Second book by this author and I was not disappointed. This book was a real page turner. Brett and Kenzi are character’s you will fall in love with. this book!!
Wow. I’m not normally a fan of switching from then to now, but it really helped with the backstory. Brett & Kenzie are like two lost soles missing their spark and when they find it wow. It’s not just a HEA for Brett & Kenzie but for her and her folks and that was nice to see.
This is my first A.K. McBride book, and boy was I surprised. The synopsis is what drew me to the book. Wrecked is a book that will stick with you and keep you wanting more, even after the last page ends. There’s so many emotions that you WILL feel while reading this book.
First is the thought of a man loving you as much as Brett did Kenzie. He gave up his own self preservation for her. His own freedom, for Heavens sake!
Then there’s betrayal. It’s an awful feeling you have. Because usually once you have this in your head and heart it becomes hatred.
And hatred can lead you down a dark path, that sometimes you can’t come back from.
So, why didn’t Kenzie stand by the man who gave her everything and then more? You know the answer to this question!
That revelation will leave you gaping with uncertainty and a million questions. Fast forward 12 years into the future, where fate says the pair shall meet again. The two are both feeling hurt and angry by the past that they both think they know. But the question is, do they truly know?
Can you forgive and forget? The book explores all aspects of these questions and more. The power of forgiveness can bring about so many different things to a person who cannot move forward. Moving forward from that dark, dank place to another path full of possibilities.
I will say any theories that you’ve cooked up in your head will probably turn out wrong. But hey, I am not a mind reader…yep pun intended, and I could be wrong. This book is definitely a top read of 2019, because it is brutal and honest and heartbreaking and it will absolutely keep you glued to the pages!
I will be reading from this author again. This is a definite MUST READ!
Forgiving Stars
Another beautiful story in the continuing series of Willow Creek….
I absolutely loved Brett, he loves with all his heart. But after having his heart crushed years before by the love of his life Kenzie, he’s just going through the motions in life. Kenzie’s Heart has only ever really beaten for her first love Brett, but interference and misunderstandings have torn them apart.
This was a beautiful second chance love story, I couldn’t put it down and can’t wait for the next book in the series.
This book was not as good as the first one in the series, however it’s a very enjoyable read. Willow Creek is full of likeable characters and you’ll fall in love with Mrs Jackson.
They had a forever love one so strong that Brett made the ultimate sacrifice for Kenzie. It appears Brett was a fool, as a result he struck out in anger. Kenzie was devastated by Brett’s actions, she thought he was her forever. A chance reunion brings old feelings to the surface, but hurt and anger override them. Are they able to overcome the ravine between them, it seems like forever has an expiry date after all.
Another beautiful story!
Having read Shattered, the first book in the series, I couldn’t wait to read Brett’s story. I wasn’t disappointed! Another heartwarming beautiful story. A.K. knows her readers so well, giving us a bonus chapter, just as the tears are flowing thinking the book has finished. Looking forward to book 3!
Brett and Kenzie will have your heart and your head wrecked. So much emotions and hurts from the past that each page will have you on the verge of tears. This is a book takes you on their journey from the past to the present and possibly their further.
Brett is lost and looking as to why he lost it.
Kenzie trying to be the good girl and following what her parents say.
When a chance encounter leaves them trying to figure out where it wrong and figuring the truth from the lies will it give them the future they want or will the keep living in the past. Can’t wait to read more and more. This book touched my heart and soul
Being my first ever read by this author I was really eager to start, and the eagerness came from the synopsis. I was completely sold. Reading it left me wanting to read this novel, so when Wrecked hit my kindle I was all kinds of excited and couldn’t wait to start.
Now as I sit here, I can honestly say that Wrecked left me completely breathless.
Meeting Brett and Kenzie, I had no idea which way their story would go.
We have Brett who had his freedom taken from him for Kenzie who he loved with every fibre of his being.
We have Kenzie who begged for help and Brett was all but willing to protect her no matter the cost.
So you would think that Kenzie would stand by Brett’s side while he was sent away an innocent man, right?
But NO, that’s not what happened at all.
It was the exact opposite.
And MY. MIND. WAS. BLOWN.
Move forward 12 long years, these two haven’t seen one another, but yet are thrown together in the unlikeliest of circumstances.
Brett is angry and hurt.
Kenzie is angry and hurt.
They blame each other for their pasts.
But it’s the secrets that will be discovered that will blow any theory a reader like me would have right out of the water.
MIND. BLOWN. (Yes another reminder)
Guys, I absolutely adored this novel. It was so many things emotionally. Heartbreaking, gut wrenching, painfully brutal, but also light with so much warmth and simply heart-warming. So many emotions executed perfectly with just the right balance that kept me completely glued.
But my true love for this novel came from the exploration of forgiveness. We as humans all struggle with forgiveness and we often question ourselves should we forgive those who hurt us? Do we forgive or do we continually hold the emotional grudge that ways us down?
Wrecked explored every facet of forgiveness and it was that alone that was such an eye opener for me and something that I now look at so differently, and yes that’s just by reading Brett and Kenzie’s story.
A beautifully written, heartfelt read that I can’t rate highly enough.
5 stars.
Wrecked is the first book I have read by this author and I really liked it. I loved Kenzie and Brett. They had great chemistry.
Who knew her car breaking down in a small town was fate as an old love and lots of tension greets her. You are in for a rollercoaster of emotions as secrets are unraveled and a old love is tested. Loved this book and all of the characters. So sweet! I even wanted to slap some people along the way.
He gave up everything including his freedom for his love but she just left stomping his heart. He gooseberry to see her again but she turns up. What will.He do now? Get his revenge? Get her back? Trick her? See what he will do

