Ava Pearson needs a job—yesterday. After her husband’s death, her life in the city became impossible, and a crisis with her young son caused her to lose her job as a reporter. Now Ava is living in her childhood home again, without prospects, but not without hope. If she can just get enough money to tide her over while she pitches an article to an even better big-city paper, Ava feels she can get … get back on track. The only problem is…what jobs are available in her one-horse town?
Branson Beckett is successful by most measures of the word. He’s the owner of a profitable ranch on the brink of expansion and is now looking for a few good ranch hands to help him out. However, he wasn’t thinking of his best friend’s little sister when it came to hard labor. No, he’d thought of her in other hard situations, but they usually involved the dark of night and his great big bed. Dreams that had no place in reality.
But Ava is convincing. She needs to get out of her parents’ house, and Branson needs her help interviewing his ranch hands. It’s a win-win. He’ll fix his personnel problem, and she’ll write an article about it.
As personnel issues lead to personal pleasure between them, Ava’s big city dream drifts away, replaced by visions of a family in the country. In the end, Branson will have to face tough truths about himself, his ranch, and his relationship. And if he fails to see the light, he’s going to lose the love of his life.

Highly entertaining, action packed and engaging romantic adventure filled with interesting charters, small town goodness and undeniable passion…. was a great read from beginning to end. Really enjoyed the journey these charters took in this fun summer read.
After the loss of her husband and then her job Ava moves back to her hometown with her young son. But living with her parents isn’t ideal so she convinces her brother’s best friend Branson to let her work for him. She will figure out where his money has disappeared to and help save his ranch. In return he will give her a place to stay and a job until she can get a reporter job again. What neither counted on was developing feelings for each other. Soon what started out as a friendly deal turns into somethin so much more. Will Branson admit that he wants something more with Ava? Will Ava end up staying with Branson?
This is a great story once I started it I couldn’t put it down. The chemistry between them is blazing hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

Will Bran ignore the fact that Ava is his best friend’s sister?
Leslie is my #1 author as I just love everything she writes from sheikhs, cowboys, billionaires; you name it, she writes it well! Ava returns home to her parents after her husband’s death and losing her job when her son was ill. Ava has a plan to get Bran, her brother’s friend to give her job on his ranch while she helps him investigate missing funds and write a story about ranch life. But what happens to Bran and Ava’s attraction after Ava finishes her story and goes back to the city for her new job? You have to read to find out and will love the steam coming off these two!
I like a good cowboy in my books and that’s what drew me to this book. Plus it’s a single parent romance which I just love. It’s the first book in the series. I really liked Ava. She’s has such strength for what she has endured. My heart broke for her. Her little boy Cam is a cutie. The scenes with Branson and Cam are precious. Branson, man did I want to shake him a few times through out this book. He needs to get his head on straight if he wants any kind of future. It’s a quick read that was highly enjoyable. It van be read in one sitting for me.
Wrangling His Best Friends Sister by Leslie North. This is Branson and Ava story. Ava is back home and needs job. Branson needs a ranch hand and he needs to find some missing money brings these two togethe Ava had a crush him when she was young and Branson is attracted to her but now she works for him and she is his best friend sister. When he was young he promised not to go there but the more he is around her, the more he knows he can’t keep that promise. This is a heartwarming story with a little bit of mystery. I enjoyed watching them fall in love and to not be able to stay away from each other. My kind of story. Love Leslie North Cowboy stories.

Widowed and looking for a way to get back on her feet, Ava goes to her brother’s best friend for a job. He finally, reluctantly, gives in, but what they get is a whole other level in the end. He’s set in his ways and won’t listen, causing some problems that may keep them from their HEA. This was a short and sweet story that I really enjoyed.

I felt bad for all that had gone wrong in Ava’s life but I loved how she cared for Cam. I am glad that Bran finally gave Ava a chance and let everyone help him see what he missed. I loved the ending.

Okay I’m going to love this series. It is based in Texas with stubborn sexy cowboys. This book is about Branson and Ava; she had to move back home as her husband died in the line of duty as he was a firefighter and now, she is looking for work as she wants to return to live in Dallas as a journalist. Bran has been running his parents ranch after they both died the same year. He is the oldest and is now baffled as he has over 20k missing in the books but can’t figure out what is happening to the money. He is also stubborn and doesn’t adapt well to change. He has known little Ava a long time as she is the little sister to his once close best friend, but as he moved to Houston, he hasn’t seen much but is interested in him to invest in the ranch. Ava is shocked to find herself attracted to Bran since the only man in her life has been her late husband, but as she persuades him to give her a job as a ranch hand and in return she would use her journalist skills to find out what is happening to his money and write a story that can get her a job in Dallas as a journalist. The story kicks off after that and it is too funny as she is determined to get her way even if it means talking back to the BOSS! I love the banter between the two and her little man Cam.

