I’m a motherless son to a father who hates me. Fury has lived and breathed in my black heart for so long, it’s a part of my soul now. The only thing that’s ever mattered to me is protecting my twin sister, Sabella, from my father’s temper. So when the chance to join a secret society presents itself, there’s no question I’ll do whatever it takes to become a member and earn my place in the ranks of … the ranks of only the most Elite.
With a taste for the deviant, I’m drawn to the darkest of desires, and no one ever leaves my bed unscathed.
My task: seduce Patience Noelle, St. Augustine’s sweetheart and the mayor’s beloved daughter—then break her heart.
Sinning is what I live for, and deviance is my passion. Failing has never been an option.
But what happens when my sin becomes my curse—when destroying the only woman I’ve ever wanted is my key to protecting my sister?
Accept your sin wisely, for the tasks given to earn your place are not for the weak…they’re for The Elite.
This isn’t just my chance, it’s my legacy and reckoning.
I am Samuel Gunner.
I am Wrath.
more
Samuel Gunner/Wrath is a very angry young man. He’s suffered years of abuse, more than his share in order to protect his twin sister, and he’s fed up. Now that he feels like he’s grown, he’s more likely to solve his problems with his fists rather than his words. His fists allow him to unleash his rage. His fists give him the space to breathe. His fists are his answer to most everything. Even entrance to The Elite. When a man feels like he has no heart, he’s willing to do just about anything. So what happens when the task he’s required to complete to be “in” takes away the new heart he’s found?
I felt that this book took a bit of a departure from where I thought this story was going. It felt like it’s own story within the story. I loved it’s erotic feel and Sam’s need for control.
But the tone was different, the character I had come to know as Wrath was different, and the side characters seemed different. Nothing was really as I thought it was, yet it was still the same. Like looking at everything through a different lens, I guess. I found it really hard to connect with Samuel. I just wanted him to calm the hell down. I wasn’t a fan of the scenes with him and other women, although they did help build what was supposed to be his character’s preferences and personality. I’m still not really feeling his relationship with Patience, although I think that given some more time, I would be. In the end, this was a quick, hot read with one wowza of an ending. I’m loving this series and I can’t wait to see what’s next for these guys!
The story of Wrath become my favorite sin, the book exploded on every page, consumed your quest for answers and rocked so hard. Samuel is a complex character that has built up this wall of hardness to protect his broken heart and troubled life. You seem him rise and fall over and over again.
“I am Samuel “The Machine” Gunner… Wretched brother to a twin sister, shameful son to a dead mother, an undefeated champion in the ring, and a master of sin in the bedroom.”

“You don’t move, you don’t touch, and you don’t come until I say you can.”
This series is so lit!! Every book I am left more speechless, more crazy and needing the next installment. The authors blend so smoothly, you actually get lost in the fact you are reading someone new. I had not read a Clare Riley book, but she is awesome. The titles and/or sins of these books become the major factor in the book. With wrath you are constantly in turmoil, wrecked and destroyed repeatedly. Riley lures you into thinking Samuel is redeeming himself, then slams you back into his truth. Samuel Gunner is dark, twisted and there will never be anything good about him.
Don’t miss out on this series, READ this BOOK.
This was an ARC review, this is my honest opinion.
The Elite Seven series includes 7 books, by 7 authors, about 7 Deadly Sins. Unless you’ve been living under a rock or maybe a serious book haze, you’ve seen the hype surrounding this series. And if you’ve had the pleasure of reading the first two installments, then you know. It’s so justified. I thought I knew this series, but author Claire C. Riley blew through my every expectation like a hurricane with Samuel’s story. Mind BLOWN. It’s raw, intense, explosive, and utterly heart-wrenching. Another deviant and broken hero, another ruthless task, another sin becomes a curse. I’m not going to give away details because you simply have to unravel this one yourself! Expect jaw-dropping moments, angst through the roof, heat for days, and a book you just cannot put down! The Elite giveth, and the Elite taketh away. Immerse yourself in this highly addictive and ultra sectret society and one-click Wrath today! Enjoy babes xo
After The Elite Kings Club, here is the Elite Seven. It seems that these elites come to me very much: D But the joke set aside: I had no luck with Claire C. Riley’s books so I didn’t know what to expect. I have to admit this part I liked the most. The plot spun, there wasn’t any dull moment. We can read the story from Wrath’s perspective. The story is taking place at this time with a small amount of retrospect.
