always seem and she learns to love and love someone that accepts her for her and not because she is a fun girl. Ford sees beyond the outside and to who Persy really is.
Such a fun entertaining story that just has you smile the whole way through. You fall in love with the characters and their story to falling in love via text and in person.
You could say it is predictable, he is not into, she definitely looks for HEA.
But… the book is written in so different style, so modern #love #relationship.
Percy is psychologist, sex educator and life lover. She is a blogger and book writer. This is her life, fun, open and colourful.
Ford, the biggest grump and her neighbour. He is not into relationship, moving together and definitely not into love.
So , how they get to the HEA ?
Fun, entertaining and laughing out loud book. Enjoy!
This book was one of the better fun flirty rom-coms I have read in a while. I have only read a few of Claudia Burgoa’s books but I am slowly becoming a big fan. Her way of telling a story and creating unique characters is captivating. I don’t think the blurb does this story justice. It is more than flirty random text that connect these two.
Persephone Brassard (Persey)- Sex therapist, self help author, social media personality, podcaster. Persey, lives her life in the public eye. It has created all sort of issues for her. She has had difficultly surrounding herself with people that truly see her under her public persona, outside her family.
Langford Chadwick (Chad)- Chad is Persey’s grumpy neighbor, a man of mystery. He seems to not like anyone other than his Brother Nate(wick).
I loved the story of Persey and Chad. It did not go quite as I expected but I think that is why I loved it so much. The twist of the story line and the way the characters come together is unique. I loved the way this relationship develops but also how each of the characters have their own moments of self-discovery.
I really don’t want to give to much away because the twist of the story is what makes this such a good read. Be prepared for fun flirty banter. Quirky fun characters. Supporting Characters who only enhance the story. This was a 4.5/5 read for me. I would recommend you add this to your TBR Pile.
Claudia Burgoa made me fall in love with the process of falling in love in Wrong Text, Right Love. It had some unique and fascinating storytelling that I have never ever read in romance. And I doubt I will read anytime soon. Powerful emotions, intriguing characters and mindblowing writing made Wrong Text, Right Love one of my top 2020 read.
Ford is a very private person who is not into people. He is a programming genius and co owner of a very successful company but he is kind of a recluse who doesn’t believe in true love. Persy is exactly his opposite. A flamboyant, warm, colourful, over friendly and passionate girl who is a famous social media influencer and dating advisor. She lives her life openly and fully. And by some twisted coincidences they become neighbour. They begin on an awkward and grumpy way and become somehow reluctant friends. And then Persy becomes friend with Lang after drunk texting in a particularly difficult night. And Ford becomes friend with Joy. What’s exactly going on?
This story was so cleverly and flawlessly narrated! The format was unique and I was totally mesmerised by this beautiful narrative. The author took us to the depth of love and friendship through long conversations. Sometimes between Lang and Joy. Sometimes between Ford and Persy. Usually it would distract me and turn me off, but the writing was so mindblowing that I fall in love with those conversations. Lang and Joy’s text dates are more on the open and raw and vulnerable side. While Ford and Persy have full of teasing, taunting, brooding and suppressed attraction. Ford has this soft and caring and sweet side behind his aloof and hard exterior. He is basically having trust issues but Percy opened up his heart to risk and possibilities. Persy has apparently a picture perfect life but she has this insecure, vulnerable and craving for someone who will love and respect the real her. They have this insane chemistry that goes from infuriating to friendly to downright steamy and heart achingly deep. The secondary characters were incredible too!
Wrong Text, Right Love by Claudia Burgoa is a refreshing and different kind of take on modern day love and relationships. The emotions, the characters, the plot and the writing- everything was two hundred percent perfect and brilliant.
Received ARC for honest review
I received a free ARC copy of this book from the author prior to release and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This is a stand alone story and its written very differently than any of the authors other books I have read before. The story is also very different from what I have read by this author. It is very much a clean romance (sex only happens at the very end of the story) and extremely SLOW burn. It is very much a texting romance, a secret identity and friends/neighbors falling for each other.
This story features two very interesting families and main characters.
Persy is our female lead and she has a very cool family with some awesome siblings. She is a relationship expert who is single and writing a self help book on being happy with you and host of a blog and weekly podcasts. At the start of the story she is broke and has no place to live and so her agent finds her a penthouse.
The Penthouse is owned by Chad and he is the grumpy neighbor who likes quiet and is anti relationships. His step brother, Clyde is married to Persy’s agent and so he hooks her up with a penthouse next door to Chad. Chad has a twin brother and also a very complicated family and life and lots of big secrets.
And thats all I am spoiling as this story is best read without knowing what will happen next. Its very much a clean romance, they don’t even kiss until 90% of the story happens but they have a really wonderful romance with lots of wit and chemistry. I absolutely adored this story, and every single character in this story. I hope the author writes a book for the siblings, they were so much fun.
Wrong Text, Right Love is a truly fun slow burn romance that will have you laughing so hard that it hurts the cheeks. The banter and wit of the the storyline kept me wanting more. The characters are full of charm and quirkiness that you cannot help but love. I was engrossed from the very first page with this story. It was the perfect pace and just the right amount of swoon to keep you reading. What a wonderful story indeed to tell the kids someday if a wrong text to someone turned out to be the the love of your life. I don’t want to give anything away with this story because it is just to much fun to let you find out yourself how good it is. Well done Claudia. Your one of my favourite writes. Xo
Wrong Text, Right Love by Claudia Burgoa is a fabulous , beautiful slowburn romance between neighbors. Persephone( Persey) Brassard is this sassy social media influencer, sex therapist , podcaster and author. She lives in the public eye which makes having a life hard and having a relationship(s) even harder. Persey just wants friends to be around her because of her personality, not because of her social media presence. Same goes for what she’s looking for in a boyfriend.
