Wreckless is the second title in the Moto Grand Prix series, and what a sizzling, involved, nail-biter of a story it turned out to be!
Massimo and Lorelai. I can’t remember the last time a “love to hate each other” couple grabbed me by the emotions and held me tight until the final page like these two did. Massimo knows his woman, that’s for sure because Lorelai needs to know that she’s making it through the ranks to the very top all on her own since she’s dealing with a very male-oriented racing sport. She’s focused, more than a bit stubborn, and a champion in the making – so what if some think she’s a diva, she’s actually a strong woman who is completely focused on her end goals.
Massimo. While I always fall a bit in love with heroes, Massimo is… simply amazing. I loved watching him slowly, determinedly breaking down Lorelai’s walls and showing her what they could have together should she take that risk.
Without giving away spoilers I can’t really say how I felt about parts of the ending of Wreckless. I understood it… but was left wondering if one decision was the best choice, but then since there are more stories to come in this series, one day I’ll find out. Regardless of that one question in my mind, I absolutely loved being in this world and cannot wait to return for the next story. If you love a romance with strong characters, obstacles to overcome, and determined people then the Moto Grand Prix series and Massimo’s and Lorelai’s story would be perfect for you.
Although I’ll always recommend reading a series from the start if at all possible, I really believe the way that this world is developing that reading in order will give you a better overview of the entire series (I also understand that isn’t always a choice, so you do what’s best for you) yet you can pick this one up and read it without feeling lost or wondering what’s gone on before as the important things will be mentioned in dialogue or narrative.
*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley. That does not change what I think of this story. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*
This is one of those books you open, thinking you’re just going to peek at the first page before a doctor’s appointment, and four hours later you’re still standing at the kitchen counter, tearing through pages.
There were scenes in this that left me literally breathless, and the intensity! I wish all romance novels could capture this level of passion and emotion.
Massimo is not even my normal “type” in heroes but after this book, I would murder baby wombats for this man (note: no wombats were harmed in the making of this review). Massimo is a consummate badass, and more importantly, he’d do anything for the woman he loves…including antagonize the hell out of her because with this girl, the way to the happily ever after is to get her to race you there.
I can’t say I ever thought about motorcycle racing before, but it doesn’t even matter…the romance sucked me in so hard, and then the race scenes took me by complete surprise with how invested I was: mostly in seeing Lorelai wipe the track with that whole crowd of boys, lol. I loved seeing the horseback riding scenes in her ranch back home, and the sophistication of Massimo’s Italian hometown.
This series made me forget there was a world outside my Kindle, and the characters at times seemed more multi-dimensional than people in my real life. This story was breathtaking, passionate, and utterly unforgettable.
Massimo and Lorelai are enemies when it comes to racing but when it comes to matters of the heart they ignite an undying fire that crosses over boundaries. This fast paced high action story draws you in and have you cheering for Massimo and Lorelai to get their chance for happiness. It touches the heart and you can’t help but connect with these two! Voluntarily agreed to receive an ARC of this book for an honest review.
This is the first book I’ve read by Katie Golding. I chose it because of the cover and the blurb. I love watching the Supercross, Outdoor Nationals, and American Flat Track racing. I thought that this might be similar. HA. I did learn some about Moto GP though. I’ll even look it up to watch and see if I catch the sports bike racing bug.
As a woman rider, I loved this book. Lorelai was smart, strong, and fearless. But human, real. She struggled as well. As I was reading this book, I wanted to be her. Massimo was loyal and true. I wanted to kick him a few times, but he redeemed himself over and over. I loved how strong family ties were for both characters. I was so invested in their story, I was having trouble putting the book down when needed. The author evoked many emotions. The way she ended the book. GAHHHHH. It was great! Anytime I’m so invested in a book, I give it a five star rating. I saw this was book two of a series and have bought book one to catch up with the series. I look forward to the next book as well.
*Thank you Netgalley, Sourcebooks Casablanca, and Katie Golding for allowing me to read an ARC of this book. This is my voluntary and honest review
Wreckless by Katie Golding was my first book by the author and a great romance story.
I’m always up for a good enemies to lovers and contemporary romance and this story checked all my boxes.
The banter was so good that either had me laughing out loud or cheering either of them and the chemistry was there from the beginning to end.
While plays a dangerous game and tries to save his heart from heartbreak, he also realises that actually Loraine is his first and the last love of his life and the person who deserves his thrust more than anything. He does take his sweet time to do so but it’s understandable and it worked well in here.
Loraine is probably my first heroine that I’ve read about being a motorcycle racer and I just loved her. Her caring persona really touched me and the dynamics with her family was so spot on and always put a smile on my face.
I’m surely looking forward to read more by the author now.