Samuel ‘Wrath’ Gunner is a strong character who has never denied his feelings and I really liked it. He turned several times to the police wich does not bring good light on him. He will be disbelieving in the eyes of others. Unfortunately, this is not only wrong with itself. But will he be able to forgive himself?

This was such a good story to read from a new arthur for me and I’ll definitely be looking into more of her book’s.
This is the 3rd book in The Elite 7 series of the seven deadly sins and I tell you these stories just keep getting better and better.
This story is about Samuel Gunner who has had to grow up fast in a family that has hated all his life except his twin sister for which he’d do anything in the world for, but sometimes thing’s come with a price as he’s been invited into the Elite where you do their bidding to stay in. He’s been given his task the only thing is can he follow through with it or not.
This is my opinion and my review
OMG! Seriously! No! I need answers now!!
Samuel aka Wrath is omg phenomenal! I have said this before and I’ll say it again. This series just keeps on getting better and better as each book comes out.
Samuel definitely ruined the name Wrath for sure. When he goes big, he definitely goes big and doesn’t care what happens. From his childhood to being an adult Wrath was told he wasn’t good enough and took the pain so his twin sister didn’t have to know how bad things really were. He does everything in his power to get noticed by the Elite and when he does, little does he know that they have him and not in the wya the thought.
Patience, she’s the sweet little girl that makes friends with Samuel when they are little. He does something that ruined their friendship and she moves away. Years later when she sees him again she angry and makes it known that she doesn’t want Samuel around.
Samuel and Patience have this undefeated chemistry that they can’t deny each other. And as the story goes Wrath finds himself in a hard place of doing what he needs to and doing what’s right.
I really enjoyed see more of the past and to come elites. Envy is definitely something else and not sure how I feel on him definitely now with the cliffy at the end. As we know each Elite book ends with a cliffhanger and this one just like the rest leaves us wanting more and needs answers.
This being my first ever read from this author I find myself wanting to read more of her which I definitely will do.
Can’t wait for Evny’s Book bc like I said I need answers!!!
5 plus stars!
My emotions feel so ramped up after this one! This story was gritty, intense and out of control. Samuel Gunner was such a broken and angry young man. I just wanted to wrap him up and try to fix him. Patience is a sweet, girl from his childhood who he’s tasked to break. I loved how she was so much stronger and willing to not only hold her own with Samuel but to step up to fight for what’s right. This entire story was such a twisted and impossible situation. But what do you expect with the Elite? This series just keeps getting better and better!
Other than sounding great, I figured this series would introduce me to some new authors. This is not one of them. I am not sure what I read in this one. We’re introduced to the characters as kids, and they split up when he is cruel to her. Samuel’s whole story centered on his hatred for his father and his love for his sister, Sabella. Patience was just…there. Sabella is his reason for seeking out the Elite. His mission: seduce Patience and break her heart. He hasn’t seen her since childhood. So all of a sudden, they reunite. Passion is still there. Sex. And then he’s claiming to love her. I feel like the romance part of this story came together in a chapter. There’s friends to lovers, then there was this. It’s unrealistic how it all came together. And even when fighting his task for her, his whole focus is his sister. I’m not sure if it’s the author or the story, but this one missed the mark by a long shot. Also, Wrath’s penance for sex is what Lust should have been described as. Despite his anger, this is the man we needed for Lust
Samuel Gunner grew up in an abusive household- told by his father he was the reason for his mother’s death and physically assaulted by his grandparents as well as countless nannies. Samuel learned early on that if he acted up, he could keep the focus and pain on himself and off of his twin sister Sabella. As Samuel grew, so did his anger. Now, Samuel is looking for a way to permanently separate himself from his father. The opportunity comes when Samuel learns about the Elite, a secret society with power and money. Samuel attracts their attention, but has to complete a task in order to get in. The task is to seduce and then break the heart of the mayors daughter, Patience. This would typically be an easy task for Samuel; however, Patience is the only girl that Samuel has ever considered a friend and he broke her heart years ago.
Wrath is the third book in The Elite Seven series and now some of the stories are beginning to connect and the Elite players are becomming familiar. Samuel is a difficult character to connect to. With his sin of wrath Samuel is a difficult character to get to know. He is angry and a jerk all the time to pretty much everyone around him, even to those who don’t deserve it. It wasn’t until a little after halfway through the story when Samuel receives his Elite task with Patience that he begins to soften and we can see his true personality. The romance with Patience seemed a little off to me, but considering their past history was probably just right for them. The sex scenes didn’t capture me as much as the other books, but this may have been because of Samuel’s need for dominance. The ending leaves many questions to be answered with Samuel’s position within the elite, his sister Sabella as well as Elite brother Sebastian.
