Godammit. I never thought I would say this but I loved Luca’s books more than Dom’s. This man is EVERYTHING. Also, they have a lot of features in common, but he kidnapped my heart. I can’t tell how much I enjoyed the story.
We can read the story in the present time, Gretchen & Luca’s POV. I loved those two. The pull between them was palpable, but I like to Gretchen stood up for her beliefs. She couldn’t resist Luca. I don’t blame her I could not resist him.
The story about overwhelming love, trust, and courage. Please go and read Worship!
I read, ‘Truth’ (book 1) and fell…hard! I, seriously, thought there was NO WAY Trilina could top my love for Dominic King and his relationship with Drew. You see, I loved every little thing about him. Enter ‘Worship’ hitting my kindle and I was thirstily drinking in every single word, nuance and hidden meaning. I admit to all, right here and right now, that I was wrong. Trilina topped Dom with my incredible love for not only Luca, but Gretchen as well.
‘Sexy Luca is hard to ignore, but this Luca, the one asking for the kind of kiss that’s filled with my heart, is the one I crave. So much so that I’m willing to make very poor choices.’
Luca is capital A, alpha, but with a soft, squishy center. He is wild, broody, demanding and untamed with a don’t give a d@mn attitude. He is in an incredibly unfortunate living situation that makes him mad, pissed and bitter. Up until the start of Worship there is one girl who brings him sheer happiness and gives his life meaning. Luca thought it would be just the two of them for the foreseeable future, until he met Gretchen.
Gretchen rocks as a heroine. She is feisty, a female version of an Alpha with a capital A, witty and does not take crap from anyone. She is a bad@ss!! Her friends are her everything and she firmly believes in the word family. In reading Gretchen’s story, we learn along with Gretchen, that the word family can take on many different meanings. For her, her friends are her family.
The collision of Luca and Gretchen is electric, awe-inspiring, sexy and exquisitely beautiful to watch. Fireworks is one way to describe them. Luca realizes that he has met his match in Gretchen and doesn’t want to let her go. What he doesn’t know is that she will be the one to bring him to his knees.
‘There are only two reasons for a man to be on his knees: prayer and pussy. And I sure as hell don’t pray.’
As phenomenal as they are together, Gretchen, has one thing that she lives by…
‘He belongs to me in so many ways, but I won’t play second fiddle either.’
What started as slightly taboo metamorphosed into something exquisite. They develop a true, deep hearted friendship with love and respect. The question is, will friendship be enough for Gretchen to trust him when he asks? Sometimes love and friendship, may not be enough.
As I mentioned before, I, adored Worship. I loved how Trilina portrayed Luca. From beginning to end, we see a transformation within himself with the realization of his love for Gretchen. They have a rather unique situation and it is extremely difficult as the reader to sit back and not root for them. I truly didn’t think I could love someone more than Dom, but Ms. Pucci completely won me over with Luca and Gretchen. Luca speaking Italian throughout the book, just cemented his status of new book boyfriend for me. I was so excited about this series after Truth, but now with the addition of Worship in the love column, I can’t wait for the next book.
Worship will have you all googly-eyed as you witness love from beginning to end. Worship is impeccably written with a strong, continuously moving storyline and a plot that could be taken straight from The Chicago Tribune or The Chicago Sun-Times. One thing I didn’t mention yet is Luca’s relationship with ‘his boys’. As powerful as these Italian boys are they will remind you of any other group of boys. They laugh, play cards, shoot the sh@t, smack talk in Italian and lust after the pretty girls (the men that are available). Truly a book not to be missed!! Kudos Trilina!!
‘This woman is part supermodel and full bada@@ wrapped around a wicked sense of humor and the truth. My truth.’
‘Love isn’t a lie–people are liars. Find someone to tell you the truth and you’ll find your soul mate.’
A few things to know about Worship,
Contains: Broody Alphahole, Single Dad, Dirty Talker, Genuinely Sweet and will have you begging for more by the end of the book…
If those 4 things DON’T make you want this book I have no idea what will, because Luca King is EVERYTHING you need in BBF
We met Luca in Book 1 Truth who is the twin brother of Dominic King. In Truth we don’t see much of Luca besides his “accident”, but finally we get his whole story and a deeper glimpse into his broody hot Italian personality.
