From bestselling author Camille Pagán comes a hilarious and hopeful story about a woman on the verge of a nervous breakthrough. At fifty-three, Maggie Harris has a good marriage and two mostly happy children. Perpetually anxious, she’s also accumulated a list of semi-reasonable fears: falling air conditioners, the IRS, identity theft, skydiving, and airbag recalls. But never once did Maggie worry … did Maggie worry that her husband of nearly thirty years would leave her.
On the day Adam walks out the door, everything that makes Maggie secure goes with him. Only then does she realize that while she’s been busy caring for everyone else, she’s become invisible to the world—and to herself.
Maggie cautiously begins to rebuild her life with a trip to Rome, a new career, and even a rebound romance. But when a fresh crisis strikes and an uncertain future looms, she must decide: How much will she risk to remain the woman she’s just become?

This is a beautiful story of family, love, and heartbreak. Maggie is 53 years old and married with 2 children. She thinks her life is perfect. Out of the blue her husband asks for a divorce as he has been having an affair. Maggie’s whole life is destroyed! She realizes she has lost herself always caring for her husband and children and needs to find herself again. I loved Maggie. She is such a strong woman and I found myself cheering for her as she found herself and her strength again. I received an advance reader copy of this book and all opinions are my own.
“I once read that the recipe for a good life had but three ingredients: something to do, someone to love, and something to look forward to.”
Maggie at 54 years old, has been told by her husband that Adam doesn’t love her any longer and wants a divorce. What’s she supposed to do? She doesn’t work and she still loves Adam. How can she go on?
Maggie needs to pick herself up and move forward and this is a delightful story about just that.
It is not all love and light. The feelings of being lost, ashamed and determined to find herself as the book enfolds tell it in a way that will catch your heart.
I was so proud of Maggie and kept thinking “what would I do if handed this scenario.
“Remember– there’s still time.”