A beautiful heartfelt second chance read. Love the story between Brett and Kenai. Love the other characters and hope to read their stories soon.
Favorite quote: Brett ~ “How can you ever be over someone who used to be your entire existence? You couldn’t. You simply learned to function without them.”
What a beautiful book about second chance love. A truly refreshing story with so many emotions…sadness, anger, forgiveness, lust and love. Brett and Kenzie were in love until they were torn apart. Brett protected Kenzie and she left him behind. He knew he would never forgive her, or would he? Fast forward many years, and a chance happening had them meeting again. Was the spark between them still there? Could Kenzie win him back? These two had so much going against them but they can’t deny that something is still there between them. This author has a way of making you fall in love with these characters with her beautifully written words. I love this series and can’t wait to see if there will be another book! Do yourself a favor and read this book and series!
Wrecked (Willow Creek Book 2) was alluring and addictive. A.K Macbride weaved a mesmerizing story that will give your heart palpitations. You will experience young unexpected love, to rekindle soul consuming love. You will laugh and cry reading this masterpiece. The emotional intensity of the story will leave butterfly imprints on your soul forever. A.K Macbride you deserve a standing ovation for this phenomenal addition to the Willow Creek Seriess. Highly recommed this Series.
This is the second book in this series, and can be read as a standalone. Brett and Kenzie’s story is an emotional roller coaster journey from beginning to end. This is a beautifully written flawless story, which has twist, heartbreak, and love, which all had me totally intrigued and hooked throughout, and I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I recommend for all.
He made the ultimate sacrifice for her and then she broke his heart or did she break his? Brett and Kenzie have a lot of pent up anger mostly because of miscommunication. When she returns because the car breaks down in Willow Creek, her only hope is to avoid Brett but fate has something else in store. Will Brett and Kenzie arrive at the conclusion that they are destined to be together or will this be another missed opportunity for a happily ever after for the two.

This was a 3.5 star second chance story. Kenzie made a terrible mistake and has spent years with it on her mind. Brett would do anything for her and he took the fall for her. Now years later there past collide with their present. Can they forgive and forget and hope for a future?
This was an intriguing story and great second chance. I didn’t connect with the characters as much as I would have liked too. Which is a shame because the storyline was good and flowed well.
Standalone told in a dual POV with an HEA. I recommend this story.
When her car breaks down in Willow Creek, Kenzie has no choice but to stay there for as long as it takes to get her car fixed. Now, if she can just avoid the boy who broke her heart after sacrificing himself for her all those years ago. Seriously, dear reader friend, is there anything better than a second chance romance? Don’t we all have that one past relationship that our heart returns to on occasion, making us wonder “what if” or think “it might have been?” Well buckle up, because Kenzie and Brett get the chance to turn their “might have been” into a future full of brand new possibilities, and it is a delicious, evocative journey you won’t want to miss!
McBride is a new author for me, and taking a chance on her work paid off in a big way. This has to be the slowest burning but most electrifying romance ever to hit the pages of romance, and this yummy, emotional, heartfelt and humorous read hooked me in from the very first page. With a quaint small-town setting, a phenomenal cast of colorful secondary characters and delightful tension between our hero and heroine, I was sucked into this phenomenal book world and eagerly devoured the pages to find out what happens next. I fell nose over toes for Kenzie and Brett and loved every second of their anger, resentment, not-so-subtle smoldering glances, and sparks flying everywhere as they worked their way through the wreckage of their past. They owned my heart as they healed their own and found their way to forever. This is such a satisfying, heart-swooning read that it goes on my “read again” list, so you’ll definite want to add it to your TBR. Then start reading and hold on tight, because you’ll definitely fall hard for this fantastic couple!

Sometimes a reader is afraid to read more in a series when book one was fabulous as you never know if the second book in the series will live up to their expectations……I can honestly say that in this series that is NOT the case. Kenzi and Brett’s story was even better. A.K. MacBride knocks this one out of the park. A beautiful love story, characters you cannot help but fall in love with and every page dripping with emotion. This is a series I am going to read again and again.
