I can’t say enough about this story! I loved everything about it! I could go on about the story but I don’t want to spoil anything. I have loved everything de Wolfe and it is no different with this one, I love Markus!
THE POWER OF LOVE
Markus de Wolfe and his family come to the aid of Lady Amabella de Sauque, when the commander of Trastamara Castle takes control after her husband dies. Atlas de Sauque is the heir, but his life could be in danger. What they find at the castle is very disturbing. It will take a de Wolfe army to bring it to rights. Markus has never found a lady to marry. He isn’t interested in the young ones. He considers them too silly. When he meets Amabella for the first time he knows something is different. Even though she is ten years older, it makes no difference to Markus. But what about his service to the king as his Great Protector? Kathryn Le Veque always, always writes the best medieval love stories!
I always enjoy how the DeWolfe men twist events to get what and who they want.
Same far at as always just different events and characters. Way to spend a lazy day
I love her writing she one of my favorites writers

I love the whole Wolfe family and all their stories! Can’t wait for the next one!
It’s Kathryn LeVeque! Need I say more. I just can’t get enough. It’s like crack for my kindle!!!
WolfeHeart:de Wolfepack Generations #1by Kathryn Le Veque is an historical adventure romance. Set in medieval Scotland during the reign of King Edward it has brave knights, horrible villains, intrigue, true love, battles, and close family connections. Characters are well rounded and believable, the plot line is interesting, details of the times add to and support the story. Especially admirable are the exploits of the young children who bring a humorous element into this enjoyable read.
Age does not concern Markus de Wolfe when he falls in love. He loves with his whole heart, both his wife and her fatherless children. It is a story about what makes a family, but is also an adventure with danger and intrigue of the Medieval kind. I loved it!
I love Kathryn’s books and the De Wolfe clan is my favorite. Reading about “Atty’s” son Markus was a treat. It brings back so many memories of the books I’ve read about William and Jordan, their children and grand children. This book is no different with plenty of action, betrayals, war, and I loved Alfie and and his sister Ambar. But on to Markus who takes a great interest in Amabella when he meets her. Atlas is her oldest, Alfie and ambar and another daughter. A fantastic read. HEA
This book reminded me of the old-school Kathryn LeVeque novels. It was a decent size novel that probably won’t be finished in two hours. There is a lot of detail and several stories that are intrinsic to the plot. It was nice seeing some older family members and meeting some new ones. I’m already looking forward to reading more about the younger generation.
I am a great fan and read all of her books. Actually I don’t want them to end, so this one was too short for me. I love romance, action and funny which this had all including some unexpected twists.
Le Veque is a one-click author!
I tried to read this slow but before I knew it I was at 72% mark and forgot I wanted to savor it and take my time. How this author can write one amazing book after another makes her not human – lol.
I must admit, I had reservations when I ordered this. I’m not a fan of older women and younger men. I thought it would put a road block for me feeling a connection to this couple. Of course, the story carried me away it I totally forgot my pet peeve.
The h’s children were another reason I feel in love with this story. Oh my goodness, I could just picture King Alfie and his horse guard battling. The youngest with a talent for foods and had just the right amount of spunk – typical 5 year old that made me laugh more than once.
There are more villains than you can shake a stick at, but of so many honorable hunky knights! This author knows how to write battle scenes that I forget I am sitting in my living room reading and not up in a tree taking all the sounds and smells in.
There is a passionate lovemaking scene, outside of marriage – heat level 3.5 out of 5 described in detail once. Then another time barely described.
Allow time to savor this story because once you start you can’t stop. There is suspense, intrigue, twists, honor, dishonor, fantastic main and secondary character’s, great banter and a spot on story line, as you always get from this author.
The author notes in the beginning had me tearing up with all the memories of this great family. Then she hits us with an even more emotional ending with Jordan, which made me cry. I had to remind myself THIS IS FICTION, but it’s hard to remember that when they seem apart of your closest friends.
No cheating, no cliffhanger, HEA, romance and just the right amount of spice. (ljb)
The life and legend of Sir William de Wolfe lives on in his sons and especially his grandsons. What a grand experience to relive his era, and adventures with his grandsons in the world they live in. Markus de Wolfe is the son of Patrick (Atty) and a Viking mother. He is the oldest son, big, muscular, handsome and proud that he is a well-known knight. If fact, King Edward has enlisted Markus to become his Lord Protector. Lady Amabella de Sauque has send a missive to Patrick stating that she is afraid for the lives of her family and herself, after her husband was found murdered. This of course, alerts the de Wolfes and they ride to protect them. The story is wonderful full of humor, memories, evil villains, and I have wept at the memories brought back to life. Thank you, Kathryn, for creating new memories for us and I can not wait until the next Grandson is introduced.
