Bull riding is all Gavin’s known for years, but when it’s time to retire, he can’t let go of the reckless lifestyle. He finds a job that brings him to a small-town Texas ranch and face-to-face with the woman who snuck out after their one-night stand. She can pretend she’s over him, but he’s not letting her go that easily.Maize Bishop spends her days cooking and baking for her family’s bed and … for her family’s bed and breakfast. The last thing she has time for is a relationship, especially when there are no single men within a hundred-mile radius. When a mysterious newcomer flirts with her over drinks, she gives in to his mesmerizing green eyes and goes home with him.
Now that he works for her family’s ranch, she’ll avoid him at all costs.
There are only so many places to hide, and keeping her distance is easier said than done. After months of giving her space, Gavin’s tired of waiting for Maize to admit what he knows they both want—a second round between the sheets. It may only take eight seconds to win a championship, but he’ll prove to her that he can go all night long.
She’s too young, he’s too arrogant, and together, they’re electric—the perfect recipe for disaster.
**Wrangling the Cowboy is a complete standalone and can be read without reading any of the other books or series, but if you prefer to read in order, start with Hitching the Cowboy as the characters and families do interconnect.**

I loved it, simple as that. The Kennedy Fox writing duo hits it out of the park with every book, but especially the Circle B Ranch books.
The world building is dreamy, the characters are flawed and lovable, the tension between the couples is steamy. The only thing I can ask for is longer stories!
Ever since Maize was introduced in John and Mila’s book I’ve wondered how her story was going to turn out. We’ve caught glimpses of Maize through other books and her role as chef at the Circle B Bed & Breakfast, so I’m thrilled we finally got her story!
Gavin Fox is the new man on the Bishop ranch. He was hired by Jackson Bishop to help out with the horse training. Gavin and Maize are a pair with so much tension, you don’t want to wait to dive into this story!
The Story of Maize and Gavin keeps you wanting more. Their chemistry is off the charts this book wraps you up and keeps you wanting more.
Gavin is a former Bull rider who has left the rodeo circuit who runs into Maize in a small town bar. I love this story Gavin and Maize have this spark that gets you hooked from the start. This book takes you on a ride. Mazie a bit stubborn headstrong and independent woman. Gavin with his swoon worthy lovable guy. He is charming and a gentleman. He is an employee at Circle B ranch who trains the horses.
The chemistry is so hot between these two and there is a push and pull between them that makes it so much more. This book gives you all the feels and is a must read Kennedy Fox never disappoints. I can’t wait for more from them.
Gavin and Maize had a fun love story. I really enjoyed the chase between them, it was great entertainment at times. I loved being on the Bishop farm again, and seeing everyone in the book made for great reunions at times. There is a bit of an age gap between the two, and I think Kennedy Fox did a great job with it, pointing it out when needed, and using it when needed at other times, but not always throwing it in our face. As always the heat factor is “Don’t burn yourself” Hot. I think each book in this series is just getting better and better, and I love them all.
I received an ARC in return for my honest review.
Omg I loved everything about this book and listening to Lia Langola and Stephen Dexter took it to another level !!!!!
Wrangling the Cowboy is book 3 in the Circle B Ranch Series, featuring the second generations of Bishop’s and this is Maize Bishop and Gavin Fox’s story.
Gavin is starting a new life on the Circle B Ranch and the last person he expects to meet is the woman he had a night of fun with before she vanished on him. Maize may have walked out in the middle of the night thinking she would never see this man again but she can’t walk away from her duties as chef on the family ranch so now she needs to put on her big girl panties and deal with seeing this man on a daily basis.
Sizzling chemistry and witty banter all add to this entertaining read, I was captivated from the first page and there was no putting down until I had read the final line because I needed to know if this couple who at times frustrated the life out of me actually got the happiness they both deserved.
I fell hard and fast for Gavin and I adored Maize so all that’s left for me to say is I highly recommend you one click this gem of a read, you won’t be disappointed.