This book was received for free in return for an honest review.
This was my first book by Riley, and I have to say that it will not be my last.
I instantly liked her style and Samuel’s story was compelling to say the least. The anger and pain that he endured made me want him to achieve success in whatever he set out to do and destroy. The scenes with him at the cemetery were touching and showed that there was a softer side below the surface as well, which just added to his complexity. As the story went along, it began to feel as if things went off the rails as I was completely immersed in both the feelings and the action. The end had me already grabbing for the next book in the series. I am loving the Elite Seven and each book just keeps getting better and better.
3.5 stars
I’m struggling with my review for this book. Like most of the rest of the series, Wrath seemed to be more about the Elites Seven storyline rather than the romance between the two main characters. However I will say that this book had more of the couple’s relationship story than the previous ones have had. This was probably my favorite of the couple storylines so far in the series. But, this book was a struggle for me to get into. I was probably at 30% before I actually started to like the book. I have a really big issue with a main character being promiscuous and in this case Wrath was with at least three women that I can recall before we ever really even met the heroine. It’s just a turn off for me to read things like that and it became a struggle to get into liking Samuel very much. But as I said, this is probably my favorite of the couple’s stories and the Cliffhanger did leave me wanting more. I can’t wait to get into Envy’s story next.
This is about Sam aka Wrath and Patience. I loved this book! It has the twists and turns and things you never saw coming! Can’t wait to dive in to the next one!
This one so far is my favorite book and favorite character. My heart just went out to this character who was just so lost and broken by his own father that it made my heart ache. Like the first two the books gives a break down of the secret society that is trying to recruit these seven boys to do their dirty deeds. While they all have a task to complete to get into The Elite some of the things that they want these boys to do are down right just wrong. But thats what keeps you reading. You want to know if they will do it or not.
What in the holy cliffhanger just happened? Claire C. Riley has written an amazing book full of suspense and intrigue and more emotion than I can handle. There were more secrets revealed in this latest book of the Ekite Seven series. This latest book has killed me with the pain the characters went through. I loved every second of this story and I can’t wait for the next book in the series.
Amazing, this is turning in to be one hell of a series.
Gunner has gone through a lot of hurt but none of it or anything
could ever stop him from protecting his sister.
A soul full of anger.
Never having felt the love of a parent.
His need for independence is consuming.
More angst, mystery and chaos bringing me even deeper in.
Claire brought so much to this series, making it more twisted.
I loved it and very excited for envy.
What an amazing story I love the way the characters flow from one book to the other, it is a seamless transition. This book took it up a level. I am waiting with bated breath as I read to see what Wrath will do next, what is Pride up to and what about Gluttony. This was a fantastic book that kept me hooked to the last page and left me hungry for more. All these characters are perfectly flawed and so interesting. On to the next Story, ENVY.
Ah, what just happened?!
This was an interesting continuation of the series. After Pride, I had to know what was happening to Wrath. Unfortunately, it was just a bit of a let down for me. I was totally captivated by Pride, as a whole, that I was hoping it would continue into Wrath.
The one aspect that really fell flat for me was the romance. The other two books in the series, I felt, really concentrated on the romance. Yes, The Elite is number one, but the romances were number two. In Wrath, I felt Sab (the sister) was number two, which would have been fine, but Patience was presented as number two. I loved seeing the darker side of Samuel and how he interacted with Patience.
I’m curious to see where the next book takes us.
OMG what an ending!!!
Jeez…..book 3 in this series was so dang good! I can’t even put it into words! Wrath will put you on the edge and leave you desperate for the next book in the series! Definately read this series in order, as the characters intertwined in each book!!!
Wrath samuels story so suites him. An angry teenager who has every right to be with everything he has went through to protect his twin and himself. Can he save his twin and the girl he never realised he lovedand himself all for the sake of the Elite? Is the elite all that it seems? This series has it all so far and i have no doubt there is more to come. A must read series you will love. Cant wait for the other stories.
I am loving this series so far and I have been curious about Wrath as I feel like we didn’t know much about him. As with the previous 2 books in The Elite Seven series, this author is new to me. I like her writing style and plan to read more of her books. Samuel/Wrath is a hothead and he wants to be a member of the Elite for revenge and his love and protectiveness of his twin sister is admirable. Patience is a sweet character. It took a while to learn more about her other than that the two of them were closer when they were younger. I like how she didn’t immediately let him back into her life, but rather made him work for it. I am enjoying how with each book, we learn more about the game players and discover more lies and secrets.
