“Written in the Sand is quite an emotional ride! From page one, the captivating storyline takes off and leads me on an unforgettable journey. Such an inspirational romance about moving forward from destruction and finding that special someone to share forever with.” — USA Today Bestselling Author, Harloe RaeI always believed my happily ever after came with the words “I do.”I’d been happy once. … been happy once. In love. Until one night changed everything.
Changed us. The love of my life, or so I thought, had become my own worst nightmare.
So here I am…
Back in Moonshine Springs. A place I wouldn’t return to unless absolutely necessary. But that’s not the biggest shock. Waiting for me with open arms and a safe place to stay is my high school best friend’s brother, Beau. He’s told me I’m his, but starting over isn’t as easy as creating a new happily ever after. My past isn’t done with me and soon enough, bleeds into my present.
My name is Cassidy Mae and this is my chance to begin again…

I’m so glad I took a chance on this story. A new to me author that I look forward to reading again. This second chance, small town romance is full of emotions that make it hard to put down. From the storyline to the characters I was sucked in and enjoyed every minute.
Nothing is better than a love story that blossoms out of patience, hope and earning one’s trust. Zoey Drake has carved out characters with lots of layers. Cassidy Mae has a past that includes an ex who has a very powerful family with a thirst for vengeance. She had it all, or so it seemed. A rich life, husband, and a vibrant social life in a big city. Deep down she’s a country girl who wanted to run as far away from that life as possible. When her marriage becomes dangerous, she is forced return to the town she once considered simple and small. Beau has always known what he wanted and that was Cassidy Mae. One of the things I found refreshing is Beau doesn’t sweep her off her feet the moment she comes back into town, nor does she run into his arms seeking acceptance and love. He offers her a safe place to live and time to deal with her trauma, without asking anything from her.
The author carefully explores both characters feelings about relationships and their own hopes and needs. It’s not easy. Trust, even in someone you may have known all your life, can change when someone else that you’re close to absolutely tears down any trust in the opposite sex and makes you so vulnerable all you’re left with is fear. Cassidy Mae has to work through this, and Beau allows her to do that before seeking a relationship with her. The end result is a very organic and natural growth of their love for one another. There are very hot moments, but there are a lot more sweet and loving moments. I will admit I was on the edge of my seat waiting for her past to catch up with her. I wasn’t expecting what happened. I loved the characters and the authenticity of their feelings and vulnerability. I am so looking forward to the stories to follow in this series. I’m as invested in the secondary characters as I am Beau and Cassidy Mae.
The drama and suspense that Zoey takes us on in this story is icing on a very swoony cake! Beau is willing to wait for Cassidy Mae as she deals with trials in her life. I fell in love with him AND the supporting characters! The dialogue made me feel like I was one of them!
An emotional read that takes you on a journey of finding oneself again after tragedy. Cassidy Mae has been through a lot and endured things no one should have to so she goes back home hoping to find herself and heal from physical and emotional wounds and it is here she starts to become her old self especially with the help of old friends, family, and Beau Montgomery. Cassidy is standoffish and shy but she has a strength that I admired and this strength helped her overcome things and it also helped that Beau was determined to bring the old Cassidy back and help her move on. Beau was a sweetheart, a charmer, and absolutely perfect for Cass he took his time getting to know her again and he was the perfect gentleman letting her set the pace for their relationship. A beautiful story with wonderful characters and a love that is meant to be.
J Marie crafted a story about a fresh start and healing, learning to trust and love again in the aftermath of abuse.
If you enjoy your heartstrings being tugged on every page Cassidy Mae’s struggles to overcome her past and to discover what the future could hold for her with cowboy hottie Beau will give you everything you need.
I loved this book and fell in love with Cassidy and Beau right away. Cassidy is ready to leave her old relationship behind her and move forward with her life and she ends up returning to the last the place she thought she would every return to. Beau is surprised to see Cassidy back in there hometown after all of these years. Beau is there for Cassidy and doesn’t press her for details on why she returned home. The feelings between Beau and Cassidy are intense and neither of them want to act on it because Cassidy isn’t quit ready after her last relationship and left her guarding her heart and her feelings. I loved seeing there relationship blossom and grow while Cassidy is dealing with her own personal demons. This was a great book and loved reading Beau and Cassidy’s story.
