From New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Laura Kaye… she’s tough, serious, and doesn’t tolerate distractions. Which is why finding her gorgeous one-night stand on her new dive team is such a problem.
Former navy deep-sea diver Jesse Anderson just can’t seem to stop making mistakes—the latest being the hot-as-hell night he’d spent with his new partner. This job is his second chance, and Jesse knows he shouldn’t mix business with pleasure. But spending every day with Tara’s smart mouth and sexy curves makes her so damn hard to resist.
Joining Tara’s wounded warrior MMA training program seems like the perfect way for Jesse to blow off steam—except now they’re getting in deep and taking each other down day and night. And even though it breaks all the rules, their inescapable attraction might just be the only thing truly worth fighting for.

I absolutely loved this book. First off, this book is a complete stand alone, you do not have to have read either series to follow it completely…but honestly I don’t see why you wouldn’t when both authors and both series are phenomenal! So, Jesse and Tara are everything I wanted and more. This book is full of angst, laughs, all the motions and WOW the heat!! This couple has chemistry and Laura Kaye pulls you in, makes you love them and want them to have it all. You will root for them from beginning to end. If you are looking for a quick, steamy read that will also make you go “Awww” then this is it!

I loved this story so much! It’s a complete standalone, you don’t have to read either of the series to enjoy it. This story sucks you in from page one and just won’t let go. It’s chock full of chemistry, angst, emotion and above all, love. You can help but fight along with them as they fight to get their happily ever after.

Tara and Jesse meet in a bar and ended the night with an one night stand. Little do they know that they will meet each other again, as they are working together from now on. Their attraction is high, but they are convinced it wouldn’t work out because of their jobs.
I enjoyed reading this book. It’s a great addition to the Crossover collection. The only thing that bothered me a bit, was the using of the diver lingo.
I kindly received an ARC for an honest review
One of my favorites in this series. I totally loved it. It gave me all the feels.
This book grabs you right in the beginning and holds on until the end! I love that! Two people with pasts that have brought fears to their futures. Neither Tara or Jesse know how to live without those fears. But when they share a plate of nachos things begin to change. They tried to stay away from each other but their hearts had other ideas. When they find the strength to let going their fears, things seem to fall into place. I highly recommend this book!
“ ℎ ℎ? ’ ℎ ℎ ’ ℎ ℎ ℎ .”
by Laura Kaye is a beautiful, feel-good emotional love story full of hope, possibility, and healing. I was excited to dive into this ℎ / crossover novella because I get the best of both worlds! There is so much heart and vulnerability weaved throughout the pages of Tara and Jesse’s story. You can’t help but to feel EVERYTHING this book and this author have to give. My heart hurt every now and then for this couple, but in the end, Ms. Kaye gifted us with a happily ever after that healed and filled my heart to capacity!

