Melody Ripple was all alone in the world except for her sister, Laurel. The products of a dysfunctional family, the two have never been close. Then Laurel introduces her to an eligible bachelor with a shady past. Twenty-six years ago his fiancée was found murdered. Has Melody found the man of her dreams, or is she involved with a killer?
Meh. Not a great read. Not very original.
This book was easy to read. The characters were developed vividly, and the surprise ending really stays with you!
This book felt kind of slapped together. Editing was horrible. There were inconsistencies throughout the entire book. The author had a good start, but the whole story just seemed rushed and sloppy and then it just ended. I won’t go into a lot of detail so I don’t so any spoilers, but it just felt like the author didn’t know what to do with the story. I would have recommended a rewrite if I were their publisher.
Melody grew up in a volatile home. Her mother abused her both physically and verbally. Her older sister Laurel escaped the abuse and was considered the perfect child, which she proved over and over again that she wasn’t! Melody had to move back home after her father died to take care of her mother. Shortly after their mothers death Laurel introduces Melody to her boyfriends brother Matt. . Melody thinks she has finally met the man of her dreams. Could the dream turn out to be a nightmare????
The book is fast paced. I really didn’t see the ending turning out like it did!! There were a few times that Melody’s actions made me roll my eyes. Overall a good read
