I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. Woe for a Faerie is the first book in the Keepers of New Haven series and this was just such a great way to start off a new series. I just didn’t want it to end. I just fell in love with these characters and getting to go along on their journey. I can’t wait to read more wonderful stories from this author.
Free your mind, and you can soar! Arun, Faerie Prince witnessed Woe’s wing disintegration. He didn’t know her past. The prophecy stated that once she hit ground, they were bound. She would never get her wings back, he was permanently bound to her. He was also determined to find the cure for his twin sister, Ishka. He did not want to lead the Fae realm. So, he planned to ignore Woe. As a first series’ book, this led the foundation for what is to come. We, the reader get an insight into how powerful bodies feel about the events they encounter. Many seemingly mundane decisions and choices have long lasting meaning/affect on mankind and our new para friends. Woe goes through many changes as a result of her fall. Can Arun help his sister? Does Woe adust to losing her wings and living as a human? Does Jason get what he wants? Can he keep New Haven Safe? Nice story, sets a solid foundation. Good romance with mystery, intrigue, danger and love. I received an ARC from Booksprout for a review.

Started off slow and was a bit hard to get into
but after the first few chapters it picks up.
Be ready for a roller coaster ride.
I was pleasantly surprised at how the author handled the main character, an ancient heavenly being, newly fallen. No spoilers here, but it intrigued me and continued all through the story. I’m very happy to have experienced such a nice read. Kudos to the author!

When angels do only what they are told they remain angels. But when they make a choice, they fall. Ailin rages when an act of violence is made against a special child named Hannah. She makes her choice and falls and her name changes to Woe. She immediately becomes embroiled in first violence and then makes the acquaintance of two males, a human with paranormal powers and a fae, over which she will make a choice. The story alternates between the angst of Woe and the two males and the evil behind the murder of Hannah.
The story is well told. I found myself riveted and read the book in one setting. The plot isn’t obvious and there are many twists and turns. I found myself in tears at one point, heartbroken. In other words I was deeply involved with the characters. I can recommend this book for it’s suspense and well imagined story line. It’s actually quite believable.
I read an ARC copy of this book and based the review on that.
First let me state that I received an Advance Reader Copy, (ARC), but it in no way influences my review. I always leave an honest review. Also please note that this is my first time reading this author and it won’t be my last.
Holy shiznet!!! I was on a rollercoaster of emotions throughout this story. My heart hurt so many times for Woe. I laughed with an at her as well. The rest of the characters that were important to this story, like Jason, a human who was screwed in so many ways; Arun, the Fae-warroir Prince who ended up loving Woe with everything he is; Liv, no clue who or what she is, except that she’s a freak with max alchemy skills; Lev, a leviathan, who seems like a sweet old sailor; the Librarian, who’s a holographic being yet self-aware; and Ishka, the damaged Fae princess who’s also Arun’s twin sister. So much going on. I can’t wait to read the next story. I recommend this read 5 Thumbs up
