I enjoyed this story about Ena of Ilbrea. I liked it so well that I wish it was longer. I am looking forward to the next book in the series. I recommend it to others who enjoy this genre. Alexandra Hunter’s narration was great and added to the story’s entertainment. I was given a free copy of the audiobook and I have voluntarily left this review.
This is an interesting start to a
**very ** promising series.
I’m looking forward the books
to come.
Enjoy !!

Megan writes so descriptively its easy to imagine that you are an eye witness to this story as it plays out. This book is the prequel to a new series and after the excitement that Ena has in trying to get to her brother the series is sure to be a hit.
Young adult and adult readers will enjoy this story of a head strong girl who is determined to find her brother in spite of the obstacles she encounters.
I give two thumbs up on this story as it leaves me wanting to experience Ena’s further adventures. Come join me in this grand adventure!
I realized after I started the Ena of Ilbrea series that this was a prequel. I expected to read about how Ena came to be with Lilly and how her parents died. Why her world is the way it is. But Ena finds herself in a desperate situation and figures out a way to help others as she makes her way out of it. While looking for her brother, she comes across a group of kids being held by the sorcerer. One just happens to be around her age and I can’t help but wonder if this is the original meet cute for a future character we see in Ember & Stone.
It’s not a bad start but I don’t think I’ve gained anymore knowledge having read it that couldn’t have been accomplished with a flashback montage.
This introduction to a medieval-esque fantasy world started in loss and despondence. Ena left her home searching for hope and a new start only to encounter corruption, depravity and a despotic government. But along the way she might also have found a quest and a purpose. Ending with more questions than answers, this book hints at a richly imagined world full of complex struggles.
The main character, Ena, is supposed to be 16-ish but came off as younger in most of the book – especially given the type of society she is part of. It will be interesting to see how her character develops as more of the story plays out.
I don’t usually read short prequels of actual series because I hardly ever found they worth the time and unfortunately this novella was no exception. It was a short introduction to a world and to a main character that I didn’t really learn anything about and a plot that didn’t really tell me anything. It did hint that the world might be interesting but again I’m talking about this book and not what the first one of the series might be. I can’t say that it was bad and hard to finish, it was an easy and fast read but was it actually worth it? I don’t think so. On the other hand, that might be the whole point of prequels and I’m the one that doesn’t know what I’m talking about. Either way, I didn’t get much out of this story.
Thank you to the author for an advanced copy. I voluntarily reviewed this book. All opinions expressed are my own.
Wrath And Wing

*REVIEW*
Wrath And Wing is a novella about a journey. The heroine, Ena, due to circumstances, journeys to her brother. This is the tale of her adventure. It was entertaining and engaging from beginning to end with a few twists and turns and bumps in the road. Honestly, the story felt overall like a prequel to another book or a series(there will be a second book). While I enjoyed reading the lovely descriptions and the premise of the story, I would have liked a bit more substantial characterization. Otherwise, Wrath And Wing was a fast interesting read that fantasy science fiction fans will enjoy.
