Waking up each day is a gift….On her 21st birthday, someone slipped a potent drug combination into socialite Aurora Brightwell’s champagne, putting her in a coma for the next ten years. It’s been a long road back, and it’s time to reclaim the life she lost and find out exactly what happened on that fateful night. Financier Kincade Enright has his own reason for helping Aurora discover who … helping Aurora discover who poisoned her, but for the time being he’s keeping that – and his true identity – to himself. What he can’t keep hidden though, are his growing feelings for the one-time paparazzi darling and party-girl.
When this prince of finance joins forces with the former sleeping beauty, nothing can stop them from finding the answers they seek…or prevent the powerful emotions developing between them as they search for the truth.

I loved the story. Waking up from a coma, Aurora faces struggles physically and emotionally. She’s such a strong character. The world around her has changed so much. She needs to reconcile her girlish and immature past to the more mature woman she’s now is. What happened to her friends? Who drugged her and why. There’s so much mystery and suspense to keep the reader hooked. Especially when she bumps into the handsome Kincaide Enright. What secrets does he hold? The secondary characters were also well written. I recommend Woke by Peggy Jaeger and think you will enjoy it.
Auroras life changes at her 21st birthday after a combination of drugs send her into a coma. Waking after 10yrs & with 5yrs of rehab treatment she’s changed from the party girl she once was & re-evaluated her life. Scarred by this & physically she has found more purpose in helping others esp a women’s refuge, where she again meets a stranger she bumped into earlier.
Cade has had a hard life fighting to make his way & securing his own wealth. The chemistry was smouldering with this couple & they bought out the good in each other. However when she delves into her past is he the man she thought he was?
There were elements of suspense & Aurora doesn’t know whom to trust & why things are being hidden from her. There are some good twists making for an interesting tale.
If you like a romantic thriller with a twist this is for you.

I thoroughly enjoyed this modern take on the classic Sleeping Beauty trope. Peggy Jaeger is a skilled author who lures the reader into the main character’s challenge of discovering what contributed to her experiencing a devastating life-altering event more than ten years ago. I felt for Aurora, the heroine, as she struggles to rebuild her life, with the support of both her mother and the loyal woman who works for this high society family. Can she trust the handsome stranger who suddenly appears in her life, after being abandoned by her closest friends? You’ll have to read Woke to find out how the story ends. It was a thoroughly good read!
