1778: France declares war on Great Britain, the British army leaves Philadelphia, and George Washington’s troops leave Valley Forge in pursuit. At this moment, Jamie Fraser returns from a presumed watery grave to discover that his best friend has married his wife, his illegitimate son has discovered (to his horror) who his father really is, and his beloved nephew, Ian, wants to marry a Quaker. Meanwhile, Jamie’s wife, Claire Randall, and his sister, Jenny, are busy picking up the pieces.
The Frasers can only be thankful that their daughter Brianna and her family are safe in twentieth-century Scotland. Or not. In fact, Brianna is searching for her own son, who was kidnapped by a man determined to learn her family’s secrets. Her husband, Roger, has ventured into the past in search of the missing boy . . . never suspecting that the object of his quest has not left the present. Now, with Roger out of the way, the kidnapper can focus on his true target: Brianna herself.

All of Dianna Gabaldon’s Outlander series are amazing!
I have loved all the Outlander books. Some I have loved more than others. Written in My Own Heart’s Blood is one of my favorites of this series. Jamie and Claire’s love story continues and is stronger in Book 8 as in Book 1. I have loved witnessing their bond and strength grow through time and tests. I love how they continue to come back to each other as their safe place after each test to their self and relationship. I also enjoy getting snippets into the lives and thoughts of Ian, Rachel, William, and especially Lord John. I do not know what I will do with my time until book 9 comes out. I am eagerly waiting!
A great historical romance series. Characters are deep and plentiful. One of my favorite authors and draws you in with interesting happenings.
Fantastic story. Wonderful characters.
Gabaldon is a natural storyteller. Just about anything she writes is entertaining, but her Outlander series is exceptional. Haven’t read her in a while, but will be interesting to see what develops with Jaime’s son.
Loved it
I enjoyed the complete Outlander series. Plan to reread this book soon!
I love the entire series.
This is a focus on a character from Diana Gabaldon’s Outlander series helping us to understand her more. Gabaldon is the best fiction writer that I know.
Diana Gabaldon is simply the best!
ANYTHING THAT IS FROM Diana GABALDON is a book you can bet will keep you reading and reading until you are not able to keep your eyes open. GO BUY IT QUICK!
Every new Claire-and-Jamie ‘installment’ beyond the initial ‘trilogy’ is a bonus ~ the story gets better and better ~ Jamie and Claire are getting older; Bree & Roger, too ~ but the fire is still burning in all of them ~
Love this whole series. Can’t wait for next book
Diana Gabaldon is one of my TOP 5 authors of any time period!!!!! Her writing makes you want to crawl into the pages of the book and stay there!!! Her characters are so real that it’s almost as thought you could meet them on the street!!!! She does it ALL!!!! The story can go from hauntingly compelling to humorous to ultimate action story and them become incredibly romantic!! She misses NOTHING!!!!!! **NOTE: I do recommend strongly that you read her novels in order! If you pick an isolated book that is 3rd or 6th in the series, it will not mean anywhere near what your understanding will be if you start at the first book which is “Outlander.”
Loved the whole series!!
Love all the Outlander series!
