I am WRATH
The third book in The Elite Seven Series is, again, a solid four star read. The series is getting better with each sin.
Wrath, Samuel Gunner, has a story that is not one a child should have, turning him in the angry jerk he is. But, in light of his circumstances, his behaviour is understandable and I think he is a likeable and honourable character.
Wrath has lost all contact with his childhood friend and crush, Patience Noelle, for a long time so he is convince that his task would be an easy one seduce Patience Noelle, St. Augustine’s sweetheart and the mayor’s beloved daughter—then break her heart.
Spending time with Patience makes Wrath realise that his childhood crush is still very much alive, so hands in his coin. But will he be able to execute the new task?
Will he be able to make amends with his father and what will happen with his twin sister, Sabella?
~Accepting the bad with the good~
—>>> The sole person in Samuel holds in high regard is his twin sister Sabella, for time and time again, his father and grandmother, the matriarch of the Gunner family, have made it quite clear he was not worthy of their love.
Somehow he ends up at his sister’s school after getting kicked out of his, determined to make it at St. Andrews and also become a member of a club and society, whispered about and shrouded in secrecy, The Elite.
Suddenly, he is Wrath, and his life becomes immensely complicated. A girl from his past becomes his task, and he now had two precious women to protect. This installment is one emotional ride, and Wrath is going everything he can to stay on top of the water, but one by one, his lifesavers are disappearing!
Oh each book in this series just gets better and better. This is the first book by this author that I have read. I will be going back and reading more from Ms. Riley.
Wrath, oh he is anger, pain and hate all wrapped up in a beautiful package. His whole life has been nothing but disappointment and let downs. The only small bit of light in his dark world is Patience. Childhood friends that get separated by the fate of the adults in their world.
Wrath embraces his “task” his sin at first. But when he realizes the true consequences of his task. He wants out. But is it too late.
What happens to both Wrath and Patience absolutely broke my heart and I am hoping for them to get the ever after they deserve!
I enjoyed Ms. Riley’s writing style, it flowed beautifully and the chemistry between Wrath and Patience was electric! Don’t think I didn’t embrace the names both characters, Wrath and Patience….they needed each other and will always need each other.
The ending of this book took my breath away! I will be waiting on tenterhooks for Envy’s story next. I love how each book in this series combines together. Well done Ms. Riley, you have a new fan in me!
“Wrath is a strong anger and hate toward another person”
“Patience cures Wrath by one first understanding the needs and desires of others before acting or speaking”

Wrath is the third book in the Elite Seven series and boy is it a rollercoaster of a read. This book was my favorite in the series…so far. This is my first book by Claire C. Riley, and I did like her writing style and her character development. This book can be read as a standalone, but I would not recommend it. All three of the books in this series are intertwined by the story, and the characters overlap in all the books thus far.
Samuel Gunner is Wrath, and this is Wrath and Patience’s story. I have to wonder if the author picked the heroine’s name because of the meaning of the word patience. I love it when an author does this, and the heroine fits her perfectly. Samuel and Patience have known each other since they were children. Friends who relied on one another until Wrath let his anger get the better of him and he purposely hurts Patience. Then Patience vanishes from Samuel’s life.
Samuel and his twin sister, Sabella know what it’s like to grow up unloved by the people who should protect and love them, their father and grandparents. Because of this abuse, Samuel deals with life with his fists, fighting and destroying anything that gets in his path. His only concern in the world is to protect and help his sister have a better life. This is where the Elite comes in. Samuel believes that the Elite will help them get away from under their father and grandparents controlling ways. This is when the story gets interesting. The Elite gives Wrath his task, and that task is…Patience. Patience hasn’t had an easy life either. Patience is a treasure; she is strong and independent but also all goodness and light. Both these characters are so broken that they fit together perfectly. The intensity and sexual attraction between Patience and Samuel was crazy, who would have thought sweet Patience could be so dirty. I enjoyed the direction the author took with their relationship, the ups and downs, and twists and turns and of course the sacrifices they make for each other. However, you know that’s all I can say!
