An amazing story hurt, anger and the ultimate betrayal!!!
Just when you think this series couldn’t get any better along comes Claire C Riley to crush your heart and leave you scraping your chin off the floor !!!!
Book 3 in the elite seven series gives us wrath.
Samuel “The machine ” gunner is full of so much anger stemming from an unloved childhood knowing nothing but a life of hurt and abuse, his only concern as always and will always be to protect his twin sister, Sam makes sure he does everything possible to be noticed by and ultimately invited to be part of the elite he thinks this is his way out of his father’s grasp and the route to the life he’s always wanted for them both.
Sam is given his task…to seduce then break the heart of the beautiful patience which seems to be easy enough.
But what happens when something you thought would be easy turns into the hardest thing you could ever do ???
Lives are changed forever as the heartbreaking act of betrayal is portrayed
Absolutely brilliant continuation of what is turning into an epic series I can’t wait to see what envy reveals next.
I got to say I’m little scared at what’s to come though lol
4.5 Cranky Stars
Samuel Gunner AKA Wrath answers everything with his fist. Years of pent up rage have finally unleashed on the underground fighting circuit. Gone are his fancy suits and replaced with leather jackets and jeans and chain-smoking cigarettes all to gain attention from The Elite. From the outside his life is perfect but inside the mansion walls being the son of Maxwell Gunner and the twin to the always perfect Sabella Gunner comes with a heavy price. Years of abuse have stacked up and he thinks the only way he can get out from under Maxwell’s reign is to join The Elite. When he is given his first task it’s to betray the trust of the one person who has ever shown him any kindness besides his sister Sabella. Sam and Patience had an innocent friendship until he ruined it at 13. Fast forward here they are and finally back in each other good graces. When he has a major decision to make, he doesn’t realize it will have a domino effect and cause so many more problems. Problems he might not make it out from under and Patience won’t walk away unscathed.
I don’t have words for Wrath and that’s a first. I was equal parts feeling sorry and thinking please handle this like a man. He is naughty he needs to dominate, and I think that he learned that from his dad. Patience was certain of her feelings and did things most people wouldn’t do for love. She went above and beyond for Sam. I’m weary of Sebastian something about him doesn’t sit right with me and I’m kind of scared to read his story. I think it will be darker than Samuel’s story. I’m absolutely in love with this series and each one is so different and unique. Wrath is dirty, it’s sexy, it’s love in his purest form but it’s not for the weak.
I do not believe I’ve ready Claire C. Riley previously. However, I have read the other two books in the Elite Seven Series and I knew I had to continue getting every little morsel of this storyline as I could. It’s like they all have woven these little bits of secrets into their stories that connect them all. I love how wide and just all consuming it feels. I seriously feel as though I am stepping into a new world… one that these authors have painstakingly created to unravel my mind… and the minds of every single reader enthralled in this series.
It’s interesting but Wrath felt a bit different than the other books. I know we have seven books by 7 different authors about 7 different coming of age men… really, that is what this is. They are transitioning to college. This is a difficult time in life anyway without being thrown sex, drugs, alcohol all at alarming speeds… this is definitely a 0 to 60 book! I didn’t think my heart could ache more than it did in Pride, but alas, I was wrong. While Samuel (Wrath) is an incredibly angry man… like he’s vicious! But he’s totally come by it honestly. He’s always ready for a fight. It’s how he thinks he needs to prove himself… the only way he can be strong and he always has to be strong.
I did enjoy Riley’s writing. I felt she was descriptive. She really developed her characters very well. Samuel was a harsh, nearly cruel man to connect with. I’m not sure if that was part of my feelings toward the story. Patience, really, how funny is that name for a man like Samuel to want? It’s exactly what he needs. He needs some patience. Even with that, they are fire together! This book is so unlike any other romance I’ve read. Wrath likes his sex and lots of it! It was an interesting read but something was off for me and I think it was mostly Wrath himself.
I received an ARC of this book with the hope that I would leave an Unbiased Opinion. I was not required to leave a review, positive or otherwise, and my opinions are just that… my opinions.
Holy Guacamole! Another exciting book in The Elite Seven Series! Claire C. Riley is a new author to me. She did a great job with Wrath. I am so impressed with how well this book fits right into the overall Elite Seven story. Samuel/Wrath is just a tad BEYOND INTENSE! He’s off the charts angry and sure tries hard to let that anger work for him. He’s walking the proverbial tightrope trying to accomplish what he wants for his life without destroying the few people he truly loves. I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough to find out just what the outcome of all that anger would be. This book had it all–suspense, action, steamy sex, anger, love, pain, secrets, lies and more. While I really enjoyed reading this one, I did find a few aspects of the story lacking in believability, at least for me. Therefore, four stars from me instead of five. As an overall though, Claire C. Riley rocked this story and the ending will have you gasping! DO NOT MISS IT!
