From New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Laura Kaye… she’s tough, serious, and doesn’t tolerate distractions. Which is why finding her gorgeous one-night stand on her new dive team is such a problem.
Former navy deep-sea diver Jesse Anderson just can’t seem to stop making mistakes—the latest being the hot-as-hell night he’d spent with his new partner. This job is his second chance, and Jesse knows he shouldn’t mix business with pleasure. But spending every day with Tara’s smart mouth and sexy curves makes her so damn hard to resist.
Joining Tara’s wounded warrior MMA training program seems like the perfect way for Jesse to blow off steam—except now they’re getting in deep and taking each other down day and night. And even though it breaks all the rules, their inescapable attraction might just be the only thing truly worth fighting for.

Veteran Tara Hunter wants to see more of her sexy one night stand but what she doesn’t expect is for him to be the new guy at her commercial diving job. Will they be able to make a relationship work while staying professional at work? Or is their relationship over before it’s even started.
As with all Laura Kaye books, this was an emotional one. These two were so sweet and I loved every minute of their story. Tara was a strong heroine who has overcome a lot to be able to do the job she loves. She still suffers from anxiety and panic attacks, but she manages them and it doesn’t interfere with her job. You can see her confidence in her diving build the more she gets into the water.
Jesse left the Navy after putting in his twenty years but now he is struggling to figure out what he wants to do with himself. He also is struggling to feel like he is good enough because he grew up being told he never was. Now he is filled with guilt and fear of messing up. Meeting Tara was the best thing that could happen to him, especially since she invites him to the Warrior Fight Club and he finds the brotherhood he has been missing.
Tera and Jesse were just a great couple. They had great chemistry, they were supportive, and they could lean on each other when they needed to. This was just a beautiful and heartbreaking story that I couldn’t put down, which is why Kaye is one of my favorite contemporary romance authors.
Trigger Warnings: Tara sufferers from panic attacks and anxiety
In a chance encounter, Tara and Jesse meet one night at a bar and have instant chemistry and a friendly banter between them. One thing leads to another and the next morning, she realizes that she had sex with her new partner. How will they deal with having to work together?
Both Tara and Jesse are carrying baggage from their Navy careers that ended in devastation, nightmares, and heartbreak. You can feel their pain from everything that they have been through coming off of the pages. Tara was almost killed in an underwater accident and Jesse feels the loss of his teammates under his watch.
I love how they are together and how Jesse is able to she Tara’s struggles and be able to take care of her.
The is a fantastic addition to Laura Kaye’s Warrior Fight Club and I loved Tara and Jesse.
Really enjoyed this book! So excellently done! Tara Hunter is a retired navy diver who suffered a tragic accident, but she’s now the one woman on an all-man team of commercial divers. One late evening she can’t sleep. Tara visits the neighborhood bar where she meets one very attractive Jesse Anderson. The chemistry is immediate! They have a hot night together, but imagine their surprise when Jesse walks in the next morning as the new man on Tara’s commercial dive team! What they thought could be the beginning of something, isn’t. It’s too dangerous in their job to have these types of connections. Both Tara and Jesse suffer from the lasting effects of their time in the service. Tara invites Jesse to join her wounded warrior MMA training group for its therapeutic effects and comraderie. They are confronted with their attraction with each other on a daily basis. Will Tara and Jesse be able to work out how to have more than a friendship. I suggest you find out!
I really enjoyed reading this book. A lot of it made sense because I have previous scuba diving experience. I found the technical parts of the book highly interesting. The chemistry between the two and the way Laura Kaye writes her love scenes was incredibly hot! An all-around great book that any Laura Kaye fan wouldn’t want to miss!!
Loved this story with Tara. Getting a chance to spend time with her and find out about that beautiful scar she has and then meeting Jesse. Such chemistry and heat between these two.
Tara Hunter couldn’t sleep, her first day back on the job was tomorrow and although it was nothing new she was nervous. Deciding on a bit of a walk and food even though it was late she went to Murphy’s her favorite bar and grill. Nachos will solve everything.
Jesse also couldn’t sleep for him tomorrow is first day on a new job, and he needed to chill. Tara begins a conversation with him which was a bit out of character for her. Then as they shared appetizers a friendship begins, that after another walk around this time together becomes a lot more.
Working together was not as difficult as Tara thought it would be at least not at first. Trying to not be more was difficult.
I loved this story as they both overcome some hurdles on the way to their happily ever after.
