I fell in love once.
It was amazing. She was amazing. Life was amazing.
I lived for each time I could see her, and nothing else mattered, not that our families were enemies, our time together was forbidden, or we had to meet in secret.
Our love could conquer all.
Until it didn’t.
So I was ripped away from the love of my life and shoved into hell, forced to continue without her.
It shattered … forced to continue without her.
It shattered me, broke the best parts of me, left me permanently damaged.
Or so I thought.
Years later, I swear history’s trying to repeat itself because she’s back in my life, and I’m just as drawn to her as I was before. But I’m older and wiser now, and I know she should stay away from a worthless piece of ex-con like me.
So, I will not let her in. I absolutely refuse to hurt her. I will keep her away.
Then again, sometimes risking your greatest fear to get to a smile makes everything worth it, and besides, I’m not sure I can resist her, anyway.
This is the story of how Felicity Bainbridge changed my life forever, starting one summer day long ago after I was forced to change a dirty diaper…

**********Contains Spoilers**********
I’ve read this book as well of the series multiple times but I’ve never gotten around to posting a review so here goes. I enjoyed this book but just not as much as the previous books, I wish there were only two sections one for the past and one now as the constant back and forth was jarring as I’d get into the moment and all of a sudden it would switch back to the past and vs versa. I really liked the connection between Knox and Felicity aka City. Their love story started 6 years ago as friends then grew into teenage love until one moment and the decision that Knox was basically forced into making by City’s evil pretentious pr*ck of a father all because him and City got caught together separated them possible for good. City’s family were not only rich pretentious snobs but completely cruel human beings. They treated City like she was a freak because she was different to them but really she was the only redeeming quality to the prestigious Bainbridge family and they were utter a*seholes to those they viewed as less because they didn’t have money but I’d rather have no money than be like them so go City for leaving and never looking back no matter how hard she struggled. Man, wee Bentley was totally adorable. It’s amazing that Knox is still the amazing person he was before he got locked up considering everything that happened to him in Prison. He didn’t blame City but she threw a few accusations at him initially. All Knox wanted was her to be safe and happy so it was a complete blow to find out that she’s a waitress at Forbidden and never went to College like she’d planned to do and that she’s no longer associated with her family. It was so cute that Noel basically interviewed City after he saw her reading to see if she was good enough to be Aspen’s best friend and I loved that even without studying Child Psychology that City was planning to do when she was younger she researched ways to help Colton Gamble with his nightmares in the cutest fun way.
I had tears running down my face a lot while reading this book as you could just feel the torment and pain both Knox and City go through during this book, most of it being that they still love each other but Knox doesn’t think he’s good enough for City as well he thinks he’s dangerous as he has PTSD tiggers. I really wanted to just give Knox a massive cuddle and never let go, after hearing everything he’d been through while in Prison and at the end of the ordeal basically being half d*ad he managed to whisper City’s name before passing out. I really didn’t like that Mason and Reese sprung on Knox the reason they wanted them to come over to theirs before everyone else so they could thank him for stopping Reese’s nightmares by k*lling her psycho stalker ex Jeremy and that there was a video of the attack and that’s the reason why Knox got released from Prison and they really shouldn’t have told City what happened to Knox and the reason why he k*lled Jeremy even if she wanted to know. Considering victims of s*xual ass*ult feel so much shame and worthlessness as well that he’d been r*ped by a male inmate it probably makes the shame and worthlessness that much worse so telling the one person that Knox probably never would’ve told about what happened to him while he was in Prison was really horrible. I’m glad that it ended up helping more than hindering. I wish that we would’ve got a Knox and City epilogue as their story finished rather abruptly even thought I enjoyed reading the epilogue from Asher’s POV as it could’ve been included as a prologue in his story and I’m interested in reading his and Remy’s story next as he didn’t have a very good childhood but that’s part of the course with the Forbidden Men family. I’d definitely recommend this book, series, universe and author to everyone.

Worth it
Felicity & Knox
My heart goes out to Knox, he is one of favorite in the series. His story was truly heartbreaking. What he and his family had gone through truly broke my heart
What I loved was how we got the back story to how the main character’s journey started. That portion of the story was beautifully well-done. What I didn’t like was Felicity, she didn’t even try! (view spoiler) Another thing was the NOW part it felt rushed. With how Knox and Felicity got back together and how Felicity found out what happened with Knox. (view spoiler)
Despite those issues, I still enjoyed the story. I love the friendship that grew in Forbidden. It felt like being in a family. Still worth reading
I’ve been waiting for the continuation of Forbidden Men series for like, EVER! After reading Ten’s story, I was expecting to read Asher’s, the hunky vocalist. But no, no, apparently there’s this new guy named Knox, which no one ever mentioned before. And I was like, okay this is weird, who’s is he?
Well, I just met him.
Knox Parker’s life swirled out of control when he stumbled into Felicity Bainbridge for the first time. At first he thought she’s just going to be another snotty Bainbridge, but Felicity is different. He’s oficially in love. Felicity didn’t expect Knox to be gentle and nice. He’s not trashy and bad at all, unlike what her family told her. For a moment, they savor each other in friendship and teenage love. But everything has its end, so does Knox and Felicity’s relationship. Will they found each other again?
Knox and City’s story is like modern Romeo and Juliet, but minus the sad ending. I can guarantee you, these peeps got their happy ending. Knox’s life is like, a sad sad movie. I actually dreaded reading the part when the author shows me his past because I knew it’s not gonna end well. I cried a lot too, but mostly for Knox and his family. I wanna hug him so baaaaaad.
Overall, Linda Kage nailed it again! Even though the ending’s a bit too rushed, I enjoyed this book so much I drained my Kindle’s battery because I’m reading for like, entire day! I hope I can see improvements in Knox’s “brooding” vibe too in future’s books. Just not so much, because I love that he can intimidate Ten, like, easily. He needs a strong hand, my baby Ten. LOL!
Can’t wait to read Asher’s story! The blurb is killing me! I think his story is going to be epic!!! Thank you, Linda Kage!!!!