Gretchen on the other hand is Drew’s BFF, we watched her storm her way to Luca’s side in Book 1 and now we see their relationship start off in the sweetest of ways…. AS FRIENDS. Both G and Luca genuinely care for each other and even though its a sweet start to their relationship that doesn’t mean Luca plans to keep it that way.
Worship literally gave me goosebumps the entire time I read it. I needed more of Luca and G the minute the book ended. They were perfect for each other, and G was Luca’s equal in everything. Something he had unknowingly been searching for.
ARC REVIEW
Be still my heart.
You guys!! Trilina is bringing her A game with this book, like always!
‘Worship’ is the second installment in a Sinful Series and she could have written it any better.
If you follow her or me you probably know that she had to delay the release for the book because she wasn’t happy with it, so she wrote it all over again!! And the thing is… she did the right thing because the result is just a wonderful Masterpiece.
In this book, we follow the story of Gretchen and Luca, who we previously met in ‘Truth’, book one in the series.
Luca is Dom’s twin brother, he’s broody and snappy, he’s lethal and menacing but he’s also sweet and caring for those he loves and feels like they deserve it.
He’s been dealt shit hands of cards over and over again but between all the chaos and horror that comes with his lifestyle, he receives the best gift ever, a daughter, Ella.
Gretchen is Drew’s best friend, she’s a strong woman, a shark in her line of work and she doesn’t stand to anyone’s bullsh*t.
Gretchen is no one’s pushover and she definitely will put up and an epic fight with bossy Luca.
Their love story is a slow burn but their emotions will be evident, even if not to them, right away. It is full of intense passion and fireworks that will definitely light up your whole face.
Luca’s life is all kinds of messed up but he will do anything to be able to hold Gretchen in his arms and even though obstacles keep appearing, reading ‘Worship’, you will see that true love, someone who is your equal and deserves you whole will be worth every fight and every heartbreak.
Absolute MUST READ if you like a good and true love story with a whole lot of drama, heartbreak, suspense and just all kind of steamy scenes! *wink*
Luca worshipped the ground Gretchen walked on . Luca & Gretchen had wonderful chemistry together it seemed to radiate off of them both. Shelby was very selfish & had no time for anyone but herself. I was cheering when she for kicked to the curb. Bring on Dante ‘s book.
Who knew that God’s name was really Luca?!
This was one of my most anticipated books which says something since I just discovered this author last month. I thought Dom in the first book was sublime. However, he has NOTHING on his twin brother Luca. NOTHING. I am cussing myself out that I took Spanish and French for my Literature degree instead of Italian because had I known it would sound like this…gobsmacked. I loved that the author did the dual translation. I think that it added to the story. Especially, when it became a game between the characters., ““Quando saremo vecchi e grigi, ti dirò che oggi è quando ho aputo che ti amavo.” When we’re old and gray, I’ll tell you that today is when I knew I loved you.”
Luca made me blush. ME? I don’t ever blush, but this guy takes dirty talking to a WHOLE new level and he does it in both languages. He is Alpha but not in a jerk way. He is a confident and cocky but good lord if there was ever someone that deserved to be it is this delicious man. I loved that he was able to let his control falter when it came to her” There are only two reasons for a man to be on his knees: prayer and pussy. And I sure as hell don’t pray.” And yet he got down on his knees in so many ways…. Literally and figuratively.
Gretchen was delightful. The proper balance of feisty and strong. I admired that she stayed true to her morals. I loved that she truly saw Luca and understood him and what he was going through and always gave him sage words of advice, “Love isn’t a lie—people are liars. Find someone to tell you the truth and you’ll find your soul mate.” Although it was apparent that she was going to lose in the end it was still a valiant effort. I liked that it took as long as it did because it strengthened their connection. The steam in this book. SWEET HOLY Mary, Joseph, Gabriel, and Baby Jesus. FIRE isn’t even as hot as these two.
