I missed the first book, but I wasn’t in the dark on the story line. The coyote pack was being led by an insane alpha whose actions caused their village to be destroyed and all of the males are gone. Briar is an independent woman and feels responsible to care for what’s left of her pack. The wolves are not friendly, but they don’t have much choice. They don’t have workable shelter or enough food to eat. She heads out to the wolves and finds the Alpha, Thorn, more than she expected. What the survivors didn’t know was that their insane alpha had attacked the wolves and feelings were not welcoming. Thorn is falling for Brian just as much as she is for him. They will work together to save her remaining pack members, repair the damage to the relationship between the two packs and still have a life together. Briar is strong and determined to save her people. Thorn is strong, tough, but fair, and always thinks about what is best for his wolves. If everything works out, they will be a force to be reckoned with! I requested an advanced reader copy from Booksprout and am under no obligation to leave this review.
