Werewolf Zane Kendrick will do whatever it takes to take the man who attacked his SWAT pack and his search has taken to Los Angeles where a smart, sexy agent comes to his aid and all his wolf instincts tell him that she’s The One. Alyssa arson has investigated some weird stuff lately as a FBI agent and finding people drained of blood definitely falls into their category so when she agrees to work with Zane and his team, she doesn’t have time for the attraction between them. When they discover the sinister truth it will take everything they have to make it out this mission with lives –and hearts- intact.
The electrically explosive chemistry between Zane and Alyssa is WOW to the factor of 10 but this relationship has a couple major handicaps which keeps readers on pins and needles. First they have this major mission that takes precedence and some uber important secrets that could implode at any moment, but their attraction will not be denied no matter how much they fight it which has sparks flying in every direction.
This fast paced and energetic plot keeps readers on the edge with lots of thrilling suspense regarding not only the relationship and the secrets but of course the search for the bad guys. Stunning twists and world rocking unveilings adds some truly remarkable, adrenaline pumping excitement to this story. These jaw dropping revelations also grips readers hard and has them curious and eagerly awaiting just where the author is taking our favorite SWAT werewolves! STAT someone bring lots of ice, because this is one sexy and red hot read.
SWAT: Special Wolf Alpha Team #9, wow, book nine already. Out earlier this summer if you haven’t the chance yet I highly recommend this series. Throughout the book the SWAT has discovered they not alone, between the Omegas and the Betas but now they discover so much more, the shifters aren’t the only paranormal out there. There is a continuing story arc but each of the book is a stand alone you can read it just by itself but really these books are quick and easy to read and so good it worth reading all of them.
The sexy former SAS Brit, Zane, and some of the others go to L.A. to track down the one who betrayed the pack. Zane is slowly recovering from the poisoned bullet that nearly cost him his arm, he’s not sure he’ll ever get back to full strength but that’s not going to stop him from catching the SOB who was behind the attack in the last book. FBI Special Agent Alyssa Carson is part of a unit that technically doesn’t exist. She’s in L.A. following a lead on a missing persons and the connection to an exsanguinated body. Alyssa has seen some weird stuff but she is in no way prepared for meeting Zane, the hunters and all the other weird stuff L.A. has in store for them.
Overall, it’s an exciting read. Excellent action, sweet and hot romance, wonderfully developed characters with the right amount of angst and witty banter.
Loved it! Can I have more please? It was nice getting back into reading about shifter wolves working blue collar jobs again.
I do not get paid for this review, thoughts are my own.
Oh, Zane you beautiful British wolf, I am so glad you found Alyssa. I enjoyed their story so much I finished
it in one night. I love the chemistry between Zane and Alyssa, especially when they are trying to get information from the other person. They are adorable. I absolutely love this series and couldn’t be happier with this addition to it. I found the addition of vampires to the SWAT world an interesting twist, and if I’m not mistaken, I believe I see a spin off series coming. I really look forward to that.
Happy dance. I love both series by Paige Tyler and though. I am not caught up (I have them all) I could not pass up the opportunity to grab the Arc, Wolf Instinct was fresh, did not read as a ongoing plot in different stories. It was like finding a new author covering new ground with just enough pop of older drop ins from the pack to have the warm fuzzy of family. Alyssa was fantastic! Part of an covert FBI that is aware of supernatural, but not werewolves Strong, self aware women and Zane our hunky damaged werewolf. Our heroes become aware of more supernatural then themselves and as they stake out the bad guys Alyssa and Zane connect. Hot erotic love scenes, which if you don’t enjoy (like me) skim over, but don’t let that deter you. The plot is intriguing, suspenseful, sexy, family with an awesome HEA. Love the hint of things to come. Thank you Paige Tyler, Sourcebooks Casablanca and NetGalley for the Arc. All thoughts and opinions are my own and we’re unsolicited
Very enjoyable and entertaining addition to this series! I really like Zane and Alyssa! Their chemistry is sizzling! Zane, is a sexy British werewolf. I mean, come on how can you not love him? Alyssa is an FBI agent and a strong woman, not a damsel in distress. I also really love how accepting she is of Zane especially after she finds out she is The One. . Such a good story that kept me on the edge of my seat near the end there for sure.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for this ARC.
Wolf Instinct is a terrific addition to this series. This story opens up a world of possibilities for these characters. I loved that Alyssa is convincing Zane that he isn’t the monster the bad guys are. Sometimes I found myself wanting to Gibbs smack him for his self-loathing. How is he going to love someone else if he doesn’t like himself? The author handled it wonderfully. I love this series and look forward to the next installment.
