I’m a motherless son to a father who hates me. Fury has lived and breathed in my black heart for so long, it’s a part of my soul now. The only thing that’s ever mattered to me is protecting my twin sister, Sabella, from my father’s temper. So when the chance to join a secret society presents itself, there’s no question I’ll do whatever it takes to become a member and earn my place in the ranks of … the ranks of only the most Elite.
With a taste for the deviant, I’m drawn to the darkest of desires, and no one ever leaves my bed unscathed.
My task: seduce Patience Noelle, St. Augustine’s sweetheart and the mayor’s beloved daughter—then break her heart.
Sinning is what I live for, and deviance is my passion. Failing has never been an option.
But what happens when my sin becomes my curse—when destroying the only woman I’ve ever wanted is my key to protecting my sister?
Accept your sin wisely, for the tasks given to earn your place are not for the weak…they’re for The Elite.
This isn’t just my chance, it’s my legacy and reckoning.
I am Samuel Gunner.
I am Wrath.

You are killing me!! Since the previous book I was desperately needing answers. Having suspicions about a few characters that felt shady. And now, I have more questions!! Samuel is a bit behind on catching up with the information around him which is sad because he so desperately needs to be in control but he is everything but. Things for him and the ones he cares for took a turn for the worst by the end of this book and of course I need someone to solve it. He deserves it. This is a man who still has a child inside. Part of him never grew up because he was never nurtured, never loved. The story is great but one thing I would have preferred was for more of the book to be in the here and now, dealing with the problems happening with the Elite. To me it felt like it continuously repeated his past abuse. I needed more pages of the mystery created with the Elite.
Rating: 4.5 Stars
Samuel Gunner doesn’t have much respect for the adults he calls family. After seeing what they’re like through his eyes who can blame him. There was one scene where I had no choice but to do an eye roll so don’t be surprised if you do the same. He’s just one more in the group of the Elite Seven where the adults have failed the children.
Maybe this is one thing that our group has in common. Until I have read each book I’m not going to stop seeing if there’s something else they may share. Maybe that’s what makes these stories so addictive. These gentlemen appear as if they are a phoenix rising out of life’s ashes.
Sam is a young man with anger issues. The author does such a good job that you can almost feel his emotions coming off the page. He has a dark side that you’ll see in some of his interactions with women. But he also has a heart and you’ll see that when it comes to his sister and Patience Noelle.
If you’ve read this series from the beginning, you may notice some similarities but none will give you the feeling as if you’ve read it before and it’s what connects them to the other. One difference is that each author reveals something not previously seen. And I know I have to see what connection may be revealed in Envy since our author left me hanging here.
I was not compensated nor was I required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.
Deception, betrayal, manipulation!
Three words I feel sum up this story perfectly!
The next installment in the utterly compelling series, The Elite Seven, brings us WRATH and believe me when I tell you, you can feel it dripping from every single page.
This story was a masterful concoction of true evil genius. Claire C. Riley delivers on all fronts. This is a dark suspenseful tale that draws you impossibly deeper into the world of the Elite and the lengths they will go to in order to remain invisible. I was hooked from the first page, the backstory, the build-up, was gripping and I probably would have finished it sooner had life not caught up to me *lol*. This is the type of book that if you had the inclination you would rather starve than actually putting it down to feed yourself, it is that addictive and all the sustenance you will ever need.
Samuel Gunner is WRATH, and he has earned his given sin paid in flesh and blood. The neglect and torture he suffered in his youth have made him the young man he is today. Seething with rage and driven by vengeance he only has one goal in life, to protect his sister from their father’s hatred. The epitome of an alpha male, Samuel had developed well rounded protective instincts even from a very young age. His twin sister has no idea what he has suffered and he wants to shelter her from their past as much as he possibly can. She is the only person he cares about and will therefore destroy anything that threatens her. He needs the Elite to notice him, and he goes about it in a very outrageous fashion. Cocky and arrogant, Sam knows his strengths and uses them to his advantage, and it obviously pays off.
A task, a blast from his past, Sam ends up in an impossible situation, with an impossible choice hanging over his head. Backed into a corner is when he is at his most dangerous, he will fight tooth and nail for those he loves, and when he feels threatened you better watch out.
