Bull riding is all Gavin’s known for years, but when it’s time to retire, he can’t let go of the reckless lifestyle. He finds a job that brings him to a small-town Texas ranch and face-to-face with the woman who snuck out after their one-night stand. She can pretend she’s over him, but he’s not letting her go that easily.Maize Bishop spends her days cooking and baking for her family’s bed and … for her family’s bed and breakfast. The last thing she has time for is a relationship, especially when there are no single men within a hundred-mile radius. When a mysterious newcomer flirts with her over drinks, she gives in to his mesmerizing green eyes and goes home with him.
Now that he works for her family’s ranch, she’ll avoid him at all costs.
There are only so many places to hide, and keeping her distance is easier said than done. After months of giving her space, Gavin’s tired of waiting for Maize to admit what he knows they both want—a second round between the sheets. It may only take eight seconds to win a championship, but he’ll prove to her that he can go all night long.
She’s too young, he’s too arrogant, and together, they’re electric—the perfect recipe for disaster.
**Wrangling the Cowboy is a complete standalone and can be read without reading any of the other books or series, but if you prefer to read in order, start with Hitching the Cowboy as the characters and families do interconnect.**

Another trip to Circle B Ranch and another Cowboy on the ropes trying to win the heart of one of the Bishop women. Wrangling the Cowboy is an age gap romance between retired bull rider Gavin Fox and Maize Bishop daughter of John and Milan Bishop and the chef at the Circle B B&B.
Stubborn and hard to break Maize Bishop had been burned in the past and now has one rule, no dating the cowboys who work for her family. Unfortunately this leaves Maize with very limited options. So when she meets a confident handsome Cowboy who hits all her hot buttons she throws caution to the wind and decides to fall into his bed. Filled with shame she runs out before he wakes thinking she will never see him again. So imagine her surprise when he is introduced to her as the new Ranch hand.
Gavin cannot get that one night from his mind. After a life on the road as a champion bull rider he is now looking to settle down and Maize Bishop is just his type unfortunately she is not going to make it easy for Gavin to claim her heart.
Sweet and light hearted this story explores more of lives of the next generation of the Bishop’s family and how they do not differ very much from their parents in their bumpy road to finding love. You have to love those Cowboys they really like to keep you on your toes
I couldn’t wait to read this book! The Maize in this book was different than I pictured her from the last book. I really came to like her and was excited to see what would happen between she and Gavin. They have some fiery, explosive chemistry. Their slow-burn romance though was hilarious and sweet to experience. Gavin has the patience of a saint! The best part though was the little things that he always did for her and the twist at the end!!
I voluntarily read an ARC for an honest review.
Gavin is my new favorite cowboys.
Maize has had her heartbroken before and is cautious of starting anything with Gavin but Gavin breaks all her barriers. Gavin is a no nonsense cowboy. He is to old to play games in life that includes his love life. He is straight forward and tells Maize exactly what he wants and lets her decide if that is a risk she is willing to take.
Gavin is refreshing to read and know and Maize is extremely cautious of being hurt again. The relationship of theirs is something we can relate to.
I am so ready to find out what happens with Kenzie and Grayson and Ellie and Dr. VetDreamy (Connor). Need more Circle B Ranch Books asap.
I’m so happy the Bishop family is always ready to welcome me home. This family and their ranch will always hold a special place in my heart and I absolutely devour every book in their world. I love this family as much as they love unconditionally.
After a steamy one-night stand with Gavin, Maize disappears the next morning expecting to never see him again. Little does she know, fate is about to step in, in a big way! Watching their relationship grow was enjoyable and Maize’s fears were relatable if not extremely frustrating at times. I really enjoyed the way this author duo flipped the script on the typical romance story. It was refreshing and real.
I will never get enough of these characters and after the way the epilogue unfolded, I’m dying to get my hands on the next book in this series!
Grateful to have received a complimentary ARC copy to honestly review.
Wrangling the Cowboy is another amazing story from Kennedy Fox! I was addicted to Gavin and Maize’s story right out of the gate – such incredible chemistry between them from the second they met, and that passion continued throughout the story.
Gavin…….he is sure one patient man! I don’t know how many guys would wait and long as he did for Maize – even when she continued to push him away (or pretend that she didn’t know him). And after Maize did it one too many times – and then realized how much she truly cared for Gavin – I loved how he made her work for it and prove that she truly did want him. He played the game for a while, but now, as he said, “Actions always speak louder than words, sweetheart.”