Their road to happiness was not simple by any means. They fought against the pull. Yet, they were two magnets and they were only fooling themselves., “But you remember something, baby: there will always only be me. You’re the only real vow I’ve ever taken. And everything is going to fall apart, burn to the [word removed for the censors] ground, until we fix us because, Angel”—I place my hand on her chest—“this belongs to me. I’m the only man that gets to hear it beat. When you realize that, I’ll be waiting.”
I wanted more of a resolution at what happens at the end of the book, but I am hoping/thinking that will come in book three with the next story. Yet even with that, I could not mark this book down because it is that good. I am a forever fan of this author now. I was hooked with the first book but this one exceeded it and my expectations. If the old adage is true and practice makes perfect, then God have mercy on my soul because I am not sure that my heart or good ole BOB will survive Dante.
I found the dynamic between Gretchen and Luca fascinating in the first book in this series, Truth, so I was excited to get to read their story in Worship. It was not quite what I expected, but also in a lot of ways exactly what I hoped for. Their relationship was often difficult to understand, even while I could plainly see how much they both needed what they got from one another.
Cheating has never been a hard line for me, but in Worship, it was especially a non-issue. The details of Luca’s relationship with his wife were complex and unsavory. Gretchen’s inclination to refuse to have more than a friendship with Luca while he was still legally tied to another woman said a lot for the type of person she was. Especially in light of the intense emotional connection, she shared with him. I loved that they built their relationship as friends because I always find that type of mutually respectful relationship much more solid and lasting than those based purely on sexual attraction.
My heart hurt for Luca for most of the book. He had placed himself in such a painful situation, and he didn’t seem to fathom how badly his intentions were hurting him. I completely understood his compulsion for retribution, but I hated that he was suffering for it. He needed the clarity only Gretchen could provide him to see what he was doing to himself, just as she needed his support to face the things she’d been avoiding under the guise of protecting herself.
I have a few wishes for Worship, the first being some minor editorial issues need to be addressed. This book was better edited and had more coherent voices than its predecessor, but there were a handful of things that needed to be fixed. I also felt like Gretchen’s ultimatum came out of nowhere. At no time did she indicate that was anything that bothered her, and if she’d had such a problem with the issue at hand it would have come up long before that moment. It just felt out of place and uncharacteristic for someone so outspoken to have not mentioned it before dropping that bomb on Luca. There is also a little bit of a timeline issue. After the prologue the book started six months ago, then a few weeks – maybe a month and a half pass – and when we get to the present only two more months have passed. It just felt disjointed and careless not to address the actual length of time that had passed when it could have been an easy fix.
Worship is the second book in Trilina Pucci’s Sinful series. These books are interconnected standalones and don’t need to be read in completion (though I think it’s worth it, just to get to know the ‘family’ relations). Worship is written in dual first-person perspective, narrated by Gretchen and Luca.
Uh I so wish I could give more than just 5 stars!!! I absolutely loved this book and have found my next one-click author.
This book has it all a broody alphahole who is a hot single dad with the ability to hold a grudge like no one else. A beautiful brazen hero who refuses to play second place. This is Gretchen and Luca’s story. Love is not always black and white as there are many shades of grey. We learn this as we follow Luca and Gretchen on their journey to find the happiness they both deserve.
This is a love story, but it is not as easy as one would hope. There are a lot of outside factors that come into play. As much as you wish that it would fall right into place it takes A LOT of work for those involved to see just what can be lost if we don’t fight for what it is we actually want.
Luca Knight is a force to be reckoned with when backed into a corner. In Truth we get the idea that he is the quiet one that takes all things in stride. Um let’s just say that is so not the case. He will do just about anything for those he holds close to his heart. Especially his girls, no one gets away with messing with them. Gretchen is just as sassy in this book as she was in the last. She is stronger than she gives herself credit for. I get that this review may seem kinda vague, but I refuse to spoil just what a great book this is.
The secondary characters are well written and am so looking forward to ALL of their stories as well.
Luca. Just wow! I loved him. But please do not ask me to choose between Dom and Luca. I think sexually Luca was more, just more and more alpha. I loved Gretchen and Luca when it came to the sex, it was just freaking HOT! I mean, I normally don’t come across this way right off the bat when it comes to my reviews, I guess you can say I am just throwing it all out there with this one, but I mean how can you not.