WRATH by Claire C. Riley is the 3rd book in the Elite Seven series. This is Patience and Samuel /Wrath’s story.
Wrath suffered years of abuse and took the suffering in order to protect his twin sister. He uses his hands and lashes out in order to let the rage go and thats how got into the Elite 7- his fists. Now he needs his sister protected completely so he has to come up with something so profound yet totally ultimate that will do the deed to keep his sister safe forever and keep him in this secret society for good. That is how Patience gets involved. She is the Mayor’s sweet daughter and he has to totally seduce and ruin her. Like break her down. Only thing is, can he do this to her since they have this intense connection or will Wrath be able to ignore that and do this for his sister?
This story started off with promise but sort of went of the rails pace wise. It would pick back up but falter again. It was a good idea story wise and I liked Wrath and Patience and wow, what a cliffy the story ended on. The twists/turns, the angsts, drama, tension, sizzle and power that is in this book is going to amaze. I can’t wait for the next book which is Envy’s story, written by M.N. Forgy.
My Rating: 4.4 stars ******
Samuel had a horrible, horrible childhood, spending it being abused by his grandparents and father, all to protect his twin sister, Sabella. So now that he’s in college, he’s grown into a WRATH-filled young man, angry at the entire world. He uses his fists and violence now, to express himself and to earn money to get out from under his father’s thumb. He wants entry into The Elite Seven, but will the initiation be something he can’t do, will take away what little humanity he’s found in himself?
I’ve read a lot of other reviews that dislike all the scenes with OW, and I have to admit those scenes aren’t my favorite part of this story, but honestly, they are kind of inline with his character to that point, and I am not reading this series for the romance aspect, so they didn’t really bother me that much. I like the relationship Samuel and Patience have, what little of it is shown, and I do wish they had had more time together as an actual couple, but as a story that furthers the whole secret society aspect, Wrath is superb. What it is NOT is a romance or a love story, just as the previous 2 have not been romances or love stories, either. What it IS is an erotic, edgy, intriguing look at one main character, and a continuation of this whole mystery of The Elite Seven society. And that ending?!? Wow! I can’t even tell you how on edge it has me, waiting anxiously for Envy to release!!
Damn these books are just so good. This series is entertwined.
I love Samuel. The secrets just keep coming and more are getting exposed with every book.
I can’t wait for the next book!
Samuel aka Wrath is from a rich family but has a broken past. The only thing he cares about is protecting his twin sister. He is tasked with seducing and then abandoning Patience Noelle. Patience proves to be a match for him. I liked the relationship and the evolution of it between these two characters. Now to wait for the next book.
Wrath, the 3rd book in the Elite Seven is about Samuel Gunner, he’s given the task to seduce and break the mayor’s daughter’s heart. He’s known Patience since he was a little kid and they were tight when they were small, tight as in they were close. She tried to protect Samuel from his abusive grandparents but it seemed like she would also get the wrath for trying to stick up for him.
Sam a.k.a Wrath lives a life with no familial love. He lost his mother when she gave birth to him and his twin sister and he has no lost love for his dad because his father blames them for losing his wife at their birth. His grandparents are deviants. Always hitting and belittling Sam. He is always there to protect his sister from any wrath they will receive from these old tarts.
Even though we are getting each individual insight of what their lives were and are I didn’t really feel the connection with Samuel. He was a spoiled privileged kid and all he was looking forward to was joining the Elite and although that’s pretty much all of these kids dreams that are being recruited to the Elite.
But for some reason I just couldn’t get into Samuel’s story. I kept stalling in trying to finish the book. I wasn’t as hooked on this story as I was to Lust and Pride’s. But I am still intrigued as to what we’ll get on the remaining 4 Elite recruits.
Although I wasn’t that interested in Wrath’s story, I still managed to give this book a 4 star review because I do love the concept and the background of each guy. I love reading how they all are brought up and what their tasks are going to be.
Wrath continues this whirlwind series. Man, so much stuff keeps happening.
Wrath is Samuel Gunner, a boy (man?) full of anger and rage. Growing up with a rich and abusive family, everything he’s done is to keep his twin sister safe. He sees the Elite as the way out; the way to give his family the proverbial finger and make a life for himself and his sister.
Sam and his deviant sexual preferences get into the Elite (srs here, are there many 18 year old boys who are into submission??). His task is seduce the one girl who ever meant anything to him as a child…and then break her heart.
Patience was an interesting character. She was strong in a sense, but she also seemed unremarkable. She falls right into Sam’s arms and plans, even when everything goes wrong.
Wrath took this series to the next level of intensity. The cliffhanger here was insane, and the story of Sam and Patience felt unresolved. I kept turning the page, waiting for more. I can’t wait to see what Envy will bring.
These boys are legit killing me!!!!
These cliffhangers are so freaking brutal!
