As a life long dog mama, I am such a sentimental sap for a tear jerking doggie story. Having said that, this story pulled on my heartstrings for many reasons. Fur babies doing things in the spirit of defending their human parents and just being their humans unconditional love bugs. I also had a hard time not feeling sadness and pity for people like Buddy/Jodie.
I’ve known people like him, people who experienced some childhood trauma and never got the professional help that they obviously needed. People who grew up in homes where they experienced little to no affection and/or kindness and prevented of ever having any opinions or dreams of their own. People who were forced to be raised by people who were incapable and unfit to raise a child in a healthy environment.
Anyway, I love stories with happily ever afters, especially with loveable fur babies.
I love Catherine Ryan Hyde, even though I’m an adult and she’s a ‘Young Adult’ author.
I love the people in her books; she always finds the good in them and her stories are heartwarming, even if they don’t always have a happy ending. Her characters are human, frail and flawed, but often do the right thing. And I’m a dog lover, so this one really tugged at my heart.
A must read loved it
A lovely read, especially if you’re a pet owner. A nice way to spend a weekend.
A great heart warming story.
It’s been years since I read this, but that I remember it at all, and even more that I remember part of the plot, tells me this is a good book.
Love dog books
This author is one of my favorites
Love and acceptance conquers.
not a romance, like I expected.
A good read that will keep your interest.
Great writing. I thoroughly enjoyed this book.
I liked the character development in this book, though would have liked to have seen more character development and back history with Jody and his family. I am a counselor and work with trauma and would have liked to have seen Jody’s trauma developed more. However, I found the book to be a great read and I recommend this book.
This was a very good, well written book. The characters are well developed and believable. Very sweet story.
Loved it!
Worthy was a great read I really enjoy the love, the angst and the great feelings this book evokes during the whole story.
Virginia is Living the perfect dream in love with Aaron she is ready to take any step he has to propose to her but life had other plans for them and this love is not ready to be consumed.
Buddy a happy kid that is living with his dad, he is afraid of things, his dad constantly has to reassure that he has nothing to be afraid, he is there to protect him, but what will happens when Aaron is gone, leaving his 4 year old all alone searching for a motive to love and live again.
What a wonderful story!! I love how after the years Virginia and Buddy have this amazing connection that no matter how long has been they know something is there that is making them want to be closer.
There’re so many elements that make this book so good, Worthy is one of those, love the name and I love how beautiful is the relationship between buddy and him.
Worthy is a book full of faith, hope and dreams are about kindness and empathy. three characters that in the end get closer making the life they always wanted a home full of love and gratitude.
Great read.
Great book
I love all of her books. She never disappoints.
You do not have to love dogs to love this book…but who can’t love Worthy? Ryan Hyde does it again by reminding us that broken people can find the love they crave in sometimes unexpected places. Also, the kind of love we think we need (such as romantic) can create barrier to the sort of love we really do need.