I received an advanced copy of this book in exchange for a fair and honest review.
Written in the Sand is the second novel from J. Marie, and I fell in love. This book, for me, was the perfect distraction from life – allll the slow burn, a swoony, swoony, cowboy, a gorgeous small town setting I couldn’t help but fall in love with, all topped off with a sprinkling of suspense.
There are some heavy topics addressed but they’re dealt with sensitively, and weave into the story so well. Wrapped around all that is the love, friendship and humour of the relationship between Cassidy, Beau, and their friends and family.
And. The horses. I think I fell for Zeus harder than any other character in the book. The beautiful, broken horse that learned to trust, mirroring Cass’ own experiences of being broken and slowly healing again.
Loved this book, and I can’t wait to see what comes next!
I have a love for small town romances and J. Marie delivered with Written in the Sand. This story had my attention from the start as we meet Cassidy Mae and the trouble she finds herself in. Upon her return to Moonshine Springs we are introduced to Beau and let me tell you everyone needs a Beau! What a great love between these two and also I now want to own a horse. I enjoyed this book!
This story hooked me from the first page. I loved Cassidy and Beau’s story.
J Marie has done it again! Can’t wait to see what she writes next. I received this ARC in exchange for my honest review.
Written in the sand is a small town, slow burn romance with angst.
Cassidy`s marriage was full of violence and after unexpected incident, she is given a second chance in her childhood hometown.
Her high school crush Beau still lives there and they reconnect, along with her best friend, Beau`s sister. Cassidy starts working on his farm and they soon realize their feelings for each other are getting stronger each day. Will they find their happily ever after?
This is a story of healing, full of hope and strength.
Written in the Sand is a good read. I read Second Chance Rescue by this author and loved it so I when I saw this one was out I had to read it. Written in the Sand starts out with a pretty good hook. A lot happens right up front with Cassidy and her husband. Cassidy has a lot to deal with so she goes home to her hometown. Cassidy character is a little broken. Sometimes she didn’t sit well with me. I wasn’t totally loving her. Beau is Cassidy’s best friend’s brother. They both had crushes on each other when they were is high school. Now that shes back in town he’s not going to let his chance with Cassidy go this time. Beau is sweet and nice. He doesn’t see Cassidy as broken but he knows he needs patience and understanding when trying to win her over.
Beau and Cassidy Mae’s story was so, so sweet!! This was unlike any other I’ve ever read but so very swoon worthy. Cassidy is scared to let Beau in but he has loved her for a long time and is willing to wait until she can open her heart up to him. Once again, J. Marie brings us an amazing story…one that definitely will not disappoint!
I received this arc in exchange for an honest review.

Beau is Cassidy’s high school crush. A sexy cowboy, charming, supportive and swoon guy. Impossible not to fall in love with him. His patience and understanding is what Cassidy needed to know that she could be valued as a woman and have her HEA.
Written In The Sand is the kind of story that can give you all the feelings. It’s emotional, the slow burn is perfect for the plot, with a lovable characters, steamy, humorous and suspenseful moments. I love when an author use their own experiences to wave sweet and inspirational romance stories. That’s what J. Marie did.
This was my first book by J. Marie, and it was absolutely amazing. I loved Cassidy and Beau’s story. I was hooked from the first page.
Beau was a sweet caring guy that gave Cassidy all the time she needed to heal. He was protective, swoony, and the perfect man for Cassidy after all the trauma she had been through.
Cassidy is broken after every thing she has been through, and needs time to heal. She had a strong loving, inner strength that she just had to find again.
I loved Beau and Cassidy Mae together. He was just what she needed in her life. They were perfect together.
This is a slowburn, that gave me all the feels. You couldn’t help but root for this couple.
I recommend this book to anyone who wants a slowburn second chance.
