Veterinarian Hunter Beckett just got roped into his nightmare: a bachelor auction to raise funds for a local charity. While he’s a hottie, most in town see him as a curmudgeon, a man who manages to be cranky, even after he’s saved your dog’s life. But when women start bidding on him like crazy—one aggressive hairdresser in particular—Hunter’s in need of a savior and finds it in the form of Kit, … Kit, his veterinary resident. It’s a mercy purchase, but one that puts him in a bind: Kit wants something in return.
Kit Cowie’s come all the way out to the boonies because of her love of large animal medicine, and because Hunter needs a new resident—badly. But now that she’s got the job, she finds that Hunter is only holding her back, making her give shots to puppies while he’s off doing what she’d really love: fixing broken bones and saving horses’ lives. Now that she’s rescued him from the auction, Kit hopes she can leverage this to get more access in the office. What she didn’t expect is for Hunter to follow the rules of the bachelor auction—or for their date go so wonderfully right, ending with a sizzling kiss.
But Hunter is sure that the kiss was a mistake and believes they should keep things professional between them. However, the more time he spends with Kit, the more his emotions beg him to see this relationship to passionate fruition, even though he knows Kit is only here for a rotation until her position at her own family’s vet clinic goes into effect and she’s gone forever.
As the two get more involved, they face the real possibility that their growing love could lay waste to their reputations or become something far more precious.

After Bran’s story is described, the middle brother is now put in the lead and his way to finding love.
As a veterinarian he has little time for other things. In addition, he is always looking to unite his younger and older brother who have grown apart after the death of their parents. To be able to keep his papers as a veterinarian, he has to create an internship and Kit comes to that.
After obtaining her papers, Kit will take over the practice in the city that her father built up as a veterinarian. There she will only take care of small animals. But her heart is with large animals; cows, horses, pigs, etc.
There is a romance growing up between Hunter and Kit but both know that this will not last longer than the internship ….. but they both want more!
I thought this was a wonderful novel to read. The structure of the story is put down well and it is nice to have the story of Ava and Bran on the sidelines after the first part.

Hunter is a cranky vet, but he’s the glue.
Hunter is the middle Beckett brother. A vet, he doesn’t date, too busy and also keeping his brother’s together. He’s forced to take on Kit Cowie, a vet doing her residency for three months.
He likes her. But he is hindering her knowledge of large animals, he’s keeping her at arms length because he’s tempted.
Kit is great and she bids on him at a bachelor auction for the library. She did him a solid. And it all started with a kiss.
I really liked Hunter and Kit.
Hunter is my favorite Beckett brother.
Recommend.

This was another awesome book by Leslie North the 2nd in the series. I loved that it centered around a sexy cowboy veterinarian and his resident assistant. Bachelor, teacher\student relationship, attraction, and family obligations kept the story with many twists and turns. Loved seeing Hunter and Kit together with their hot and steamy characters. This is a well written steamy romance with a little humor thrown in with a awesome ending! A definite must read! I cant wait to read the next in the series.

Kit is in vet school and takes a internship with Hunter in Gopher Springs and when she saves him by bidding on him a the community bachelor auction that is all it took for them to see each other in a different light. They share a kiss while on their auction date but they know it’s against the rules and they really try to stop but the attraction is too strong to deny. What will they do when she leaves to go back home to take over her fathers vet office?

I thought that this book was hot, fun and a bit sweet. Kit and Hunter were great characters. I enjoyed their chemistry and the back and forth/push and pull of their attraction and emotions. There is drama and tension as these two struggle to figure out their feelings. A very entertaining romance and great addition to this series.
This is such a wonderful story. It’s insanely relatable, and the characters feel like your friends that you want the best for.

Hunter is the second Beckett brother who is a veterinarian that thinks he doesn’t have time for women and romance. He is to busy with his Vet clinic and keeping an eye on his brothers. Kit wants her certification with large animals before taking over her fathers Vet clinic.. Hunter is required to supervise residents for three months and Kit becomes his first resident. Sparks fly from the beginning. They decide to do a boss with benefits and when her three months are up they will go their own way. Huh! Good chemistry here. HEA

I really enjoyed this book. I loved the characters. Hunter was a vet who felt he didn’t have time for a relationship. Things changed when his new resident Kit walked into his clinic. I instantly connected with these characters and their drive to take care of their families made me love them more!

