Scout Beckett has always wanted to run a ranch, not just work it under the purview of his older sibling. He wants to do something different from his family’s horses and beef cattle: he wants to own a dairy farm. To this end, Scout has been working on one as a foreman, and his mentor had always promised it would be Scout’s after he passed. But when the owner dies, he wills it to his city-slicker … city-slicker granddaughter instead; leaving Scout in charge of a farm that will never be his.
Stella has worked for a nonprofit for years, helping to feed starving children in third-world countries. When she comes home for the funeral to say goodbye to her grandfather, the only stability she’s ever known, she finds herself falling into the arms of sexy cowboy Scout when shared loss and simple comfort turns to a night of passion before they each go their separate ways.
But three months later, Stella returns to the ranch, faced with the stipulations of her grandfather’s will: she must stay for the better part of the year, or lose the ranch to charity. Not only that, but she has to tell her one-night stand that he’s going to be a daddy. When the shock of her pregnancy wears off, Stella vows to ride out the will’s rule and get back to her old life as soon as possible.
But as Stella slowly remembers why she’s always loved the place she’s come back to, Scout has to decide if he’s okay with never owning the land he works. Is having a family enough? Or will he pass on love and passion for a farm of his own?

The third in the Beckett brothers trilogy. Scout didn’t want to follow his brothers. As the youngest, he always felt he was lacking. He wanted to have his own ranch and raise dairy cattle. He had worked for George Steadman for years and thought the ranch would be his when George died, but then he learns that instead George’s granddaughter Stella will inherit it. Stella has been working in underdeveloped countries, trying to make a difference and she is good at what she does. She has agreed to sell the ranch to Scout when the stipulations of the will are met. But one night as they comfort themselves after the funeral causes complications. She has to return to her job to finish up a contract and just makes it back to the ranch in time to keep from having donated to charity. Scout is happy until he learns the news she has. They are going to be parents. Stella’s childhood has taught her that she can depend on no one but herself. George was the one thing that was steady in her life. Scout wants to be part of the baby’s life. Stella plans to return to her traveling life after the baby. Now can Scout and Stella work out a way to care for their child and still have their dreams?

Scout is the Beckett Brother whose story I’ve been looking forward to the most. There’s just something about the misfit loner brother that drew me to him. And as we got to know him, the Scout that’s more than just what his brothers see, I better understand why I think he’s my favorite Beckett. Stella made it really challenging for me to like her. I understand why she’s so fiercely independent, but it felt a little over the top at times. I loved seeing the way the whole Beckett clan pulls together around this pair to help them see their way through all their difficulties, and the closing scene is so sweet. I’m kind of sorry to see this series come to an end. I really enjoyed reading about them and I’m sad to say “goodbye” to the Beckett Brothers

She is grieving the loss of her Grandfather. He is grieving the loss of his boss and mentor. She is independent, never relying on anyone but herself. Her Mom was of no support to her ever. He is the youngest brother looking to make a mark for himself but comes from a loving family. One night together brings unexpected results and her grandfather’s will stipulates that she must live on the ranch, the ranch Scout Beckett was planning on buying from Stella at the end of the 9 months. When Scout finds out he is going to be a dad, things change. Will these two find love or will stubbornness and independence tear them apart. This is book 3 of the Beckett Brothers and each is stand alone but you will want to read all 3.

Scout has been working at this Dairy farm for George hoping one day to have his own dairy. Stella, Georges granddaughter Stella was left the farm. Scout thought that maybe he would leave it to him. Scout told Stella that he would buy her out. They spend the night together she was leaving to go out of the country but would be back in a couple of months. Meanwhile Stella comes back to the states and back to the ranch. Scout was happy to see her plus they could talk. Stella has a little surprise for Scout that she needed to talk to him about. Kit and Ava go over to meet Stella over the course of the afternoon she realized that she had a family here. Stella tells Scout how to irrigate the back pasture she told him she learned all that while away. She asked him if he could get the guys together really fast. He told her she was the foreman on the work Stella was thrilled. Things were said and then Scout quit the farm. Will Scout come back to Stella and try to convince her to stay? Will she finally sell him the farm?
Another great book to the series brings Scout and Stella’s story. The author does a wonderful job developing the characters and story and pulling you in with all the emotions flowing throughout. There’s a few twists and turns along the way as the couple works through their relationship. She brings a realistic story to life with her detailed scenes and captured me form start to finish. It’s well written and moves quickly and smoothly. I loved reading their story and would recommend this book/series.

I enjoyed this story. It moved quickly and kept my interest. Stella was one independent woman but then she’s had to be. The only time she ever had normal was when she spent time with her grandfather. The rest of the time she was pretty much on her own. Her mother wasn’t much of a nurturer and they moved around a lot. It seems like that lifestyle continued in the job that she has taken on. I’m not downplaying her skill though because she is good at it and loves it!
Scout was a hardworking, charming, honorable guy. But also sometimes as stubborn as the day is long. I liked how he and Stella interacted until he got in his own way. But he had a community of family that was not afraid to get in his face and make him ask questions of himself. He didn’t always appreciate it but it did help save his butt from time to time. And this time with Stella was going to be one of those. I also liked how those same family and friends reached out to Stella and welcomed her.
Things are going to get rocky off and on but there is a H.E.A. so that works for me.

We finally get Scout’s story and it was awesome! As the youngest Beckett son he felt like he needed to prove himself more and with Stella pregnant with his child, even more. But I’m so glad they realized a relationship is all about compromise.
