“Tucker, I want to tell you a secret.” Miss Ella curled my hand into a fist and showed it to me.
“Life is a battle, but you can’t fight it with your fists. You got to fight it with your heart.”
An internationally famous photographer, Tucker Mason has traveled the world, capturing things other people don’t see. But what Tucker himself can’t see is how to let go of the past and forgive his father. himself can’t see is how to let go of the past and forgive his father.
On a sprawling Southern estate, Tucker and his younger brother, Mutt, were raised by their housekeeper, Miss Ella Rain, who loved the motherless boys like her own. Hiring her to take care of Waverly Hall and the boys was the only good thing their father ever did.
When his brother escapes from a mental hospital and an old girlfriend appears with her son and a black eye, Tucker is forced to return home and face the agony of his own tragic past.
Though Miss Ella has been gone for many years, Tuck can still hear her voice—and her prayers. But finding peace and starting anew will take a measure of grace that Tucker scarcely believes in.

One of my favorite books now. I listened to the audio which was fabulous. I love Charles Martins’ writing.
My favorite Charles Martin! And I love them all
I enjoy all his books.
This was my first book by Charles Martin and it dragged a bit at the beginning but then really picked up and I couldn’t put it down. Since then I have read a few more of his books and enjoyed them all.
Wrapped in Rain is another wonderful book from Charles Martin. This author doesn’t back down from writing about the realities of life, from the gritty horrors that some people live every day of their lives. In WIR he tackles physical abuse and psych disorders and does it well, bringing out the horrors and struggles as well as the strength of …
I had a hard time getting into the story and characters. I finally gave up and deleted it from my iPad.
A twisted plot that ended well.
First part was a little hard to get into, but I stuck it out for the first couple chapters and it started to flow. Really good read!
I love this book by Charles Martin as is to be expected. He makes his characters like neighbors or family. Beautifully written.
Charles Martin never disappoints! These are real people struggling with real life. His writing style is entertaining and would be worth reading even if one didn’t like the story.
A terrifically delightful read. Charles Martin is masterful in his understanding of the subject matter involved and his ability to portray the characters. I would absolutely recommend this book.
A must read, Charles Martin at his finest.
Charles Martin is one of my favorite authors. Highly recommend.
There is nothing about this book I didn’t like except the father, but the end made up for that. Charles Martin is one of my favorite authors.
I have thoroughly enjoyed almost all of Charles Martin’s books. This one is one of my favorites. Very moving.
It took me a few chapters to get into this book, which is unusual for the Charles Martin book. (maybe it has something to do with this is the 4th of his books that I have read in a month.) It is a story about two brothers and a childhood friend, who have issues to deal with later in life. (Who doesn’t?) I checked both tragic and happily ever …
One of the best books of all time. Charles Martin is a masterful storyteller. I was hooked from the very first page. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE IT!

I will be now reading all of Charles Martin’s books. I’ve found a new …
Story of two brothers from a dysfunctional family, mistreated by a cold father but saved by a loving housekeeper. Each brother take a different turn in life. Don’t want to give away the ending but I loved this book. Note: Not for you if you’re somewhat religious.
I LOVED IT! It reminded me of much of my childhood which was sad but I had a grandmother who was “RAIN” to me.
Charles Martin is one of my favorite writers and he is close to the TOP!