Be warned, like the other books this one also ends with a cliffhanger.
What has the green-eyed monster, Envy, done???
Wrath (The Elite Seven #3) by Claire C. Ripley is the next book in the deadly sins. Samuel Gunner is Wrath. He was raised in an unloving and neglectful family. His mother child died in childbirth. Ignored by a father who blamed him for his beloved wife’s death, he and his twin sister were left to raised by mean nannies. In order to shield his sister from most of the abuse, he decided to keep the focus on himself by acting out. Now grown he is an angry young man who sees the Elite as a way to get from under his family’s thumb as well as save his sister. Each book has the men given a task that has taken them to the brink. Wrath is no different. This is my first time reading this author and I enjoyed the way she told Samuel’s story. I loved the way she ended the book as well as not happy the way she ended the book. The ending definitely has me salivating for Envy’s book but if what I want to know is not addressed in that book and have to continue through another book for a resolution to Wrath’s story I might do something drastic. Not really! I am really looking forward to not on the conclusion to Wrath’s story but where all the guy’s from the Elite Seven end up. Really interesting stories. Bring on Envy. 4 stars for me.
Dark, twisted, steamy, and gritty. Loved the unexpected twists and turns. Ckaire C. Riley does a great job of grabbing the reader with an addicting plot and keeping their attention rapt with the twists and turns. It alao had complex, addicting characters that I hope to see in the other books within this series. I really enjoyed this book and look forward to reading her other books. I highly recommend reading this book and the other books in this gripping series.

Phew… I feel like I need a breather after reading Samuel’s story. Claire is new to me, and this was a great introduction to her as an author.
The sin of Wrath… the rage, the anger, the DOMINANCE… they were a living, breathing being, that you could feel thudding in your hands. With each sin, we get a new perspective, and more insight into the world of The Elite. The view from Samuel was intense, and had me anxious for what was next. What extreme would he hit next? Could he fulfill the task, and not lose the last shred of himself? Even with one question answered, more took there place. When he is given his task, a wall he has built around himself starts to fall apart, one stone at a time. Starting with Patience, the one who got away. I will say, I wish I had a bit from Patience’s perspective, but even still I am amazed at the loyalty and strength it took to stand up for and next to Samuel.
As this series continues, I become more enveloped in the smoke and mirror and secrecy of the world these authors have created. I am eager to get my hands on Envy, and the continuation of this story/series.
Samuel “Wrath” Gunner was raised in a privileged home, but never felt the love or adoration of a parent. Learning to protect himself and his sister, Samuel harnessed the hatred and remained focused on revenge. Becoming part of the Elite is his ticket to independence, but Samuel will have to decide to follow his plan or take a risk and deviate.
Told solely from Samuel’s POV, the immediate tone is grim and this experience certainly fuels his wrath. Not letting many see his vulnerable side, Samuel revisits a friend who once had significance in his life. While Samuel believes he has the situation under his control, it all unravels.
Being the third book in the Elite series, the implications of becoming a selected member is full of consequences. What I do like is how each book is following the same timeline, while focusing in depth on the titled book character. This writing strategy is allowing the plot to solidify while creating intrigue to continue the series.
In Wrath, the character development was thoughtful and I liked the push/pull dynamic between Samuel and Patience. As with other books in the series, the romance element is starting to feel formulaic in how it ties into the Elite, but I am still interested to know the motivations and ultimate end game for all these characters. Lastly, this is my first book by Claire C. Riley and I found her writing to be engaging and look forward to reading more of her books.
Wrath is about sacrifice and vengeance. This book will appeal to those seeking a story driven by suspense with romantic elements.
