When I was fifteen, a single bullet changed my life. I spent the next decade trying to outrun the devastation of my past, building an empire that would shield me from whatever life could throw at me.But all the money in the world couldn’t help me when I found a screaming newborn abandoned on my doorstep.I’d never wanted to be a father. Passing the sludge that ran through my veins down to an … veins down to an innocent child seemed like a tragedy. But there she was—pink cheeks, red hair, and mine.
Somehow, against all logic, that little girl became the best thing that ever happened to me. It was impossible to stay lost in the past when I was the only one who could protect her future.
Which is exactly why, when her mother came back four years later, I was ready for battle.
If only I could stop myself from falling in love with her during the war.

This is the best duet I’ve read in a long time! 10 stars for this one!
We pick up where Written With Regret left off, and let me tell you, if you think book 1 blew your mind wait till you finish this one!
I will just say, because I refuse to give anything away in my review, that these two try to heal together, and with Rosalee, omg she has to be the best child character in a story I’ve ever read!
Aly has a way with duets like no other I’ve ever read, I’d even say this is her best duet yet, I don’t know where she gets her inspiration for these but my god, I could not put this one down!
If you love duet’s, this is the one to get, Aly will completely blow your mind! Grab this one as soon as it’s released, if you haven’t read the first one…what are you waiting for!
Holy now this was an amazing ending to this duet! Both books from start to finish had me entranced in this story. Aly Martinez has this writing style that captures the reader and doesn’t let go until the book is finished. Sooooo much happens in this book, I’m not even sure where to start my review. But I definitely don’t want to ruin it for anyone, this whole duet needs to be read with absolutely no spoilers. This is Definitely one of my favorite duets this year, a must read forsure.
A riveting conclusion to the Regret Duet. It was gut wrenching, held so many mic dropping moments, and the plot was so well orchestrated absolutely nothing was missed. Ultimately, I loved this duet and once I was finished, after drying my tears, I had to sit and just take it all in. For over a day now I’ve been wrapped in a Regret book coma and I’m still trying to pull myself out of this world. So, yes, this book not only deserves 5 stars, it really deserves more.
At the end of Written With Regret, we receive not only a huge cliffhanger, which is to be expected with a duet, but also a huge jaw dropping mic drop moment. If you haven’t read book one yet, please stop and pick it up immediately, because anything from here on out will spoil that book for you. Written With You picks up right where Written With Regret left off.
Willow, Caven, and Rosalee all have to find a new norm given the secret Willow has been keeping. (This is given away not only at the end of book 1, but also pretty early in book 2) Caven doesn’t want to let Willow off the hook very easily. However, Caven is a man with his own dark secret and he feels like a hypocrite for getting so angry, plus, they were ultimately beginning to fall for one another. But like any Catfishing episode will tell you…a name and few details is still betrayal. Caven doesn’t feel he would take it quite so hard, if it were just him in the picture, but he has a daughter and he would do anything to protect her.
Willow has only done things with the interest of Rosalee at heart. Yes, she’s always heroized Caven, but she never thought things would progress like they had, happy about it, sure, but ultimately her life is about Rosie. When things go sideways, as broken up as she is about Caven, she will still do anything in the name of keeping Rosalee in her life. She is the only family she has left in the world.
The beautiful thing about having Rosie, in her perfect youth, she makes things so simple in accepting people, understanding forgiveness, giving and receiving love, you name it, Rosie puts a spin on it. Without knowing she’s doing it she pretty much makes the adults feel two inches tall. Why is it adults always have to complicate things and children can makes things so simple? Rosalee has to be one of my all time favorite child characters. Her enthusiasm, her openness to love, her joy, and mostly the way Caven loves and takes care of her is something I adored reading. If there is nothing else you like about this book, you will love the interaction between father and daughter.
Not only do we have Willow and Caven’s relationship on the rocks, this time a huge secret may undo everything and cost more than just hurt emotions. How deep do some secrets tunnel and how much is someone willing to pay the price to keep them buried?
In my last review, for Written With Regret, I mentioned how both characters were antiheros, neither willing to jump into that role, but both having characterics of becoming heros.
For example; Caven mentions multiple times how he doesn’t feel like a hero and to not put him in that box. It’s interesting how to someone else you can be their hero, but if you look in the mirror you don’t feel that way at all. Willow also has the strength of forgiveness that Caven feels put her in his hero box. When the entire world had given up on him, she forgave him and he never forgot that. So have these two come out on the other side? Read Written With You and find out.
Make sure you pick this one up or add it to your TBR. It is one of my favorite reads this 2019!!

All I can say about this book was AMAZING!!!
This book was the perfect finish to this duet. The hardest part is writing a review for this book without spoiling anything for other readers. I can’t talk about anything because it would give away things from both book 1 & 2.
Just know this book picks up right where Book 1 (Written With Regret) ends. All the questions that you were left with after reading Book 1 are answered in this story. But there are also so many other surprises the author gave us. I was taken by surprise right up to the very end of this book.
As always I am BLOWN AWAY with Aly’s writing and how creative her brain is. She always gives us amazing characters and such captivating and intriguing storylines. She is truly talented!!! I could rave on and on about Aly Martinez books, but I truly believe everyone needs to experience this author for themselves.
