Ronnie Nelson likes to be chased.Jaxon Cook loves a challenge.Ronnie wants a man who pulls out all the stops.Jax doesn’t stop until he gets what he wants.Seems like a match made in heaven. Until an unexpected development—of the ‘call me Professor Cook’ variety—makes their attraction-and what they did last Saturday night-a lot more forbidden. Now, committing a work violation has become a forgone … a work violation has become a forgone conclusion and the chase just became a lot more complicated.
Lucky for Ronnie, Jax loves breaking the rules.
Lucky for Jax, Ronnie does too.

All I have to say is that once we have the Cook brothers and Ezra completed we need a next gen story cause Axel is the star. This kid is amazing and will keep you laughing no matter what.
Student hot for Teacher even before she becomes the student. These two characters are stubborn but perfect for each other. To have the trust and patience even when the other does something or says something that could be considered a violation is truly beautiful see play out.
Work Violation is the second book in the Cook County Series. I enjoyed this romantic, comical story. It is a nice and easy read with laugh out loud moments. Jax and Ronnie have been tiptoeing around eachother since they met. Ronnie is so fiesty, she is April’s bestie, who’s going to be Jax’s future sister in law. Jax is so dreamy, and sweet. I thought Jax and Ronnie were so good together, and the perfect Ken and Barbie. I laughed and smiled alot with their back and forth banter. I liked the secondary characters too, all the family feels. Looking forward to the next book in this series.
Jax and Ronnie were meant to be together. He has avoided her the last year and now she is a student in his class. They must work around the student teacher issue while their chemistry is mind blowing. The way they work through the crazies of their family to build a strong relationship is funny and sad. Good addition to series.
Yessss! I have been waiting for Ronnie’s book since I read Work In Progress, and Ms Harvey has not disappointed with with Work Violation.
She has given me my perfect rom-com. Lots of the rom between Ronnie and Jax, and heavy on the com from everyone else.
I also liked that Work Violation was light on the angst and the drama. Our lovelies were big on the communication, so there were not silly misunderstanding that make the reader roll their eyes.
Ronnie is just one of those characters that you can’t help but adore. She is sassy, she is funny, and she is a woman who goes after what she wants.
And I need to know where I can find my own Jax He is smart, sexy, artistic, good with his hands
After a long time of knowing each other, it is a treat to fall in love with them as they get to “know” each other, and I fell in love with them before they fell for each other.
There is an almost 8 year old Axel who stole my heart in the first book, and now makes me want one of him for myself (and I am the least maternal woman on the planet lol).
I love how close knit the Cook family is, and their extended family is wonderful.
There is set up for the next book in this series, so please don’t keep me waiting too long Ms Harvey!
I loved, loved, loved Jax and Ronnie’s story. Ronnie was a woman on a mission, a mission to live her life her way doing what she loved. Jax was a man that wanted a woman, one in particular that kept him guessing. Their story was sexy, fun, witty and so damn swoon-worthy that I wanted Jax for myself! With each book in this series I fall more in love with this family and their antics. I’m looking forward to the next book and the next brother to fall head over heels in love.
*5 Stars*
ARC kindly received in exchange for an honest review.
I was excited for Ronnie’s book because of our introduction to her in Work in Progress, and I was definitely not disappointed with this one. Ronnie is a one-of-a-kind, fun yet caring and sensitive character, and I loved getting to know her throughout this book.
Jax is a fantastic hero in this one too. He’s funny, sexy, swoon-worthy, respectful – need I go on? I love, love, loved the respect he had for Ronnie all throughout this book. There are many different situations in which he shows that to her, and I loved each and every one.
We get our favourite almost eight year old back, with Ax, and of course the rest of the Cook family is there, along with April and Betty. We get a new introduction in this one in the form of Ronnie’s sister, and I do believe there’s a possible set up for a future book in here with her as well. Yay!
I love this family of friends and relatives, and the banter between them all is so much fun. These characters are instantly loveable and I love being part of this world.
Whilst Ronnie and Jax are getting to know each other, we’re falling in love with this fun and feisty couple. Of course there are some ups and downs, but nothing is overly drawn out, and the communication between our characters is great. I love when that occurs in a book, and BJ has done a great job with it in this.
I look forward to the next book in this series, again, I think we saw a little bit of set up in this for it. I just love the Cook brothers, and I can’t wait for more! Highly recommend.
Work Violation is the second book in the Cook County series and Jax and Ronnie will literally own you heart and soul. Their story will take you on a roller coaster of emotions. You will swing from rolling around on the floor laughing to swoon worthy moments that will have you weak in the knees and your heart so full. Jax and Ronnie have chemistry, spark and a passion so raw that the heat will radiate off the pages and will be felt right down to your toes. This book is one of those that is heart-warming, uplifting and also so full of love. Jax and Ronnie will leave you with a glow that will not diminish anytime soon.
Jax and Ronnie, not even sure what to say about these two, besides how much I loved them. Especially Jax, wow is he ever swoon worthy book bf material. From jumping in naked first and slowing it right down, these two had me giggling all the way thru. Can’t wait for more of the Cook brothers.

BJ Harvey never fails to give her readers a fun and truly entertaining romantic comedy story!!! I have absolutely LOVED every book she has written and Work Violation was no different. I loved Jax and Ronnie’s story and just them as characters!!
I truly believe this series is BJ Harvey at her finest. Yes she can write a great angsty, drama filled story, but I LOVE her romantic comedies. The banter between the characters always has me laughing out loud. These stories are fun, flirty, sexy and just overall easy to read and enjoy.
Work Violation is the second book in the Cook County Series. I truly thought this was a GREAT addition to this already great series. This series is a spin off of her Game Series, but you don’t have to read that series to fully enjoy this series. We just get some cameos from that series to add some extra greatness to these stories.
Each book in this series is a standalone novel. Work Violation, like I said , is the second book in this series. It is told in Dual POV. I thought this book was filled with humor and love. I absolutely loved the banter and connection between Jax and Ronnie. This is kind of a slow burn, but it totally worked for them. It was fun watching these two open up to each other. I thought the pace and flow of the story worked well.
In this book we follow Jax and Ronnie. Jax is one of the Cook twins and is a fun loving easy going guy and he has his sights set on Ronnie. But he is also worried about starting anything with her because she is April’s BFF. He doesn’t want to rock the boat between April and Jamie (his older brother & Hero from Work in Progress Book 1) if something would go wrong. Ronnie on the other hand, has also had the hots for Jax for awhile and is sick of waiting for him to make a move. So she takes things into her own hands and seduces him. Little did she know that from that moment on her life would never be the same. I truly loved Jax and Ronnie together. They are a match made in heaven, they truly compliment each other. This is one couple you are really going to want to meet!!!
I was so happy to get to know the Cook brothers a little better in this story. And I loved that we got more of Jamie, April and Axel. Axel stole my heart in Book 1 and he just strengthened that bond in this book. I still absolutely adore that little boy. I look forward to the other books in this series.
BJ Harvey is and will always be one of my All Time Favorite authors. I will read anything she writes. Her stories always captivate me and are truly entertaining reads. Her’s are books I know will be read over and over again. If you haven’t had the pleasure of reading her books yet, what are you waiting for?? Pick up the Cook County Series and then sit back and enjoy the journey that her books take you on. You won’t be sorry!!!!
OMG…Love, love, love this funny, emotional, witty, wring your heart out, romance. BJ has outdone herself with this one. I laughed so hard with these 2, could feel how they were falling and thoroughly enjoyed the ride. To have each other’s back…what more could you ask for.