This dark, raw and gritty read was mind-boggling and stunned me speechless. It lured me deeper into this secretive society. The tasks that was assigned to the initiates were brutally cruel. I started to wonder if living with knowing what one has done was worth the promise of wealth and power. Samuel and Patience’s second chance romance was intense and the sexy times were naughty. I was completely shocked and not expecting the painful and unjust outcome at the end. There were so many questions unanswered and I feel Wrath’s story was not completely done. Envy had some explaining to do and I cannot wait for his book to come next.
Note: The Elite Seven series is a collaboration of work from seven different authors. The series has a continuing backstory of seven individuals’ initiation to a secretive society. Therefore, it must be read in order.
I received an advance reviewer copy of the book for free in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

Three books… three stories… and STILL so many secrets to find out.
After reading Wrath I feel more hungry than I was after finnishing previous books. I’m not sure who and how figured out concept for this stories… but for sure it was some genious.
I didn’t have opportunity to read other books from this author. I’m compeletely new to mrs Reily and hery work, but I can say that I liked what she’s done with Sam and Patience storyline.
There were a lot of dark places when this author lead me in Wrath… I won’t lie, it wasn’t essy journey. Sometimes I feel stone on my chest because obviously Claire C. REILEY created world matched to 7 Elite Series… however it was much more darker for me than in Lust and Pride. Most part of this book I wanted to throw my kindle away…. I wanted scream to Wrath : run or fight, there’s no turning back. Gahhhh YES this book played games with my heart and mind.
Sam aka Wrath is ideal for his role. He is broken as much ad he could be because of very not kindly times. His anger, his need to be loved was the strongest feelings I had for him. Obviously he thinks he could live without any people around, besides his sister…. but somewhere around the corner there’s good for sure… just waiting to reach it up. Patience looks like sweet and innocent girl, but she’s great rival for cheeky bastard Sam. I liked how author describe their relationship, their fight to run the world, with their own rules, where love should only count.
This book is part of series so I highly recomended it to read in right order, however it could be read as separate story.
Wrath is the third book in the Elite Seven series and the farther I get into the series, the deeper it has me hooked. Samuel is our hero and he is the embodiment of Wrath, for good reason. His heroine is Patience and she is kind, caring and courageous. There is no denying that when these two get together the sexual tension is high.
Make sure you read Lust and Pride first to avoid spoilers… plus it allows the overall story to flow better.
Wrath, anger, revenge and more anger. This story has a lot of horrible family and a damaged son. Seemingly, Samuel has everything life can offer but looks are deceiving and when he turns into Wrath he has a chance to get his revenge. His mission has always been to protect his twin sister and then he gets his task from Elite that brings an old sweetheart back into his life. But Wrath decision about his task caused harm to Patience and his sister and he’s on the warpath to wreak havoc on the nasty Lillian and those responsible for hurting his girls. The author did a great job with the backstory of Wrath and Patience so that their romance didn’t seem too rushed. These two are kinky though! Sometimes Wrath’s anger was almost too much and his need for control overwhelming. This story brings in Envy and we find out why he’s freaked out at the end of Pride and exposes more of his personality and talents. We still don’t know what his task is that was delivered in Pride but his story is next. And there’s still the mystery surrounding Pride’s sister. He goes a little crazy between what happens to Patience (a cringeworthy event) and his sister’s disappearance. But his brothers are there for him and we have to wait for the next story to find out where Sabella is and what he’s going to do to Envy. On pins and needles here! I voluntarily reviewed an ARC.
Wow this is the 3rd book in the Elite Seven series and just when I was thinking the storyline was so similar to the first 2, BOOM, I didn’t see that coming. I was so surprised with what I was reading, I didn’t think the author would go there, but hell yes she did, she didn’t hold back and it added sooooo much more to the story. It’s made it deliciously salacious. I love it when an author ‘goes there’.
I’m Samuel “The Machine” motherfucking Gunner. Wretched brother to a twin sister, shameful son of a dead mother, an undefeated champion in the ring, and a master of sin in the bedroom.
