“All hail the queens of Urban Fantasy!” Reviewer From NYT and USAT bestselling authors Denise Grover Swank and Shannon Mayer comes the thrilling sequel to “Silver Staked” . . . My name is Rachel Sambrook, and I thought I understood the world …until I discovered the world is full of living, breathing, monsters. When I teamed up with Lea, I thought we stopped the experiments on the vampire … experiments on the vampire blood.
All we did was open a can of wolves, we had not expected. The clues we find take us halfway across the world and to my irritation, leave us depending on two men.
One, a werewolf who has his own set of secrets.
And the other a Cazador like Lea . ..only this one is human. And more tempting than I’d like to admit.
The only way to win this new fight will be to trust one another. If we don’t, then none of us will survive the bite that is coming . . . .
WOLF BITE was previously published under the title “Replica”

This book picks up right where the first one left off. You will want to make sure you read the first one.
Oh man, the werewolf is a hoot! Had me cracking up quite a bit. The back and forth between either Lea and him or Rachel and him was entertaining.
I was upset when I saw I was at 80% because I didn’t want this book to end but knew the end was near.
The four characters had really enjoyable dynamics, I can’t wait for book 3 to be released so that I can find out more about their stories and the next challenges.
This Was Even Better Than Book #1!!
Wolf Bite (The Blood Borne #2)
Blimey, that was intense, amusing at times & explosive in more ways than one!!
Lea is making her way back to Rachel, via taxi, when she realises the driver is a Supernatural – is he friend of foe?? Without knowing his reasons, on the surface, he seems to be a friend & he & Lea have the serious hots for each other!! He’s a natural Werewolf called Ivan.
Rachel has just aired her expose about the Vampires, Government & monsters etc when she’s told to go back on air within the hour to give a retraction or they’ll ruin her late Fathers good name which will have serious repercussions for her 4 brothers especially!! She contacts the oldest, his one question, after she explains, is is it all true? After her reply he immediately says “Then do what’s right, bring them all down, it’s what Dad would’ve expected of you”!! #FamilyLoyaltyLove
On the subway a gorgeous guy pulls her to him hugging her, he whispers in her ear that she’s got two men following her. He kisses her, very thoroughly & well. Placing something in the back of her jeans at the same time! Then at the next stop he pushed her out of the doors at the last moment & attacks her pursuers!
The stranger, later known as Antonio the second Hunter but Human, keeps turning up. He tries to drive a wedge between Lea & Rachel. Thankfully their friendship is strong enough to take some knocks! The four, reluctantly together, head to Iraq to try & stop Stravinsky & his sick twisted experiments he’s continuing over there! It’s a fight to the death at times. Old friends make shocking reappearances! Hopefully together they can survive it though.
Then a bombshell is dropped on them by the Queen of Vampire’s, who appears out of nowhere! Rachel is much more involved in all of this than they ever realised, although Lea & Antonio had begun to suspect because of how strong her bond to Lea is!!
This was absolutely brilliant. All I want to know now is, when do the Author’s intend to continue this amazing series please??

Wolf Bite was every bit as good as the first book in the currently short series. I am a wimp- and this book seemed less gory than the first or maybe I just skimmed over those paragraphs. Ha ha. The story really takes some interesting turns and by the end we finally find out why Ivan and Antonio are so drawn to stay in this odd ball group of vampire hunters. We also begin to understand why Lea and Rachel’s connection is so vastly different from Lea’s connection to Calvin. The book ends with a perfect setup for a third book. This action packed page turner is a fun little read.
This book had so much action in it. It took me awhile to read because of other obligations, but I kept wanting to just sneak away to see what happened next. Rachel and Lea are a great team, but put together the two surprising others, they make one fantastic group. I cannot wait for the third book to come out to see what happens next. Powerful women in this book that don’t take any crap! I recommend this book for the supernatural fans out there!
Book two of the Blood Borne series was another great hit! Rachel is a bit disturbed after finding out the world if full of real monsters in the bodies of everyday people. After teaming up with Leah in Silver Staked, Rachel thought they put an end to the experiments involving humans and vampire blood. When things go haywire, the women travel across the world together and fight to survive the journey. There is no lack of action in this book, and Rachel and Leah’s story is far from over. I’m really hoping for a third book so I can continue on this magical adventure. The authors did an incredible job of working together to create such a seamlessly plotted book. Excellent job Denise Grover Swank and Shannon Mayer!
Great job Mayer and Swank!! This second book is a great addition to the series. It picks up right where the first book left off; so make sure you check out book 1 (Silver Staked) first. Again, the story line is written very well. I am surprised to see how well these two authors combined their writing magic to make one (two) great book(s). The characters are continuously well developed throughout this series along with new characters.
Great series!!! Try it out and see for yourself.
After the fall-out from Rachel’s TV appearance she and Lea are encouraged to leave the country. They encounter other unexpected creatures along the way, keeping the excitement high. Volume 2 is a page turner! I thought the plot was fast paced and unpredictable. I highly recommend this short series!
If you can get past the part where the characters can take on deadly wounds then magically heal quickly, then this second book is another action packed supernatural read. Rachel and Lea, Antonio and Ivan are entertaining personalities all who keep you guessing who is telling the truth. There is a big opening for a next book so don’t think this is the end of the series.
Can I just say how super excited I am that Wolf Bite is finally here! This is Book 2 in the Blood Borne series. This is not your typical sci-fi/paranormal read. Silver Staked is the first and if you haven’t picked it up yet, you should.
What could possibly be better than Denise Grover Swank or Shannon Mayer? How about Denise Grover Swank AND Shannon Mayer! That’s right, you heard me! These two amazing authors have joined forces to bring you the Blood Borne series. This is not your usual urban fantasy, supernatural, paranormal genre so don’t knock it before you try it and when you do be sure to start with Silver Staked (Book 1) so you don’t miss out on any of this amazing story!
Heart pounding, adrenaline rushing, action packed, are just a few of the many emotions this book has to offer. Denise Grover Swank and Shannon Mayer are a supernatural force to be reckoned with!
I love the power duo of Lea and Rachel. They’re brave, strong, independent, women that make a kick-ass team! They work together for the greater good and as their friendship grows they know that the other will always have their back. I also enjoyed the addition of Ivan and Antonio. Even though they keep you guessing what side they’re on, a little romance if nothing more than comical is always fun and I must say that the plot twist was unexpected to say the least. I am anxious for Book Three!
Wolf Bite (previously named Replica) was a great follow up to Silver Staked. I liked the continuation and growth of Lea and Rachel’s friendship and bond. I also liked the introduction of Ivan and especially Antonio. There was a lot of action and suspense in this book, even more than in Wolf Bite! I also love the new twist (no spoiler)! The ending left me needing more Rachel, Lea, Ivan, and Antonio. I am excited that Shannon Mayer and D.G. Swank have plans to team up again soon to write another Blood Borne book!!