I need answers and I need them right now!
About Wrath:
Wrath is the third book in The Elite Seven series. Samuel’s story is written by author Claire C. Riley. Claire C. Riley is another new to me author and after reading this one, I’ll be keeping my eyes on the lookout for future releases from this author!
Sam’s story blew me out of the freaking water. Given the other two books in the series, I was expecting this book to be gutsy and downright dirty. But what I wasn’t expecting was to feel this man’s pain, agony, and the brutality that comes from living in a loveless world.
When Patience comes along Sam realizes his world isn’t completely loveless. It’s just his household that lacks love. Patience and Sam have an immediate connection, a chemistry that makes you believe there is always someone lurking on the sidelines and that someone will have your back no matter what. But fate has a way of stepping in and muddling perfect moments. She’s a fickle bitch, and a moment of bad judgement causes Sam and Patience’s bond to be severed.
Now for Sam’s initiation into The Elite Seven, he must capture what he broke all those years ago, Patience heart.
My Thoughts:
My jaw is still hanging on the fucking floor. I AM BEYOND FLOORED!
I loved the hell out of Wrath and all the dynamics behind this novel, not only is there a MASSIVE amount of angst, there is also sweet puppy love, sexual tension, and a level of camaraderie that is unlike any other. There’s also a hint of betrayal….hmmm…
Not only is Sam a badass with a very short fuse, he’s also a dominant and kinky as hell! I cannot get over this man and his wicked ways between the sheets…or against a punching bag…..HOLY HELL! There were moments I had to set my kindle aside for a breather.
I rated this a 4 star instead of a 5 because even thought I loved the story and I loved the characters, I felt a few important scenes were rushed, basically meaning I didn’t have time to actually form a reaction or become invested in the moment, pertaining to certain situations, before they were over. I wanted a little bit more from these moments towards the end. I wanted to feel more.
Overall, I loved Wrath’s story and I’m going crazy with that fucking cliffhanger!!! Good thing we only have to wait a few weeks for Envy’s story to come out. This girl needs answers!!!
I really wanted to like this one! I start each book excited and with high hopes but end up a little bit disappointed each time to the point that I wanted to not finish this one.
The tasks, stories, motivations, and even some events are too similar to each other. At this point I’m only in it for the elite and their hidden motives and what our seven newly pledged elites are going to do!
I liked Patience but we didn’t get enough of her because it was only in Wrath’s POV and I just wasn’t invested enough in their relationship. Additionally, the parents are definitely worse with each book and I felt for what Wrath and his sister went through growing up. It’s one of the only parts that I actually enjoyed and were done well. We also get a little more info about the elite and their plans but that’s about it.
Envy seems interesting but I’ll be going in with even lower expectations.. My only hope now is in the last three books and how the authors will conclude it.
Holy hell.
What did I just read?
Wrath begins where Pride left us, in this world of sins and sinners. Wrath is Samuel Gunner. If I was to describe Samuel it would be best to describe him as angry. And also hopeless.
Samuel Gunner does not live with rose tinted glasses on, none of these boys do, but Sam the most of all. He’s living a shit life, surrounded by shit people. Sam doesn’t even like himself. The only one person he does like is his sister Sabella.
Just like all the other sins, Sam has a task assigned, and it’s to seduce the mayor’s daughter. Patience Noelle is her name.
It’s supposed to be an easy task for Wrath. He doesn’t care much about anything really. Screwing a girl should be a piece of cake. But the bigger they are, the harder they fall.
I know alot of people don’t like cliches, and this maybe one cliche that bothers some. But nope, not me. Good girl bad boy? Sign me up for some of that!
This book was dark. I found this darker than the rest, or maybe that’s how Sam’s personality was. Claire C. Riley did an excellent job of letting that despair seep in through the pages, till I was frantically clicking to read what happens next. I feel like she really upped the ante for the next book. I’ve never read Claire’s books before, but I’m sure going to do it now. There was this invisible clock ticking, and I was racing to get to that inevitable end.
I’m not happy with the end. The rest of the couples got somewhat of a “happy” ending. Sam and Patience? Not so much. But this ending somehow made sense. Still doesn’t mean I’m happy with it though. I hope to see these two in the other books. And I cannot fucking wait for Envy. I’ll be honest though, I’m most excited for God’s book. I have a feeling it’ll be like catnip for me.
Wrath is my first read by Claire Riley and it did not disappoint. This is Samuel Gunner’s story. His broken past hit me the most to the point I wanted to reach inside the story and hug him.
“My father holds me like a child for the first time in his life, and for the first time in my life, I find myself clinging to him, desperate for his love.”
There are some shocking things that happen. Words and actions cracked my heart and left my jaw dropping. From beginning to end I was completely sucked in.
Samuel is a ball of rage and who can blame him after everything he’s been through. Patience is the only one who can fix him.