This is Samual Gunner’s aka Wrath’s story and it evokes so many emotions. It’s raw, heart felt and boy is it intense.
To say this series was fantastic at the beginning of book 1 and 2 it just keeps on getting better and better. Wrath surprisingly ends on a cliffhanger and I just can’t wait for bk 4 Envy. It’s going to be a doozy and I need answers……..NOW…..

From the first page this story had me captivated. Sam was physically strong and he appeared to be emotionally strong as well, but the truth is that he was lacking the support and love that everyone needs to grow and develop. His dad hated him. His mom was dead. His grandparents were monsters. Every adult who was supposed to love and care for him and his sister didn’t. His story was heartbreaking, and yet I loved every page….well, except the last one – because the book was over, but the story wasn’t. I can’t wait to get the next book in this series and see where the characters take us.
I found myself holding my breath frequently while reading. What would this new setback do to Sam? How would Patience react when their time was up? What lengths would Sam really go to in order to be a part of the Elite? Just a constant knot in my stomach as I read his story. Sam stole a piece of my soul, not just my heart. I don’t know if I’ll ever be the same after reading this one!
Even though this one ended with much more of a cliffhanger than the first two books in the series, I still loved it and can’t wait to continue. This series is so unique in the way it’s being told and I’m loving each of the sins just a little more each time.
*** I voluntarily read a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review ***
*** My review is based on the pre-edited early edition so grammatical errors were not taken into consideration for the review ***
My mind decided to turn itself off. After reading Wrath I have more questions than answers and I can’t connect the dots! This read is full of suspense, lust and secrets.
Each candidate has his own reason for wanting to become a member of The Elite. For Sam it’s the pull out for him and his sister from their father’s thumb. A father who ignored them all of their lives and blamed them for something they didn’t really have an impact on. Sam’s life is filled with anger, hatred and guilt. The only thing that brings him relief and a moment of oblivion is illegal fights and sex.
Like the other candidates, Sam has to complete the task assigned to him to get into the elite society – break the heart of the Major’s daughter. Only Sam knows sweet Patience. Years ago they were friends and the girl had already her heart broken by Sam. But for Sam the game is taking place at a high rate. But he didn’t suspect that Patience would be the greatest solace for his troubled soul and the light for his black heart.
Wrath is definitely a darker story than the previous 2 parts in the series. There is more brutality and less morality in it. However, the situations presented in it add spice to the story. The end of this book made me want to tear my hair out of my head because I didn’t expect such a turn of events. I need answers!
Great read. I recommend!
This series is simply insane and without a doubt one of the most bloody perfectly inspired ideas that has ever been created. The pure rawness that runs through every corner of The Elite Seven world takes you hostage and changes you. An experience that never can be forgotten.
Book after book, story after story, character after character establishes, even more, its majestic darkness and deliciousness. You just can’t help yourself from being pulled to its depth.
This time, the spotlight belongs to Samuel Gunner, aka the Seven Wrath. From where to begin really with him. He is such a diverse male and has so many different layers that it’s impossible to find just one word to describe him. He is so many but so few at the same time. As for the connection he (re-)develops with Patience has the intensity and power that can’t be put into words. You only need to see the shivers that are going down my back every 20 seconds to get a fraction of what is happening between them inside those pages.
DAMN! I still haven’t realized and got my breath back from what happens in the EPILOGUE and that excruciating last 25%!! The shock is too much! I am all over the place, even in my sleep.!
The Elite Seven continues as dark, deranged and dangerous as before. I’m learning to expect the unexpected; don’t assume we’ll receive answers and romance isn’t a priority in this series. I wanted to love Wrath—a man hellbent on enacting revenge on an unloving father with a penchant for sexual deviance used to conquer and destroy an innocent woman called to me. However, the execution was lackluster.
“I don’t love like most. I love darkly, cruelly, and brutally, or not at all.”