Oh my gosh y’all! Please don’t miss this book!
Laura Kaye is one of the best authors I know! Her books are always all about the feels and this one is full of the best.
Jesse and Tara are magic together! They just fit so perfectly. Even from that very first nacho.
There’s so much inside the pages of this book and I want to be very careful with spoilers.
So all I’m going to say is the men and women from Warrior Fight Club are more than friends and better together than family.
This crossover book isn’t to be missed!
Thank you Laura for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book.
4 1/2 STARS!
A sexy connection right from the start! With the third venture into the Warrior Fight Club series, we’re getting the story of tough gal Tara and her hunky obsession Jesse. Their story was exciting from start to finish, and it was great to get to see some familiar faces again. Looking forward to more in the series.
Tara Hunter didn’t let a near death injury stop her. Yes, it might have forced her to leave her beloved Navy job, but she rallied and pushed herself at the Warrior Fight Club to work through the fear and anxiety she faced until she was able to make herself dive again. She’s coming back for her second season with the commercial dive team that has quickly become like family. On the eve of the start of the season, she happens upon a wickedly sexy stranger at her favorite bar.
Jesse Anderson put his twenty in with the Navy and has recently gotten out. He’s burnt out, stressed and facing a lot of guilt and what ifs. He’s hopeful this new diving job will be just what he needs to acclimate himself to civilian life again. If the welcome to town is anything to show, it could all work out just fine. Until he walks in for his first day and realizes his good time last night is part of his new dive team!
I received an ARC for an honest opinion. This was a wonderful story. Jesse and Tara are bad ass ex Navy divers, who have both endured a difficult transition into civilian life. Jesse and Tara have outrageous chemistry but they met at the wrong time in their lives. Can a turn of events change that? This truly was an enjoyable read and it’s always wonderful to reconnect with Cunningham Falls. I can’t wait to read the other books in the Crossover series.
4 stars. Worth Fighting For is a sweet, sexy, easy read. This book is Jesse and Tara’s story. They meet at a bar late at night on a night when it is empty. The two have an instant connection and they share nachos, dessert and a walk. One hot night later, and a misunderstanding, leads to what could have been the start of a relationship, ending up as just a one night stand. Things get very awkward when Jesse shows up at the first day of his new job on the dive team and finds out Tara is his coworker on the five person dive team. As they spend lots of time together, they sort out their misunderstanding, get over some past baggage and fight to make a relationship work between them.
I really liked Jesse and Tara. They both had some hesitation on their parts as to whether they could be in a relation because of their pasts- Jesse, feeling guilty and worthy because of his experiences at war, and Tara with anxiety and fear caused by a prior diving accident in the military. Still, they had really good chemistry and I definitely felt the love between them. I especially enjoyed the dive team aspect. I found it interesting and a unique setting for a novel. This is a sweet, safe and sexy book. It is a longer novella and felt like it was a full length novel to me.
Overall, this was a good read! I really enjoy the Warrior Fight Club series and can’t wait for more from Laura Kaye!
An amazing story written by Laura. A cross over of Kristen Proby collection. Tara and Jesse having a one night stand that turns into more. Once everything is said and done they can’t be kept apart.
Worth Fighting For is the latest installment of the WFC series, but it is also a crossover for the Big Sky Series by Kristen Proby. This is Tara and Jesse’s book. These two burn up the pages together and make a fantastic duo. Both of them are divers though they both have their own reasons for joining WFC. This book surpassed my expectations and I can’t wait for more!
Worth Fighting for is like coming home! Elizabeth @ Carolina Chic’s Read
This is a crossover story and fits right in with the authors series. This story is like two souls finding their way to each other. It warms the soul and will hear up your kindle. They need each other to heal the one place inside that is rough and needing so much tenderness.
I fell in love with Laura Kaye’s WFC series with the first book and the series keeps getting better with every book. This is Tara & Jesse’s story. You do not need to read any of the prior books to read this one, but I highly recommend it, so you know who some of the other people at the fight club are and their backgrounds. Tara was a navy diver who was medically discharged after a life-threatening injury, she now works for a dive company in DC. She sometimes has panic attacks and has coping mechanisms that help her get through them. When we meet her, she is in her favorite bar trying to battle through her panic attack and she meets Jesse. They share some food and hit it off, so they go for a walk and with their chemistry off the charts they go back to his hotel for a one-night stand. Jesse was an underwater EOD expert and after losing more men under his command he decides to take his option to retire after twenty years as the guilt is eating him up. He feels like he is a disappointment to everyone and is hoping that his new job will help change that.
When Tara goes into work the next day, she gets a surprise Jesse is the newest member of the dive company. They try to pretend like nothing happened, but it is very difficult when they both are still attracted to each other. Jesse thinks he doesn’t deserve Tara, but she wants to give them a chance. Tara thinks she is weak because of the panic attacks. Can Tara convince him to take a chance or will they go their separate ways? Can Jesse prove to Tara just how strong she is for getting back in the water and facing her fears? Will their attraction to each be a distraction neither can afford on the job & how can they handle that? I couldn’t put down and finished the same day I started it.
I really enjoyed this book. It’s my favorite so far in the Warrior Fight Club series (but it definitely reads well as a standalone so don’t be afraid to jump right in) and my favorite of the crossover collection books I’ve read so far. Tara and Jesse were both great and I loved them both. You could really feel the connection between them. I liked the diving setting and the supporting characters. This book felt long for a novella- I still felt the depth of characters and story. I recommend!
When I saw the chance to read Worth Fighting For by Laura Kaye as part of the Kristen Proby Crossover Collection I was super excited. And I can not deny that I completely loved this book. It’s been a while since I had the chance to add something from Laura Kaye into my blog schedule as it books up so far in advance most times. Regardless, I am a longtime fan and truly loved this story. This dual perspective, military romance is set in Washington DC with the brother to Willa from Waiting for Willa by the extremely talented Kristen Proby. Jesse Anderson is a twenty-year Navy EOD Veteran and it took exactly two seconds to fall for him hook, line and sinker. He’s sexy, laid-back and self-deprecating but his feelings for Tara and his dedication to his country made him the perfect hero for this romance. Set in the Warrior Fight Club series, readers will also love the ties to previously explored characters and the MMA trope. But the true star of this story for me was Tara Hunter, the heroine. I seriously loved Tara. Also a veteran, Tara struggles with debilitating anxiety after a diving accident that nearly cost her her life. Tara’s strength and depth was well documented and she’s my favorite type of heroine. Jesse and Tara have the kinda insta-attraction that leads to a night between the sheets and will suck you straight into the story as it did me. Worth Fighting For is the perfect example of Laura Kaye’s writing styles and since it’s been a while since I have read her words, I was reminded all over again why she’s such an amazing author. This story is a novella, but I found that nothing short of five stars would due—if you read my reviews, it’s rare for me to give a novella more than four stars. Yet, my reasons for often giving lesser ratings are largely absent. The story showed depth, had great character progression, and this books plot was fantastic and relatively easy to read. Yes, it’s a military romance, and yes, it’s a little more angsty due to that, but the romance itself was easy and believable without any huge plot twists. Its sexy, and well laid out—I read it in one sitting and would definitely recommend it far and wide!!!
Tara is nervous & anxious to start her new job the next day on a new diving team. She’s dealing with past demons and nightmares so meeting Jesse at the bar is a nice distraction. They immediately hit it off & after a hot, scorching night together she leaves early the next morning to prepare meeting her new dive team. What she doesn’t expect is for her one-night stand to be one of those members.
This was a great story about a woman battling with anxiety & a man who doesn’t see himself worthy of anything or anyone. Jesse has been dealing with family issues, feeling guilty and unsettled from disagreements with his dad. Tara takes her job seriously, is completely focused, & cannot let anything or anyone distract her. Will she prove to herself & Jesse that despite working together, he’s worth taking the risk?
When Tara meets Jesse one night at the bar and ends up spending a super steamy night in bed with him, little does she know that she’s just had a sexual encounter with her new partner. Oops! This book is worth reading just for the tension that fills the pages when these two meet the next day and realize how they know each other. I adored this part of the book and the rest of it as well.
After a very tense meeting, Jesse and Tara still have some unresolved sexual feelings for each other and both are fighting it hard because they work together. Laura Kaye does an incredible job of showing how dangerous it really is for Jesse and Tara to work together with how they feel toward each other. It really made me think about the risks of working with a loved one in a dangerous profession.
Both Jesse and Tara have baggage from their military days that they are dealing with as well. Tara is recovering from a devastating almost fatal accident underwater, and Jesse mourns the loss of his teammates under his watch. It’s all very emotional and I could feel their pain — from their past and also the pain they feel for not being able to really be together in the present.
I just loved this story! Tara is really awesome — I love strong, smart and capable and she’s got it. Jesse is perfect too, especially when he recognizes when Tara is struggling and does everything right to take care of her. Worth Fighting For is a perfectly sized novella with great characters, a fabulous story of healing and moving on, and it all worked for me. Loved it!