This second generation of Bishops finding love on the ranch…..ahh, I just can’t get enough! And seeing a couple of the other books hinted at in this one (Elle & Connor…..Kenzie & Grayson) – I already have my bags packed for the next trip back to the Circle B Ranch!
I think this is the best book by Kennedy Fox up to date! I loved these two! they were everything and oh so hot! I need more!
It’s no question that I love Kennedy Fox and all the books they write. Their heroes are swoony, the female leads always sassy and fun, and the plots are always exciting. That my friends, is no different with Wrangling the Cowboy and I enjoyed this sexy little treat so much! My only complaint is that I wanted MORE from Gavin and Maize’s story. It all happened too fast and I felt so sad when the story ended. I simply wanted to see them for a longer period of time because I fell hard and fast for them (especially Gavin).
If you’re a Kennedy Fox fan like I am, this is another must read!
:
Another fantastic addition to the series! Oh man did I love Gavin! He’s the complete package. He’s sexy and confident and I enjoyed the way he dealt with Maizie. Maizie frustrated me at times bc there was much good about Gavin, and she fought so hard against him lol. She made up for it though when she came to her senses. But I loved the way the story flowed, a little angst, lots of love. The characters chemistry was just a match to gasoline and when it lit, was total fire. And through out this story, we were also giving little teases for the future.
5 “I’ll Tame Your Attitude” Stars
I’ve been a devoted fan of the Bishop family since the Bishop Brothers Series first released. This second generation of Bishops featured in the Circle B Ranch Series are as interesting as their parents. After the previous novel introduced me to Maize and Gavin’s back story, I just couldn’t wait to finally read Wrangling the Cowboy. This novel didn’t disappoint and is my new favorite in the series. It had me laughing one moment and swooning in the next instant. I was entranced by this well-matched couple!
After their magical one-night-stand, Maize is determined to ignore the tangible connection she felt toward Gavin and keep denying his advances. She’s incredibly driven in her work as the cook at the B&B and has no place to let her heart open up to some cowboy passing through town. She’s just so sassy and the banter with Gavin is delicious to witness. As much as she wants to keep rejecting him, there’s just this undeniable link between them and she feels drawn to his undeniable appeal.
Gavin is a fine mix of charming, alluring and so virile. He’s in his mid-thirties and tired of playing the field. He’s determined to prove to Maize that their one night together was something special. I adored how he doesn’t abandon his courtship despite all his failures at getting the girl of his dreams. He knows what he wants and what they could be together.
Their story is truly so romantic and progresses over the span of a year, so you can say it’s slow burn and captivating. Every moments between them had me hooked and gave me the sweetest sensations. I couldn’t wait for Maize to admit her defeat and give in to her man! As much as the romance is swoon-worthy, they’re also very passionate and combustible!
All the scenes between Maize and her cousins are truly hilarious and so entertaining. Same thing with the guys teasing each others. As it’s always the case, the Bishops are united and prove once again why they’re one of my absolute favorite fictional family.
Wrangling the Cowboy is exactly the kind of book I expected for this couple. I loved every moments of this read that also gave me more reasons to be excited about the upcoming books in the series. Elle and Kenzie’s stories promise to be wonderful too.

Holy SMOKES! Okay, I have been dying to get my hands on Maize’s story for some time now and let me tell you, Fox did not disappoint with this one. What we get is a push and pull story and a complete battle of wits between Gavin and Maize. I laughed at the antics and their push and pull. I swooned at how much Gavin really cared for Maize. I wanted to yell at Maize for being so stubborn when it came to Gavin. Honestly, I fell in love with these two even with the reservations of the age difference. They complimented each other so well that you just want to fan yourself at every sizzling moment.
Maize is gun shy and I understand that completely but there are times you just want to smack her and say TAKE A CHANCE! I love that Gavin threw the ball in her court too after fighting for her so much. It gave so much depth to these two and how much they cared for each other in the long run. With a crash course on the Bishop family, Gavin fit right in as well. I loved having all the past characters in play as it gave this book such a warm feeling and you just want to cozy right in with them.
Overall, I think this one is my favorite of the series. I mean, I ADORE Diesel, but there was just something about Gavin and the way he would sweet talk and make you melt like putty in his hand. Maize and Gavin are a perfect match, even if they both have to work for it!
