I love Gil Paul as a writer and I believe this was the third book of hers I read. She is a wonderful story teller and the use of history is genius. You will not be disappointed in this story, it is so well told and it has all the intrigue, mystery and adventure any good novel should have. Highly recommended!
I loved this book, kept me up late several nights!
Even though it’s a novel, it’s based on the true event of the Titanic sinking. Can never get enough on that subject. The characters were all interesting and the story line good. I enjoyed it.
I loved this book. Fictional account of the Titanic sinking. I had a hard time putting it down and was disappointed when it ended. Not disappointed in the ending. Just disappointed that I was done.
I couldn’t put this book down. The lives of four major characters are intertwined by the tragic sinking of the Titanic and its devastating consequences.
Good character development both before the tragedy and the aftermath.
The book sank halfway through. The characters and their actions were somewhat believable at first but their post-rescue stories seemed a bit unrealistic and their personalities one-dimensional. Throughout the book the author also mixed the names of actual passengers with her fictional characters and by the time I got to the Epilogue I was totally confused, as it sounded as though the characters in the story had been based on actual passengers. The relationship between fact and fiction was later explained, but by that time no further explanation could have salvaged the experience or time invested in the reading of this book.
I read everything I can find on the Titanic. I really liked the way it was brought to life, it was almost like being there.
I love historical fiction books and this one was great. Descriptions of the sinking of the Titanic were so realistic. Loved the way the story followed the survivors.
I highly recommend this book.
I am a big fan of Gill Paul’s novels
Story based on cast of characters who were on the Titanic, some who survived and some who did not and of some of the survivor’s decisions made after survival. One main character in particular, Reg, who was a ship steward whose life intertwined with other passengers who survived. Book was well written.
It was OK.
Nice perspective on life after Titanic. Simple insight in life in 1914.
Loved this book . the story of Diana and Wallis Simpson. You get to see another side of the story. It was fascinating and well written. Gill Paul is one of my favorite authors.
This book was incredibly easy to read, and the short chapters at the beginning really help you adjust to each character and their personal view. I loved every character and became engrossed in each storyline. I found this book did justice to the historical event, but also gave readers an avenue to form their own connections to the fictional characters. Would completely recommend, AMAZING read.
Don’t put it down. It is that good.
Loved it. Could not put it down.
This book was very entertaining, loved the characters.
I like the way this book is written – separate people’s lives brought together and changed forever by the tragedy that was Titanic. The characters were well developed, the fictional story interesting, very good illustration of how the sinking effected them, a very solid read.
I love historical fiction and this book hit the mark. Everyone knows the Titanic story, but the fictional characters in this book held my attention throughout. I would highly recommend reading this book!
