Brandon Sanderson’s The Stormlight Archive sequence began in 2010 with the New York Times bestseller The Way of Kings. Now, the eagerly anticipated Words of Radiance continues the epic story and answers many of your questions.Six years ago, the Assassin in White, a hireling of the inscrutable Parshendi, assassinated the Alethi king on the very night a treaty between men and Parshendi was being … between men and Parshendi was being celebrated. So began the Vengeance Pact among the highprinces of Alethkar and the War of Reckoning against the Parshendi.
Now the Assassin is active again, murdering rulers all over the world of Roshar, using his baffling powers to thwart every bodyguard and elude all pursuers. Among his prime targets is Highprince Dalinar, widely considered the power behind the Alethi throne. His leading role in the war would seem reason enough, but the Assassin’s master has much deeper motives.
Expected by his enemies to die the miserable death of a military slave, Kaladin survived to be given command of the royal bodyguards, a controversial first for a low-status “darkeyes.” Now he must protect the king and Dalinar from every common peril as well as the distinctly uncommon threat of the Assassin, all while secretly struggling to master remarkable new powers that are somehow linked to his honorspren, Syl.
Brilliant but troubled Shallan strives along a parallel path. Despite being broken in ways she refuses to acknowledge, she bears a terrible burden: to somehow prevent the return of the legendary Voidbringers and the civilization-ending Desolation that will follow. The secrets she needs can be found at the Shattered Plains, but just arriving there proves more difficult than she could have imagined.
Meanwhile, at the heart of the Shattered Plains, the Parshendi are making an epochal decision. Hard pressed by years of Alethi attacks, their numbers ever shrinking, they are convinced by their war leader, Eshonai, to risk everything on a desperate gamble with the very supernatural forces they once fled. The possible consequences for Parshendi and humans alike, indeed, for Roshar itself, are as dangerous as they are incalculable.

Stayed up into the wee hours of the night finishing this one. Is anyone else into the Stormlight Archives series? I’ve absolutely fallen in love with the characters! Also, I have always admired the way that Sanderson builds imaginative worlds that still have the “feel” of classic high fantasy, while introducing new concepts and systems. …
Words of Radiance If you like strong character development, and thousands of pages doesn’t scare you, Brandon Sanderson’s Stormlight Archive is the series for you.
Simply one of the best books I’ve ever read. Sanderson is quite awesome.

Mostly-Non Spoiler – Review of Brandon Sanderson’s “Words of Radiance” Book 2 of The Stormlight Archive.
Not an easy Read — But Worth it!

Sanderson’s talent is unparalleled. His worldbuilding and character development are beautifully immersive. If you are looking for an excellent high fantasy series, then read The Stormlight Archive.
Sanderson’s second installment of The Stormlight Archives is a winner. He is a true master at intricate epic fantasies. This second book, Words of Radiance, is as enthralling as book one, The Way of Kings. Sanderson’s writing style is original and elaborate as he tells the story through multiple points of view. The plot is vibrant, with a lot …
Brandon Sanderson is a master story-teller. His characters are complex, and the story-line is well crafted, woven like a fine tapestry.
As good as it gets.
As always, I love Brandon Sanderson’s books. I love the worlds that he builds. I love his character development from the main characters all the way down to the “unimportant” side characters, although I don’t think he ever has unimportant ones. I love the adventure and the imagery. I can’t say enough good things about this book. For not being a …
Better than the first book, Words of Radiance is everything that Wheel of Time is without dragging. I loved this book and I’m trying to slow down with the Oathbringer because book 4 doesn’t come out until November…but I have to see what happens….Don’t miss this series if you are a devote and faithful fantasy lover.
Brilliant!!!
This series is the best fantasy series of the decade, bar none. If you have even passing fancy in fantasy, you must give this series a try.
This second book in the series gets a little long in the tooth for me. Sanderson has created such a big world, it’s hard to understand how all the pieces fit together, so I got a little bored with chapters that weren’t about the heroes. Still worth the read.
This series is one of my favorites from Brandon Sanderson
What do you say about this book, great world building and enigmatic characters. Concepts that are out of the box, a fun read that’s hard to put down and then you get a little free time and you can read it again. A real treasure from Sanderson.
Great series! Definitely a hero’s journey. A bit predictable, but the journey makes for some riveting reading. On to the next… I’m so happy I didn’t have to wait years between books and I can binge read the series now.
Loved this book!
Sanderson has a way of dreaming up fantastic worlds. Love his characters!
There are no words for me to explain everything this book means to me, this can be a very big book, but don’t get fooled, reading it is so easy because it’s a page turner.
In this book you’ll learn more about the knights radiant, the void bringers and of course the sprens.
Shallan, Dalinar, Kaladin and even Adolin are growing as characters and …
