It’s not every day you wake up to a stranger getting into your bed. Only, he isn’t a stranger at all, he’s my best friend’s hot older brother…and apparently my new roommate. Having him in my space, driving me crazy, isn’t a problem at all. Nope. All I need to do is keep control of the situation… But that’s easier said than done. Shawn Lassiter is the kind of distraction I don’t need. Those … Lassiter is the kind of distraction I don’t need.
Those muscles and tattoos, wearing nothing but a towel, making me coffee in the morning.
It’s more than any girl can resist. Right?
But Shawn is off-limits, even if his eyes are saying differently.
Years ago, back when I still had my crush, he destroyed friendships with his reckless playboy antics.
There’s no way I’m touching those perfectly formed abs now. I don’t care how nice and responsible he’s acting.
I’m the smart girl–the glasses-wearing, book-reading workaholic. I can totally do this.
After all, it’s only for two and a half months.
I’ll be on my best behavior…even if Shawn isn’t.

Fun book
you’ll like it!
I liked this book, would recommend it. Not overly sexual, but still a good read. Look forward to the next book in series.
Wrong bedroom turns out right!
Jessie Santana needs a temporary roommate while her roommate Talia, is touring Europe with her dance company because she couldn’t afford the rent by herself. Talia’s brother Shawn Lassiter needs a place to stay instead of couch surfing. Shawn gabs to opportunity without hearing from Jessie first when he gets to the apartment he ends up in the wrong bedroom. Talia told Shawn not to sleep with Jessie after he slept with Talia’s friends in high school.
Jessie’s dream was working in publishing and moving home would derail the dream. Shawn had always taken the easy way out with people and with work so his transferring to New York City to work for the brewery was a big step for him. Plus owning up to dating Jessie when Talia didn’t approve was a big step forward.
Wrong Bed, Right Roommate is a fun read where the reader cheers for Jessie and Shawn to make it and the epilogue brought the story to a perfect close.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own
A nice easy read
This was okay. The writing flowed fairly well, but I wasn’t a huge fan of the characters. They were both pretty immature, and while Jessie wasn’t too bad, Shawn was. I didn’t really like him as a hero. I don’t have to have over the top alpha millionaires, but I would like a H with a little bit of ambition and strength. I’m not sure that I loved them as a couple, but they do get their HEA in the end. This was a first for me from this author, but I would definitely read her again.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book.
Wrong Bed, Right Roommate is the first book I read and finished for the New Year (2019). I’m glad I got a chance to read it because I love reading about characters that generally would not fall for each other. Both characters are the complete opposite of each other, which is one of many reasons why I enjoyed this book. The female character Jessie Santana is a neat-freak, well-organized, on-time person who doesn’t like when things do not go as planned. Her best friend from high school and now her roommate is heading to London for a while, which means Jessie will need a roommate to help pay half the rent for their apartment in New York City. Jessie never expected her best friend Talia to suggest her brother as the temporary roommate. Shawn Lassiter was the popular sexy guy back in high school that she happened to have a crush on back in the day. Unfortunately, Shawn ended up with two of his sister’s best friends and things went downhill then. Jessie needs to stay focused with her job and not end up being one of Shawn’s conquests. Unfortunately, things will happen between the two that will make Jessie and Shawn not be able to stay away from each other.
I enjoyed Wrong Bed, Right Roommate for the main characters in the story. Jessie reminded me of myself being well-organized and having everything planned. I also felt connected with her, when she was stressed due to wanting to be perfect at work, etc. She also loved reading, which is another plus. She’s the sweet always good girl in life. Although, she does change in the story, which will surprise everyone.
Shawn though is the complete opposite of Jessie, but I loved his personality too. He was turning himself around for what everyone thought he was in the beginning. He proved several times he was not like he was in high school. He knew how to charm in the story though, and he also knew how to take care of Jessie.
I won’t go into details with the very steamy scenes between the characters, but WOW! I will say one of my favorite parts was when Shawn hinted to Jessie that her secret was not a secret. Gotta love the embarrassing moments.
Overall, I enjoyed reading this book. This happened to be the first book I’ve ever read from Rebecca Brooks. I’ve added her other books to my TBR pile on Goodreads though now too.
There was one thing that bothered me in the book, but it didn’t stop me from reading it. I didn’t like how a particular person reacted to what happened between the main characters. I think the person could’ve handled it better. Although, that character was back in my good graces towards the end of the story.
Will, I read the next book in the series? Yes, definitely. I hope Rebecca writes the secondary characters stories and who they will end up with accidentally, especially Talia.
I give this book 4-stars and recommend it to contemporary romance and even New Adult readers out there.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. When I read the title, “Wrong Bed, Right Roommate”, I thought imagine all that could go wrong. Ms. Brooks took me on a rollercoaster ride and I loved every minute of it. Shawn is trying to prove to himself and everyone that knows him that he is no longer the teenage high school screw up. Jessie is trying to show that she deserves the job she landed and that she is no longer just a nerdy wallflower. I loved the sparks that flew between the two of them. I cheered, booed, laughed, felt sorry for, and rejoiced thru the entire book. I really enjoyed this book and look forward to reading more of Ms. Brooks books.