Luca’s story picks up right where his story leaves off at the end of Dom and Drew’s story. Now, I am going to say something and please don’t take it the wrong way, but story wise, Dom and Drew’s was better. It hit all the levels for me. It started out hot, then there was the downfall, then there was the upbringing. So pretty much there I’m saying there was a beginning, middle and end. For Luca and Gretchen, I feel like we were missing a part of them.
Backstory… that is what I was missing. We know they talked a couple times in Dom and Drew’s, it is even mentioned. I wish their story started when they ran into each other in Truth. I wanted to see those conversations. At the end of Truth, we didn’t even know there was something going on between them until the very end. I would have loved to see their first meet!
With that being said, I still loved Luca! Hot damn, that man! I love me the alphas! And he is an ALPHA! Gretchen and Luca ended perfectly. It makes me excited for the upcoming books in this series. Dante is going to be very interesting and very different from Dom and Luca. We have been told to expect Dante by July. Fingers crossed! That will be one hell of a book to read on the beach! HAHA! I totally would read it on the beach! I’m excited for the next part of this series… CHURCH!!!!!!!!!
BRING ON THE SUMMER!!!!!!!!!!
4 Owls!!!
Worship is the second book in the Sinful series by Trilina Pucci, but it can be read as a stand-alone. I wouldn’t recommend that because I loved the first book and I feel like you should pick it up and give it a try. Truth (aka book 1) book surprised me in a very good way.
I did everything I could to get an early copy of Worship and I did a happy dance when I got it. Then when the time came to actually read the book, I got cold feet. I had not read the part where it says that Luca had a wife and I was a little stunned to read that he was married in the prologue. Still, I kept reading hoping to find answers, I stopped because I didn’t want to reach a certain point where I knew that everything would blow off and after a couple of days, I continued reading the story. When I reached the point I was dreading, I was shocked for a second, then I proceeded to re-read that part a couple of times and I settled on cursing everyone and everything. I swear that these books always surprise me and leave me wanting more. I was wondering where the book was heading and I am saying that in a good way and not in the “the author doesn’t know what she wants” way.
Luca keeps many secrets and he is not willing to share them with us. I loved that Gretchen doesn’t just blindly follow him around and takes whatever he is willing to give her without asking for more. She is feisty, strong and has a backbone which is everything I could ask. She is also a kind and compassionate person. Gretchen is my kind of girl and I am 99% sure that the majority of you will love her almost as much as Luca does. All her interactions with Ella made me think that she is meant to be in her life.
Gretchen and Luca’s relationship is very complicated and rocky. Gretchen is set on doing the right thing, but Luca goes after what he wants and the heart wants what the heart wants. They have their ups and downs, but I never doubted their feelings for each other. They are the kind of couple that you know it’s meant to be and there wasn’t a part of their story that was rushed.
Dante and Sarah could be the couple of the next book and if that happens I will be very very happy. I like Dante a lot and he seemed so set on Sarah that made me think that their story is going to be interesting and hot. I also hope for Mateo’s story, since he seemed like a nice person. Drew and Dom are quite present during this story and I was very happy about that since I love reading about the characters who are living their happily ever after.
Below I am addressing something from the blurb, that might concern some people after reading the last line of it.
People like me hate cheating. Hypocrites like me hate cheating only when the hero cheats on the heroine and vice versa. As luck would have it, this is the kind of cheat I don’t mind since Lucas and Gretchen don’t cheat on each other.
„Worship” is second book in the Sinful series written by Trilina Pucci. You met Luca King, Dominic’s brother, one of main characters from this book, in the previous book from this series “Truth”. After I met him too I just couldn’t wait for his story. And what a story it is.
In “Truth” Luca was badly beaten. We learn he has a wife, who never visited him in the hospital but instead went straight to the lawyers to prepare everything in case he would die. But he did make it and now he is set for revenge. Luca has also a daughter who is six months old Ella who is the center of a world for her father.
