Ava Pearson needs a job—yesterday. After her husband’s death, her life in the city became impossible, and a crisis with her young son caused her to lose her job as a reporter. Now Ava is living in her childhood home again, without prospects, but not without hope. If she can just get enough money to tide her over while she pitches an article to an even better big-city paper, Ava feels she can get … get back on track. The only problem is…what jobs are available in her one-horse town?
Branson Beckett is successful by most measures of the word. He’s the owner of a profitable ranch on the brink of expansion and is now looking for a few good ranch hands to help him out. However, he wasn’t thinking of his best friend’s little sister when it came to hard labor. No, he’d thought of her in other hard situations, but they usually involved the dark of night and his great big bed. Dreams that had no place in reality.
But Ava is convincing. She needs to get out of her parents’ house, and Branson needs her help interviewing his ranch hands. It’s a win-win. He’ll fix his personnel problem, and she’ll write an article about it.
As personnel issues lead to personal pleasure between them, Ava’s big city dream drifts away, replaced by visions of a family in the country. In the end, Branson will have to face tough truths about himself, his ranch, and his relationship. And if he fails to see the light, he’s going to lose the love of his life.

I was granted, via B00|{$P®0UT, an ARC of Leslie North’s “Wrangling His Best Friend’s Sister (Beckett Brothers Book 1).” I recommend this book to others based upon its own recommendations. All opinions expressed within this review are uniquely my own & freely given!
Until next time… Happy Reading!
Bran and Ava’s story is a western romance delight. Bran is a stubborn cowboy that listens to no one and just plows ahead even at the detriment of his ranch hands. He is falling for Ava and her son Cam, but that doesn’t mean he will listen to her either. How will Bran deal with the possibility of losing his ranch and the love of his life if he doesn’t change his ways? Falling in love with each other, they find that elusive HEA, but the journey getting there is fun and worth the read. 4.25 Stars!
First entry in this series sets the high standard. Two strong willed characters challenge each other while working their way through their issues to achieve the HEA

Initially I was weary of reading this book I just could not get past the first chapter but once I got to reading I was at the end and disappointed that it ended too soon. Bran is a ranch owner and childhood best friend of Ava’s big brother Hoyt. Once Ava looses her husband and her job she finds herself going back home and looking for a great job to put her and her son back on their feet so they can go back to the life they were living in the big city.
Bran who is hesitant to see the spunky sister as a ranch hand due to his less than inappropriate thoughts eventually is worn down by her and hires her to investigate some missing funds on the ranch. One thing leads to another and in the end it seems that they both did not anticipate the true feelings that would emerge from life they never thought they would have.
Loved this book and cannot wait to continue reading this series.

This is book one in the “Did Someone Say Cowboy?” series and it features Ava and Branson. These two are creating some serious sparks. She’s learning to live again as a widow. He’s learning some very important life lessons as a ranch owner, a friend and a brother.
The story line is good and the characters are fantastic. Branson’s character growth was on point. I’m looking forward to reading about sexy cowboys in the next book in this series.
Leslie North has another bestseller in her repertoire. This story is outstanding in its simplicity. Simply a country boy loves a country girl. But don’t be fooled. It will grab you and ensnare you into their world. Bran and Ava have so much to learn and so much to give. Ms. North creates a world with her words. A world where cowboys live and work and cowgirls are strong enough to work right alongside them.

It is a sweet love that head built over time of them knowing each other bur never acting on their feelings when around each other. Fate will bring people together when they least expect it. It took a bit for Bran to finally understand where Ava was trying to help him and he shoved her aside until he finally was able to pull his head out of the hole he had dug himself in.

An enjoyable emotional rollercoaster. This interesting storyline has obstacles, grief, tension, attraction, and lots of chemistry. I was addicted page after page with so many questions, lots of sparks, with thes complex, intense, strong willed characters with lots of chemistry. Great how everything flowed with surpising and refreshing outcomes. I voluntarily reviewed this ARC.

