Thoroughly enjoyed the tale of “Wolf’s Lady”. Strong world building and character development. I was completely immersed in Henry and Adelle’s story. Just the right amount of humor and suspense from all the characters. The backstory of how Henry and his pack came to be in Scotland was brilliant and very original. Adelle’s “fall from grace” was very believable and well-written. Nice happily ever after ending.
Would love to see this turned into a series of its own instead of a stand alone novel!
Wolf’s Lady by Jessica Marting is a wonderful story to read. This is book number one in this wonderful start to a brand new series that I am so hooked on and can not wait to read more. I highly recommend this story to everyone who loves reading about historical, fantasy and paranormal romance.

Adele was being sent to the far reaches of Scotland by order of the queen because she disgraced her family. A family friend and fiend, Lord Wexler, accompanied her to her destination and offered to marry her instead with threats. Henry’s family held a secret and the queen held it over his head to marry Adele. While Adele and Henry began their fun and intriguing romance, interesting, exciting, romantic, dangerous, situations arose while lies, family secrets, doubts, miscommunication, and real love are experienced. Fun read

I rated this book 4 stars. I did enjoy the story but I was disappointed in a couple of things. ( I am not going to take stars away because I think the story should have went a certain way)
**spoiler alert**
The fact that Henry didn;t tell Adele he was a wolf shifter until way later was a bit annoying for a few reasons…first one, if she was his mate- would she not have felt a connection to him stronger than anything?
But lastly, when he did tell her and she decided to let him mark her, the marking was extremely anticlimactic. 🙁
I guess I am used to the “marking ” happening during the throws of passion.
Overall though, it was a good story.

Lady Adelle Thornber had been tainted by a scandal that rocked London and she has been banished to Scotland to marry Lord Henry MacAulay, Baron of Roseheath. She is being chaperoned by the Frederick Stone, Duke of Wexfield whose lecherous nature is well known. As long as he keeps his hands to himself, she doesn’t really care that he is there. It was snowing and she was very cold. Wexfield offered her a proposition. He needed heirs to pass his lands to, and she would never get a good marriage, so he wanted her to marry him and give him children. She refused. He had seen bruises on his mistresses and she wanted no part of him. At last they reached Roseheath and Wexfield refused to stay the night, which seemed to relieve everyone.
As the sole heir to the Roseheath title and werewolf alpha, Henry knew he had to have a mate. He doesn’t look forward to telling her what he is, but he will have to when they talk about children. Will that discussion end their marriage? Will she be unwilling to have his werewolf children?
I really enjoyed this story which mixes so many different things in a new presentation with horse-drawn conveyances along with steam ones and dirigibles! It was fascinating. The story have good pacing, even as they were getting to know each other. I really like Henry and his dignified yet easy-going ways. I look forward to continuing with this author. The writing was good and the story enjoyable and quite different.
This is the first book from Jessica Martin I’ve read. It was an easy, yet entertaining and intriguing read. The characters were well rounded with a plot that keeps you involved and turning the pages to find out what happens next.
