Ava Pearson needs a job—yesterday. After her husband’s death, her life in the city became impossible, and a crisis with her young son caused her to lose her job as a reporter. Now Ava is living in her childhood home again, without prospects, but not without hope. If she can just get enough money to tide her over while she pitches an article to an even better big-city paper, Ava feels she can get … get back on track. The only problem is…what jobs are available in her one-horse town?
Branson Beckett is successful by most measures of the word. He’s the owner of a profitable ranch on the brink of expansion and is now looking for a few good ranch hands to help him out. However, he wasn’t thinking of his best friend’s little sister when it came to hard labor. No, he’d thought of her in other hard situations, but they usually involved the dark of night and his great big bed. Dreams that had no place in reality.
But Ava is convincing. She needs to get out of her parents’ house, and Branson needs her help interviewing his ranch hands. It’s a win-win. He’ll fix his personnel problem, and she’ll write an article about it.
As personnel issues lead to personal pleasure between them, Ava’s big city dream drifts away, replaced by visions of a family in the country. In the end, Branson will have to face tough truths about himself, his ranch, and his relationship. And if he fails to see the light, he’s going to lose the love of his life.

This was a fast, kind of sweet romance.
Bran didn’t want to hire Ava to work on his ranch. I was never really sure if it was because he was attracted to get and his best friend was her brother; if it was because he didn’t think she was capable of the physical labor; or, if it was because he was so set in his ways and no woman has ever worked as a ranch hand before.
Ava was trying to survive and keep some sense of herself. She was attracted to Bran, but could clearly see where he was putting a wrong foot forward in regard to managing his ranch.
Ultimately getting past his ego allowed Bran and Ava to have their HEA. The book was sweet, romantic, steamy, and a very light quick read.

Another great story by Leslie North. Ava is trying to get her life back together after the loss of her husband and then the loss of her job. She has a son to care for. To get her head back together and recover, she returns to her hometown. But living with her parents isn’t going to be the best thing. And she needs a job. So she convinces Branson, her brother’s best friend, to hire her to work on his ranch. She will write an article to try to get a reporter job in Dallas and try to figure out where money has disappeared to. Bran finds he has feelings for Ava, but she is his best friend’s sister and should be off-limits. He is hard-headed and won’t listen when Ava tries to help him. He knows how to run the ranch and Ava can’t possibly know how to do the job. He is running the ranch the same way his father did. Thank heavens for brothers who can help him by sitting down and talking some sense into his head. Can Bran resolve his issues with his ranch and his hands? Can Bran see that Ava was only trying to help him? Can Ava come up with a plan that doesn’t take her away? Read to see what happens.

A wonderful novel that you quickly read. The story starts immediately. Not first the life story of both and how they meet, but right in the story. During the story you still get enough of the history of both main characters.
A smoothly written story that offers you 2 carefree hours and leaves you with a good feeling

That was a good book with a wonderfully heartfelt ending. Bran was a doofus, Ava should have head slapped him, but got through to him in other ways. Then there was Cam. Who could help but fall for him.
I loved this story and am excited to see what will happen to the other Beckett brothers.
Happy reading!

Leslie North has written a story about pulling youself back up after a lose of a partner and giving yourself a second chance t find happiness. It has a very strong willed female character who is going after what she wants and a very stubborn, set in his way male character.
Ava has moved back to her parents home with her son after the death of her husband and her job. She was a reporter and she needs something to let her get back on he feet so she goes to ask Brnson for a job. Bran is not going for this because she is his best friend’s little sister and work on a ranch is hard. Ava convinces Bran to give her a job and she will help him find some missing money. As they spend more time together their feeling grow for one another. Durning the time Ave is writting her story she hears things and she brings them to Bran’s attention but he will not listen to her and at one point they have a big fight and her ask her to leave. She moves back home to her parents home.
Will Ava get her happy ever after with Bran or will she stay on her course plan of moving to the big D?
Can Bran get his act together and start learning to listen to people and let some of the walls he has in place fall or will he let Ava go?
If you enjoy a complex, intense story with strong willed characters then this is a story for you. I could not put it down once I started reading it.

Ava Pearson, a hard-working independent young woman, lost her job as a reporter due a family crisis out of her control. She moved back to the family home in Texas, but she needs a job and there’s really nothing suitable in the small town environment. Branson Beckett may be the answer to her troubles since his ranch is ready for expansion and he needs to hire ranch hands. Although his best friend’s little sister was not who came to mind for the wrangler job, he could use her help in interviewing the candidates for ranch hand and in helping with a mystery that needs to be investigated. They need each other in more ways than one!
There was definitely chemistry between Ava and Branson, but he’s a stubborn man and may end up losing the most important thing. Can Ava get through to him? Can they both resolve their struggles enough to give a relationship a chance?
This is a good story line with excellent pacing to keep the reader involved. The author’s writing makes it easy for the readers to immerse themselves in the emotions of the characters and experience their struggles first-hand. Grab your copy of this enjoyable book and see if Ava and Branson can find common ground to move ahead together.
Ava returns to her home town after the death of her husband and the lost of her job as an investigative reporter. She has a young son that is having health problems. Living in the country with fresh air hopefully will help. She talks her brothers best friend Branson from high school into a job at his ranch. Ava had a crush on Branson as a teenager. It didn’t take long for Branson to relies Ava wasn’t that cute, spunky kid of ten years ago but a drop-dead gorgeous woman. Ava and Cam moved to Branson’s ranch to get away from her mother. LOL Really good book with HEA as always with Leslie North.

A fun and interesting story of romance between 2 people who each have issues to overcome. The characters feel real as you read through the story and their situations feel real as well. Ava has hit some major bumps in the road of life and is down on her luck. Bran is in dire need of help on his family ranch. Even though they aren’t each other’s first choice for a solution to their problems, they may be each other’s hope for a new future.

Hot cowboy and a sweet romance
Wrangling His Best Friend’s Sister by Leslie North is a well written quick read that is engaging and absolutely sweet with a little bit of heat and full of heart.
To say the alpha cowboy, Bran, is stubborn would be putting it mildly. It takes, Ava, some ranch hands, his younger brother and his best friend to knock some sense into him! Ava is sweet and determined, nobody’s pushover and fueled with inner strength. In a nutshell, she’s perfect for Bran and he’s perfect for her. I really fell for this couple and this book because of Cam. He is absolutely adorable and makes this story better for it.
Overall, a well written book with an engaging plot and captivating characters that get a really great HEA.