This is the first book I’ve read by this author and I absolutely loved it! I’m a huge fan of sweet and funny romance stories like this one where the couple doesn’t jump in bed together right away, well at least to have sex that is. It allows for the tension to build up when it’s done like this.
I give Jessie huge kudos since she really tried hard to keep her hands off of Shawn. I wouldn’t have lasted one minute in her place. Especially after that steamy towel scene! I honestly feel that Shawn was perfect for Jessie since while it’s great to be a career driven responsible adult, it’s all pointless if you can’t ever loosen up and have a little fun in life.
I’m a huge new fan of this author and will definitely be checking out more from her in the future! I’m very much looking forward to reading more of this series as well. I highly recommend reading this to anyone.

A sweet and sexy best friend’s older brother and opposites attract romance. A summer fling turned so much more. Beautiful storyline and great characters. I really enjoyed this book.
Jessie Santana lives with her best friend Talia in NYC. She’s quiet, focused and organized. Shawn Lassiter is Talia’s older brother and he goes from woman to woman and job to job. He’s never been the settling down type. He ends up in NYC for a new job at a brewery and ends up being Jessie’s roommate for the summer while Talia is in London with her dance group. Shawn can’t believe his gorgeous roommate is the same nerdy girl he knew in high school. Jessie knows Shawn’s reputation and tries to stay away but finds herself being drawn into him.
Sassy goodness! The latest from Rebecca Brooks is a fast paced best friend’s older brother story with an easy to like couple. They’re both starting new jobs that are important to their futures, but the attraction that swiftly rears it’s head between them is sure to be a distraction. There were a few plot holes that could have been livened up a bit, but overall a solid read.
Jessie Santana never expected to wake up to a strange man climbing into her bed, but when she flips on the light and sees who it actually is, it’s even worse! Her childhood crush who also happens to be her roomie best friend’s older brother stands before her in all of his muscular glory! She can’t believe she’s going to be stuck with him for more than two months!
Shawn Lassiter is finally starting to grow up and figure out a little bit about how the big bad world works, and moving to New York is a new opportunity for him with the extended job that he’s starting. Finding a friendly face at his sister’s house would have been nice, but Jessie is anything but excited to see him … until the sparks start to fly!
Jessie and Shawn have known one another for a long time, since he is her best friend’s older brother. She has tried hard to not be attracted to the player. She even promised her friend she was not interested.
Shawn does not even remember the little friend his sister has had for so long. He just needs a place to crash, since he starts a new job in such a foreign place as New York. The lust he feels for her suddenly is not welcome.
This book is what one would call a slow burn. I love that they can find common ground. I found the characters to be full of heart, heat, and a fun joy to read. I am excited to see more of what will come in this series.

Wrong Bed, Right Roommate by Rebecca Brooks a five-star read that is so, so right. This was such a great story, yes it was a little predictable in places, but not so badly that it wasn’t still a lot of fun, and overall so good that I was sucked in and didn’t care. There was something special about Shawn Lassiter and how he went from being the boy behind ‘The Shawn Effect’ to become the man he was at the end of the story his journey was just simply sublime. What I would give to have a slurp of one of those Thunder brews, I could almost taste some of them on my tongue. I am so glad that I found this author and I can’t wait to read more from them as I enjoyed the writing so much.
Wrong Bed, Right Roommate is a sexy standalone best friend’s older brother / roommate romance. Jessie is an introverted bookworm who is dedicated to being successful at her new job . Shawn, Jessie’s best friend’s older brother, was known as the good-looking, popular baseball player at high school who never took notice of Jessie. Circumstances led to him being her temporary roommate.
I like how the two are opposites and yet they gravitate towards each other. I also liked how Shawn owns up to his faults at the beginning of the book and meets them head on – striving towards maturity, trying to prove himself at a new job, and avoiding the playboy lifestyle. Jessie, I liked her as a heroine, but sometimes annoyed me during the first quarter fo the book because she jumped to conclusions and was so quick to assume that Shawn couldn’t possibly have changed over the years. While this book was predictable, I still found it to be an enjoyable read I received this book for free.
I loved this story. This is a best friends brothers romance. But it’s so much more. It’s the story of woman learning to have fun in life and take a chance. It’s the story of man who has lived a selfish life who decides to make a change. Jessie has always known Shawn as her best friends older brother. She had a crush on him until he slept with two of their friends in high school and broke up friendships. Jessie’s best friend is out of town for a few months and the person that is supposed to rent her room bails out. In moves in Shawn for a few months. From their first encounter this story is full of moments that had me laughing out loud, swooning, wanting to pull my hair out in frustration and not being able to put the book down. When they finally let go of everything they are afraid of and try to be happy they hit an obstacle. Misunderstanding happen and both them have to learn what each other really meant to them. I just loved this story because of this push and pull relationship. I was rooting for their happiness. This is a must read for romance fans. Talk about steamy! It’s also a story that will make your heart melt. I hope we hear more from these characters in the future.