Grandson of William de Wolfe Markus de Wolfe about to appointed Lord Protector of England for King Edwards. He’s destined to be a premiere knight in all of England it’s in his blood and his heritage. Marcus is sent to Castle Trastamara to retake the castle after the overlord holding the castle is killed. The new heir is serving as a squire for Marcus’s father Atty de Wolfe, they’ve been keeping the castle safe for the heir Atlas.
Amabella Hemada Abril de Sauque is now a widow with four children whose garrison captain Sir Shand Bexwell who is aggressive and threatening has taken over her home and castle. She send a message to their liege lord Patrick de Wolfe aka Atty for help. The de Wolfe army and Marcus arrives to retake the castle and keep Amabella and her family safe, to protect the new heir. Marcus is drawn to Amabella, but she’s an older woman total not the type of woman his family will approve of as his wife. Amabella is the mother of four already what does she want or need husband at this point in her life. He son will inherit their home and castle. This story is filled twists and turns as Kathryn has done an outstanding job of writing wonderful character introducing us to the grandsons of the great William de Wolfe. I have voluntarily read and reviewed this amazing story.
Wow. This story started off with a gasp, yes, being pulled back into the brutality of 1300 Scotland where power and spoils were often the only care of some men. Kathryn LeVeque always manages to pull me right into that timeline and hold me spellbound through her stories.
Marcus de Wolfe, the eldest of the grandchildren, of the exalted William de Wolfe, comes to the front as the hero of this story. Strong, brave, a giant of a man, who had been chosen as Lord Protector to the King, Edward.
But he and his father and their forces were called to one of their allies, Roget de Sauque of Trastamara Castle, finding out he had been killed and his captain of the guard, Sir Bexwell had taken over the castle. Lady Amabella de Sauque had sent word, worried what would happen to her and her children, with her eldest seventeen year old son Atlas now being the heir.
As they arrived at the castle and Marcus met Lady Amabella, he was enthralled by her beauty. Although older than him she seemed to have a timeless aura. She was desperate for their help against Bexwell.
This intriguing story was filled with secrets, murder, hidden enemies, brave knights, delightful children who stole the heart and a journey to a true love that was unexpected. If you have read any of this amazing authors stories or even if you have not, you will thoroughly enjoy being pulled back into the world of the de Wolfe Pack. Perfect.
Wolfeheart by Kathryn Le Veque is the newest de Wolfepack book. It revolves around William De Wolfe’s grandson, Atty’s son, Markus, who had come with his father and a few hundred men to secure Trastamara Castle. The lord had apparently been killed and Atty had received a letter from his widow asking for assistance. It seems, the captain of the garrison had determined that the castle should be his, illegally. The Lady of Trastamara was Amabella Hemada Abril de Sauque. She had grown up at Trastamara and she had been happy there, even after her marriage, until her father died. At that point her husband, Roget, had become the meanest man ever. She was treated with disdain. He fired nearly all the servants, telling he that she had nothing better to do, she could work. Meanwhile he installed his mistress in her home of Modrington Manor, a few miles distant and spends much of his time there. He eldest son, Atlas, was fostering at a de Wolfe castle fairly close by. The captain, Sir Shand, had not notified his liege of Roget’s death and now he was telling Amabella that he husband had wished her to marry him, Shand, if anything ever happened to him. She was aghast and could only hope her message had gotten through to Berwick and help would arrive.
Markus is everything a reader could wish for in a de Wolfe hero. He is handsome, strong, talented, determined, and courageous. He was to become the Protector of the King very soon, as soon as the king arrived on his journey north. He was unmarried, by choice. His father was disappointed in his status and was regularly selecting possible matches for him from neighboring castles. Markus was stubborn. He would not marry now, possibly sometime in the future. This is a complicated story, plenty of characters, and plenty of surprises on every page. It is pure Le Veque and all her fans will surely love it. It is everything a de Wolfe novel should be and more. Of course, Markus finds his true love, but that hold surprises as well. I heartily recommend Wolfeheart to historical romance readers, middle ages aficionados, and anyone who simply wants a good read.
I received a free ARC of Wolfeheart from Dragonblade in exchange for a fair and honest review. All opinions and interpretations contained herein are solely my own.