Heartwarming steamy military romance
Laura Kaye has another winning romance in Worth Fighting For.
I could feel the sizzling chemistry from the moment Tara and Jesse meet to the very end which brought happy tears to my eyes.
I enjoyed getting a glimpse of what diving, something I’ll never do, is like. I think it’s important to remember the sacrifices our service men and women make and Laura Kaye has done a wonderful job of that in this story and the entire Warrior Fight Club series. It was fun to see the characters from the previous books and I enjoyed the tie in, though small to Kristen Proby’s Big Sky series.
I received an advance reader copy via Lorelei’s Lit Lair.
Powerful and so hot, Laura Kaye know show to write some of the best romances in the business! Tara (a member of Kaye’s Warrior Fight Club series) has been struggling since an accident in one of her dives nearly took her life. Now a civilian, WFC and her new job have taken place of her love of the Navy and the camaraderie that goes with it. Through it all, she still struggles with her anxiety and panic attacks that are a result of that accident. While the scars may have healed on the outside, inside her mind still roils. Which leads her to her local bar and the striking eyes of one Jesse Anderson. Sweet, charming, and inexplicably sexy, one night with Jesse calms her mind and awakens her body in ways she;s never felt. But it all goes south when the next day, he walks in to her work and her new team member.
Retired from the Navy and hoping to make a new life for himself, Jesse is looking forward to working as a civilian in the water. Not much of a life and death situation but still exciting and dangerous enough to feed his adrenaline. But the night before he starts, he meets the intriguing and refreshingly beautiful Tara Hunter. Funny, sexy, and more mysterious than even Jesse can be, he strikes up an easy immediate friendship with Tara that soon turns steamy. One night and he suddenly wants more; unexpectedly, fate throws the two of them together when his new job is working alongside her.
Despite all they have in common and the undeniable chemistry between them, both of them seem to hold back on what could be their HEA. Tara fears her concern of Jesse’s well-being will overtake her ability to care for their entire crew. Add on her anxiety and she truly fears losing Jesse so instead of risk it, she pushes him away. Jesse accepts this and fears he’s not worth fighting for so he let’s her go. Weeks go by as the two struggle to deny their attraction and let me tell you the tension is WORTH THE WAIT! This novella parading as a novel is so sweet and powerful; and reminds you that inner strength can outshine physical strength any day!
Tara meets Jesse and totally hits it off until she finds out he is a co worker. Both Tara and Jesse have survived being in service and both have memories that haunt them. Jesse is able to help Tara when she couldn’t get herself to ask for help. There is a bond between these two but neither will compromise the distraction of work…Jesse is out to find a way for both of them to be happy. Tara find that trusting can work out.
