Ronnie Nelson likes to be chased.Jaxon Cook loves a challenge.Ronnie wants a man who pulls out all the stops.Jax doesn’t stop until he gets what he wants.Seems like a match made in heaven. Until an unexpected development—of the ‘call me Professor Cook’ variety—makes their attraction-and what they did last Saturday night-a lot more forbidden. Now, committing a work violation has become a forgone … work violation has become a forgone conclusion and the chase just became a lot more complicated.
Lucky for Ronnie, Jax loves breaking the rules.
Lucky for Jax, Ronnie does too.

So much to love about Work Violation! BJ Harvey continues the laughs and the swoons in her newest book in the Cook County series.
Jax has had a thing for Ronnie since they met a year ago but thought he’d kept it on the DL. Funny thing though, everyone knows and wonders why he doesn’t pull the trigger! Ronnie, who is just as enamored with him, decides to take matters in her own hands (hysterical reference to a part of the book you’ll laugh out loud at!) and the two come together like a match to gasoline. But with Jax as the newest adjunct professor and the lovely Veronica as his newest student, lines begin to blur quickly. Is the prospect of a new relationship worth the risk?
I adored Jax and Ronnie in the first book Work In Progress (if you haven’t read it, you should totally get on that!) and fell even deeper in love in this book. Jax is the perfect book boyfriend, respectful, hilarious, and sexy as all get out. The confident, funny and flirty, Ronnie compliments him perfectly. The family/friend are the absolute best and no one is cuter than the 8 year old in these stories!! Can’t wait for the next installment!!

This is book 2 if the Cook Brothers, Ronnie & Jax story. They are perfect together in this laugh out loud book. Can’t wait for the next book. I recommend this book and the 1st book.
I don’t know how she does this!! How does BJ Harvey write such engaging, hilarious, compassionate, sexy couples you wish were your neighbors so you could hang out together. I though Jamie and April in Work in Progress were pretty darn perfect, but Jax and Ronnie blew me away. BJ draws characters with depth, humor, loyalty, and such sexiness, you can really become apart of their world. The Cook Brothers and their extended family have a lot of great stories ahead. Love this series!!
****I received an ARC and this is my honest review****
I am enjoying this series. Here, Jax and Ronnie have steam together but must hold back because of circumstances. The humor in all the interactions between characters was great. I love how the humor was offset by the true emotions the characters felt. It touched my heart.
I received a copy of this story through Enticing Journey Book Promotions, and this is my unsolicited review.
4.5 Stars
I loved the first book in this series and I loved this one just as much. If you want a book you can easily get lost in then look no further. I just loved the sense of humor of this book. I laughed and chuckled through out the book. It also packs in the heat and the feels. Jax and Ronnie instantly capture you and you root for them from start to finish. This is one boo you don’t want to pass up on. I can tell you I’m already eagerly anticipating the next book in the series.
Work Violation delivered!! Not that BJ Harvey doesn’t deliver every frikking time, but I have to say this series seems more!! When I read book 1 in this series, Work in Progress, I said this series was gonna rock and I was RIGHT!! 🙂
These two had glorious spark and tension between them. They’ve been avoiding themselves for quite a while so when they just couldn’t any longer, BAM! And let’s not forget the fabulous voice that BJ brings to her books! The humor and low drama is really what hooked me from page one. The rest was gravy! I still have a huge smile on my face over Ronnie and Jax’s journey and I can’t wait to read what BJ has in store for Faith and Bryant!
This is the 2nd book in this awesome series, and in my opinion, this is the best work to date from this gifted author. Jax is a professor during the day, and part of a team for flipping houses by night. Ronnie is his future sister-in-laws best friend, and one of his students. This is a beautifully written story which is steamy, humorous, and with plenty of witty banter. I was captivated throughout this addictive page turner, and highly recommend for all rom-com lovers; you will certainly not be disappointed!
4.5 Stars for Work Violation which is book 2 in the Cook County Series.
This author is one of the best around when it comes to romantic comedy and this book was everything I expected, the banter is hilarious and the characters are loveable.
Jax is part time professor and a part time house flipper and he is about to have his world turned upside down by Ronnie who happens to be the best friend of his future sister in law. It takes a while for these two to get together they have danced around their feelings for more than a year because of the teacher/ student situation they find themselves in but once they decide to take the leap boy do they get down and dirty !!!!
This book is hilarious, it has the perfect mix of love, passion and humour and it’s a great addition to the series. I love the characters in this series, I love the banter they share and I can’t wait for book 3 in this series of stand-alone books about the Cook family and their friends.
