Two Lori Foster stories in one – yes, please! Hogan and Violet, AND Nathan and Brooklin give us all the feels on their paths to love. Wonderful characters and heartwarming romance!
Lori Foster never disappoints, this was a fun, entertaining read. I loved Hogan and Violet, along with all the other characters in this story. Every couple had their own story all intertwining around Violet’s Diner. This well written book had humour, drama, sexual tension and suspense. The characters were well written and all up an entertaining tale. I thoroughly enjoyed it and highly recommend this book.
I have always loved any book by Laurie Foster. I would reread her books which I rarely do with other authors. This book had great characters and a great setting. I could see this happening at the local barbecue place.
I couldn’t put this book down. I absolutely loved it!
Fantastic – loved it! Great loves for great people and old wounds healed with promises for the future.
Like Don’t Tempt Me, the first book in the Guthrie Brothers series, Worth the Wait delivers two complete stories for the price of one! With Hogan and Violet and Nathan and Brooklin, we’re treated to the romance we’ve come to love from Ms. Foster, with a bit of mystery and suspense thrown in to keep us on our toes. And alongside our 2 main couples is an outstanding cast of secondary characters from the small town in Ohio, including Colt, Hogan’s unbelievably sweet, kind, and caring son- what a complete doll!
Ms. Foster does a wonderful job of writing 2 overlapping storylines, without confusing the reader as to what is going on. Each story is fully fleshed out, with Hogan and Violet’s story being the main focus. I really enjoyed these 2. As a single father his sole focus has been caring for Colt, and he hasn’t entertained the idea of permanence with any one woman, until things with Violet heat up.
Nathan is the town sheriff and becomes intrigued with quiet woman who’s moved next door. She’s not looking for a relationship, she’s got a past that she’s running from, but Nathan is not one to back down from a challenge. And he definitely won’t let a woman fight on her own.
Worth the Wait is a classic feel good, small town Lori Foster romance.
I thought it was interesting but a bit more graphic than what I would ordinarily read. However, it was a nice break from my usual mystery. It wasn’t terribly realistic but fun.
Love Lori Foster’s books and this is no exception. Great characters that reappear from book – to – book.
LOVE this author; she just makes me laugh
Love Lori Foster!!! She is a master at building relationships
What a wonderful story. I loved the development of Violet and Hogan’s relationship. It was definitely patience personified but it was great seeing Hogan finally put his past behind him and embrace his happiness. And just like the first book in this duology, Don’t Tempt Me, there’s also a secondary love story between Nathan, the hot sheriff, and Brooklin, Nathan’s new neighbor. And Brooklin brings with her a past that brings a little bit of mystery and suspense into this story that makes this story that much more interesting. Overall, this was a very sweet and wonderful story filled with some fun and cute moments. Loved all the interactions between all the characters. Such good people in Clearbrook, OH. And let’s not forget about the hot chemistry between Hogan and Violet and Nathan and Brooklin. I enjoyed every moment of this story.
*I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader copy of this book*
Not as good as others she’s written but I like her books overall.
It was a light read. It was a continuation from her first book Don’t Tempt Me.
Hogan Guthrie is a busy man, working as an accountant by day, and burning the midnight oil as a BBQ grill master at a local restaurant. He does all he can to make a good life for him and his son, and spending his evenings working alongside Violet is hardly a hardship, well most days anyway. She is beyond beautiful, and can be stubborn as hell, but that doesn’t seem to dampen his interest in her. After being burned badly by his ex he has his reservations about getting involved again, but no matter how many reservations he has, Violet just keeps finding a way to get around them! Question is can he trust her with his badly wounded heart?
The moment Nathan Hawley eyes land on his gorgeous new neighbor he knows he needs to meet her and learn everything there is to know about her… but she isn’t so receptive to him. Every time he tries to talk to her she quickly brushes him off, and goes on about her business. But Nathan isn’t the kind of man to back down from a challenge, so he decides this one is going to time take some time, good thing he has all the time in the world. He will find a way to lure her into his world one way or the other!
This was quite the read, not only do you get to witness Hogan and Violet find their happily ever after, but you also get to see Hogan’s buddy discover his too… it’s double the love! These two couples had me wrapped up in their worlds instantaneously and rooting them on the whole way through! Their story lines were blended together seamlessly, and were easy to follow, Ms. Foster did an outstanding job with this one!! It was a sweet, witty, and very sexy addition to the Guthrie Brother series! I highly recommend you visit this series, you are guaranteed some exceptionally crafted stories that come equipped with some endearing characters that are sure to steal your heart!!
Absolutely worth investing the time reading this one! Hogan Guthrie is not only the “Barbecue Master” he is the total package. He is mouth-watering gorgeous and every single woman’s dream and Violet has her eye on him and he has been pursuing her but can she let her guard down and let him catch her. He has a reputation but he has left that behind since working for Violet. Hogan has some trust issues because of his past but if he can get past them there is no doubt the chemistry between them will burn everything in its path.
Nathan Hawley is the sheriff and his new neighbor has caught his eye but she is so secretive he knows there is something she must be running from. Can he get her to open up?
The two stories are woven seamlessly together and with all the fun and secondary characters this is book you do not want to miss. There is a back story with a hint of suspense to keep everyone on their toes but the ending will leave you laughing and smiling for the rest of the day!
I definitely recommend this one!
Worth the Wait is an amazing read!
Hogan Gunthrie is finally in a good place. Hogan and his son Colt are moving on from the destruction his wife left behind after her death. Violet Shaw is the Owner of Screwy Loui’s Restaurant where Hogan is the Barbeque Master. Hogan’s an alpha male whose been hurt and doesn’t want to get married again, but he has the hot’s for Violet. Violet is a hard worker, strong, independent, and everyone’s friend. She also has it bad for Hogan. The interaction between Hogan, Colt, and Violet is full of a lot of laughs, respect, and love.
Sherriff Nathan’s story is intertwined with Hogan and Violet’s story. He’s a HOT alpha male who happens to have the hot’s for his new neighbor Brooklyn Sweet. Brooklyn is a mystery that Nathan wants to unravel. Brooklyn watches her shadow, a little shy because of her past, but also a strong and independent. Nathan unravels the mystery as they become closer with danger just around the corner.
The ending of both stories is so much FUN, LOTS of laughs, and heartwarming. I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