Other main character of this story is Gretchen Andrews is Drew’s (who we also met in the first book) best friend. I suspected an attraction between them when I saw how Gretchen protected Luca at the hospital. In the second book we are able to see how that attraction grew into something more. Gretchen knows Luca is married and that’s why he is off the limits but is also true that she doesn’t know the whole story. What I really like in this book is that Gretchen is a really powerful woman at work as a director of marketing at Cohen Management, she is definitely not a weak damsel in distress in need of saving. But that stops when she is around Luca. Around him is powerless with the pull and chemistry which is all consuming.
I love how the story between these two started. The got to know each other in maybe slow pace but that pace was perfect for them apparently cause at one point the felt in love in each other. But there are things she doesn’t know and these things are all the things from the dark part of his world. And she doesn’t understand what she’d be signing on for if she was with him and at the same time Luca can’t keep said dark side of his life separate from Gretchen forever. Their relationship was really new and fresh and that’s why they weren’t ready when everything was revealed.
Without giving away any spoilers Luca shares a connection with Gretchen and despite that their relationship is a taboo kind one, what the heart wants, Luca takes. Their relationship they shared and the friendship they built was really well written and I was so happy I was lucky to know their story. Trilina Pucci keeps Luca deliciously alpha and dominant to the core but we are also able to see him changing as his priorities shift when he met his match. Yes, he still is ruthless, aggressive and dangerous yet he is also that kind of man in love who finally found his reason.
Luca’s and Gretchen’s story may be unconventional but as you will know them better and see their raw love you will see it’s at the same time true and very intense. I really love the character of Gretchen who had got sass, really impressive strength and a lot of self-respect. She knew her worth and she never allowed herself to deviate from that. As for Luca he is confident, alpha type and he was a perfect counterpart for Gretchen who was only one woman who could bring him on his knees. I love first book but “Worship” got me so invested that I cannot wait for the next books in this series.
Wow! After reading Truth, I was excited for Luca & Gretchen’s book. Welp, it did not disappoint. This is not your typical love story. It is taboo, angsty, emotional and their HEA is hard fought. I simply love a broody, alpha and a strong, sexy heroine and Trilina delivers on both counts. Can’t wait for the next in the series.
This is Luca and Gretchen’s tabooish story and wow it’s as good as the Truth book! Luca is a straight up alpha and knows what he wants and nothing will stop him. I love his personality and the way he is with his daughter and Gretchen! Of course lots of intense moments it’s the twin Kings of course you expect that! I hope more characters get there stories too! 5/5 stars

After reading “Truth”, I was curious to read more of the characters. I’m so excited for Luca and Gretchen’s story!! Luca is Dominic’s twin brother and Gretchen is Drew’s best friend. For those of you that haven’t read the first book, it’s Drew and Dominic’s story.
I don’t really know where to start. When I got into this book, I didn’t know what to expect. The author managed to blow my mind again and wrote a story with the perfect amount of drama to keep me at the edge of my seat!
The relationship between Luca and Gretchen is forbidden since he’s married and has a daughter. Every interaction they have is so intense, that I seriously felt the tension through the pages! Luca is miserable and angry in his marriage. He’s still with his wife to make her pay for betraying him. Gretchen can’t overlook that he’s married. She tries hard to fight their attraction, but Luca is determined to make her his.
I like how we get to see a softer side to Luca. To everyone else he comes out as hard but with her he’s different. They are both broken is some ways but together they mend each other. There’s only truth between them but not necessary trust, and that’s what breaks them apart eventually.
I love everything in the book and I didn’t want it to end! I seriously swooned every time Luca spoke to Gretchen in Italian!! This is an amazing book and definitely my favorite for this month!!!
I had heard so much about Truth by Trilina Pucci and knew I wanted to read these books! I am so glad I did!! And now in the follow-up to Truth, Worship, we get Luca King’s story. We first met Luca and Gretchen, our heroine, in the first book and I would recommend starting there first, it is a great read as well.
If you loved Dominic King, Luca King will blow you away. He was sexy, strong and a complete alpha. I loved his character so much! Gretchen was smart and clever and just perfect for Luca. Their attraction has been simmering, but Luca has baggage that makes him off limits. Their journey was not easy, but so worth it from beginning to end.
I absolutely loved Worship by Trilina Pucci. I loved the characters, their story and the forbidden nature of their love. I devoured this story as quickly as I could and cannot wait for the next book.
Read and reviewed for Sultry Sirens Book Blog.