Sweet romance, steamy scenes, sweet love!!
Shawn and Jessie are such a picture of best friends brother that is off limits. They have always liked each other, but Shawn hasn’t always been the best guy. Their relationship develops and feelings get hurt. They figure out how much their relationship is worth and it is such a sweet ending. I recommend this book to all romance lovers!
This story made my heart melt. I wanted to strangle Shawn, but he has insecurities like we all do. They fight the attraction which makes you want to scream at them. Other people’s opinions irritate me, but they fix it in the end. I really enjoyed this story and it was a well written best friends brother romance.
Just like most women out there, I’ve had that moment in my life where I ‘dreamed the dream’, ‘wished the wish’ when it came to my brother’s best friend. I absolutely adore reading this genre and seeing how it could come to fruition in fiction.
So, I understand how Jessie felt seeing her high school hot crush hooking up with her friends and being ignored by him. It hurt terribly, and that hurt and dismissal turned into dislike and hatred. Feelings that never seemed to wane over the years as Shawn continued to be a self-absorbed douche.
But, Shawn hasn’t had the easiest of times. He’s wandering rather aimlessly through his life and really, he needs direction and structure. Now, after years of fruitless endeavors he’s finally found a job he enjoys, but having just moved to the area, he’s homeless and crashing on a friend’s couch. When the chance comes to sublet his sister, Talia’s, room in the apartment she shares with Jessie, he jumps at it, thinking that everything is okay.
Jessie is unaware of Shawn’s imminent arrival and gets the fright of her life when he mistakenly lands in her bed, while she is sleeping.
This could go from bad to worse, but Jessie discovers a different size to Shawn. One she can’t resist for long and soon they are spending every spare moment together. They’re hot and heavy with the whole summer ahead of them. These two were very convincing from the start. The chemistry was there from the moment they met again, and even when they were trying not to fall for each other, it was so obvious they couldn’t help doing just that.
But what happens when summer is over?
I really enjoyed this book. Shawn was so different from the usual hero. He’s not rich or famous. In fact, he’s just a regular guy who’s not always made the best decisions in life. He’s sweet and caring. He might not have much experience in the boyfriend/ relationship department but he’ll do his best for his girl.
Until Talia comes back into the picture.
Will she embrace their being together?
Up until this moment, I’d liked Talia, even though she wasn’t in the story much, she’s a side character, but for all she was Jessie’s best friend, she had a very selfish side to her and she let it out when she discovered what had been going on. Jessie has always felt insecure and inadequate next to Talia and this just makes her spiral back into a bad place. Shawn’s reaction isn’t much better and it all implodes badly.
Is this the end or will they find a way back to each other?

This was an enjoyable read for me.
I liked the characters of Jessie and Shawn together. I felt like they complimented each other and they were what the other needed in their life. Shawn is a happy go lucky guy that doesn’t stick with much and tends to bail when the going gets tough. Jessie is a workaholic with too much on her plate and way too hard on herself. I loved that Shawn brought out a lighter Jessie and helped her relax in the same way that Jessie helped Shawn go for what he wants and starts seeing himself less than a loser?
My only complaint was for as much as Jessie “hated” him they did hook up pretty quick. I would have preferred to read more about the build up and difficulties living with someone you may not hate as much as you say you do. There was a lot of internal head conversation but it would have been interesting to have more physical interactions like flirting.
Both Jessie and Shawn come packaged with a lot of emotional baggage. When they are heating up the sheets, they can forget all the reasons why it’s a bad idea. All the other parts of their lives that might fall apart. Despite all these misgivings, they continue to form a bond that goes deeper than what they initially intended. The sparks that fly are intense. When his sister returns earlier than planned it all comes crashing down. The author does an incredible job of playing out the ending scenes that resolves the couples issues and sets them on the path of forever love. It was a classically done plot and worked really well.
She is back! We have a new series, or hopefully a new series with this wonderful book. We meet Jessie who is a perfectionist but not very secure in herself. Her best friend Talia has gone away to London and the person who was supposed to sublease her apartment along with Jessie backed out, and now Jessie is stressing since she can’t afford the apartment by herself. Talia’s brother ends up taking the sublease without Jessie’s knowledge and he gives her the surprise of her life. Jessie does not like Shawn based on her experience with him, or knowledge of him when they were in high school. Shawn could not believe that this was the Jessie he remembered because she was beautiful but he knew that he could not go there since he promised his sister he would not mess with any of her friends he has messed up enough in that avenue. Jessie and Shawn can not keep their hands off each other but they both knew that was not very smart, but they couldn’t help it and fell in love until it all blew up in their faces. Now what? Do they lose Talia or do they lose what they have? Well grab a copy and find out, you will Enjoy it!