A huge surprise lies in wait for you when, because lets face it – it will definitely not be if, you pick up this book. By the end your jaw will be hitting the floor and you will be screaming for the next installment, or was that just me. Enjoy!!
Wow this is the third book from this series and it just keeps getting better and better. Fair warning the ending mind blowing. I wanted to throw my kindle. Wrath is trying to get away from his father. He becomes a part of the Elite. But the task that he has to do is not going to be easy for him. Nothing is easy . Absolutely well written mind blowing amazing book. Loved the storyline and the characters. Another great book in the Elite series.
The Elite is a secret society with power unimaginable. To be a member, is one of highest honor. Follow their rules and you will have endless: WEALTH, POWER, and FAME. Once you are selected, you must pass initiation. And meet the brotherhood. Your brothers in arms. A bond so lethal it is unbendable and unbreakable. The Seven Sins.
LUST, PRIDE, WRATH, ENVY, GREED, GLUTTONY, SLOTH
In this book we have Samuel Gunner – aka – Wrath. He has always been a bad boy. Always has been the trouble maker of his family. Always being kicked out of this school. Having to go from place to place as he never lasts long in school. He does have a twin, Sabella. They have the same hair color, same eye color. Their dad, is always gone on business trips supposedly so he will be away from them. Sabella is the good one, always making good grades, doing what she’s been told to do, always doing the right thing.
Patience Noelle is the mayor’s daughter. Samuel & Patience spent time together when the were younger, but, lost touch through the years. Patience was thought to be have home schooled, but, she had moved out to California to be with her mother. The town couldn’t find out the truth that her parents separated and wanted to divorce each other. That would end her father’s run as mayor, ending the perfect family image.
Wrath see’s Patience one day and goes up to her, to see if he can re-kindle anything. All he received was 2 slaps to his face! This big 6’5″ guy getting slapped by a little 5′ something girl must have been a sight to have seen!
Wrath has received his task from the Elite, but will he go through with it as involes Patience Noelle, the mayor’s daughter, St. Augustine’s sweetheart. Or will Wrath turn his coin in turning away from the Elite?
I did receive a free ARC copy of this book. I am freely leaving a honest review.
Great 3rd book in the elite 7 each other of this series is bringing the heat. This is s thrilling raw rollercoaster ride. I definitely am enjoying each book in this series.
I sincerely hope my sanity will remain intact by the time all the books of the phenomenal Elite Seven series will come out. Because each book is getting more sinister, more twisted and more complex than the last one. Claire C.Riley has left me dazed and shocked and screaming for answers. Pray for me.
Now it’s the turn of Wrath’s story. And the story is no where near the finish after I read the last words. Samuel Gunner is in full on self destruct mode in his life. The only person he cares about is his sister Sabella. His difficult childhood and the indifferent abusive behavior from his father and family has made his heart a cold, dark and disturbed place. And his darkness comes out to play in bedroom and in underground fighting. Wrath is his way to deal with every problem. He is dominant, reckless, arrogant and such an enigma. His only escape is getting into the powerful secret society Elite Seven. At least he thinks so. But in reality he is getting tangled into the web of lies and power games. He is given the task to seduce and ruin Patience Noelle, the sweet caring and innocent daughter of the Mayor. And in the end he ends up ruining everything.
As the series is progressing , the story line is getting really complicated. So many secrets are coming out and my jaw kept hitting the floor. The last few chapters were a massive blow to my heart. So much heart break and tragedy happened in everyone’s life and it was almost unbearable. Samuel Gunner is the perfect bad boy full of angst and Patience is calm to his chaos. Claire C.Riley’s writing was stunning. And the chemistry was too hot to handle. The greed, the passion, the desperation, the games, the emotions- everything was on spot.
Get ready to lose yourself in the dark and deviant world of Elite Seven. Claire C.Riley has written an amazing story of love, lust and mind games. My mind is still reeling from the shocking turn of events. It was simply sensory overload.
Received ARC for Honest Review
This is the first book I have read by Claire C Riley. I quickly fell in love with her work. These characters are so incredibly well developed. The world (which I have come to know a bit from the other books in The Elite Seven series) was amazing. I was completely able to lose myself in this book. Wrath/Samuel is a character with so many layers. I am in awe of how well his character was created, and delved into. I look forward to reading more books by this author, and of course to the rest of The Elite Seven series.