BJ Harvey knows how to write a smokin’ hot rom-com. Her writing is humorous and steamy and the characters grip you from beginning to end. Work Violation was just as funny as the first book in the series, Work in Progress. There is low angst/drama in these books and I find that to be a nice change of pace. Ronnie is adorable and quirky and Jax is sexy and gorgeous. He teaches photography and is passionate about his work. I enjoyed Jax and Ronnie so much. Their connection and banter was the best. Ronnie’s parents were awful to her and no one deserved an HEA with a Cook brother more than she did after growing up with parents like that. The way Jax stood up for her and they way he protects her was so perfect and totally swoon worthy. The Cook family are close knit family who live to give each other a hard time but deep down they are a protective bunch who have each other’s backs. Can’t wait for Bryant’s story next in Working Back.
This book is funny, and sweet and all the things a good romance book should be. I really enjoyed it!
Winner number two, right here! Once again, BJ has written an amazing book! Jax and Ronnie have circled each other for a year. The time has come to begin the chase! Jax wants her forever, now he just has to make sure she knows it. Ronnie has finally found herself, now she’s got Jax where she wants him too. I loved this story as much as the first. This group of characters is hilarious, sexy and down right amazing! Check out this series, you will NOT be disappointed!
Once again BJ. Harvey does not disappoint, if you are familiar with her work you know she writes addictive Rom Coms that are just the perfect combination not too much rom but lots of the com… if you are new to her i highly recommend that you go check out all her books, I promise you will not be disappointed.
Work Violation is book 2 in BJ Harvey’s Cook Brothers series, which can all be read as standalones, but to get the full scope of the wonderful characters that are in this world I recommend reading book 1 Work In Progress first.
I couldn’t wait to read Jaxon and Ronnie’s story after meeting the both in ‘WIP’. You tell there was an attraction between them and I could not wait to see how their story would play out. The banter, tension, romance, humour, steam, swoon and surprises had me on the edge of my seat.
Jaxon Cook is one of the twin Cook brothers who is a part time professor, and helps with his brothers construction business. He is sexy, smart and artistic. Ronnie is April’s best friend who has just left her lawyer career to follow her dream. She is sassy and funny.
BJ has done such a fantabulous job with these characters and world that I wish I could live next door to the Big Pink Barbie House… I think that this may just have to be one of the most enjoyable romcoms that I have read in a while. These two characters just clicked so well together, they didn’t waste any time by beating around the bush, the talked and had no misunderstandings between them.
Also can I just give a mention to the rest of the Cook family and of course the almost 8 year old Axel… I just love these people sooo much. Thank you BJ for giving us these characters and can’t wait to see what you have next for us all.
Jax has been attracted to Ronnie since he met her at April’s house over a year ago but he continues to “run away” from her and their attraction because he didn’t want to ruin anything for his brother Jamie and his fiancee April. Ronnie happens to be April’s best friend!
On the night of Jamie and April’s engagement party, Ronnie finally holds Jax’s attention and they act on their attraction. Afterwards, when Jax’s mom walks in on Ronnie, it is so funny what his mother says to her.
Jax had decided to teach a college course on photography while he helps Jamie with the house flipping business. Jax is living in the “pink house” while they are flipping it so there were plenty of jokes about the house and it being Barbie’s dream house and Ken and GI Joe! The first day of class, Jax is shocked to find out that Ronnie is in his class. He also realizes that they might be in conflict with the school’s no fratranization policy but is surprised that Ronnie has already addressed with the school. Jax realizes that there’s more to Ronnie than meets the eye and wants to get to know her better. He goes about it in the sweetest and most romantic way. He wants to get to know Ronnie and doesn’t want to get physical until he “earns” it. Ronnie wants him to pursue her so that he has to earn her. The chemistry between the two of them are out of this world.
When Jax finally admits to Jamie that he is seeing Ronnie, he is scared of what Jamie will say but since they are Cook’s, they all support each other. There is of course a lot of jokes and teasing about Jax having to earn Ronnie and the Cook brothers love to rib each other about things. As Jax and Ronnies’ relationship is getting more serious, someone wants to sabotage Ronnie and Jax’s relationship. Jax realizes that he will do anything to protect Ronnie and make sure she achieves her goals.
I love how cute Jax and Ronnie are together and how they want to work on getting to know each other first even though they both want to get physical. Having the support of their friends and Jax’ family helps them move along in the relationship and once Jax figures Ronnie out, he realizes what a jewel she is and wants to make sure she is with him for the long term.