Ava Pearson is at the end of her rope. After being widowed and then losing her job, she and her son moved back to her home town. She feels she can pitch a new story and get a new job if she can only hold on. Branson Beckett on the other hand is looking to expand his successful ranch. He is looking for a few new ranch hands. She convinces him to let her hire the ranch hands and then let her write a story about it. Only their attraction seems to be interfering with the plan.
This was a heartwarming, contemporary, cowboy love story that is worth reading. The thing I enjoyed the most were the interesting personalities that the character’s had. They were detailed and well developed. The storyline was easy to read and filled with enough heat to be realistic in a modern relationship where two people have such a great attraction to each other. The characters each had things to work on and determine what was truly important if they were to find happiness. I enjoyed how the characters grew and changed. This story is about self awareness and development and letting go of the past in order to make way for the future. It is an easy to read book and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Bro Code is so BUSTED!!!
Wrangling His Best Friend’s Sister is yet another great story by Leslie North. She has a way with weaving together great characters with emotion, longing, grief, romance, second chances (not just with another person but also with life) and more than a bit of sizzling sexy.
This book centers around Branson and Ava. He is running his family’s ranch and she has recently moved back from the city with her son after losing her husband and then her job. They grew up together as Branson is best friends with Ava’s older brother. Ava cannot stand living with her parents again so she goes to Branson and asks for a job, as a ranch hand, and a place to stay. The only issue is that she had a major crush on him when they were younger and Branson takes one look at Ava now and realizes he may be in some trouble.
Add in a subplot of missing money from Branson, Ava’s previous job of being an investigative reporter and her helping to find out who took the money and you have a nice story-line.
I received a free ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review. My opinions are all my own.
Ava Pearson is a widow with a young son, Cam. She lost her job due to absences with her sick child. She moved back to her hometown, in the home with her parents. She desperately needs a job in order to have her own space.
Branson Beckett is a successful rancher and is now looking for a few good ranch hands to help with the added load his ranch has come under. And on top of being understaffed he is $2,000.00 short on the books which he can’t find no matter how hard he looks.
Ava begs Branson into hiring her and at the same time she will try to locate the reason his books are short by interviewing the ranch hands and getting a feel for who they are.
When Branson ends up putting Ava and Cam in his own home rather than the hired hands cabin it spells trouble and it doesn’t take long for that trouble to make itself known. There is white hot chemistry between them and she is his best friend’s sister.
Ava has big city dreams as a reporter and hopes to move back to Dallas but needs a nest egg in order to do that..
Ava is working out fine as a ranch hand but she has issues with how Branson treats her different from the other hands.
Then there was that kiss, yes a kiss that broke all the rules but neither had the strength to stop it, nor seemed to want to.
After fighting the feelings so long it was impossible to fight them any longer. Branson knew after sending her away that he had made a huge mistake and had to find a way to make her see how he felt and the starter was to tell her.
This is a sad but sweet love story of lifelong friends with an HEA for three people that deserve to be happy.
Enjoyed reading Ava and Bran’s love story.
Ava is a widow ,she lost a job and now she is moving back with her parents. Not the option she likes but starting a new life and juggling motherhood is not easy.
She needs a job and her brother’s friend will be her new boss. Old feelings resurfaced as they spend more time together .
On the begging was more pull and push back as Bran is not sure. Will Ava love win him over?

First book in the “Beckett Brothers” series and it is a fast pace, steamy romance with lots of chemistry, a swoon worthy stubborn cowboy, and a sweet HEA. It is well-written with some drama, humour, twists, and lots of fun. Strongly recommended!

This book was gripping, well written & the chemistry between the characters, Branson & Ava, sizzled throughout this wonderful read.
Well done Leslie. I look forward to more!

Ava Pearson is in desperate need of a job. Ava became a single mother after her husband dies and because of her son’s health problems, she lost her job as a reporter. Ava is forced to move back home to her parent’s house. Ava wants to raise enough money while she tries to pitch an article to a big city paper that will allow her to move her and her son back to their former life. Branson Beckett has been running his family’s ranch since his parent’s deaths. Branson wants to expand his ranch and has asked his best friend, Hoyt Pearson , to invest, but Branson is missing a large amount of money from his books. Until he finds where the missing money has gone, the expansion of the ranch is put on the back burner. Ava convinces Branson to hire her as a ranch hand while interviewing the other hands working for a story about life living and working on a ranch. While doing all this, Ava will be looking for information of what happened to Branson’s money. When Ava questions Bran’s relationship with his ranch hands, Bran reacts with anger and pushes Ava away. The chemistry between Bran and Ava is combustible. Will Bran let go of his stubbornness and listen to what Ava, his brothers, and his hands are telling him? Will Branson confess his feelings for Ava? Who took Branson’s money, and what did they do with it? I really liked Wrangling His Best Friend’s Sister by Leslie North. Wrangling His Best Friend’s Sister is an emotional ride with guilt, loss, grief, and lots of passion. I would definitely recommend getting Wrangling His Best Friend’s Sister by Leslie North.

All Bran does is run his ranch. He doesn’t get to know his workers and doesn’t listen to what they have to say about ranch business. He thinks he knows best. He has no personal life. Ava is Bran’s best friend’s sister. Her husband died and she back home while she regroups. She talks Bran into giving her a job and she starts turning his life upside down. I really enjoyed this book.
Branson doesn’t have time for anything but running the ranch but when Ava pushes him for a job so she can get back on her feet he finally caves as she can help him at the same time. Ava is sweet and strong and is finally getting her life back and living again while Branson is gruff and oblivious to whats going on around him unless its the ranch, Ava or her sweet son Cam. There is plenty of attraction, frustration, humor and hope as we see these 2 dance around what is happening between them as well as around them and you will be hooked until the end then want to read the next book straight after!