Wrath is a hot ball of rage, and unresolved emotions with very little he cares about until he finds himself having to choose between two people and being free….I was hooked to find out what his choice would be and sucked in for the ride of the darkly decadent world these Authors have crafted for us. Hot as hades, exciting to boot, angsty as all get out, I couldn’t put it down!! I could inhale this series from start to finish!! I thank the Author for providing a copy to review!!

This series is unreal! No words can describe how incredible it is and Wrath seals the deal. Samuel grew up in a horrible childhood. The only light is his twin sister, Sabella and he will do anything to protect her. If you have been reading the series you know each sin gets assigned a task and Samuels is a doozy! He reconnects with a childhood friend but can that friendship withstand what’s coming? This book will keep you on the edge of your seat. More secrets, more intrigue, more devastating, just unbelievably more. The emotions I felt while reading this can’t even be fully described. Just know this, you need this series in your life and you need to read Wrath. Can’t wait for the next Sin!!
4.25 stars
From a very young age, Samuel Gunner learned the hard way how it felt to be unwanted. Even though he came from a wealthy family, life had no meaning if it wasn’t for his sister. Craving independence, he wanted to be part of the Elite Seven but things were not as easy as it seemed especially when Patience Noelle was thrown into the equation.
One thing this book is successful in achieving is incurring my wrath. And I meant it in a good way – wrath for what happened to the characters, their actions and the consequences.
From the powerful prologue, I can’t help but root for Samuel. And the last 20% were breathtakingly intense. However, I had an issue with the middle. I could already predict which direction the story was going because it mirrored what happened in the last two books in the series.
I’m glad that it ended up taking a different turn that shook up the story, which what this series needed. I loved how the book ended even though technically the storyline is not concluded which made me curious about how it’s going to be tackled in the next book.
Wrath is a story of taking control. I’m hoping the next one will take the series to a more daring direction.
Just finished Wrath and I don’t know quite how to feel about it or what I should feel. I feel really raw and tired right now, this series has definitely been surprising in a lot of ways that I wasn’t expecting at all. It’s been a really good one and I’m looking forward to continuing it, but I’m glad I have a bit of a break before Envy because I have a feeling that one’s going to be a bit crazy.
As for Wrath, I can’t say that I love it as much as the first two books, but that doesn’t mean that it was a bad book, because it most certainly was not. It kept me invested in Samuel’s story the whole way through, it was steamy and heartbreaking and gut wrenching. Wrath made me feel a lot, especially the very last part of this book even if I didn’t particularly want to, but that’s the mark of a great book and it was truly a worthy addition to this series. This was my first time reading Claire C. Riley and I will for sure read her again.
We meet Samuel “The Machine “ Gunner and his sister, Sabella. Their mother died while giving birth to Samuel. Their father, Maxwell blames Samuel for his wife’s death. Their grandparents beat Samuel. Samuel defies his father’s wishes at every turn but is desperate to join an Elite secret society. Samuel gets his invitation to join at his mother’s grave which he visits every day. Samuel must stay out of trouble and other expelled from school or he and his sister will be cut off financially.
This book was just as sick and twisty as Lust and Pride. I loved Samuel, Sabella and Patience. I can’t wait for Envy. So excited
Hell hath no fury like a man on the path to revenge! Samuel from the beginning hasn’t had the one thing he’s always craved, love of another! The absence of such feeling has caused him to be a man that lashes out and has so much hate inside he rages at anyone who opposes him! Even when he finds someone to help heal the wounds of his tarnished childhood he still holds a fury deep within that just might be his undoing!!
The web being spun in each book has my mind reeling with what is going on in the background that we have yet to see and just where all this is going! I’m on pins and needles waiting for each book!
I’m not sure who had the ingenious idea for this series, but I sure am glad to have found it! This is book 3 and it is dark, intense and played on my emotions. I felt Wrath’s pain, anger, rage, need for revenge and love for his sister Sabella and Patience. I was a little disappointed with the ending, I want to know what happened to Patience. Thank goodness I only have 14 days to wait! I highly recommend this series.
