FAQs about Wolves of Wisteria:
I’ve read the Wisteria Witches series by Angela Pepper. I see this book is called City Hall #1. Where does this fit in? And who’s Zinnia?
Zinnia Riddle is the character you’ve come to know and love in the other books as Aunt Zinnia. This is Zinnia’s first book as the featured character. The events in Wolves of Wisteria take place in the months leading up to Zinnia’s niece Zara arriving in Wisteria. You can think of this book as a prequel, or a spin-off, or the start of a mini-series. In this book, you’ll find out about Zinnia’s workplace and witch friends, plus there’s a thrilling mystery to solve.
I haven’t read any other Wisteria Witches books. Can I start here?
Absolutely! Wolves of Wisteria can be read as a stand-alone novel without spoiling the other books if you decide to read them next.
What’s a witch cozy mystery?
Witch cozies are similar to contemporary cozies in that they revolve around a mystery and feature an amateur or unconventional sleuth. The tone is humorous and breezy with a few good thrills, too. Witch cozies come with the added bonus of paranormal elements. The town of Wisteria is full of many supernaturals, including gorgons, vampires, shifters, mages, and more!
About the Series:

Wolves
Finally we get to learn a bit more about Zinnia. If you have been following the Wisteria Witches series, you’ve learned much of Zara’s story, and Zinnia, her aunt, has been a side character. In this novel, however, Zinnia comes into her own. Does this mean you need to have read any of the other books? No. This is absolutely a stand-alone novel. What it does have is the Easter eggs and tie-ins to the other stories for those who enjoy all the parts of a series. Seen from her own perspective, Zinnia is far less eccentric and quite a competent witch. And, as always, author Angela Pepper has put together an intriguing mystery with all sorts of paranormal intricacies. It is appropriate that there is a different narrator, Rosemary Benson, with a slightly deeper voice, acting out Zinnia’s story, and she is every bit as talented.
I enjoyed it it was easy reading and cute stories.
Fun read and you never know what going to happen next.
Wolves of Sister is by Angela Pepper and narrated by Rosemary Benson is an Audible book I requested and the review is voluntary. I love this series and the strange town of Wisteria! Witches, gnomes, shifters, ghosts, and brain eaters….what a town! Who wouldn’t want to live there? Love the characters, great plot with twists, and plenty of clues that do nothing out confuse me more, lol. Love the interaction between characters, the dialogue, and trying to guess what will come next. Great series. The narration is done perfectly for this book! Great voices and emotions.
Audiobook review: Wolves of Wisteria is my kind of story. It has a “normalcy” bend with a touch of supernatural that makes the story feel real. The characters are unique, likable, & believable. The mystery was well written and the accompanying storylines had me wanting more! The narrator did a great job with providing unique voices for each character and appropriate tone inflections for each scene! I received a free copy of this audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
I love the entire Riddle family! They are all so funny and enjoyable in their own special way. I enjoy a lot Angela Pepper’s humor and great writing style and was over the moon when she decided to write books featuring aunt Zinnia who is Zara’s awesome aunt as the main character.
I read all the books in this series and can’t get enough! I do hope Angela Pepper will continue to enjoy the company of the Riddle women for a long time and many more books to come.
I totally recommend!
Wolves of Wisteria (Wisteria Witches #6) was a good read by Angela Pepper. Zinnia Riddle now works as a clerk at the Wisteria Permits Department, where she doesn’t practice her witch powers. One of her beloved coworkers is found dead at her desk and everyone starts getting paranoid in the office. Zinnia Riddle and the witches in her coven make it their mission to find out what happened to her coworker. I really enjoyed this book and can’t wait to read more by the author.
Not one of the great novels ever but it was semi-enjoyable.
Not really my kind of book- but had to finish
Great book!! For those of you like me that listened to the Wisteria Witches series before this (it’s a different series but still goes perfectly together) this is a little more background story about Aunt Zinnia. I loved seeing her point of view about how she sees magic and everything else really. I can’t wait to read the next if it continues from where we left off.
Great read!! I love to read about witchcraft … it’s fun!!
Enjoyed the read
Rambling is the best adjective I can think of to describe the Wolves of Wisteria. Zinnia Riddle, a witch, works in the permits department in the Wisteria City Hall. She is surrounded by an odd cast of characters – Margaret, another witch; Gavin, a gnome; Carrot, a cartomancer; Annette, a motherly woman; and Karl, maybe a normal human. The thing is all the of them look, act, and speak as regular humans and do everything they can to hide their powers. When Annette is killed, Zinnia and Margaret try to help Sheriff Fung with the investigation. Even the reveal of the murderer is anticlimactic and the book continues for another 40 pages. This book is well written, quirky, and interesting – but rambling. Still, it was fun to read.
Sorry this was too ‘magical’ for me to even get past the 1st chapter
I have read several of the wisteria series and really enjoyed all of them. theme keeps you reading and the characters are fun.
I like the fantasy aspect of the book and enjoyed it enough that I will read others in the series but if the next one doesn’t grab me I might not read the third.
Cute mysteries
I usually love her books, but i had a hard time getting into this one. It did not hold my interest and I could not finish it. I got about 1/3 through before I shelved it. I will go back to it after while to finish it though.
Difficult concept to follow but enjoyed it all the same.
Fun Quick Read. Enjoyable characters. I figured out the ‘villian” before it was revealed but it did’t spoil anything.