Driven by hatred and fuelled by vengeance inspired by harrowing childhood experiences, Samuel Gunner won’t stop until the Elite Seven notices his presence. But when they finally notice, in an unexpected turn, Samuel is torn between protecting Sabella, his twin sister and luring the mayor’s sweet daughter, Patience.
Patience Noelle is an endearing, innocent woman caught within this devious game. I admired the attitude she showed Samuel, creating an enemies to lovers vibe with an irresistible and delicious chemistry between two opposites. Intense and heated, the encounters between Samuel and Patience are sexually deviant, passionate and filthy. And the way Patience manages to keep Samuel grounded—the rare occurrences of sweetness to soothe the raging bitterness—makes my heart flutter tenfold!
“I’m not the good guy, and I’ve never claimed to be. I’ve surrounded myself with rage and darkness, embracing the hateful side of myself for so long, it’s become a living thing inside me.”
I loved these two characters together, but the moments we witness between them is awfully limited, making it difficult to fully appreciate their chemistry. Reading the beginning and ending of this novella made me lose interest—Samuel’s backstory was far too descriptive, a massive information dump essentially that could’ve been disclosed through flashbacks or passing remarks. And the crude sex scenes featuring other woman to highlight Samuel’s deviant nature wasn’t really necessary.
Wrath sets a different tone for this series. It is lengthier, written with gripping scenes and tantalising encounters that made this difficult to step away from; however, it is missing more moments between Samuel and Patience, as well as deeper insight into the Elite Seven. In saying that, if you are into mind-numbing and jaw-dropping dark romances; a dominant hero; an endearing heroine, I recommend picking up this series because while it does lack in certain areas, it is good for what it is!
7 authors, 7 books, 7 sinners – with WRATH by Claire C. Riley being the third in this series. After book one and two I knew I needed to keep my expectations on the romance side of things on the lower side – and this is exactly what I did. It helped, but I still caught myself wishing for more … well, emotions, basically. I’m working on that one, because that issue aside, this is one intricately weaved, masterfully constructed series that has me reveling in every new shocking secret that is revealed.
However, there was one pressing issue I had with Samuel, which were his too frequent interactions – let’s call it that – with other women. Patience is not really getting that much screen time in her own story. This combination … it just didn’t sit well with me. What can I say? I might love polyamorous relationships, with “amorous” being the crucial word here.
All those aspects concerning the romantic part of the story aside, this was one very well-developed, well-written addition to the Elite Seven story. More secrets, more mysteries, and even more questions raised. And that ending … I need more of this secret society immediately – well, I need ENVY, stat.

They have done it again!!! Wrath by Claire C. Riley is the third installment in The Elite Seven series. Each book just keeps getting better and better and this series is definitely in my top series to read!!!
It truly amazes me how there are seven books altogether, each one written by a different author following a different sin and how they all interconnect and tell a little more of the story. Oh, this one left me hanging!!! Thank God the next book comes out soon because I can’t wait to read it!!!!
This story is about Wrath, aka Samuel Gunner, and the life he has led. No one will stand in his way or they will feel his wrath. The Elite is his ticket out but when he is given his task, he will need Patience.
This story is not so cut and dry. It will leave you heartbroken and begging for more!!! The ups and downs of the emotional rollercoaster are at their finest here.
God, I love this series, every book is intertwined but oh so different. Wrath brings so much more into what we already know about the Elite and yet we are still in the dark about it.
In this story, we get Samuel Gunner who is a screwed up boy due to his father and how his whole family treats him. Samuel takes on the brunt of the abuse that comes from everyone and protects his twin sister. So when he is accepted into the Elite, he has the way to destroy his father and family.
However, to get the Elite’s help, he has to destroy an old family friend, Patience Noelle. She is everything he has ever wanted but thinks he doesn’t deserve. Wrath is a strange and hard love story that ends with a twist so be prepared