The Elite series keeps getting better and better with each new book and after Wrath I am beyond hooked on this series. Samuel’s story broke my heart and left me teetering on the edge of my seat. Sam has definitely lived up to his sin Wrath. His childhood was one that left me angry and wanting to seek revenge on his behalf. There was so much depth to Samuel’s character that I couldn’t help but feel all his emotions as he struggled with the demons that wouldn’t let him be. I loved the bond between Patience and Samuel and how she became the calm to all his rage. Let me just say that things between Sam and Patience definitely heated up the pages of my Kindle and made for some deliciously captivating scenes. Things are quickly developing within the Elite and by the end of his book Wrath left me ready to throw my Kindle in frustration. I only stopped myself when I realized how much I need more of this series and can’t wait to see what twist is next in this addictive series.
The Elite Seven series has overlapping timelines, which is fine, frustrating at times because there are certain moments we see over and over again, and there weren’t many in this book, but I’m kind of over those scenes we have revisited in each book. I also found myself wanting to skim to get to the Elite storyline in Wrath. There was A LOT of backstory and setup to get to why Samuel wanted in the Elite and why they wanted him, and I found myself wanting to skip ahead to his invitation and task.
Once we finally got into Samuel’s Elite experience, I was invested in his success, both in his pursuit of his woman and in how he was going to carry out his task. I understood his intentions and the desperate need to escape the abuse and neglect he and his sister had lived with for their entire lives. I loved that Patience was someone who had been important during a pivotal time in his life and, even if the circumstances were less than ideal, that she was back in his life while he was so determined to change it again. Their connection, though not a significant focus of this book, felt deeper and more real than the previous two novels because they had the shared experiences from their childhood to draw on.
The action of Wrath was incredibly concentrated, which made it feel more intense and urgent. There was a lot less of the politics of The Elite in Wrath, which was a double-edged sword. I was glad not to have to deal much with the she-demon from the previous two books, but I feel like Samuel is in the dark about how harrowing things have been for his brothers. It was a devastating storyline, and there were horrific consequences for more than one person, but it served well to remind me that things don’t always come to a happy resolution, especially when wretched creatures are pulling strings.
Wrath needs another editing pass. Even overlooking Ms. Riley’s insistence on using ‘alternate spellings’ of espresso (expresso, *shudder*) and whiskey (whisky, ugh), there were tons of other misused words, usually replacing the intended word with a homophone.
Wrath is the third book in the Elite Seven series. Each book in the series is written by a different author, about a different sin, with different characters, but to get the complete picture of what is going on at St. Augustine’s with The Elite, the series will need to be read in its entirety.
Holy mother of Christ does this series keep getting better and better…The Elite Seven is a series by seven separate author telling one story of seven of the different deadly sins and these should definitely be on your must read list. One of the things that I continue to love about this series is how each book brings us just a bit further into the story but they all share mostly the same timeline, just from another’s perspective.
This book is all about Wrath and it’s his turn to prove his loyalty to the Elite. Just like previous books, he is faced with a task that he is sure will be easy…until it came to carrying it out. Now he has to choose and it is not going to be an easy one.
Even though Wrath is a jerk in a major way, I actually think I love him best so far. I now understand how protective and caring he can be for those he loves and it brings down the jerk factor a lot for me. Plus I don’t think this author could have paired him with a better match so it was even better for me. I highly recommend that you check out this series! It is definitely worth it!

I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie’s Book Reports.

This first thing I can tell you is your going to about have heart failure when this book ends. It is going to take me a while to recover!!! I am going to go ahead and put it out there that all the books in this series have been five star reads for me but this one…..holy wow. I don’t even have the words to say how intense and good it was. This is the story of Wrath and this poor guy has never been really loved. Not by his dad, or his grandparents. He never stood a chance to not be the kind of angry guy he is. His mother died giving birth to him and his twin sister. The only person on earth he really cares about. His mission not that he is older if to get into the Elite and destroy his father and everything he ever built. Can he and will he. Or will the thing he has to do to get into the Elite be the thing that opens his eyes to a new world he has never know and just isn’t willing to give up for anyone. You have to read and find out. But I will tell you your gonna love it and will not want to put it down. I can not wait of the next book in this series. I am loving them all so much.