Wrangling the Cowboy is the third book in Kennedy Fox’s Circle B Ranch Series but can be read as standalone. This story follows Maize, daughter of John and Mila (from Chasing Him). I can’t get enough of the Bishop family. They are protective and loving and also hilarious, fun and hard working. Maize cooks and bakes for the family’s bed and breakfast. She has been burned by love in the past so she is not interested in anything long term. She has a one night stand with a sexy cowboy, Gavin whom is new in town but he leaves town never expecting him to return. All that changes when a few months later he is back and working on the Bishop Ranch. Gavin is an ex-bull rider and has just retired from the rodeo circuit. He is looking to settle down. He is gorgeous inside and out and a total sweetheart. He is pure cowboy and has all the charm you would expect from a Southern Gentlemen. There were moments when Maize completely frustrated me with her stubbornness but she is a Bishop after all so I suppose I should have expected it. I just wish she would have given into Gavin a little sooner. She really made him work for her attention and affection. The two had some seriously intense chemistry though! It is addicting and steamy. I say it during every KF review but it bares repeating this series is one of my all times favourites and this author duo does not disappoint with writing a combination of a steamy, sexy and swoon-worthy story. If you love a little bit of angst, small towns and sexy cowboys you NEED to pick this one up.
Maize cannot believe her former one night stand is now in her hometown. The last thing she wants is a relationship, but the man is intent on more time with her. Chasing is his thing, and running is her thing. Will they ever meet in the middle? In bed…Or is Maize running scared, too scared to give into what they both want?
Oh boy…these two were frustrating! Or should I say, Maize was frustrating! She just could not get out of her own head long enough to take a look around and see what she had right under her nose – an amazing man dead set on her. Sigh…thank God for her circle, who put some sense into her thick skull! I loved Gavin, though, and the story itself is fun, sexy, and entertaining. This Circle B Ranch series just keeps getting better and better.
Did you ever start a book and in the second chapter you find yourself YELLING at the characters ?? Well this is one of those books and it is SO, SO GOOD !!
When Gavin Fox comes to town for a job interview he feels at home in the small town right away and when he steps into the Circle B Saloon he knows he is HOME !! It also doesn’t help that he sees and hears the little spit fire .. Maize Bishop saying she is becoming a NUN !! A little extreme but at 25 and still living with her parents isn’t something Maize thought she still would be doing at this point in her life. With a budding career as the head Chef at the B&B, she thought by this time she would have here career, a husband and children BUT NOooooo not in this little town with no single men except the ones that work on her families ranch which she has sworn OFF, NO DATING RANCH EMPLOYEES .. EVER !! Not when you had your heart broken and didn’t think you would survive .. until she sees HIM !!
Not know who he is, what he does or where he belongs .. Maize feels and sees something in Gavin that first night BUT when she finds out who he is .. BAHMMMM she avoids him like the plague and pretends she doesn’t know him until that little green thing called jealousy kick’s in !!
Can Gavin in his old wisdom show Maize that he is the only one for her and that he isn’t going anywhere or will GOSSIP in this family and small town have her running for the hills ??
I SCREAM .. Go get him and show him he is it before he gets away !!
I LOVE THE BISHOPS !! Can’t wait for more !!
Talk about sparks and chemistry. Maize and Gavin are hot for each other after a one night stand but she doesn’t want to get burned by a guy again so she acts as if it never happened when he starts working at her family’s ranch. These two are amazing together but Maize has to get over the fact that he works on the ranch and stop getting in her own way when it comes to happiness.
Rate: +5/ 5 stars
You spend months waiting for a book and then devour it in a few hours… anyone else? Gosh, I swear I picked up this book and I COULD NOT stop reading! I say this every single time a new book releases but damn I love spending time at the Circle B Ranch so freaking much!!! This family and their significant others own me.
Gavin and Maize were so fun, I was laughing my butt off since the first chapter. It was seriously such a joy to read. I loved the settings, their little moments, the sibling relationship between Maize and Kenzie, and also the friendships between the cousins. And Gavin and Maize? Sweet lord! Their chemistry was hawTT omg, I hadn’t been expecting all that sexiness from these two so I was very pleasantly surprised there.
