Wolf’s Mate is another exciting story in the Crescent Moon series by Katie Reus / Savannah Stuart. Erica has spent a little time away from her pack for fun but just when she starting to get a little homesick, she meets Hudson and a no-strings fling has her falling in love. Hudson wanted to go slow and give Erica space in the hopes of not scaring her off unfortunately for him his she-wolf is determined to keep walls between them. This relationship is sticky, sweet, passionate and brings two emotionally confused wolves together as Erica and Hudson try to work through their feelings and determine if they are mates or not. The plot is fast paced and keeps readers glued to the pages with the romance suspense but also Hudson’s pack is having a bit of difficulty with another pack, so readers are introduced to two new packs and still get in some time with the Alpha of the Crescent Moon pack – Grant.
As always the characters are strong, captivating, easily connected to and draw their readers into their story and while the story is short, it is a delightful read with a fulfilling story because the author doesn’t try to pack too many happenings into too short of a book. The introduction to the new characters caught my attention which means that I hope means that Katie Reus continues to provide me Crescent Moon stories.
What a wonderful addition to this series. Wolf’s Mate is the story of Hudson, a powerful strong second in command wolf shifter, who finds his beautiful mate. Erica is a she wolf that is taking a vaction when she wonders into Montana. Erica was never planing to fall in love or stay with Hudson. What happens when she relizes her and Hudson are mates. Can a couple of headstrong people find the kind of love that its life long. How far will you go? Read this amazing story to find out what happens.
Erica is a wolf shifter and has been traveling for about a year. Her last stop is in Montana before she heads back to her pack in Alabama. Hudson is the second in command to the alpha who is his brother. Hudson is two hundred years old and was to claim Erica. She is so much younger and he’s afraid to scare her so they decide to just have a fling while she’s there. What she doesn’t expect is to fall for the handsome shifter but he has only asked her to stay not to be his mate. She goes back to Alabama but finds out she’s pregnant. Erica doesn’t think that should be shared over a text or Skype so she takes the packs jet and goes back to Hudson. But Hudson has decided he’s given her enough space and heads to her pack to tell her how he feels.
When they finally got to the same place, he tells her but she thinks he’s just saying it because she’s pregnant. Can Hudson convince her his feelings are real and have been since he first saw her?
Excellent story. Short but sexy. Two shifters that are not sure of each other’s feelings but try to sort it out. Read it in one sitting. Fast paced and steamy enough to leave you in a sweat.
* Voluntarily read and reviewed this for Netgalley *
Wolf’s Mate by Katie Reus, Savannah Stuart is book Seven in the Crescent Moon series. This the story of Erica and Hudson. I have read the previous book and we briefly meet Erica but this book starts with a relationship of sorts already going on. Erica understood that they were just together for a short time since he didn’t ‘claim’ her. Hudson being the older man in the relationship didn’t want to scare Erica off since she was ‘younger’ than him. So he tried to go slower with her but when she tried to get away he quick started to make her see that they could be more.
Hudson and Erica agree to a casual fling. A fling that Erica is now wishing was more. When it’s time for her to return to her home state, Hudson’s “stay a few more days” isn’t the proclamation of love she would like. A month later she’s returning to Hudson because things just got serious and she is forced to confront him, this time in person rather than phone, text or Skype.
This is a very nice shifter novella that starts after this couple have been together. I loved how Hudson, from a different generation than Erica, was trying not to rush her but once she returned he wouldn’t let her leave. While Erica was pretty independent, I appreciated that she longed for that something more from Hudson. I never felt truly aggravated with him as the story wasn’t long enough to give me a chance to garner those emotions.
Hudson is all alpha, all possessive, and all protective and this novella was long enough to highlight that fact. A fact that I love. There are secondary characters that support the hero and heroine and some that I would like to have more from. The steam is high as is the chemistry between these two. Overall, a very enjoyable read when you need something fast with a great alpha hero.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book provided by NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
A good time that turns into alot more. Erica and Hudson were just having fun but, she fell in love with him. He didn’t say anything about being mated so she left. Hudson was older than Erica and he didn’t want to pressure her. Erica comes back later but, can Hudson convince her that he loves her? This is a great addition to the series and I would definitely recommend it.
Book 7 in the Crescent Moon series, Wolf’s Mate is a short, sweet novella featuring Hudson and Erica.
After spending a month together in Montana, Erica goes home only to find out that she’s pregnant. But she doesn’t want to saddle Hudson with a family he doesn’t want. What she doesn’t know is that Hudson has regretted letting her leave without tying her down and mating with her.