Happy reading!
Worship is the 2nd book in the the Sinful series and a great follow-up to book one. This slow-burn romance was so much more than I expected and totally different from the first novel. This was Luca and Gretchen’s story but we get much more than just romance in this book. We are given friendship, brotherhood and a brief look at the mafia side of the family. This is a story about revenge and doing what’s right.
Luca and Gretchen became friends and I loved the chemistry and connection they had. Watching them become more than just friends was an intense and passionate journey. Luca was possessive, very much alpha and he had a way with words that will make your heart swoon and when he made up his mind to go after Gretchen nothing could dissuade him.Gretchen was feisty, strong and I loved the insightful responses she gave Luca from the start and how she stood up to him as certain points in the novel.
As the story progressed the tension between them became so thick and the chemistry was off the charts. What began as a slightly forbidden story grew into an epic romance. Worship will have you hooked until the very end. You will love every minute of it. This was a fantastic read and I would highly recommend it.
I absolutely adore how Luca is with his young daughter Ella. He always makes time for her, takes her to the park, reads to her, etc. I love how Luca is with his Italian family, he is there for them, just as they’re are there for him. His heart is in the right place for the most part but he wants what he wants and you’d better not stand in his way. Even if it’s you that he wants, you might as well give in because he’s coming.
Luca knows he wants Gretchen but not just as friends but there’s obstacles, so many obstacles. Gretchen knows she shouldn’t get caught up with Luca but he just has this charisma that drew her in. Gretchen could see what others didn’t, could hear what he wasn’t saying. They had a connection that Luca had never had before.
Luca saw everything that he could have but would he be able to get it? When the time came would she trust him when she needed to the most?
If everyone around me could speak Italian, you could bet your butt I’d be taking classes to learn this language! Especially if the man that I love was talking to me in that sexy as sin voice but I couldn’t understand him, yep, yep, yep. A dictionary or google wouldn’t be enough lol
Worship by Trilina Pucci is book 2 in the Sinful Series. This is Luca King and Gretchen Andrews’s story. This was a phenomenal read. Full of angst, heat, drama, passion and romance. I wasn’t sure if book 2 would live up to the excitement and steam of book 1 but it was definitely all that and then some. Without giving any spoilers away, Luca is all alpha and his connection to Gretchen is electrifying. Their relationship is considered taboo but his heart wants what it wants and he is willing to do whatever it takes to make that happen. Gretchen has this sassy and steely personality about her; she didn’t let Luca steamroll her even when he was in his super alpha mode. She had self respect in spades. There are some great emotional moments in this book. The heat level is great and there are moments that had me wondering what would happen next – twists and turn moments for sure. I loved the ending and look forward to the next book and who will be the main characters of book 3.
My Rating: 4.5 stars ******
I have been itching for this book since I first read by Trilina Pucci and she did not let me down. Oh my holy hot hot hot!! Worship was intense and emotional and so stinkin’ sexy.
I adored Gretchen’s sass and strength. She knew who she was and what she would and would not stand for. She was nobody’s fool or doormat and refused to be walked over or on. She wanted her equal. And she found that in Luca. Whew wee Luca. That man is alpha with a capital A. I loved how he went to war for what he believed in. Even if his views were a bit skewed.
I think my favorite thing about this book was how Luca loved Gretchen. Fully. Deeply. Beyond reason. It was all consuming and forced him to reevaluate his priorities. Because that Gretchen laid it down and out for him. She gave him her truth and waited for him to give her his in return. I wanted to hug and high-five her in that moment because she was breaking her own heart.
I will say that I found the ending a tad abrupt. There was a big build up and I wanted more of what all went down. However, Trilina Pucci had me hooked on Gretchen and Luca from start to finish. It was their passion and honesty and how they never held back. Simply put, they were electric and I couldn’t get enough.
Luca is a man set on punishing the woman who took his kindness for weakness. When he falls in love with Gretchen and she wants him to let go of the hurt he struggles. They are both strong willed people but have to learn it’s ok to bend and trust each other. Why was I under the impression that Luca was the good twin, he’s just as sinful as Dominic! This book was hot and a interesting read I definitely recommend!