I have read a different series by Laura Kaye before and loved it. This is a Warrior Fight Club crossed with Kristen Proby’s Big Sky series. Jesse Anderson is from Cunningham Falls, served in the Navy, unfortunately his relationship with his family has suffered for too many years because of choices that he made. After losing too many men and feeling the weight of those losses Jesse decides to retire. The night before his new job starts he finds himself sharing nachos with a beautiful woman (Tara Hunter). Jesse and Tara experience a very, very HOT night together. Tara Hunter is former military as well. She suffers anxiety from surviving a terrible underwater accident that nearly took her life. The night she spent with Jesse was the best of her life. She slips away from him in the early morning hours. The next morning they both find themselves working together at the same company and on the same team. They both struggle how to handle their attraction and being colleagues. Both, Jesse and Tara, struggle coping with a team members accident. Tara introduces Jesse to Warrior Fight Club. Warrior Fight Club consists of veterans looking for a “community” to belong to. Together, Jesse and Tara, help each other with their “demons” to be able to move forward in their lives and hopefully find that special love that both are craving yet do not feel they deserve. I loved this story. I love how Jesse finds quiet ways to help Tara with her anxiety. Will they find a way to be together? Will their demons finally be pushed to their past? Will Jesse find his family again? You will just have to read Worth The Fight by Laura Kaye to get your answers. I received an ARC in exchange for a honest review. Easy to give 5 stars to this one. Totally enjoyed the heat, the banter between all the characters, and their strength. Also, I would like to extend my most sincerest thank you to all military personnel, active and retired. Thank you for your service.

Laura Kaye’s newest, Worth Fighting For, is a contemporary military romance that is a cross-over with Kristen Proby’s Big Sky series and features a 32-year-old female Navy veteran. Big points to Laura Kaye for both the ages of the characters and the fact that Tara was a SeaBee. I love that because yes, not all veterans are men! I also loved that Jesse was not an overly macho jerkwad but protective and yes, vulnerable. The two had great chemistry, and Laura captured the awkwardness of their post-fling job situation in a way that didn’t seem trite and contrived. I just loved this book.
4.5 Stars
Tara Hunter and Jesse Anderson find themselves spending a night filled with passion, heat and a connection neither one saw coming. But that was all it could be one night. They both have to much to focus on, a job that needs their full attention. Both are starting a risky job and they can’t have their find wandering to that amazing night. But when they both show up to their new dive job, they find they are on the same team. And things become even more complicated for these two former Navy Divers, who were looking to start over.
No matter the connection, the feelings or the tension filled moments, the job has to come first, even if it’s impossible to be in the same space together and not crave the other. Jesse and Tara will have to set their feelings aside, and hope they can make it work. Can they risk their jobs for the bond they share. Or will they loose out on a shot at happiness in fear of not being able to do their job and be together.
Worth Fighting For has so much passion, heat, healing and hope. Jesse and Tara are a couple you will root for from beginning to end. Their fight to heal themselves and for each other was so beautiful to read. I love this world, these characters Laura Kaye has created in the Warrior Fight Club series. Each book drags you into such a alluring and fast paced setting. With strong, beautiful characters you can’t forget.

Love this entire series..and this one from female POV
In Worth Fighting For we meet Tara Hunter; a commercial diving instructor and member of the Warrior Fight Club and Jessie Anderson; retired Navy deep-sea diver, who is struggling with life and the decisions that he has made. In this book, the characters really do tell the story, as the author has once again made the characters relatable and likable, which I find not to always be the case with novellas.
But also don’t let this books novella status fool you, this is no snippet of a story, this book is deceptively detailed and by the end of it, you get the satisfaction of a full book from just a novella.
Now Worth Fighting For is a part of the Kirsten Proby crossover series, but in true transparency, I have read no other books in the series, and have no idea if these characters are a part of a different series, I’m solely here for the Warrior Fight Club, and I finished the book complete happy, without any confusion.
I love Laura Kaye and this was a great addition to the WFC series! This grabbed you from the beginning and you did not want to put it down. The chemistry and banter between Tara and Jesse was awesome – if only I could get so lucky by ordering nachos! It was great to see previous characters and get a hint at what’s coming as well! I’m really looking forward to more! It’s also amazing how she weaves in the struggles of our returning vets and how heroic they are even after they return home. While only a novella, this story will stick with me a long time and I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for an amazing love story!
First, I loved this story. It isn’t often that you have a story told with two main characters both suffering from post-military issues. I kept going back and forth trying to decide who was the main character in this book when I finally decided they both were! Although, I will give a slight edge to Tara, a commercial diver who was medically discharged from the Nay after an on the job freak accident that almost killed her. Jesse, a former Navy deep-sea diver is dealing with survivor’s guilt post service. is battling his own demons trying to settle into civilian life and get ready for a new job.
Tara and Jesse both hit their local bar, each trying to avoid their own anxiety issues. As two would be strangers bond over nachos, Casablanca quotes and a monster ice cream sundae, they find themselves taking a long walk in the cold that gets H-O-T in a hurry.
A super steamy night is just the therapy they both need. Then a misunderstanding makes things even more awkward and tense when Tara and Jesse arrive on the new job to find out they are now coworkers.