“She’s my band-aid. My medicine. My bandage. She’s pieced me back together after feeling broken for so long. Just like a wound, I’ll never be the same again after Patience. And that’s fine by me.”
As we get further into this series it gets more intense with clues to keep you wondering and drive you crazy trying to figure it out. I can’t wait to see what happens in Envy, the next book in the Elite Seven series.
Advanced readers copy provided in exchange for an honest review.
After reading this book, I’m even more confused with this secret society.
It was my first read from Claire C. Riley and I truly enjoyed her writing.
There’s a lot of rage and hurt in this book. Samuel and his sister had a loveless childhood, cramped with guilt, so Samuel see’s in the Elite his way out from his father hand. After getting in he has one task like the others to accomplish which will lead him to his worst nightmare.
But Samuel’s story doesn’t end here, to be honest I think all their stories only will end with the last book, that hopefully will release all the secrets.
Now, one thing’s for sure… I need Sebastian’s (Envy) book like right now!
Just Stop. This Is Only Book Three in The Elite Series And I Cant Wait For More. With Every Deadly Sin We Get Another Incredible Read And Now We Meet Wrath aka Samuel Gunner.
Samuel Gunner is looking for a way out of the horrible home life he has had since he can remember and all he wants is to find a better life for not only himself but his sister Sabella. What he doesn’t expect is that his task to find that life is bringing in part of his past but never thinking that Patience Noelle would make him think twice about it all.
This book not only bring you on a rollercoaster of angst, emotions and edge of your seat reading but it brings you to say I Want and I Need More
Expect the Unexpected

When you let the ghosts of your past dictate your future…everything crumbles. Sam will be tested. His anger consumes him. He needs to control his WRATH or his fate will be sealed.

Everything comes with a price. Will the price be too great? The Elite never asks for something easy. You will always be forced to lose something.

This story will keep you guessing. More questions, less answers. Love, hate, and the need for revenge that will consume him. An ultimate betrayal that will leave permanent scars. This story delivers it all!
The Elite Seven is an addiction!!! I NEED ENVY!
5 WRATH STARS!! Wow, just wow!! The Elite Seven is AMAZING!! This story of Samuel and Patience was fantastic. I was on the edge of my seat all the way through with all sexiness, suspense, drama and my favorite love. I am dying to get my hands on the next book….I need it like I need air or I will die. The Elite Seven is definitely a must read.
Wrath packed so much into it’s pages! Samuel Gunner, AKA Wrath, was a troubled kid. What he experienced as a child made my heart break! As a grown man, the Wrath we meet is one formed from betrayal, abuse, neglect and vengeance. His story was so delicious… Sinfully delicious. I liked that it didn’t dive right into a story between a man and a woman. Instead, we got to experience Wrath as a single man, doing what single men do. He was unabashedly brutal in his quests both as a fighter inside the cage, and as a man in between the sheets. He had a dominant personality that bled into his love life. When he finally does meet the leading lady of the book, their story is so brutally beautiful that I couldn’t tear my eyes away from the second half of the book. Within the mix of dealing with all the drama that the Elite throws his way, Wrath finds redemption. He finds peace and calm, which is something he never has had. Patience (cool name), gives him that and so much more. Her character blew in and transformed the book in spectacular fashion. The ending sets up the next book so perfectly. I’m loving these Elite stories, and can’t wait for more!!
“To the sinners and the deviants. And the ones who like to fuck with the lights on. This one’s for you.”
Suspensefully Sexy, this one is going to make your heart thump with need for the next book!
I’m just glad we don’t have to wait forever for the next book, this series is coming for you, fast and hard. I see a theme arising within The Elite, or so the last couple of books. Family ties, specifically sisters. I’ll also warn that romance takes a back seat to the suspense and mystery, I think that’s been the common factor with the first three books. With that said, I’m loving this series for its secrets, suspense, and mind-twistery. Little glimpses into the other stories to come has got me begging for more.
Wrath’s book had me all in my feelings. His childhood was at the forefront, shaping him into the man he is. Dark and dirty. Just how I like them. Revenge is finally in his grasp, but at what cost? I wish I could tell you more, yet spoilers would make people mad. HA! It’s been a while since I read dominance like this, you know Alpha, but more. I was definitely drooling. Yes, Sir, where do you want me?
“I enjoy the look of shock and horror on people’s faces when I lash out at them, beating them into submission. Submission. I enjoyed submission in the bedroom too.”
And then there’s the whole twisted shebang. Man, I couldn’t figure out where I was supposed to look, what’s happening, most importantly, who just got played. I LOVED IT! I closed this book with my heart racing! I might have been sweating a little. Claire C. Riley took it up a notch. I can’t wait to see who the major players are and if The Elite can stay a brotherhood with all the devious games at play. I’m completely and utterly addicted!