This is the second Beckett Brothers book and it is an entertaining and enjoyable read. I really enjoyed reading about Hunter and Kit. Hunter is a large animal veterinarian that ends up as a ‘Date’ for someone to purchase to raise money for the local charity. Kit is a determined to be a large animal vet and comes all the way to ‘No Where’ in order to be a resident. These two characters are sizzling together and their after ‘date’ kiss proves it. It makes for a fun read to see how these two stubborn characters will attempt to continue to plow through with the day to day business when we know that both of them have so much more running through their minds. What starts out to be a ‘mercy purchase’ becomes the beginning to a really good story and a HEA!

Book 2 of Series is Delicious.
I love Storylines with animals/pets in them. When this story centered around a Vet, Hunter and his resident, Kit, I knew I was in for a treat. And I wasn’t disappointed. It was a delicious story, well written in that it flowed nicely from chapter to chapter and held my interest all the way throughout. The characters were well developed and included people from book one which brought continuity. I even felt Ava’s personality (from book one) continued to develop after she married Bran (brother of Hunter).
This is Book two and just as good as Book one so I’m definitely recommending it for your reading pleasure and enjoyment. Peace.

Great story,very entertaining.
Grumpy vet and his assistant. She wants to do more in the clinic, she loves her job. Not that he is willing to give up.
So Kit, come to the some crazy plan. She “bought” him on charity auction to save his sorry behind in exchange for more access to practice.
Or maybe she got something else?

Hunter is so sweet and so responsible. As mentor to Kit, his veteranian resident, he must keep it professional no matter how much he wants her. Kit knows her time with Hunter is temporary and forbidden as his student but, a girl can dream. Their time together taking care of the small town’s big animals and more Hunter and Kit find their attraction to magnetic to ignore. This is a really good and sincere romance about people finding out what really makes them happy not what other people say will make them happy. I highly recommend this book.

This is a great series! I love the way that Hunter and Kit try to stay professional even though their hearts get in the way! I can’t wait to see what happens in Scout’s story!

I loved Kit and Hunter’s story. I love that the story wasn’t dragged for too long but that it also developed organically. You could picture Hunter and Kit while they navigated through their working relationship and their romantic one. It was so great also getting glimpse of Bran and Ava and Cam and seeing the whole family as well. Can’t wait for Scout’s story!

I am completely to falling for all these Beckett brothers. Hunter’s a dedicated veterinarian who takes his role as peacemaker between his oldest and youngest brothers seriously. Kit’s weighed down under family obligations and this residency is her last chance to do something with her career for herself. I loved watching this pair together. They brought out the best and worst in each other as they realized that they wanted more from their lives. The push/pull of their desires versus their obligations made for some compelling reading. And after the super sweet epilogue, I can’t wait to read about the last single brother standing.

The second book in the series brings Liz and Hunter’s story. The author does a great job developing the story and kept me turning the pages with the steamy romance and story line. She brings tons of emotions along with a few twists and turns and delivers an entertaining story that had me hooked from start to finish. I loved this book / series.

Hunter gets roped into going up for bachelor auction for charity. Kit sees the woman who have been bidding on him. She knew she would have to save him from the women in town so she outbid everyone. Kit was his sister-in-laws sister and his intern. His brother Brandon was having a good laugh at his expense. Kit father called and he tells her if she could come home sooner. Kit told him that she still had to do her residency. Hunter was giving Kit the smaller animals so she told him she was ready for the larger animals. Kit was having a hard time trying not to think about Brandon. Kit really wants to work on large animals even though the clinic is for small animals. Kit and Hunter are somewhat an item. But, in the back of their minds they knew their time together was limited to her residency. Hunter overheard a conversation when Kit was talking to her mother. Kit left the next day and she was someone hurt he didn’t chase over to her. Will Hunter just move on with his practice? Will Kit go back to Hunter or stay at her practice. interesting read