This was a sweet story with not a lot of drama. I found myself pretty much smiling throughout the book. There are some nice moments between Erica and Grant and Grant and his brother, Malcolm.
If you’re looking for something quick with a HEA, this one is for you.
ARC received for honest review.
Erica is a member of Grant’ pack and she took a year off to travel a bit and ended up at a packs place in Montana. Falling for none other than the Alpha’s brother and Beta Hudson.
It was to be nothing but casual but oh yea we have heard that one before.
Hudson is everything she could ever want in a mate, a man. He is loyal, honest, treats her well and is excellent in the sack.
Erica heads back to her own pack but something doesn’t sit right.
Hudson realizes after his brother thrashes him a bit the mistakes he made and heads out hoping to win back his woman.
I enjoyed this story. It flowed really well and the heat is off the charts.
I would say it’s a stand alone. Although personally, I have loved every single book in this series.
3.5 stars–WOLF’S MATE is the seventh instalment in Katie Reus’ contemporary, adult CRESCENT MOON paranormal, romance novella series. This is wolf shifters Erica and Hudson Kendrick’s story line. WOLF’S MATE can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary.
Told from dual third person perspectives (Erica and Hudson) WOLF’S MATE follows the building relationship between wolf shifters Erica, and Hudson Kendrick. Erica has been traveling for close to a year, and her final destination brings her up close and personal with the Kendrick Pack of Montana. One month together with Hudson Kendrick, their second in command, has Erica thinking about a happily ever after but Hudson makes no attempt to claim our heroine as his mate. Upon her return home to the Kincaid Pack in Alabama, Erica discovers that she is pregnant with Hudson’s pups, and struggles with the possibility of raising them on her own. What ensues is the quick profession of love between our leading couple, as they must make a decision about their future.
WOLF’S MATE is a very quick read; a sexy, sassy and cute story about two shifters, a lack of communication, and a happily ever after. The premise is imaginative; the romance is spicy; the characters are spirited and animated. Katie Reus continues to build upon her Crescent Moon series one entertaining shifter couple at a time
This series of novellas is really enjoyable. You can read them as standalone so you aren’t missing out if you hop into this one first.
Normally I don’t enjoy the reluctant hero very much but the author did a great job of showing us that he had no doubts when it came to Erica. Hudson is over a 100 years older than her and he thought with her being so much younger that he would scare her off if he got all possessive with her right away. He clearly showed he wanted her to stay. Unfortunately, Erica expected him to want to claim her right away so his hesitancy to do so sent her the wrong signals.
This may sound like this is an angsty read, but it really isn’t. I didn’t worry over these two because their feelings for each other clearly translated on the pages. This is the kind of book I like to read if I want something quick, fun and that will satisfies my like for a jealous/possessive hero.
Erica is a wolf shifter raised by the Kincaid pack when her parents died. She’s been exploring the world for the past year trying to find purpose. On her last leg of her journey she lands in Montana and stays with the Kendrick pack. Hudson, the pack’s second, and younger brother to the alpha Malcolm, picks her up at the airport. There is insta-chemistry between these two. Hudson is a short term lover and has no intention of settling down. They fall into an affair and spend the month together with really hot sex. Once she’s gone they discover they really miss each other but Hudson never asked for a mate-claim. When she’s home she discovers she doesn’t really fit and that she’s pregnant with twins. She returns to Montana to tell him, then choices have to be made. This is a surprise baby plot which is not my favorite but as always Katie writes a great story that read quickly and kept me engaged. Thank you Katie for the ARC of this story. This is my honest review.
Another steamy installment of the Katie Reus’ Crescent Moon series. Wolf’s Mate is a comedy of errors, only WAY steamy!
Erica loves her pack, but she needed to stretch her wings, so to speak, and see new and exciting places. She needed to experience some strange. She gets that in spades when she meets Hudson. Hudson wasn’t looking for anything, let alone a mate when he was tasked with picking Erica up from the airport.
But the sparks fly and the chemistry is nuclear between them. The problem is, they both forgot to talk to each other. Hudson didn’t want to go all caveman on Erica or rush her into exactly what he knew he wanted – a mating. Erica knows that, due to his age, Hudson wouldn’t hesitate to stake his claim if he wanted more than just a “good time.” Silly wolves!
See what happens when Erica discovers she’s pregnant. It’s a steamy, emotional ride that will make you smile!