Not my first read by author & I have loved every single book she put out! I also have read book 1 from this series so I was ready for this one!!
This story starts off with a bang…haha pun fully intended! [you’ll see] freaking loved the beginning. Ronnie [Veronica] is a bomb heroine, and the twin Jax haha found his match! Basically let’s just say that a silent communication done right, ends up ENDING wrong but funny…but still a little wrong!
So after the incident, not only is Jax shocked to find Ronnie where he currently is BUT also that her full name is Veronica! *face palm* on his end! From that moment on, boy that chemistry and the way these two are around each other…freaking SIZZLING EXPLOSIVE HOT! Even when both agree to “go slow”….I’ll let your mind wander there….
I am forewarning you right now, this has a PROFESSOR & STUDENT touch with both being fully adults that is, but haha the sexy times makes it so much hotter. Both Jax and Ronnie really have this amazing chemistry in and out of the bedroom…they seem to understand each other. So, Ronnie is basically taking back control of her life while Jax spend a year trying to avoid her, for his own reasons.
So when Barbie & Ken decide to give it a go…explosion…in good and bad ways of course! There is so much that factors in not to mention control, secrets and action. The soft spot Ronnie shows to Jax is simply beautiful, this outgoing always loud and fun woman that gives a little of her sweet to the man she has had a crush on for a year…you’ll see, very sweet! But god when Jax stands up for her at her parent’s dinner…OFFICIALLY IN LOVE WITH JAX FOREVER!! p.s. I also would take his photography class ANY-DAY! That shared interest i mentioned earlier….A R T! [Which comes in a lot of forms]
Really fun story to read, the characters compliment each other well, the story line fits and the transitions are smooth! ABSOLUTELY LOVED THIS READ!

This book gives me all the feels. This is the second book in the series. It’s Jaxon (Jaime’s brother) and Ronnie ( April’s best friend). Another Funny, sexy emotional story. Jaxon has been obsessing over Ronnie since they first met but has been keeping his distance since she is his brother’s fiancee’s best friend. Ronnie has liked Jaxon from the day they met too and tries to come up with a plan to get him. When these two hook up it is hot and funny. Then Jaxon finds out Ronnie is one of his students. I loved this story. The banter between these characters is very entertaining. The Vegas trip was funny and emotional. It has me laughing and crying. Plus Axel ( April’s son) is so damn cute, funny and adorable. Can’t wait for more.
I won an ARC and volunteered to leave a review.
To start off all I can say what a fantastic series.
I found in this book I was laughing out loud quite
a bit. Jax and Ronnie’s has great chemistry between them.
There relationship will draw you in a leave a smile on your face.
I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.
4.5 stars
I really loved this story and I completely fell in love with Ronnie and Jax as I read the story that unfolded around the romance, that had been in the making for over a year. They were avoiding each other but it just built and fueled the intensity, when they could no longer stay away.
This book is filled with so much laughs and banter that the small part that is quite serious doesn’t really take the shine off of the fun. Although I did shed a little tear in parts. But that’s as far as I can really explain. I hate spoilers and by saying more would ruin the whole thing.
This book evokes a wide variety of emotions. It’s also shows that family isn’t always about blood. It’s about making a difference and standing up for someone, having their back, just by being there and holding their hand.
This is a fantastic, sexy, fun and filled with love book, series and author. BJ Harvey always seems to bring out a good mood within me. It’s a total recommend from me.
That was a super fun read Delicious to the end!!
I loved Jax he is sweet and honest and handsome, and his wooing made me insta swoon.
Ronnie is hilarious and I loved her ambition and her courage.
As a couple there are so many sparks and such chemistry.
I really loved the slower courtship of the two and how close they became throughout the journey.
The side characters are a hoot and a half and I cannot wait for their stories.
All up an easy to read, swoon worthy romance with everything and a little more. Cannot wait till the next installment!!!!
Work Violation was a good book it is the second one in the series and can be read as a standalone you’ll run into characters from the previous books and I can’t wait to read more in this series . The 2nd Cook County novel by BJ Harvey, Work Violation, was an absolutely amazing read. I knew from Work in Progress that Ronnie’s story was going to be fantastic and im glad I was right.
First… sigh… JAX. That guy is amazingly sexy on paper (or Kindle, choose your poison) and add in that he’s Ronnie’s new photog professor is just priceless.
Second – I loved both of their character developments. Ronnie and Jax together just about made me swoon!!
Great read!! Don’t miss this series!!