What was also such an amazing surprise was Gavin. Oh man, he was something else! I love that he knew from the first moment that he and Maize had something special, no matter how much she pretended they didn’t. No matter how Maize acted towards him, he never gave up on pursuing her and making her walls crumble. Gosh, I loved that so much. And when she finally opened her eyes to what she might be letting walk away, I love that he made her work for a second chance. That is so unusual to see in books and I enjoyed it so so much. It was superrr fun. I just seriously loved these two. I think so far they were my favorite couple in the series. There was just something about them and their journey that just did it for me – it was funny, sweet, so hot, and just such a good time.
As with every book these ladies give us so much of the other characters and I finally got tons of my favorite Bishop Brother, Jackson! Gah, I was so happy to see so much of him. He’s always such fun and I missed him so much. And of course, we can’t forget the teases at future books. We got so many hints at the next two books and gah I am already sooo excited for both. I am positively dying to know what Grayson did to make Kenzie hate him so much. Dying! And to learn Connor’s story, I think it’s gonna be very interesting, a possible love triangle with Doctor Stephen, his ex-bff? Hmm, I’m feeling it and I’m ready!
This was the first book by Kennedy Fox that I’ve read and from the first chapter, I could tell it was a book I was going to enjoy. You know when a style of writing just gets you from the very start and you can just feel that you’re going to love the journey the book will take you on?
That is totally what happened to me with this book!
Gavin’s a retired bull rider who stops off at the Circle B bar for the night where he meets Maize, a twenty-five year old with a dream of starting a catering company and meeting a great guy. After a one night stand, Gavin gets a job on the ranch that Maize’s family owns, yet she wants to forget it ever happened.
This book was full of angst and was a slow burn, but the pay-off was entirely worth it. This book had steam – and heart – and I thoroughly enjoyed it. And there’s just something about a cowboy isn’t there?! Phwoar!
I will definitely be reading another book by Kennedy Fox in the future!
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
The push and pull of this relationship grabbed me and didn’t let go until the very last page! Wrangling the Cowboy by Kennedy Fox is the story of Gavin and Maize. Their chemistry is off the charts hot and I loved this sexy and steamy story. Gavin is a man who will fight for what he wants and Maize is going to give him a run for his money. This small town romance gives you all the feels and will have you packing up and moving to Circle B Ranch! I cannot wait for more books in the series!
Save a horse ride a cowboy!
I never thought I’d be a girl who was into cowboys, but then Kennedy Fox gave us some sexy cowboys, and I’ve been singing a different tune ever since! I fell in love with the Bishops in Courtney & Drew’s duet and with each book my love for all things Circle B Ranch grows. Wrangling The Cowboy is another fabulous installment in the Circle B Ranch series.
It can totally be read as a stand alone, but c’mon if you know me at all you know I love reading all the books and learning everything I can about all the characters, so obviously I say read all the books!
In Wrangling The Cowboy, it’s Mazie’s turn to find love. Maize is John and Mila’s daughter, works as the chef at the B&B and has sworn off any and all cowboys who work on her family’s ranch. Gavin is a former bull rider who now works at the ranch as a horse trainer.
The two met at a bar before he started working on the ranch, and once Maize finds out, she conveniently forgets their night together.
I loved how Gavin fights for her from the very beginning. The tension between them was intense, but it was perfectly balanced with witty banter. Their story was perfect. It was sweet, steamy, and the chemistry between them burned right off the pages.
From start to finish, this book was nothing but fabulous! I love revisiting Circle B Ranch, and seeing couples from previous Kennedy Fox books. The Bishop family dynamic is one I adore, and I’ve been so excited to see the next generation of Bishops find love. I can’t wait for more!
Wrangling the Cowboy is the first book I’ve read in the Circle B Ranch series but it can be read as a stand alone. I can’t wait to catch up on the other 2 books- the Bishops are such an interesting & fun family.
Wrangling the Cowboy has all the amazing feels of a great romantic story- the chase, sexy time, awesome characters, & a interesting location. I loved watching Maize & Gavin fall in love & get their hard won HEA.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Oh, Maize and Gavin were on fire in this book. I love going back to the Circle B ranch because the characters are all fun. The authors have a way of making the characters relatable. In this case, I wouldn’t mind wrangling me some Gavin. The chemistry between him and Maize was out of this world and I found it fun that she would be trying to avoid him. It was a great read!