This sexy short is book 7 in the Crescent Moon series and features Hudson and Erica. The book started with these two already together. It was a lack of communication that threw it all off and had Hudson scrambling to make it all right again.
This is a quick read with fabulous characters. I can’t wait to read more.
Erica left her pack to travel the country and experience life. She never expected to fall in love and it almost killed her to leave Hudson. But he never promised her a mating or forever, so she took what was left of her heart and ran back to her pack.
But when she finds out she is pregnant she returns to Hudson to tell him in person that he is going to be a father but that she is not obligating him to anything else.
Hudson is happy with his life as it is, he certainly never expected to find his mate. But being quite a bit older than Erica, in werewolf years if not in looks, he didn’t want to go fast and ruin it. But he went so slow she upped and left him! Now she is back and pregnant and he wants to show her what she means to him, but now his offering to mate looks like an obligation. Oh man he is in all kinds of trouble now!
Add in strife between Hudson’s pack and the neighbouring pack, the fact that Erica’s pack is cross country and Hudson has a bit of a headache! Great read and lovely characters.
Erica was taking some time away from her pack traveling and thinking. Her last stop before going back home was with the Kendrick pack. Erica thought she was just going to enjoy exploring the land but her attraction to Hudson and his attraction to her took over her exploration until it was time to leave. She wanted to stay and he wanted her to stay but Hudson didn’t ask the right question.
Erica went home and tried to get over Hudson but instead found out she was pregnant and would have to let him know. Hudson was miserable when Erica left and overjoyed when he went to see her but found out that she had already gone back to the Kendrick pack to see him. Would they be able to find their HEA?
Wolf’s Mate is a great story for readers that enjoy a good shifter romance. I expected the story to be a little longer than it was, because it a short read and I finished it quickly. With that being said it felt short but it was a steamy, exciting and entertaining read with a bit of suspense that leaves readers wanting more of this pack. I absolutely enjoyed Erica and Hudson, and I also enjoyed Hudson’s relationship with his brother and alpha Malcolm. I can’t say much without giving the story away but it was a great read with a happy ending that will leave paranormal readers with a smile on their face. I look forward to reading more books from this author in the future. Would I recommend it? Yes!
Be warned! This series is addictive! Hudson and Erica’s story is great. Things are turned upside down when unexpected things occur. Hudson just sounds like a neanderthal trying not to be. Funny how that works out for him. This is a fast, hot and often sweet read. I received an advanced copy of this book. I freely leave this honest review!
WOLF’S MATE By Katie Reus
Wolf’s Mate is the 7th addition to the Crescent Moon series and it is a welcome one! I really enjoyed the characters of Hudson and Erica. Erica visiting his pack. Since they have a tremendous amount of chemistry, their no obligation affair catches fire and has both of them secretly falling for the other and wanting to change the rules. She panics and runs back to her pack. Read the book to see how they work it out. Katie Reus has very fleshed out characters that makes you care about them. There is a solid story line with great flow.
Wolf’s Mate by Katie Reu / Savannah Stuart is book 7 in the Crescent Moon series. This is Erica and Hudson’s story. Erica has spent a little time away from her pack for fun but just when she is starting to feel the need to go back to her pack due to homesickness, she meets Hudson and they tumble headlong into a no strings affair. Erica ends up falling in love with Hudson and doesn’t know how he feels about her. Hudson knows immediately that Erica is special and takes things very slow as so not to drive her away. Erica expected him to claim her right away so his hesitancy in doing so sends her the wrong signals. Erica decides to leave to return to her pack which Hudson doesn’t stop her from leaving- he has his reasons but wow did it look like he didn’t care. But something sends Erica right back a month or so later …will Hudson finally show Erica his deep, true love or will he continue to make stupid male moves that sends Erica back to her pack, for good? I liked this quick novella read. There wasn’t any heavy angst, just light and caused by the main characters own making. There is action, drama, light angst, passion and true love. This story , even though a novella, ended up feeling like a full course story. The characters come off as relatable and exciting. I can’t wait to read more books in this paranormal series.
My Rating: 4.7 stars *****
“I received an advanced copy of this book from the author at no cost to me.”
Wolf’s Mate (Crescent Moon, #7) by Katie Reus I have been enjoying the CRESCENT MOON series… Erica and Hudson are another couple who have to go through some angst and also some hot sex and some laughs to get to their HEA.. Thanks to #NetGalley for allowing me to preview this book. Hudson is older in wolf years and feels Erica will feel he is pressuring her…she thinks he only wants a good time and does not care deep enough. This was a fun read and I am looking forward to the next book in the series.