Langford Chadwick (Chad) is Persey’s gruff, hot next-door neighbor. At first , there isn’t much we know about Chad so he’s mister mysterious. He doesn’t like anyone other than people who are in his small little world of trust and when I say small, it’s small world of trust.
What we get is a beautifully written, unique romance about two souls who are perfect for one another. An extrovert and an introvert that are made for one another. Flirty, Sizzling, Amazing, Intense, Sassy, Sweet, Witty and Fun Romance that gives great feels and chemistry. Without giving too much away, there is twists and turns that will take you on quite the emotional journey. Ms. Burgoa has written a great story that will tug on the heartstrings and bring the laughs.
My Rating: 4.5 stars ********
OMG! I loved this rom-com book—this is a MUST READ! This is an unputdownable, fun, flirty, and delightful slow-burn story that summed up so succinctly the very essence of romance. It was such a great read. I laughed out loud more times than I could count, but also swooning over the handsome, tall, brooding, rich, arrogant, and charming as hell Langford (Ford) Chadwick. This book had so many fantastic lines, witty banter, and inner dialogue—this was definitely a breath of fresh air. This page-turning story completely encapsulates the madness of the first stirrings of love and lust when you can’t get enough of someone, and all the games between Persy and Ford were well done—yet they each have challenges they need to face. Ford is the quintessential software geek or brains behind the company that he and his twin brother, Nate, owns. Ford is shy and doesn’t like talking in front of large crowds, he prefers working behind the scene having his privacy, and he hates noisy neighbors. Ford doesn’t do relationships, promises, feelings or love. Persephone (Persy) Brassard is a social media influencer, podcaster, and sex therapist who is very outgoing, talkative, and she wants a relationship to fall in love. I loved Persy—she was entertaining and loved her outgoing spirit. Ford and Persy are polar opposites. In fact, the only thing they have in common is that she lives in the condo next to him—renting—can opposites attract? Or can they find enough common ground to let their attraction ignite and risk falling in love? From Persy’s hilarious or sometimes cynical inner dialogue to Ford’s sharp retorts, the chemistry between them is irresistibly adorable and palpable. Their battle of wits is tremendously fun—acerbic and sexy and filled with tension. The result is a wicked, witty romance that will capture your heart long before Ford manages to capture Persy’s heart. If FUN is what you are after, look no further—read WRONG TEXT, RIGHT LOVE about Ford and Persy. Their journey to love is intoxicatingly quirky, perfectly paced and all around fun. This is a book I can reread over and over again. Claudia Burgoa satisfies hearts longing for laughter in their love stories. Claudia Burgoa manages to weave humorous plotlines centered on romantic ideas with artfully developed main characters. I HIGHLY recommend this book if you want a laugh and feel some heat.
Wrong Text, Right Love was a good slow-burn. It was an enemies-to-lovers with that smidge of secret identity.
But while I was reading I kept thinking…haven’t I read this before? This plot is kinda similar to Maybe Later. Just switch out email and texting!
Despite the similarities, WTRL was still a fun read. I definitely enjoyed the expansion on love and sexuality and how they can affect modern relationships. Plus Ford was a great character. His progression was worth reading as he learned how love worked and how to even have a relationship.
And I loved Persy’s siblings. I hope we see them again!
WTRL was a perfect RomCom to start the summer with!
First off let me say this was not what I was expecting. I was expecting a bit more of a rom-com. I struggled at times but am happy I stuck with it!
Persy and Ford are total opposites to say the least! Persy moves in next door and is loud and all grumpy Ford wants is peace and quiet. But Ford cannot seem to stay away from her. Their banter was by far my favorite part of this book. But look out this is some serious slow burn.
The side characters, the laughs and that cat..some truly laugh out loud moments. I hope we get more of the family!
The theme of this book was one we all need to take to heart..Just do You!
I’ll admit, it took me a few chapters to get into this one…..but I’m so glad I stuck with it.
There is so much more to this book than just your average RomCom. The best thing you can always do is just be yourself; don’t try to hide behind something you aren’t.
Ford & Persephone are such a great couple. Watching their relationship grow through the pages was so enjoyable.
Just be you and you will be happy.
Wrong Text, Right Love was such a great escape. Percy is an influencer who does her own sex and relationship podcast who is trying to find her own happy while dealing with interfering publishers, a crazy family and a life long friend who she trusts just a bit too much. Ford has been burned and just wants to do his thing in privacy with out peopling at all. Percy moves in beside Ford he can’t help but give his opinion on her pod cast advice on a regular basis. A drunken night and a new phone with no contacts leads Percy (who says her name is Joy) to text a stranger ( known as Lang) instead of her ex boyfriend.
Before you know it feelings grow between Percy and Ford at the same time a relationship is growing between Joy and Lang. What happens when the truth comes out and they realize who Joy and Lang really are?
I really liked this book. It was fun and funny but wasn’t lacking the feels at all.