I received a copy of Wrangling the Cowboy in exchange of an honest review. Thank you so much for this opportunity.
Wrangling the Cowboy is the third book in the Circle B Ranch series but can be read without reading any of the other books, since it is a standalone. The book focuses on Gavin and Maize’s story, whom you might know as Chasing Him John and Milas daughter.
First of all, I really enjoyed reading Wrangling the Cowboy. Although I don’t really like age – gaps, I had no problems reading their story because Maize is a very mature woman and Gavin also know what he wants, so in my opinion, they are an excellent match.
Both captured my heart at the very second and because of all the humorous and sweet conversations they made me smile and laugh the whole book.
But the book not only focuses on their story, but also included Maize’s family, whom you may know from Kennedy Fox’ previous books and it was a nice change to read about them and to get to know them.
4 Star Wrangling The Cowboy (Circle B Ranch #3) by Kennedy Fox
AUDIO REVIEW:
This was an entertaining read that had me invested from the first to the last chapter. I really liked Gavin and Maize, in fact I like the whole Bishop family . Gavin has led a hard life as a Bull rider and now faced with retirement he takes a job on the Circle B Ranch.
Fate works in mysterious ways and he is shocked, but not unhappy to meet up with Maize again, after all she left him after a night of passion. Gavin is determined to show Maize that they could be good together, even though she is equally determined to avoid him.
I really liked these two together, the push and pull of their relationship made for interesting reading. The chemistry between them is intense, the banter at times witty and the secondary characters were as entertaining as the main.
Narrated by Lia Langola and Stephen Dexter, their performances were enjoyable, their voices easy to listen to and they really brought the characters to life for me.
Audiobook Review:
Gavin oh Gavin oh Gavin. I was a big fan of his in this story. I have definitely come to realize that Kennedy Fox sure knows how to write an amazing leading man. He was almost impossible to not love. Maize on the other hand took a little time for me to warm up to her. Despite knowing that she had her reasons for wanting to keep Gavin at arm’s length, I felt she was a bit too mean at times. I didn’t think he deserved her anger but she kept dishing it out. By the end though she had grown on me a bit and redeemed herself of course and I was happy for them both to get the ending they did. And even with all that being said I really enjoyed this book overall. It was well written and got me invested in the characters both the ones currently holding the main character role and those who I loved in previous books of the series. I’m looking forward to what’s to come in this series and from this author duo.
Both narrators were fantastic. I loved the accents. The emotions, Just all of it. They really enhanced the story for me with their performances.
Maize and Gavin meet one night while Maize is hanging out her family’s bar. Gavin is just passing through. They have a connection and decide to go back to his place. They have a fun night but before he can wake up and things get awkward, Maize sneaks out thinking she will never see him again. Boy is she in for a shock when she finds out that he is the new horse trainer at her family’s ranch. Because of her strict no shitting where you eat policy she doesn’t date anyone that works on the ranch. So her brilliant idea is to pretend that she doesn’t know Gavin and treats him as enemy number one.
I am not going to lie, I really struggled to understand Maize and her actions. Her denial and stubbornness dragged on for way too long. I am still not sure what happened to make her change her mind. It felt like whiplash. BUT Gavin is amazing and down right swoony. I loved him so much. I loved how he pushed her buttons and never gave up. I especially loved how he turned the tables and made her work. Pure perfection. This was a cute and fun read. Despite my issues with Maize, I really enjoyed it and would recommend it.
Are you looking for a steamy romance book that involves cowboys, a stubborn woman, undeniable chemistry and a happy ending? Look no further than literally anything written by Kennedy Fox.
This is the 3rd book in the Circle B Ranch Series. Gavin is a retired rodeo star who has come to the small town of Eldorado, Texas for a quieter life. Before he starts his job at Circle B Ranch, he stops at the bar in town. That is where he meets Maize Bishop. Maize is fed up with the dating field in the small town and starts to go on about how she’s going to end up a nun. They end up chatting and have one of the hottest one night stands I’ve ever read. But Maize sneaks out before morning leaving Gavin confused.
