“The chemistry between these characters is downright palpable.” –USA TODAY on The Wolf at the Door Agent Cooper Dayton and his partner, Oliver Park, are going undercover–at a retreat for couples who need counseling. They do say the best cover story is one that’s close to the truth… Agent Cooper Dayton is almost relieved to get a phone call from his former boss at the Bureau of Special … former boss at the Bureau of Special Investigations. It means a temporary reprieve from tensions created by house hunting with Oliver Park, his partner both in work and in life. Living together in a forever home is exactly what Cooper wants. He’s just not keen on working out the details.
With a former alpha werewolf missing, Cooper and Park are loaned to the BSI to conduct the search at a secluded mountain retreat. The agents will travel to the resort undercover…as a couple in need of counseling.
The resort is picturesque, the grounds are stunning and the staff members are all suspicious as hell.
With a long list of suspects and danger lurking around every cabin, Cooper should be focusing on the case. But he’s always been anxious about the power dynamics in his relationship with Park, and participating in the couples’ activities at the retreat brings it all to the surface. A storm is brewing, though, and Cooper and Park must rush to solve the case before the weather turns. Or before any more guests–or the agents themselves–end up dead.

In every series that features one steady couple there is vacation book. Despite this predictable fact I enjoyed this book as much as the previous in the series. This author writes such good humor – sarcastic and self deprecating – and marvelous dialogue between all the characters not only main. I love all the interactions between Oliver and Cooper. The heated encounters between them are nothing short of fabulous.
The mystery is so good, the level of suspense is steady throughout the book that there is never a boring moment. All the characters are fleshed out, the emotions are so well written even for Oliver considering that he does not have a POV that I never feel like I am missing something between them. OMG, they are so in love! I liked the plot twists that kept coming and a little bit of spice that author threw here and there. She knows how to keep her reader engaged with her characters and the story line. I enjoyed it from first page to the last and can’t wait to dig into the latest book!
With a good deal of time between releases, it’s easy to forget just how much I enjoy the Big Bad Wolf series, but four books in and I still can’t get enough. Wolf in Sheep’s Clothing is definitely best read in order as the couple is the same throughout the series and the overarching storylines extend between books. This book included another fun adventure for Park and Cooper as they work undercover to track missing persons at an exclusive couples’ resort.
Wolf in Sheep’s Clothing felt like a warm, fun welcome back to a world I immensely enjoy. I love the way Park and Cooper’s relationship continues to develop over the entire series. It’s definitely not always easy for these two but I enjoy watching them work to make it better and appreciate that even in the rough spots, their love for one another is as palpable as their insecurities. Of course this couple’s sexual chemistry continues to be very intense, ensuring this is a pair I cannot get enough of. Best of all, Wolf in Sheep’s Clothing contains the author’s signature fun, snarky banter and humor woven into interesting storylines. Suffice to say, this series delivers on all levels. The plot keeps me engaged, the couple ensures I’m invested, and the banter has me laughing and smiling. If you’re looking for a new series to get sucked into, I’d definitely recommend the Big Bad Wolf books.

Wow. Just wow.
This series only keeps getting better and better.
I love the characters. I love the world-building. l love the way each case is inter-woven with the evolution of Cooper’s and Park’s relationship. I love it all.
And – spoiler alert! – Wolf in sheep’s clothing has the most epic proposal of all time. Loooove it!
And I’m so, so, very, very sad that the next book won’t be out until next year.

This series was a new discovery for me, and I began at the beginning. I enjoyed the nuanced adjustments to the traditional werewolf tropes. It was a fresh surprise every time Cooper and Park role-played in the intimate aspects of their relationship. This part of the story was a great installment in the development of the world and their changing relationship.
I wanted to like this story, but it was too dry (not much in the way of believable chemistry, situations or relationships) and contrived. Struggled through to the end….wished I hadn’t.
Absolutely loved this next chapter in the saga of Cooper and Oliver! The mystery is riveting and the character development as Cooper tries to come to terms with a number of recent discoveries is fantastic. Oh, and Oliver, the epitome of tall, dark, handsome, and calmly authoritative and powerful, has the patience of a saint…though we also discover some insecurity as well.
As the story begins Oliver and Cooper are house hunting. Well, Oliver is house hunting and Cooper is freaking out. At this point it is probably important to point out that the storyline and character issues will make a lot more sense if you’ve read and remember the previous books. A key running point hinges on information from the previous book and there are several references to the earlier books as well. You can certainly read and understand this story on it’s own but for full appreciation of the main characters and their motivations and issues you need background and context.
Cooper is contacted by his old boss who requests his help on a probable missing person case in NC. He and Oliver go undercover at a couples retreat which is a bit close for comfort as they clearly have some issues to work out. The mystery of what is going on is intriguing, the players introduced add nicely to the mystery and the investigations, the red herrings are well done and the way the suspense story melds with the character development is great.
The climactic moment is such a great blending of all the story threads it is a perfect example of masterful writing and storytelling. The tension is palpable, the discovery of the villain and the encounter with same different than expected and the resolution heartwarming and revealing.
The book ends on a segue to the next book which we have to wait until 2021 for which is just too damn long! It also references a previous book so the “wow!” moment won’t hit you if you haven’t read the earlier books. This book is a highly recommend!