As I said, Written With You was an amazing finish to this duet. It is NOT a standalone novel. Written With Regret MUST be read first. This story is told in Dual POV and DOES complete this duet. As with the first book, this story will take you on an emotional rollercoaster. I can’t say anything about this story, because it would all be spoilers. Just know when you think you know how this story will go, Aly will reveal something to turn things around. I love her shockers!!!
If you have ever read an Aly Martinez book, then you know you are in for a treat. I have NEVER been disappointed when I have picked up one of her books. She is one of the best writers out there in my opinion. Every one needs to read her books!!!
I would 100% recommend this book…… READ THIS BOOK!!!! Don’t even think twice.
The Regret Duet is complete and I devoured it. I couldn’t wait for Written with You to show up on my kindle, I had to know what was going to happen after that cliffhanger in Written with Regret. This fast paced, intriquing, riveting story is hard to put down once it’s started. The twists and turns will leave you guessing till the end. The characters were realistic, and well developed. You can’t help but have all the feels for them, for what they survived together. If any two people deserved some happiness it was them. Sweet Rosalee, and best friends Beth and Ian were loyal, and amusing, that you can’t help but like them. This duet is top of my 2019 reads.
My love of Aly Martinez started back in 2014. A fellow book lover recommended I read one of her books. Since then I have been on a mission to read everything she writes, I’m almost caught up. I don’t want to imagine life without having discovered her books. Now on to the review of her latest book…..
So this is the 2nd in the series. I was blown away by book 1. Book 2 was…. PHENOMENAL. You think you know what happened in book 1. You think you know what to expect, but believe me, you don’t! I’m finding it hard to even come up with a blurb of what book 2 is about because I don’t want to spoil anything!!! Let me just say this, if you haven’t ready any of Aly’s books this is a great duet to start with. This duet just made it onto my recommendation of Must Read lists for 2019.
Well to say that I was dying for this book after the bombshell at the end of book 1 would be an understatement. I kind of obsessed over getting Written With You so that I could finally get the answers to all those questions that were floating around up in my head like humming birds, driving me crazy when I had already moved on to read another book but a question would pop up in my head that sounded like one of those birds buzzing by my year and totally distracting me for a good long while until I could get back into the headspace of the book I had in my hands.
So I told Aly after reading the first book what all of my dangling questions were, and she totally answers all of those and more that I hadn’t even thought of. I tried so hard to read slowly and not race ahead because I just knew there were clues being planted along the way that would give me the answers I needed as long as I didn’t race right by them. And I have to admit, a thought started brewing in my head that I didn’t want to acknowledge or believe, but it wouldn’t go away and that caused my anxiety to ramp up along the way, waiting to see if it would come to fruition. I’m not going to tell you what it was, that would spoil the fun!
The emotions that roiled through me while reading this story were so tangible. Aly drew me straight into this book just like she does with every book and I felt like a bystander watching it all in real time. The angst, the confusion, the betrayals, the humor, the love, the passion and mostly the guilt. So many things transpire in this second book, it was almost impossible to set it down to accomplish anything else I needed to do!
Aly definitely writes the gut wrenching stories, with the lowest of lows but also the highest of highs. I was rooting SO hard for Caven and Rosalee and Hadley. After everything they’ve survived through in their lives, they deserved to finally find happiness. The twists and turns along the way kept me guessing right up until the end if that was going to be possible or not.
I just adored Rosie Posie throughout this duet. Such an adorable child. I really liked Beth and Ian too, and I’m hoping Aly has plans for them to get a book in the future (hint…hint).
Another amazing duet!
Wow this is the epic, and I mean EPIC conclusion of the Regret Duet!
It’s starts right where we left off.
Secrets, half-truths and lies come to light between Hadley and Caven. And oh what a emotional wreck did it make of me!
I absolutely loved how Ms. Martinez could make me laugh and cry at the same time! Her writing is phenomenal!
Just when you think, “Yes, oh yes!!” here comes the happily ever after, wrong! There are more twists and turns and so many bombshells! I could not put this story down until the end and it left me breathless!
This duet has got to be one of the best I have ever read! I loved that it kept me guessing, left me gasping and left me feeling so, so much! Ms. Martinez has a talent of really bringing the reader into the story!
Living in the seconds and the meaning of the “splice” was magical and moving and made me want to start living that way!
This duet is going to be in the running for my “Best Reads of 2019” just when I thought there was no way Ms. Martinez could top the first book in the duet, she absolutely blew me away!
If you have never read my reviews or my blog, I am telling you now, go get this duet! You will thank me later!
5 Living in seconds Stars!!! What an epic book hangover! I devoured this read! Just like book 1, it’s filled with angst, heat and twists you don’t see coming. Phenomenal read from page one until the end. I highly recommend this book!
AND THAT FOLKS IS HOW YOU DO IT!!
I could not put this conclusion down!! I’m going to be brief because this is just one of those books where it’s impossible to give a non-spoilerish review with a book 1 and all.
This ending was just what I wanted but had no idea how to get there. I should have known Aly Martinez would take the long twisted road that took several sidetracks and even some unscheduled (ie unexpected) stops. Martinez filled my heart with happiness and my eyes might have filled with unwashed tears.
Amazing book.
Just what I had no idea that I wanted.
Be still my heart.
I received an ARC of this book with the hope that I would leave an Unbiased Opinion. I was not required to leave a review, positive or otherwise, and my opinions are just that… my opinions.