Fast forward a couple weeks, the two meet again on the ranch. Maize pretends not to know him and the chase begins. Their banter and Gavin’s unwillingness to give up on Maize are the things I loved the most. Gavin is older than Maize by about 10 years older and I love an age gap romance. And they are sizzling hot together. I have read all the Bishop Brothers and Circle B Ranch books and they are by far my favorite couple.
I was given a code to listen to the audiobook version of this story. I could seriously listen to Stephen Dexter all day. He has the perfect cowboy voice. Lia Langola always blows me away with her performances. I always enjoy reading/listening to anything by Kennedy Fox. A steamy Cowboy romance is not a bad way to spend the evening.
I adore the Circle B Ranch books and Wrangling the Cowboy is no different. Gavin and Maize were a great couple. Gavin an ex pro bull riding champ, at 35 wants to settle down and do what he loves training horses and Maize a chef on her family’s ranch seeing all her cousins falling in love at 25 is wondering if it will ever happen for her. I found this book lighter on the angst for Kennedy Fox but it was full of heart and I adore the small town feels to the ranch setting. Stephen Dexter is fast becoming a favourite narrator after listening to this series, he does such a good job of capturing that southern gentleman vibe and that’s exactly what Gavin is.
After one heck of a night together months go by before they meet again when Gavin accepts a job at Circle B Ranch but what I didn’t expect was for Maize to act as if she doesn’t remember him at all. Gavin clicks onto her games and keeps pushing and chasing her until she finally admits she really does remember the night they shared. The chemistry is great and the back and forth was entertaining. I loved that Gavin made her work for it once she finally began to open up to the idea they just might work. Another great addition to the series, add in the extra little interwoven storylines for potential couples to come and I can’t wait for more.
Wrangling the Cowboy is the 3rd book in the Bishop Circle B Ranch series and focuses on Maize and Gavin. There is an age gap between the two, although they are both at the point in their lives where they want to settle down and start a family. After a successful career riding bulls, Gavin wants to slow down and find someone to settle down with. After a hot night with Maize, Gavin is enamored and is only even more excited to see her at the Bishop ranch, where he’s now employed. But Maize pretends not to know him because of her own negative past experiences with a cowboy, and the push and pull between the two builds a lot of sexual tension throughout the book.
I love how persistent Gavin is and how he reassures Maize of their relationship. Maybe it’s because he’s 10 years older, but his patience, and his care and tenacity at pursuing Maize speaks to his confidence at knowing who he wants and his true feelings for Maize. Maize tries to avoid Gavin at the ranch, but in the end, she can’t resist him!
I listened to the audio of this with Stephen Dexter and Lia Langola, and they did a great job as always. Stephen Dexter’s accent, his confidence in portraying Gavin totally made this thoroughly enjoyable listen.
3.5 Stars
Story – 2.5 Stars
Gavin and Maize’s small-town romance was frustrating. Maize’s childish games in pushing Gavin way was getting annoying and tiresome. If I were Gavin, I would have moved on a long time ago with all the wishy-washy treatments. However, their sexy time together were definitely passionate and scorching hot. I just want to hit Maize on her head and shout at her to grow up and talk like adults.
Audio – 4 Stars
Stephen Dexter did a superb job especially the dirty talks. Lia Langola’s Texas drawl was great. The two of them together brought so much entertainment.
I volunteered to provide an honest review of a complimentary audio copy of this book.
*Audio review*
Gavin is an ex rodeo rider who now has a job on the same farm that his one night stands family owns.
Maize does not have the time for a relationship, her life is too busy, cooking and baking for the family’s bed and breakfast. So she is doing everything she can to avoid Gavin. But there is so only so many places you can hide, lol
This series is so freaking good, it is something I listen to when i’m in the mood for a laughing out loud romance that you get sucked in from the start to finish. And Gavin and Maize was so fun to read. Their chemistry was totally off the charts hot. I want to be adopted by this family, lol.
