Sometimes a surprise baby can lead to unexpected happy endings.***It started one night in Vegas over a naughty cocktail and dirty banter. Eight months of bedded bliss later, Gilly Nelson says the two words Ezra Baker never saw coming:“I’m pregnant.”Twice-divorced Ezra has always acted first, thought it through later. Except in Gilly he finds an equal; a strong-willed, independent woman who … strong-willed, independent woman who doesn’t need his money or kind heart to get ahead. She just wants him.
Career-focused Gilly never imagined she’d be thirty-five, single and pregnant. Except when Ezra suggests they date rather than just mate, she finds herself wondering whether the man she’s been looking for has been in her bed all along.
If they can survive raging hormones, house renovations, and the realities of childbirth, surely creating a family will be a walk in the park…right?

The last book in the Cook Brothers Series and yes I was sad to see this series come to an end but what a way to finish the series, Working For It finished this series off with a bang and Ms Harvey certainly left the best for last.
This is Ezra Baker and Gilly Nelson’s story and their story is one that captivated me from the first page to the last line and I really didn’t want it to end. There is nothing bad to be said about this book it’s everything you could want in a great read, it’s got all the feels and all the emotions as well as adorable characters. Work For It will make you laugh, it will make you smile as you read one of the best romantic comedies of 2020 and let’s be honest with everything going on in the world a book with great feel good factors is just what we need. For me what you turned this book from a great read to an excellent read was the HEA’s we got for every couple featured in this this series and for me this was a perfect book to close the series on. I will be reading this series again and again because it’s become one of my favourite series and I highly recommend this book and this series
This is the last book in the series and boy I am I sad to see it end. I’ve really enjoyed this cast of characters. I’ve been waiting for Ezra and Gilly’s story. The wait was so worth it. It didn’t disappoint. This is a book you will stay up all night to finish. I loved seeing how the previous characters are enjoying their HEAs. That was a big bonus for me. Gilly and Ezra were so cute together. Be prepared to fall for Ezra. He’s going to make you swoon start to finish. This book delivered on everything I wanted; humor, heart, and heat. The epilogue is everything. It was so perfect. I thought wrapped this series up the best way possible.
Ezra and Gilly were all that I hoped for. Loved this story with these two, I still want to be a Cook family member. Ezra has not had the best luck with women, until Gilly. Loved how Gilly was a strong independent woman, and what she wanted she got. Holy has this family ever grown, since the first book, loved how each one found their perfect partner.
Working For It is the final novel in the Cook Brothers Series, and I thought it was so sweet, and wonderfully written. I have liked Erza, the brother from another mama from the very beginning, he was comically, hard working, loyal, and so unlucky in the love department. With both Gillian and Erza being single they were thrown together at the Cook families get togethers. Until they couldn’t deny their attraction. Will it turn into something more? I really enjoyed each and every book in this series.
Working for It is everything!!! You need this book in your life. Ezra and Gilly will have you falling in love with them from the beginning till the end. I need an Ezra in my life. Gilly is amazing as well. I still want more of the Cooks series. This gang will leave in stitches feom the laughter, fall in love with all of them, wanting more and remembering them forever. I can’t wait to read more of BJ’s books.
Another brilliant book about this fantastic extended family. The Cooks and Baker boys are just amazing. And all the bold women that they encounter and fall in love with, making these stories, beautiful, entertaining and completely romantic.
Ezra and Gilly’s start began unbeknownst to us all in a previous book. And that’s how this Vegas hook up turned to a surprise baby. This is a story of a “hook up” turning into one of the most romantic stories I have read.
All though Ezra isn’t new to love, he’s been married twice before but for me, he has never experienced real love. Not like the love he finds with Gilly and ditto on that for Gilly too. We all know that her life growing up was the same as Ronnie’s and they weren’t exactly loved by their family. So this was something lovely and surprising.
I know people won’t like that there isn’t any drama involved. I really think that’s what Ezra and Gilly needed. They needed calm and just peace really. I totally love and recommend this book and series. For me it’s just what this series needed. A whole lot of calm and happiness.
What did I just read??? Seriously this book was soooo sweet and dreamy I was reading it with hearts in my eyes the whole time.
Ezra was just the best man I think I’ve ever read about. He was alpha, protective and knew the woman he has fallen for is his equal and I loved him for that.
Gilly was strong, independent and had a funny-bone. The way they agreed to give their friends with benefits a real shot and then made the effort on both parts to succeed left me feeling so good and happy I could cry – I didn’t don’t worry but it was close
For my fist BJ Harvey book I’m impressed and can’t wait to start reading next book from her.