Absolutely Fantastic . I volunteered to read and review an advanced readers copy of Wolf Instinct through Net Gallery . I absolutely loved reading this story . I love wolves and add in sexy , take charge , law inforcement swat I’m happy as can be . This story is full of action and intrigue . Zane Kendrick is swat werewolf he is searching for his former boss who tried to kill him and is swat pack . The man fled to Los Angeles . Alyssa Carson is an FBI agent . She and a team investigates weird cases kinda a like the x-files . They meet at a bar where they both are doing surveillance little did they know their cases are connected . Zane and Alyssa agree to work together little does she know Zane’s secret or that she’s his mate . This is a real intention getter story . Absolutely wonderful characters . It is intense . An all out on the edge of your seat read . So many twists and turns . I couldn’t put it down . I highly recommend taking the time to read this story .
Dallas SWAT member Zane Kendrick had travelled to LA in order to track down the man who’d tried to eliminate their whole pack six months before. In a close call, Zane rescues two young women with the fortuitous help of FBI agent Alyssa Carson, who had been looking for them. It doesn’t take Alyssa and Zane long to figure out they’re looking at different sides of the same coin. While Zane wonders if Alyssa is behind werewolf murders that have been occurring over the world, she fears he might be one of the not-quite-human monsters she’s trying to apprehend. To complicate matters, she’s terminally attracted to the handsome Brit, and he has already caught her irresistible scent: she’s The One, his soul mate. But are they friends or foes?
WOLF INSTINCT, book #9 in the SWAT series, stands surprisingly well on its own. It consists mostly of a straightforward investigation where Zane and Alyssa combine their efforts to bring down a common enemy. The other members of SWAT, apart from Rachel Bennett and Diego Martinez who accompany Zane on this mission, only play very minor roles. The story is interesting, but not terribly exciting, and the pace is rather slow; there’s more talking than doing. However, this does wonders for the romance, as Zane and Alyssa really get to know each other before embarking on any sort of relationship. And when it does happen, the romance felt genuine, and the intimate scenes were sensuous and tender.
The second third dragged a little; there were repetitions and superfluous details that felt like filler and attempts to meet the word count, notably the numerous mentions of fries, over which Alyssa fixated. And maybe it was a case of it’s not you, it’s me, but the humour felt a bit forced; I thought there was almost a YA vibe, at times. Both characters are well developed and have solid backstories, but it was Rachel who captivated me the most; there’s something about her that’s profoundly endearing. With the Curtis family, the story seemed to be heading in a very promising direction, but they got pushed into the background somehow. I thought Stefan was severely underused; he seemed delightfully wicked. There were some minor contradictions and inconsistencies, and the level of security for the bad guys seemed to fluctuate according to plotline requirements. The ending left me somewhat confused; it was a bit convoluted, and some things felt way too convenient, particularly if one plot twist is confined to this installment. Overall WOLF INSTINCT is rather mellow, and ideal for a lazy summer day.
Zane is a wolf shifter and on the Dallas S.W.A.T team. He and two pack mates go to L.A. looking for the man that tried to kill his pack. Alyssa is on a special team in the FBI, she hunts down supernatural creatures. They both are watching the same man and end up fighting his bodyguards. Zane knows Alyssa is The One for him but will she consider him a monster? When Alyssa gets kidnapped, Zane will do anything to get her back.
I know this is short but I didn’t want to give too much away. I loved this story. Zane and Alyssa are perfect for each other. Action. Steamy. Wolves and other creatures. I can always count of Ms. Tyler’s books to take me out of reality. Two people with rough pasts find love.
* Voluntarily read and reviewed this for NetGalley *
If you have never read this author before, know that she writes character driven; action packed reads that will leave the reader both satisfied yet looking for another “fix.” This story is the perfect example of her writing genius. She balances action and heat with a wonderful story line and great character development. I could not me more content with this book.
Wolf Instinct is the story of a wolf shifter (Zane) and a monster hunter (Alyssa); you really can’t have more opposite characters then these two, but when Zane’s wolf decides that Alyssa is their mate, nothing will stop them from claiming her. Alyssa on the other hand works in a job that is against everything that Zane is. The Ultimate question becoming, is Alyssa just doing a job or does that job reflects her personal beliefs?
Within this story the passion and romantic development is perfect. I loved the push and pull between Zane and Alyssa. They are both trying to fight nature, feelings, professional expectations, and life in general to do what is best for them. I also love this author’s take on the traditional shifter story. It’s both familiar, yet unique and this story felt new and fresh, not at all like the recycled story line so many shifter books seem to have. I loved that it read like a whole new world to me.
This story is a fun, flirty and sweet read and I would recommend this book to anyone who likes a lighter and softer shifter story (without all the pain and darkness). It’s extremely character driven so the reader will never be bored. The humor and dialogue that these characters have just makes the book so much more enjoyable. I laughed more than a few times; the action kept me on the edge of my seat and I fell for these characters with each page turned. I received an ARC via NetGallery and I am leaving an honest review.
Ninth book in series, best to read in order. Paige Tyler has created a great series and each book is a must read. each book reveals a little more of the Werewolf lore which is great. It always takes a while for the SWAT men to realize they have met THE ONE.