And man the narration just made it even more awesome for me. I am loving Stephen Dexter’s voice It took me a minute to get use to Lia Longola’s voice but I don’t think I can picture any other two narrators reading this series
So I enjoyed this book but I had to give it three stars because for the first half of it I thought that Maize was just being a little brat. Like she pretended much too long that she didn’t remember Gavin and then she kept stringing him along. It honestly got really annoying. She kept saying in the book how she was grown up and an adult yet she was acting like a child. I’m surprised Gavin stayed interested as long as he did. Now the second part of the book where she actually grew up was really good. I enjoyed the back and forth of the characters and their HEA. In the whole book, I enjoyed the time-lapses so we can “see” how things are progressing and that this isn’t just a one-week insta-love romance. Overall I enjoy the Bishop books and I think this should be read before the next one. Also, the authors pick THE BEST cover models.
This is the third book in the Circle B Ranch Series, a Cowboy romance. I love this series. Gavin and Maisy’s age-gap romance is sweet. Gavin is a sexy and handsome cowboy! Maisy is independent, and stubborn. They have a push and pull relationship. The supporting characters are great. I love the family bonds in this series. This is a good addition to the series. Lia Langola and Stephen Dexter did a great job with the narration.
Love a good old chase story. These two are running circles around each other and yet the fire can’t be put out. Fun story and enjoy being back at the ranch.
Narrator makes it good fun.
By far my favorite of the Circle B Ranch series so far. Now my tune can change when the other books come out. However Gavin Fox and Mazie Bishop are my favorite couple. The playful banter between Gavin and Mazie is so much fun.
Mazie bails after a one night stand with Gavin, turns out he is a new ranch hand on the Bishop farm and that makes it nearly impossible for her to avoid him. Gavin falls hard for Mazie and is looking to settle down now that his rodeo days are done. Mazie has been burned before by another ranch hand she dated so she is trying to stay clear of Gavin, but he has other plans.
Cowboys are my weakness
Loved this. Maize and Gavin were great together- loved their chemistry. I’m not a fan of age-gap romances but this one didn’t seem to bother me. The story was low angst and filled with laughs. Listened to it in one sitting. Narration was fabulous – Stephen Dexter as an ex-bull riding cowboy, yes, please. Lia Langola – an amazing narrator – they make a great pair.
The time has come for Gavin to leave his rodeo career and the lifestyle that goes along with it in the past. He has come to town to pursue an opportunity at the Bishop ranch, but Maize was a surprise he wasn’t expecting.
Maize isn’t looking for love or a relationship especially with a cowboy. When she meets Gavin the sparks fly into a night neither of them will ever forget however she had no intention of ever seeing him again so finding out he is now working on the family ranch was a revelation she could have done without. Maize was determined that one night was all they had but Gavin was just as determined that one night was not enough. Let the battle begin!
The perseverance that Gavin showed as he tried to prove to Maize that he wasn’t only there for a good time but a long time was inspiring to watch and although she was reluctant fighting the chemistry and feelings between them was a fight she wasn’t going to win. The narrators were a perfect choice for the characters as they brought out the heat and humor of the story.
I am ADDICTED to this series!
Maize has been one of my favorite characters since the beginning and I was so excited to get to read her and Gavin’s story! Normally I am not a big fan of the off and on/hot and cold tropes, but I think this one was done well.
Gavin is a former bull rider and Maize is the head chef at the B&B on the ranch. (side note: All this food talk, had me so hungry!!!) They have a one night encounter early on and Gavin is hooked from them on. Maize is a little more cautious and tries to run because of her past. Both these characters were swoon-worthy and had such chemistry together!
The steam, banter and humor in this book were top notch. I think this one was my favorite so far in the series. I am looking forward to Elizabeth’s story, as well as Kenzie’s!
