I read all six as individual books, but the Bundle is the way to go. Just be sure to read the FIRST five books first Womby’s School for Wayward Witches Series Books 1-5: Not-So-Cozy Witch Mysteries (Womby’s School for Wayward Witches Series Bundle Book 1), so you get the full impact of this bundle. By the way, there is another eight or so books in this series, plus numerous spin-offs if you didn’t get enough of Clarissa, Thatch, Vega, Lucifer, Wombys, the Raven Court and the Silver Court.
Books 6-10 are getting too adult for young readers. There is lots of sex along with magic and misadventures galore.
OK, first off, while this is a wonderful series about a young woman discovering she is a witch and her biological mother was the most power witch whoever lived, it is not for kids! Someone reviewed this series and called it erotica. That is not the case. You will find more detail in most of the romance best sellers, but it frequently would loose a PG rating . . . call it barely an R. It was a fun series that came close to a very happy ending, but in all wars, some of the heroes don’t make it. I refuse to review everyone of these books, I choose to give a thumbs up on the whole.
Wombys School for WAYWARD WITCHES by Sarina Dorie is the BEST series I have read in a long time. Throughout the 18 books, you will fall in love with the characters, the school, unicorns and even the 8ft tall sasquatch, Pinky!!
The main Character is Clarissa Lawrence, she always wanted to believe magic was real. And real strange things have always happened in her life growing up. She accidentally causes a tornado and it falls on her older sister, also a witch, and kills her and her boyfriend derrik.
Clarissa always wanted to be an art teacher, and she does. But as usual, unusual things happen when she’s around. Like a room full of obnoxious grade 7 kids turn into toads and when trying to teach sex ed, the bananas being used to show how a condom is used turn into dancing plastic penises. After that she gets fired, but it was the best thing to happen in her life, so far 😉
She gets a letter asking to teach at a school called Wombys School for wayward students. Once she arrives, her life as she knew it changes forever. She was RIGHT. Magic DOES exist!! Wombys is a high school for wayward witches. She is the new art teacher. She has NO idea how to use her magic. One time she was “pleasuring herself” and rainbows literally shot out her vagina. Needless to say, she had a LOT to learn.
I could go on and on about how AWSOME this series is (did I mention the are spinoff books about the characters!?) Like Vega, her ghoul (litterally) of a roommate that is a beautiful, but with kind of evil witch vibes. And Felix Thatch, Clarissas magic mentor and crush. Prince Elric of the Fae silver court. Fae aren’t the nice faires like we think! Josie the Jorogumo that can turn into a HUGE scary, people eating spider. To MANY MANY more. So many I can’t even write about them all.
This series has it all, Witches (or within as they prefer to be called) Fae, princess, princess, Kings and queens both evil and nice. A Djinn teleased from his lamp, but bound to the school. Ghosts and a pit of hands tjat can help or hinder. Clarissas mom and cat Lucy (they have thier own spin off series) Satyrs, Mermaids. Baba Yaga and baba Nata. References to pop culture, other books and more. There is Love, loss, battles and all while trying to teach Art. Made harder by evil ex boyfriends trying to blow up the school with a giant, steampunk airship or drain her for her magic.
All the characters are complex. The story flows very well, parts will shock you, make you lol and cry. Sarina Dorie is a wonderful author. This series is NOT for children.
She says she got her inspiration from Harry potter, and wondering what it would be like to teach at a magic school. I personally like Wombys better than Harry Potter, and I LOVE Harry Potter!!! If you loved the wizardingworld of Harry potter, I GUARANTEE you will LOOOOOOVE Wombys more. It’s Harry potter for adults 😉
Once you start reading them you won’t stop!! And there are still new books coming out about the characters 🙂 I want to live in the unseen realm, and meet Fae (don’t eat their food or your soul is theirs, fae are evil and very sneaky) I want to ride a unicorn (they only like virgins fyi)
Read these books!! Go. Now. Go read!!!
A grown up series for Harry Potter fans, definitely not for children.
I enjoyed reading this series, from book one the author starts creating a magical world. I highly recommend beginning with book one so that you do not miss any nuances.
I love this series! The characters are great. There is so much adventure and action that you never know what is going to happen. The series just keeps getting better with each book. I highly recommend this series!