Alyssa, an agent for a secret FBI unit, is working to find girls that go missing from dance clubs. While looking for the man that attacked him and his pack, Zane sees a girl a club being given a drink that has been drugged. When Zane and Alyssa meet and start to work together, Zane realizes Alyssa is ‘The One’ for him. They must, however, first finish their respective assignments while getting the Alpha Swat team involved in the missing girls. Through all of the twists in solving the case, Zane and Alyssa’s story was a story worth waiting for as Paige Tyler gives readers another hot and sexy romantic paranormal story of a Dallas Swat Team member. *I received a copy of “Wolf Instinct” from Sourcebooks, and voluntarily give my honest opinion.” 5 Stars!
I love Paige Tyler! She can do no wrong!
Zane Kendrick is recovering from getting shot by hunters while he is in Los Angeles looking for the missing police chief behind it all. While trolling a club for clues to the ex-chief of police’s whearabouts, he catches a scent so wonderful, so sweet, he recognizes it might be The One for him. Talk about bad timing!
Alyssa Carter might be with the FBI, but she’s not with any department Zane has ever heard of — she’s investigating supernatural activity and immediately notices that there’s something different about Zane. It doesn’t keep her from checking him out, or thinking his British accent is the sexiest thing she’s ever heard. She wants him, but her solitary years make her hesitant to go for it.
Meanwhile, together they find clues that may lead them to more than they bargain for when it becomes clear that werewolves aren’t the only supernatural creatures out there.
Wolf Instinct is book 9 in this series, and you might think that the series would be winding down by now,but Paige Tyler has really done a great job of keeping this series interesting. Like most of the other books in this series, I really enjoyed Wolf Instinct. Zane and Alyssa are perfectly matched for each other and when she says of Zane in his wolf form that “he’s beautiful” I fell for this group of SWAT officers and their soul mates all over again.
Overall, another entertaining installment in the series.
Paige’s SWAT wolf stories just keep getting better. And yipee the paranormal world has expanded with this delicious story. This makes me very happy. There are so many twists and surprises in this story. That makes it my favorite kind. I love being surprised by the author’s imagination.
Zane Kendrick is the only Brit in the Dallas SWAT team pack. He’s the one shot with wolfsbane poison and almost lost his left arm. He’s now the “weak” link on the team and the pack is careful not to have him go it alone, which just torques him off. He, Rachel Bennett and Diego Martinez are trying to track down Randy Curtis, their former boss who tried to exterminate the who pack. He may be hiding out with family who are Black Swan Enterprises, a world money making conglomerate. On an op watching Stefan Curtis, the black sheep of the family, they run into Alyssa Carson an FBI agent trying to locate missing girls. She thinks Curtis is kidnapping them. She’s on a FBI/CIA Special (aka supernatural) Threat Assessment Team investigating weird stuff worldwide. Zane wonders if she’s the government’s arm of hunters exterminating werewolves so the team decides he needs to stick close.
It is going to be interesting to see where she takes this series in the future now that we have a bigger supernatural world and we have closed the mystery of who is behind the hunters. I can’t wait.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Heart pounding, action packed, emotional and engaging adventure filled with danger, mystery, exciting twists and undeniable passion…. was a thrilling read from beginning to end that left me breathless and wanting more. Looking forward to the next SWAT team book from this undeniable sexy and exhilarating series.
Paige Tyler is another new author to me and my only regret is I didn’t begin reading this series from the beginning. “Wolf Instinct” was amazing and held me captive from beginning to end. I love paranormal stories of every kind and this didn’t disappoint! Although there was a lot of information and details, it wasn’t hard to follow. The chemistry between Alyssa and Zane nearly set my kindle on fire and I couldn’t wait to find out how their relationship would work out. I can’t wait for the next book in the series!
Thank you to NetGalley and Sourcebooks Casablanca for the opportunity to review this title.
My review is my honest opinion of this story.
Alyssa is a strong heroine who doesn’t need a man to come to her rescue. The attraction between her and Zane was off the charts! Zane does NOT want “the one” but realizes shortly after meeting Alyssa that she is his! Alyssa feels a pull toward Zane but is not ready to be his! Paige does a fantastic job of writing strong women and men and making them work together. There was good mystery and suspense. A wonderful addition to the ninth book in this series. Can’t wait for the next book!
My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read.
This is the ninth book in this series and finally we get Zane’s story We have always known him as the too cool British wolf shifter and got to know a little more about him when he was injured but now we get his full story and what a story it is.
Zane blames himself for the death of his squad mates when he was in the British SAS and then he became a monster and lost his fiance and family. He found a new family with the members of the Dallas SWAT but now he is about to find someone even more special. Alyssa has secrets of her own she is hunting the monsters that are killing women in La as their cases overlap they are drawn to one another Will she be able to handle his secret will he finally get the love he wants This is another character driven addition to this series where the adventure and intrigue are just part of a wonderful story If you haven’t read any of this series do yourself a favour start at the beginning you won’t be disappointed