I don’t want to give the whole story away….let’s just say that close quarters only make it harder to resist each other and easier to fall. Tara introduces Jesse to the WFC and the gang there. The WFC is a place for all to find support, comraderie, healing, and to find release from the demons that are haunting them. We follow Tara and Jesse as they wrestle with whether or not they can be involved with a coworker and still do their job without distractions. Above all, they put the safety of their team and co-workers above their own needs and wants.
Tara and Jesse’s story will keep you riveted and flipping through the pages to see if they can conquer their fears and find their way through to a love that is Worth Fighting For. And this 3rd installment in the Warrior Fight Club Series is definately worth the read. Laura Kaye does not disappoint. I acn’t wait for the next installment. These wounded warriors have captured my heart and bring me to tears every time. You can’t help but feel their struggle to your very soul. If you have a military member in your family or a friend who is military….this will make you feel everything they go through. So true to life and a refreshing portrayal of the struggles our military members go through. Thank you, Laura Kaye, for staying true to their struggles, battles and triumphs and bringing them into our world.
This is by far my favorite of the Kristen Proby crossovers I’ve read so far. Jesse and Tara both have demons from their past they are running from, but the strength they get from each other helps them face and defeat those demons. These two had chemistry in spades, and they heat up the pages. I loved the career choice the author had for Tara. (Heck, for both of them) I don’t believe I’ve read a story with diving as a profession, but it was definitely interesting reading about it all.
This is my first Laura Kaye read, but it definitely won’t be my last! Can’t wait to start on her Warriors Fight Club books. I definitely recommend this read!!
Perfection!
I love the one night stand that pops back up later trope, it’s always so fun. But in the hands of the fabulous Laura Kaye it’s becomes so much bigger than that! Jesse and Tara are both former Navy and dealing with the aftermath of separation. The Wounded Warrior Fight Club is an excellent place to deal with those issues…as is the bedroom if only they can both get out of their fears long enough to see it.
Part of a Kristen Proby crossover, Worth Fighting For is a wonderfully perfect blend of these talented ladies’ two worlds.
Tara Hunter and Jesse Anderson are warriors in every sense of the word, fighting for their country and now themselves in hopes of conquering their demons, their scars and their fears. These two know what sacrifice is…what it means to fall down and get back up, regardless of the personal cost, and now as civilians, they’re working to get their lives back on track remaining focused on what’s important…on what gives them peace amidst the chaos.
Tara and Jesse didn’t fight their attraction when they first met, giving into their lust for one another for one-night of passion, but now that their lives have crossed paths again in a professional capacity, they’ll have to decide if what the feel for each other is worth fighting for…
Despite Tara and Jesse’s initial night together, when they start working together, any kind of forward progress when it comes to non-plutonic relationship hits a roadblock, causing these two to circle around each other until they can figure out if they can help heal one another’s wounds while still fighting for themselves as well.
Laura Kaye’s Warrior Fight Club series is full of heart, illustrating the strength of its characters and proving that the definition of a warrior is ever-changing because every single person has the ability and the will to fight for what matters most and love is absolutely something to fight for.
4 Poison Apples
I’m really glad I was part of the blog tour not only for this title but for two others as well because now I just want to devour Kristen’s Big Sky series! AND, I’ve had Laura Kaye’s series, Warrior Fight Club on my on-deck radar for a while now and it has gotten bumped up!! SO EXCITED!
Again, short sweet and to the point LOL A little bit of that tug-of-war between the leads added good tension to their chemistry. I enjoyed this one tremendously. It had heart and it was sexy. Well done!
Worth Fighting for by Laura Kaye is part of her Warrior Fight Club series and part of The Kristen Proby Crossover collection. This is a great read for those that love Laura and/or are new to her! I have read a few books by Laura Kaye and have truly enjoyed them! I have added all of them to my TBR! This one offers us a story full of emotions, hope, and recovery.
Tara and Jesse have a night to remember and it was supposed to end there but are later surprised to learn they will be working together. So, no matter how strong the attraction and connection is, nothing more can come it. But neither can deny what they feel or want. Worth Fighting For by Laura Kaye was a quick read that was emotional, heartwarming and charming. Watching Tara and Jesse fall pulls you right in from beginning to end.
Read and reviewed for Sultry Sirens Book Blog.
Happy reading!
I loved this super sexy novella! I’ve come to expect the stories in this series to deliver an emotional punch, and have not been disappointed! The characters of the warrior fight club series continue to draw me in with their stories of overcoming adversity. Love seeing each of them find their happily ever afters!
This was a beautiful story. It was a pleasure watching Tara and Jesse fall in love. They hook up one night and then the next day, discover that they are now coworkers. The risks involved in their job means that a relationship could be distracting and dangerous and both try to fight their growing relationship and attraction to each other. Tara with her anxiety was relatable and it was encouraging to see her not let it from controlling her life. It was great to revisit with the other Warrior Fight Club members and definitely made me excited for the next book!
