This is one of my all-time favorites. The story of Aislinn and Wulfgar was my first “adult” romance (read eons ago). Powerful and ground-breaking for its time, this is one book I’ve read and re-read over the years. Set in the time William conquered England, this book launched a wave romance novels set in that tumultuous era. Wolf and the Dove is …
An all time favorite.. I know it by heart. I couldn’t tell you how many times I have read and re-read this book. It has to be one of the first historical romances that I have ever read, Kathleen E. Woodiwiss is amazing, all of her books are great.
I have read this book 6 or more times I love the story.
Vividly drawn, with superb world building, this is a classic from Kathleen Woodiwiss. I loved the gradual build of tension, and the ‘dastardliness’ of the villainous characters.
The ending had me nail-biting, wondering how events would unravel, and I wasn’t disappointed.
Loved it… and will be looking for more.
this is an old book, but it is the one that started me reading constantly. It is a good read, as are all of Kathleen’s books… If you have never read a book in your life for entertainment, then this is the one to start with. It will definitely get you hooked.
Best Romance Novel I’ve ever read!
This is one of my all-time favorites books, so much so that I have read it more than once. The story of Aisllinn and Wulfgar is filled with treachery, emotion, and sexiness. Aislinn is a strong heroine who is trying to protect her people from the Norman invader who arrives to rule over her home after her father’s murder at the hands of the …
Loved it
One of the great classics of historical romance!
This is one of the first adult romances I ever read, and it is still one of my favorites. Yes, it is dated (published in 1974), and many of its components would not be used today. But in some ways, it is a more accurate portrayal of the time than some more modern works.
The story opens in 1066 as William the Conqueror fights his way to the throne …
When I was in my 20’s, I read historical romances like they were going out of style. Now I wouldn’t touch them with a barge pole. Not because they aren’t entertaining (most of them are), but they seem to follow the same pattern over and over. The stories never seem to vary much in content, and the end result is usually the same. However, there was …
Great story, leaves you feeling good. Every book this author writes are wonderful.
An author I go back to again and again. A slightly twisted story about surviving and finding what you didn’t know what you were looking for.
Exceptional read
