He’s her boss for only a few weeks, yet they know the attraction between them is wrong. Neither of them are made for the long haul when it comes to love and romance. “My words are written on my skin, my heart. They’re in ink and memories. Love me and let me love you. Be with me until we turn our final page.”
Written in Ink tells Griffin and Autumn’s story in the 4th installment of the Montgomery Ink Series. I found this one to be an inspirational tale of two people whose lives are a wreck coming together to heal one another. Griffin has hit a standstill with his latest book and as an effect his home is complete chaos. To help, his family hires an assistant to keep him and his chaotic life in balance. As fate would have it that assistant is Autumn the one girl he can’t take his eye off of. Autumn first strolled into town in the previous book with little known about her. As her story unfolds in this book we learn that she is a drifter constantly on the run from someone. The struggles on trying to detach herself from the Montgomery family prove to be quite difficult but Autumn knows she must do so in order to keep them safe. As the story progresses we see the chemistry between these two heat up and our hearts can’t help but fall for them.
Once again I find myself in love with yet another Montgomery boy and although Griffin isn’t my favorite of the brothers I really enjoyed watching his story find it’s HEA. What I enjoyed most was the different take on Griffin compared to the previous men of the Montgomery Ink series. Griffin while without a doubt is one sexy man had this more creative and mysterious vibe about him. It was refreshing to see that not all the Montgomery boys are the same. Ryan executed another powerful romance filled with enough conflict and steamy romance to keep you turning page after page.
When he is on a deadline Griffin often forgets everything else. When his mom and sisters hire him a personal assistant, he doesn’t like the idea. Autumn knows that the last thing she should do is work for Griffin Montgomery. It is almost time for her to leave town since she has already been there for to long. I was not expecting the twist and turns in this book. The family ties in this series makes these books even better. I can’t wait to see what is next for the Montgomerys.
Autumn has been presented in the previous books but wasn’t very “out there” so I was exited to read about her.
I was pleased for Griffin to get his happily ever after, though it was a challenge for them to get there.
Autumn’s past is ugly and I feel for her.
No unnecessary descriptions of surroundings
Good dialogues
Sweet love scenes
The storyline progresses nicely to a happy ending
5 stars for another Montgomery finding love and happiness
As I was listening to this book, I decided that I really liked Autumn. She seemed strong, self assured, intelligent fiesty, and a little mysterious. She and Griffin seemed to click from the very first time he called her Fall.
The fact that there was a secret in her past was a running theme throughout the book. The first time she appeared at Griffin’s house was great as she stood up to his gruff, grumbling, slightly unpleasant attitude. I didn’t think she would hesitate to explain if the people she cares about were threatened.
What I didn’t understand was why the person who had been described as Autumn with all of these great characteristics had to fall apart because she fell in love with Griffin? Suddenly she had to save and protect Griffin and the Montgomery’s by holding on to her secret and running? Or she was doing incredibly stupid things that you wouldn’t expect from someone who had been on the run for so long. Or she was being extremely emotional and doubting Griffin could have feelings for her. How could She not be suspicious about some of the things that were happening around her?
Griffin has his own issues. He told Autumn about Lauren. At some point Griffin mentioned (in his thought bubble) that he told Autumn, but didn’t tell her everything about Lauren. I still don’t know what “everything” was about his relationship with Lauren. He was irritating and wishy washy in his own right.
Also, when Autumn’s secret finally comes to light, that actually mystery is over so quickly, it could have ended any number of other ways without Autumn or Griffin be in involved.
A story that started out pretty interesting disintegrated into something else with Autumn losing all of her survival skills. It had me sad. I had high hopes for this book. That very last scene with Mia was pathetic. I give this 2.5 stars.
Excellent, I discovered this author 2 months ago and I highly recommend her. Got a couple of her from the library. Was so hooked on her writing that I’ve ordered book in paperback and some in ebooks.
“Welcome to the Montgomery’s. Come for the ink and food, stay for the drama”. This is the best line ever. Never a truer statement. So happy the brooding Griffin got his HEA with Autumn.
I have been waiting for the writer in the family!! Finally we get Griffin’s story! You know the Montgomery clan has become a family to those of us who are faithful readers. We worry about the character like family members and wonder which path Carrie Ann will take them on next. Griffin has always been one of my favorite family members and I have worried about him from the start. Now i know what I had reason to worry about him.
Autumn… when I met this gal I thought I bet she is the one to pull Griffin out of his writers funk and also get him back into the land of the living if there ever is anyone. Little did I know the girl was hiding something major and major it was. She knows she has fallen for Griffin and the family and to keep them safe she won’t tell them what she is running from. Girlfriend have you never watched a scary movie ? Bad move…. Great book.
This is one of my favorites of the series and not because Griffin is my favorite family member but because of the story line. Grab your book today! If you have not read the other books in the series they are not necessary to understand this book but you will be so happy you read them too. I received this book for an honest review. Loved it.