I loved all the books in the Cook Brothers series and this plus one about Ezra and Gilly is the perfect ending to this series. Ezra could not be more unlucky in love, twice married, twice divorced. Gilly’s parts set a horrible example so marriage is out of the question for her. But when these friends with benefits discover she’s pregnant, they realize how deep their feelings and commitment to each other is. I love the humor, the pace, the steam, the relationship between Ezra and Gilly and the rest of the crew. I loved each and everyone of these books and could not recommend a series more. BJ Harvey has done it again and I can’t wait to see what’s next.
I received an ARC of this book and this is my honest review.
I have thoroughly enjoyed this whole series and recommend you read them all if you haven’t but I am a little saddened that this is the last book. Thank goodness Esparza rated his own book though! Phew!
Gilly or Gillian Nelson and Ezra Baker now have their turn for their story to be told. It’s not the conventional tale of man meets woman, they fall in love, marry, start a family and live happily ever after but it has all of the same emotions and wonderful feelings a fantastic romance has plus the fantastic characters from the Cook family and Baker family.
Thirty-five-year-old Gilly is such a strong, determined woman who’s worked extremely hard to make a partner in her father’s law firm. Being career-focused she is happy in general with her life… enter one thirty-seven-year-old hunk who has been twice divorced (such silly women) an extremely successful architect who is also very happy with his life.
All of the Cook family help to bring laughter and a great sense of humor to the story through their dialogue with fun banter between characters, however, special mention must be made once again about Axel. He steals the show in so many of his scenes in each book and is no different in this one, I absolutely love him and he totally cracks me up.
This is a true romance with two lead characters that have such intense chemistry together, their passion is red hot. I loved this feel-good story that while yes it does deal with everyday, real-life issues, it isn’t high on drama- instead, it’s focus is its genre the romance. A fitting end to this series even though I didn’t want it to end, now why didn’t Marcy have at least eight sons?

I adore everything about this series and I’m so sad to see it end!! Thankfully BJ Harvey heads off the tears by guaranteeing more coming in an adjacent series (where I’m praying the characters will overlap!)
Ezra had my heart ages ago. Twice divorced and the butt of many of the jokes of his beloved, adopted brothers, the Cooks. This wonderfully funny and smart guy has an enormous heart and despite being a two time loser in love, in life he’s all the things the ladies love (especially me!)
Gilly is a fierce lady of the law and sister to our beloved Ronnie. Hooking up with Ezra during their Vegas weekend was the best gamble she’s taken in a long while. It resulted in a very hot, mutually satisfying recurring “bang buddy” situation for the past several months… but despite the advertisements, what happened in Vegas did NOT stay in Vegas.
Gah, Ezra and Gilly were dynamite together!! Irreverent, funny, and incredibly heartfelt as “baby daddy/baby mama”. I also loved catching up with all the Cooks from previous books. This family (biological, marital and adopted) are flipping fantastic! It’s a family I’d love to get a beer (or 5) with!!