This is the first book in the Beckett Brothers series. Meet Branson Beckett, he is a successful rancher and looking to expand. He is on the look out for a few good ranch hands and was not anticipating his best friend’s sister as one of them. Ava Pearson has her own baggage and due to life, she now needs a job which will hopefully help land her another journalist one or at least bring in some money until she can get another journalist one. Ava’s husband passed away, she left the city with their son and has returned to her childhood home. There has always been an underlying current running between these two but Ava was the forbidden little sister that you just didn’t mess with. Is there a time frame on that? As time passes and Ava and Branson work together, lines are getting blurry and someone is going to cross. Can they make it work? Does Ava really want to return to the city life she left behind? Great story with really good characters.

A ranch can be a wonderful place.
Ava an investigating journalist and a fireman widow returned home to Gopher Springs, Texas. Branson a local rancher and friend to Ava older brother is looking for help on his ranch and Ava wants that job. Branson is not too sure about giving her the job but when she makes an offer Branson takes her on as a ranch hand. There is a bit of mystery, a lot of stubborn pride, and a sweet romance mixed together in this piece. Loved the characters they are written so well. The plot is great and it is a quick read with a good pace to it. This is a book I would highly recommend. I did receive a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.
Wrangling His Best Friend’s Sister (Beckett Brothers Book 1) is the first book in the latest series by the fabulous author,Leslie North, and since I’ve read the whole series now I can honestly say it’s one of her best yet. Branson had feelings for his best friend’s little sister, Ava, before she left, got married, had a little boy before being widowed. But now she’s back having been fired as a journalist as she had taken too much time off work to look after her son. She can’t get journalistic work here but Branson, a very successful ranch owner who is expanding the business, is employing ranch hands and Ava applies. Branson is against this but this could be a chance for him with her so reluctantly he agrees to take her on and let them live on the property so she’s not with her parents. However, he won’t let her sleep in the ranch hands quarters and eventually she and her son end up in his house in the same corridor where he sleeps! Great characters as you’d expect from Leslie and a storyline that isn’t straightforward and will keep you turning page after page. I loved how Branson cared for her son and became a better man and employer thanks to Ava! I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. DEFINITELY RECOMMENDED
Wrangling His Best Friend’s Sister is the first story in Leslie North’s Beckett Brothers series and as the title implies, the complications that come from an undeniable attraction to your best friend’s sibling. Bro code aside, there is just no way that Bran Beckett will avoid his lustful yearning for the feisty widow, Ava Pearson.
A well-written story with loads of misunderstandings, angst and sexual tension to keep readers on their toes. I really liked the characters; Bran has all the best intentions while running his ranch, but lacks personal involvement with his employees and their lives, while Ava is a young widow, striving for completion in a life torn apart by the death of her fireman husband.
This is definitely a quick, entertaining and enjoyable read; so settle in, grab a coffee and lock everyone out, while you witness this intriguing couple navigate turbulent waters of new love and old crushes.
I liked the book, it was a good read and well written. It also was a fairly fast read, I got it done in one night. The characters are good for the most part, easily relatable. And draw you into the story. Bran can be so sweet and lovable but then, he can be so annoying and frustrating. I wanted to just smack some sense into that boy so many times, and probably wouldve if I could. Thank God for Hunter setting him straight. Ava is a saint for not kicking his butt too. They all are, but men are stubborn at times so I get it. Probably wouldnt have been the same book without his stubbornness or need to act like a grownup. I get he lost his parents but so did I, so I get having to sometimes “grow up” faster than your mind can keep up with. Overall very good read, especially if you like the best friends or brother best friend story lines. I really recommend this book, and hope lots of people enjoy it.

Another start of a tri book series from the very talented Leslie North. I always feel the fact she writes her books in three around a family always gives more insight into the family and their situation
This is the story of Ava and Branson (Bran) She is trying to get her life back together after losing not only her husband but also her job and she is trying to raise he son at the same time and believe living with he parents isn’t working. So when Bran needs new ranch hands she puts her hand up for the job, he doesn’t think she is capable of doing such hard manual work but he has his own problems $20,000 has gone missing and he needs to find it Ava wants t help but he won’t listen to her. He is deeply attracted to her but she is his best friends little sister Will they find the missing money and will they get a HEA You will need to read to see
The characters are so incredibly versatile, have incredible depth, and dimension. The settings and situations are beautifully written, it’s so easy to slip into. It’s an amazing read.

A short fast story to read and the start of a new series called Beckett Brothers a well written story that I was not putting down until I had finished reading it. Ava Pearson goes to work for her brother’s best friend on his ranch, but Branson Beckett has a problem that needs to be addressed before he loses a lot. I enjoyed reading. Cowboy, or not cowboy? Love or stubbornness?? This story has just about all to make a great story. I at least simply loved it while I was reading it. I have by now read a few stories by this author and for sure, she is among my favourites!!! This story has a good storyline, good characters, and as it is a part of a trilogy, it also introduces to us what I suspect what will be the next two stories – i.e. the rancher´s two brothers. Can´t wait to read them! And am looking forward to hearing more about the life in this small town and on this ranch and about these brothers. Well done to the author and this time this story is getting the amazing and seldomly given out five stars from me.