I received a free copy via the author and am leaving a voluntarily review.
Written In The Sand was another fabulous read by J.Marie! I felt so much for Cassidy Mae for what she endured! Coming home was the best decision for her! I loved Cassidy Mae and Beau together, Beau is such a sweetheart & charmer and is so patient with Cassidy Mae when she is fragile and scared! Cassidy Mae blossoms and she becomes strong woman again with Beau by her side! A must read! Look forward to more A Mooonshine Springs Series!
This slow-burn, best friends older brother, sexy cowboy read by J. Marie was a phenomenal story. Cassidy Mae and Beau have such a sweet connection. I loved that after years apart, the teenage crush they harboured for one another still burns strong. The patience Beau has is so swoon worthy. The journey to get their hea is a feel good romance you don’t wanna miss. Beau wins Cassidy Mae’s trust and heart as he will win your over too!
Love how J Marie weaves a story. She really knows how to bring a story to life.
I was totally invested in these characters… the perfect and patient Beau… and the strong and determined Cassidy Mamet overcoming her past.
I was hooked from the very beginning… going through a bunch of emotions along the way. I was totally emerged in Beau and Cassidy’s story and the way it evolved.
This was a slow burn romance that was worth the wait.
A definite must read.
This story of new beginnings and second chances in life is an incredible, sweet and beautiful book.
I felt in love with the main characters Cassidy and Beau and their incredible journey.
Cassidy Mae once upon a time was a happy woman, full of life, dreams and hopes. Everything changes when she married Andrew( her tormentor). After some tragic events she finally comes home but she is not the same person she once was. Now she is broken, afraid and trying to run from a life full of misery.
Her small town is like a sanctuary full of people that care for her like her best friend Regan and Beau, her high school crush.
Beau is swoon worthy, his love for animals, friends and Family is something that had me melting for him. He will do everything in his power to keep Cassidy safe and help her heal. He will fight to make Cassidy see his love for her. She is the only woman he ever wanted and now that she is back, he is not letting her go.
This is a beautiful story about patience, healing and understanding. About true love and second chance at life.
Definitely a must read !!!
I’ve been eagerly wanting this book ever since our amazing author released the blurb, and let me tell you: this is an absolute MUST read. This is a deeply emotional, riveting, painful, beautiful book. This is all about a second chance at love — a second chance at life, and such a beautiful, patient love that showcases just exactly what women (and men) everywhere should look for in their partners.
Cassidy Mae has endured so much pain and cause from someone who claimed to love her, and she narrowly escaped with her life hanging in the balance. She’s constantly looking over her shoulder, wondering and waiting for the monster that still has her in his grasp to take everything away from her. But slowly she begins to rebuild herself, and when the help of her childhood crush (her brothers best friend!) she grows into the woman she always wanted to be.
Beau is EVERYTHING you could want; he’s patient, understanding, loving, so sweet and kind — he is the kind of man that every parent would be proud of. He has such a big heart, and he never once sees Cassidy Mae as broken.. He just saw a beautiful woman that he wanted to love. I am so enamoured with this man!!
I absolutely loved that this was a slow burn romance. Even though the attraction and want was there right away, Cassidy knew that she needed to heal emotionally and mentally before she could ever try to have the relationship she always wanted. Beau was so patient, so sweet, and I loved every minute of their love.
This is a book that deserves to be read, and I’m so honored to have gotten an early copy! Please go one click right away!
**I received an ARC of this book and these are my honest opinions!**
Wow, this story was so much more than what I was prepared for! While there were definitely darker themes (triggers) and more heat than J Marie’s previous book, there was also the sweet swoony romance that I expected and love. First things first, let’s talk about the super hot and sexy cowboy with the patience of a saint. Then the slow burn that was Cassidy Mae and Beau relationship which will have your kindle burning up! There was also a touch of suspense that had me waiting for the next shoe to drop. So many great things going on, I didn’t want to put my kindle down. This story also had some great secondary characters so I’m hoping we get their stories at some point.