I adore this couple. The cover fits them perfectly. A couple just having fun no strings then bam baby on the way. I laughed and got tears in my eyes a few times. I love BJ’s writing it has great depth and so many emotions. I read this story in one sitting it was incredible. I love how all the characters from past books make appearances it gives it a real life feel which I really enjoyed. You need to add this to your TBR it’s that good.
5 fantastic stars!!
BJ Harvey writes rom com’s like no other and as always this story did not disappoint.
This is the last story in the series and what a way to finish with Ezra and Gilly.
You can’t help but fall in love with Ezra! He’s the perfect guy!
Gilly has an inner strength and determination that’s to be admired, she’s not afraid to say what she wants.
This was such a sweet and sexy read and I loved every minute of it! Nothing beats the banter of the Cook brothers and the rest of the gang.
This romantic and extremely witty read brought all the baby feels, banter, chemistry and had me howling with laughter. It was honestly the funniest book I’ve read in a long time and I was hooked on every word!
This is hands down one of my favourite all time series ever!! Loved it!!
Gilly and Ezra started out as just hookups until it became real. Now she is pregnant and Ezra keeps putting his foot in his mouth. Ezra has been through too many bad relationships and know what he wants but not how to get it.
Ooh what a bitter sweet read this was, knowing that this was the last book in the Cook Brothers Series. I must say though that this series definitely ended on a high. Working For It was a wonderfully enjoyable read. I loved that it was light and sweet with no drama and just what I needed to read at this point in time. There was plenty on banter and humour but it had some lovely touching moments too. Ezra and Gilly were a fab couple and let’s hope we see some more from these guys one way or another in the future.
I love this smart and witty romance. This is my first book by this author. This couple was so right for each other. The heroine Gilly gets pregnant accidentally and tells the father Ezra. He has to convince her that they are right for each other. They have the best family and friends. I hate I missed out on the other couples. I will have to go and read them. I laughed a lot and have so many highlighted passages.
Their are some challenging family drama that has to be dealt with. I kind of got annoyed by the baby mama and baby daddy, it’s not cute to me. I enjoyed this book and recommend it to you.
I was excited when I heard Ezra was going to get his own book. There was something about him I felt he was misunderstood and needed his own story so we could get to know him better and B.J.Harvery nailed this one this was my favorite book in the series.
This was a sweet fun read Ezra and Gilly were perfect for each other and the story just made me smile. It gave me just enough emotional angsty but didn’t leave me wanting to throw my tablet. All Ez really ever wanted was to find the right woman and be loved.
First off, just know that not only is Ezra mine but this book is my favorite in this well-written, witty and touching series. BJ Harvey continues to up her game with this unexpected romance between two very strong-willed characters.
Never knowing just who Ezra Baker would end up with, I was happily surprised that one Gillian Nelson would be the one who would finally tame his uneasy ways. From their wild first night in Vegas, I loved that they were able to keep their laid-back relationship a secret from this extremely nosy yet very loving crew that are both close friends and family.
The love is there even when Ezra and Gilly wanted to ignore it. Sure they are committed to the baby they are now having but both are hesitant to cross that line and ruin the good thing they currently have. Watching as the well-coiffed and tough as nails Gilly succumb to the charm and true affection Ez has for his baby mama is what makes this story so sigh-worthy. That no matter what, she knows he’s got her back and he knows she is there for the long haul.
The mutual respect that Ezra and Gilly have for one another is truly beautiful as they navigate through these crazy waters as expectant parents. There is a devotion that is addictive, as has been with each of the prior books, each couple in it forever with that person who was made for them.
There are family issues that give this book a bit of intensity and gives yet another opportunity for both Gilly and Ezra to shine. But with the motley crew that includes blood relatives and the most incredible friends you could ever want (who are also family by marriage…yeah this is one incestuous group!) Gilly and Ezra have all they need for the new family they inevitably will become.
When you’re looking for a rom-com that gives you all the feels and more, look no further than BJ Harvey. Each book is this series is full of love, laughter and a loyalty that is unmatched. I just adore these characters and the happiness they ultimately find when they least expect it. Together with this unorthodox kind of family and friends dynamic, this story is pure joy.
5 stars!
Gotta love this series, and the books just keep entertaining with witty banter all the boys and their wives back again is nothing but chaos and fun! Ezra and Gilly are an amazing couple… Ezra the brother from another mother will make you SWOON! Baby daddy is all about making Gilly see he is more than just his two ex wives, he’s caring, considerate, romantic and everything Gilly needs but she never really took the time to notice that he was what she wanted. GAH this was such a fun, fabulous look into the world of the Cook brothers and their families, their lives, loves and lots of babies and baby mamma drama… never a dull moment with this group! Strap in and enjoy the ride, you won’t be disappointed.

ARC kindly received in exchange for an honest review.
Oh man, I think this might just be my favourite book in this series. Ez, oh Ez. He’s just so damned adorable and sweet and supportive, and *sigh*
I loved going on this journey with Ez and Gilly, and experiencing them getting to know each other even further, and love the little baby on the way. They’re perfect mix of fun and supportive and sweet and sexy, and I thoroughly enjoyed every moment.
I loved how we got all our fave characters from the previous books, with all their quirky and hilarious qualities as well.
Loved this one, a great end to the series, and would love to see more of the whole gang in the future.
Highly recommend.
I have had an absolute ball reading this series, and BJ has saved the best (well second best because no one will knock Jax off of his pedestal) till last.
Ezra Baker (brother to Faith, and best friend of Jamie Cook) and Gilly Nelson (sister of Ronnie) end up in a friends with AWESOME benefits arrangement and are fine with things as they are, right up until the pee stick changes everything.
Now they need to work out if it was all just fun and games or if there is the potential for more, so much more.
I wish this series could just keep going, but it can’t.
Hopefully the gang will turn up in another series, but until then farewell my friends. I shall miss you all.
